  If it works in Mode safe mode and normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) off and then try to find which extension is the cause by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.

  You can see a pop-up block icon in the right corner of the status bar if you have chosen to hide the information bar at the top.

  Well, I answer to my own question.   I deleted the old directory, downloaded items once again, and it worked.  The problem is the last time, I opened the zip file in Windows Explorer, all the files selected and copied in the directory.  This time.   For me, this happened from disabling, but do not uninstall McAfee site Advisor. Recommend site completely uninstalled and the problem disappeared completely. I had turned off before site Advisor, but it seems after a update to McAfee, he was back and then turn it off again caused this problem.

  Go to "uninstall a program" or "add/remove programs" in control panel. Find McAfee in your list (McAfee total protection for me). Click it and then click "Uninstall/Change" (right there in XP, up above in Vista or 7). I don't remember exactly what you see after that, but at one screen I was given the choice to uninstall the McAfee total protection and/or the Site Adviser. You can just check the Site Adviser and just uninstall the Site Adviser while retaining the rest of the McAfee protection.

  My understanding is that I don't need Java on my iMac. I think I've eliminated it with zero problems. However I get a very annoying pop up asking me to install Java JDK (Java Development Kit). Even if somehow I need (or need to) Java, I certainly useless the JDK. (I have no intention of ever using any development kit).

  When I look for a solution to this (as I did market for 50-100 hours, using many different phrases of the number), 95% of the suggestions explain how to correctly install the JDK, while the rest are basically irrelevant. It must be me, because people thank the people for their solutions "," which involves installing something that I don't want or need (and possibly presents a security risk).

  The only way that I got rid of this annoying message is to remove the Java preferences window.

  There are some security issues with Java for now.  Go to control panel | Programs and features and find Java in the list uninstall and cannot reinstall when prompt.
