Pools of multiple connections to the same physical Structure with SPR

I use OBIEE 10.1.3.4 and have multiple physical databases that contain the exact same structure. Instead of creating the same physical structure in the RPD file with their own pools of connections, I would like to have a physical structure with multiple connections pools. I have this Setup, however, I can only see the data of one of the physical databases by using the right click, view data... option in the physical appearance of the RPD file. I searched and could not find a solution to my particular problem. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Goal is to get the CPs separated... and then, you can use two data. But better to have 2 separate objects.

  • How to create multiple hierarchies from the same physical table

    Hi all

I have a physical table to join with a fact table: there are 3 different hierarchies, which share the last 2 levels inside the dimension table. It's the logic diagram of hierarchies:

    Dimension services
    -Business
    -Sector
    -Type
    -Operator
    -Product
    Partner of dimension
    -Partner
    -Operator
    -Product
    Contractor of dimension
    -Contractor
    -Operator
    -Product

All columns are in the same table physical source. I tried to create 3 table logic source from the same physical table, everyone with all the columns and create a hierarchy for each dimension table, but it gives me nQSError: 15011.

Any suggestion? Maybe the physical table alias can help for the creation of tables of different sizes?

    Thanks in advance,
    Concerning

    Hello

It is a basic rule that you cannot create multiple hierarchies in a single dimension table, so what you do is create three tables of alias and slip into MDB layer in 3 different sizes and on top these tables create 3 different dimension hierarchies.

  • Direct DB request - Connect 2 patterns using 2 pools of connections at the same time?

    Hi all

Will be "Request for Direct database" feature allows to connect to two pools of connections at the same time?

Output report is based on the UNION of two select statements from two schemas, two pools of connections are created to access two schematics

First select statement comes from a single schema and second select statement just forming the other

    Select Column1, Column2, Column3 from A, B, C
    UNION
    Select column4, column 5, column6 of X, Y, Z

A, B, C paintings come from the first schema and X, Y, Z come from another

How to get the above out put using "application for Direct database"

    Kind regards
    SMA

It is a very bad idea. If you connect to the same base, then it will be much better to simply synonymous and grants between the schema1, schema2 objects so that you can use a single connection. You query will go much quicker since the BI server do not have to run separate queries to stich together data. If the data are two different databases, it is advisable to do some ETL and group all the data in your Data Warehouse database.

  • Can you connect multiple NetStreams to the same peerID?

Does make sense to have two separate netstreams that are connected to the same connection remote p2p?

I think I want to separate the audio and video editing and playing so well I can grant permissions (e.g. publish audio but not video for some users, but not others).

Similarly, there are problems with two distinct NetStreams on the same edition p2p connection?

Initially, I thought it would be possible, but I have problems to read workflows when connecting users on different ip addresses.

You can play or publish as many streams as you want on the same connection. The mind just the bandwidth.

However, audio and video edition on different waterways may not be a good idea because they are sure to be out of sync.

To save bandwidth and play only the audio of a stream receiveVideo audio/video set NetStream false.

Alternatively, in your scenario of fine-grained permissions, you can publish a stream with audio only and the other with audio and video. Data rate a bit redundant but audio is small and can be worth it.

  • Oracle XE on multiple virtual machines on the same physical machine?

    Hi people,

Can I install Oracle XE on several virtual machines that are on the same physical machine?

    Thank you

    G. grangier

I find that this interpretation is questionable.
    Instance, what do mean?
    What they mean by server?
Unless Oracle explicitly forbids the execution of several databases of XE on different virtual machines at the same time, I don't see violations.

For example, imagine that the user has runs that XE on AWS and user B running an another XE on AWS.
They are not running on the same "Server"?

  • Firefox does not work for multiple instances of the SAME user account on Windows Multipoint Server 2011

We have a PC HP of MulitSeat MS6200
It runs Microsoft Windows MultiPoint Server 2011 (which seems to be a twisted version of Windows 7)
It is implemented in a laboratory of computer science and students connect you using their account for shared room - IE multiple instances of the same user accounts are currently running on the PC at the same time.
The first student to run Firefox can work with it without a problem.
However, when another student try to start firefox they get the following message:
Firefox is already running but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

  • IMac is not able to share multimedia files with multiple users on the same computer.

We just bought a new IMac that we were very excited.  We have phones Apple and iPads, replacement and ten year with a new Mac old PC made since.

Now, the trouble begins. For more than ten years Windows had several usernames on the same machine and have been able to have a shared folder only for music, pictures and video that my iTunes program and others could acsess and share from several user names. This kept all in one place for new photos families by me or my wife and our 30 gigabytes of music that comes from our CDs was available at bolt of us. Now in train to implement on IMac should be easy but is impossible.  after transferring the music to my login information, it cannot acsess all files on my login. I am not even able to share or provide his acsess. I can move the iTunes folder to my shared folder. She can get acsess now but iTunes says that the library file is locked. I worked with care from Apple on the phone for that sold, but they believe it will not be possible without creating two copies of the 30 gigabytes of music for each of us. who would take more hard drive when it failed too.  Sharing is not any help. These files were before iTunes. I'm not pay 30 dollars a month to store in icloudcor use a google reader slow to the Internet connection when everything's fine here. Apparently Applow programmers do not believe in sharing of multimedia files between two users on the same device, even if a PC does that very well. My choice here is so far have duplicates of all the photos, music and videos loaded on the disc for me and my wife, charge all the media for an external hard drive which for some reason any all Apple programs will share, or return the mac to another PC that will be able to make several connections with sharing music and photos. Apple if you are reading this you are 10 years behind on that. Not everyone is born in the last five years and bought their music on iTunes to be able to use home sharing. Home sharing cannot help this. your applications should be able to be told to use the media files shared without import copies to readers of the user. I am very disappointed. Someone else has any ideas for that?  I have pictures, not iPhoto. I have a week more to be able to return it. I'm not interested in making a fake account that is always connected to share or maintaining of me constantly connected. It should have been easy, I had to be happy to play with new software.

Photos, iPhoto and iTunes libraries must appear on an external hard drive that is formatted as shown below to be used by multiple users on the same Mac:

So get a properly formatted external HD and move your iPhoto/pictures of her as well as your iTunes library.  This way all your iMac users can access and use both libraries.

An alternative to the external HD method is to partition your internal hard drive into two partitions, one for libraries.  It is formatted as shown above and be large enough to contain the libraries and allow the expansion of libraries.

  • Parameters for the single instance of DCOM for multiple users on the same machine

I have a DCOM on a Windows 2008 R2, Enterprise Edition machine. I would like to be able to open an instance of the DCOM and have it accessible by multiple users on the same machine, i.e. users connected to Windows accounts.

What settings will do? In the tab 'identity' in dcomconfg for my DCOM object settings, I tried "interactive user", 'the user running' and 'this user', all three lead to the same result: start a new instance DCOM on easch Windows of the connected customer accounts, despite the existence of bodies being already running on other accounts. This baffles me, especially with the third alternative, 'this user', which should certainly lead to all proceedings being started by this specific account? This is not the case. Any help would be appreciated!

  • How can we prevent the Explorer of research according to the records of multiple copies of the same file?

Several slightly different copies of the same file, but subfolders will appear in Windows 7 when you perform a global search for files with specific attributes (e.g., size, date, extension).  If you delete a file, you really are by deleting all the files reported.  What are the steps to perform a search and don't report the real file rather than multiple versions of shadow or shortcut of the file?

    Example:
Research on all files on the C drive beyond 1 GB, I receive a report in which there are 4 files
    games_file. ISO 7,084,400,688 1/1/2011 12:00 am a C:\Documents and settings\COMPUTER\Documents\Stuff\Apps
    games_file. ISO 7,084,400,688 1/1/2011 12:00 am a C:\Documents and settings\COMPUTER\My Documents\Stuff\Apps
    games_file. ISO 7,084,400,688 1/1/2011 12:00 am by C:\Users\COMPUTER\Documents\Stuff\Apps
    games_file. ISO 7,084,400,688 1/1/2011 12:00 am has C:\Users\COMPUTER\My Documents\Stuff\Apps

WOW - I can save 21 GB deleting 3 files, right?  Nope, it's all the same physical file.  It should be reported as such.

    Hello

I suggest to check indexed locations and make sure that duplicate records are not explicitly added. If they do, delete or rebuild the search index and check if the problem is still there

    Change advanced indexing options

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-advanced-indexing-options

If the problem persists, then create a new user account and verify.

    Create a user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

Create a test file in the same location, and check if the same file is returned multiple times.

If this isn't the case, then follow the steps mentioned in the link to transfer data from the old user account for the new user account.

  • Dblink Oracle to sql server, multiple database on the same server sql under a dblink

Hi, we managed to set up an Oracle dblink to sql server and retrieve data.

The user of sql server have been using via dblink has access to multiple databases on the same sql server

But the question is how in oracle (if possible) prepend you the SQL access to this?

    For example:

Sqlserver_prod has the user sqlserver_user which seems to be set up as default database sqlserver_db1

But we have select access to sqlserver_db2

    all work well as sqlserver_user

    Select * from table_fromdb1

    Select * from dbo.table_fromdb1

    Select * from sqlserver_db1.dbo.table_fromdb1

    as does

    Select * from sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2

    more in Oracle

    Oracle_db a dblink sqlserver_prod. World connection sqlserver_user

    everything works fine

    Select * from 'table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod '.

    Select * from 'dbo '. "table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod

But how to (if possible) access from oracle

    sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2

without having to create a new sqlserver_db2_user referenced in a new dblink

If oracle for oracle would be

    Select * from remote_oracle_schema.table@remote_oracle_db

    Hello

Since no one has replied, I can go with my assumptions that replicat process searches across data dictionary, and since he is a 11g Golden Gate executable, its not backward compatible with 10g.  To this end, I have duplicated my database with RMAN DUPLICATE ora11g, creating another database called ora11g2, changed my REPLOCAL. PRM file as follows (changes in bold):

    REPLICAT replocal
    SETENV (ORACLE_HOME = "/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1")
    SETENV (ORACLE_SID = "ora11g2")
    ASSUMETARGETDEFS
    Ggs_owner @ora11g2, ggs_owner PASSWORD username
    DISCARDFILE. / dirrpt/discard.txt, APPEND, 20 MEGABYTES
    DDL INCLUDE ALL
    CARD ggs_owner.golden, TARGET ggs_owner.golden, KEYCOLS (gold);

I then rebooted the components again, and finally, I was able to replicate the changes to the GGS_OWNER table. GOLD ora11g, at the same table in ora11g2.

    Thank you all.

  • OAM - map multiple URLS for the same web application

Is OAM, posible to map multiple URLS to the same web application? When the user access to a different URL, it passes to the same application but set up with different strategy?

In this case, this is the scenario that describes ROISSAC - as he says OAM cannot protect the same resource with two different strategies.

Perhaps you could do this at the level of the network - if the two companies access the application through different proxy servers, you can use different identifiers to host for the two WebGates on proxy servers. This solution is easier to apply when there is a physical separation of users (for example, the internal/external users) rather than different users coming through the same path.
