Port MAC address Dell 6224 Switch

Y at - it a command to find ports a 6224 switch MAC address? I am desperately looking for it yesterday... Thanks in advance!

You can use the following command to view MAC learned on an interface # show bridge address-table address.

You can also use the technology to see the order #, collect a lot of information about the switch.

Can you give us more information about the task, you are trying to reach?

  • Create an EEM to find a port (mac address)

    Hello

    I´d like to create a script to find where an IP address is associated.

    Manually I can do it by using the command "show arp | in 10.10.10.50"(IP that I'm looking for), that give me the mac address, then I use the command"Display mac ad ad 4055.39dc.f468"(mac associated with this IP address).

    GW01 #show arp | in 10.10.10.71
    Internet 10.10.10.71 0 4055.39dc.f468 ARPA Vlan10

    Would be nice if I can run the EEM informing the IP address (example: findport 10.10.10.50) and get the final result (interface where this IP is associated with).

    How I do that? How to pass the IP address I typed EEM and after, how to get the MAC that address the first command shown?

  • How to display the table HP V1900 - 8G switch MAC address

    Hello!

    Someone probably knows...

    Is it possible to display the MAC addresses of computers connected to the switch HP V1900 - 8G (ditch the WEB or CLI). All managed switches, I worked with had something like "MAC address Table" or more to display the MAC address of the switch table.

    I found it by myself. There is a function under Tools/system that allows to download MAC table as a txt file.

    Manual switch, you can see only screenshot that there are these functions, but no description on it at all. You must pass your manual!

  • MAC addresses of our network interface cards physical on the ESX host

    I asked a very interesting question.   What is the MAC address for each physical network cards within our ESX host.   Our host ESX3.5Update4 has 6 of them.

    I am able to ESXCfg allows to identify the vNIC but assimilates to the physical network adapters?   or, how can I find the MAC address of the physical network adapters?

    No, I mean there are additional MAC addresses that the switch can 'see '.  The service console interface have a MAC, and address that will be displayed if you run 'ifconfig', but vmkernel will not be displayed in this way, use "esxcfg-vmknic - l" to display this MAC address.  The virtual machine each have their own of the MAC you can get that from their configuration files, or the vi client.

All are in the same policy in foglight. I don't know if it related software, or something in the configuration of the switch. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    I think that you may have about the product of network Foglight (SGR) management system.

    If so, your best bet is to post your question in the Forum of Discussion of NMS rather than the Foglight Management System forum.

  • What mac - address is visible to the physical switches?

    I have a Dell crowd with 4 natachasery and vSphere 4.0 hypervisor. natachasery is attached to a physical switch. Switch does not support the CDP Protocol (does support LLDP). Data folding switch, I don't see the mac addresses of Dell natachasery. Instead, I see mac with VMWare OUIs addresses (00: 0C: 29:xx:xx:xx).

    What address is seen the switches? Where can I find these addresses mac VMWare VI Client hypervisor or MOB? Is - this vSwitch mac address (I couldn't find vSwitch mac address anywhere in the VI client)?

    In the CROWD, I see after the objects under HostNetworkInfo:

    Teddy [PhysicalNic]
    * Teddy [' key - vim.host.PhysicalNic - vmnic0 "]
    * Teddy [' key - vim.host.PhysicalNic - vmnic1 "]
    * Teddy [' key - vim.host.PhysicalNic - vmnic2 "]
    * Teddy [' key - vim.host.PhysicalNic - vmnic3 "]
    PortGroup [HostPortGroup]
    * portgroup ['key - vim.host.PortGroup - VM network 16']
    * portgroup ['key - vim.host.PortGroup - network management']
    * portgroup ['key - vim.host.PortGroup - VMKernel']
    * portgroup ['key - vim.host.PortGroup - MLAG test bench"]

    My understanding was that this mac address would be at the level of vSwitch and not at the level of the port.

    Y at - it an another simple way to find (via LLDP?) where the host is connected (vSphere 4.0 or 4.1 vSphere)?

    Thank you, in advance.

  • is possible to configure the wan on Dell N3024 switch port

    Hello

    as I said in the topic. I got a new switch N3024 of Dell.  I worked in before cisco, but dell is new to me. I have a few question to ask: -.

    is that we can configure wan on that port?

    is - this switch supports the aggregation of the ISL?

    If Yes please share the switch manual

    Thanks in advance

    The WAN connection is made usually by creating a VLAN and assignment of an IP address in the same subnet as the device that it connects this VLAN.

    Example:

    Create VLAN 10

    database of # vlan

    VLAN # 10

    For example let's say that 1/0/1 interface connects your firewall, which has an IP 10.10.10.1 30 assigned to its interface. This means that we would assign 10.10.10.2 30 to VLAN 10.

    # interface vlan 10

    # 10.10.10.2/30 ip address

    Then place the interface 1/0/1 in access mode for VLAN 10.

    # interface gigabitethernet 0/1/1

    switchport mode access #.

    # switchport access vlan 10

    Enable the VLAN routing on the switch.

    # ip Routing

    Define a static route pointing out traffic at the firewall.

    # ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.1

    Orders of trunking VLAN are very similar to the Cisco commands.

    # interface gigabitethernet 0/1/1

    switchport mode trunk #.

    # permit switchport trunk VLANs 1-1024

  • PowerConnect 6224: Dell SFP + port supports combine Dell SFP?

    I have a Dell Powerconnect 6224 switch and I installed a Dual Port SFP + Module of adaptation for PowerConnect
    6200 series at bay2 at the rear of the switch. I inserted a transceiver, SFP 1000BASE-LX, wavelength 1310nm 10km Reach in the SFP slot + and the other end is connected to a connector SFP 1gbe. I don't have any link. My question is if Dell SFP ports + supports SFP transceivers or it only supports SFP transceivers +?

    I checked the ports to help an SFP + SFP +, 10GbE, copper Direct Attach cable Twinaxial, and link LEDs are lighting up.

    I believe that the SFP ports + back work with SFP transceivers. Ports before combo will work with SFP transceivers. Another thing to look at is the cable being used. Don't forget that there are specifications that are compatible with transceivers FPS are you wanting to use. A SFP + SFP connection would require that the SFP transceiver + supports a connection of 1 GB.

    Hope this info helps.

  • SG500 showing the same MAC address on more than one port?

    My ISP has been help me solve a problem that we had with an interaction between our SG500 battery on HP customer premises equipment.

    I have the stack of SG500 divided into two VIRTUAL LANs. 8-port VLAN11 and the rest on VLAN1. Both are of VLAN native, not marked so they will carry only the traffic for their own VLAN with no mixing. I also route between these VLANs on the stack.

    VLAN11 switch ip: 10.76.20.20

    IP switch VLAN1: 10.1.1.1

    I took a port for each VLAN and plugged into the HP PSI switch, where he adapt VLANS separated which then connect to a remote data center through an MPLS.

    Here's the question: the SG500 seems to have mac address base on two HP PSI switch ports. This disrupts the HP switch, and I end up having packets to fall into a black hole. This is the output of the switch from HP showing mac based battery SG500 goods between ports in seconds:

    HP # display the address mac 8843e1-af7085

    Status and counters - Address-Table - 8843e1-af7085

    MAC address: 8843e1-af7085

    Located on the Port: 15

    HP # display the address mac 8843e1-af7085

    Status and counters - Address-Table - 8843e1-af7085

    MAC address: 8843e1-af7085
    Located on the Port: 11

    Any idea what's going on here? It's as if the SG500 uses the MAC even for both its IP addresses.

    Thank you!

    Hi Dani, the only MAC address announced by SX300/500 series should be the Mac system if you show on the SX500 mac address table, you should see the MAC even for both VLAN. I don't know why, is to confuse the HP switch unless it does not correctly between switches vlan tag.

  • Security ports SG 300 - 52-2 Mac addresses on Port 1

    Hello

    I have a 300-52 52-Port Gigabit Managed Switch Cisco SG. On the switch, I have two ports that are connected to the vlan comments.

    Now, I want to activate the safety of port on both ports. Is it possible to allow two addresses on a port?

    This is because there are two users who use this two ports. But the organizers can't users use the same all the time.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Dominique

    Hi Dominique, to add to the post of Christopher, if you wait 2 addresses on a port, but these 2 connections can connect to a different port, you can configure security of the static ports or dynamic for these ports.

    Here are 2 documents to help you.

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/docs/doc-27720

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/docs/doc-27753

    If you choose to use static MAC entries you can duplicate entries for the different interfaces.

    In addition, as an alternative, if you know the IP address and MAC address you can use dynamic arp inspection and achieve similar results much more strictly.

  • Unable to see the MAC VMNIC addresses on LAN switches

    I am unable to find vmnic on switches LAN MAC addresses. I can only find on the LAN Switch Service (vswif0) Console MAC address in the ARP table.

    When I do a 'ifconfig' on the ESX, I find physical vmnic MAC addresses. I know that they are seen by the LAN switch as 'virtual', but how do I see these switches LAN?

    I need this because I would like to know on which port of the switch the vmnic LAN is connected.

    For example:

    vmnic0 Link encap HWaddr x: x: x: x: x: x (this MAC addess is not seen on the LAN switch)

    RUNNING BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 metric: 1

    Dropped packets: 687640058 RX errors: 0:0 overruns: 0 frame: 0

    collisions: 0 txqueuelen:1000

    RX bytes: 2887420385 (2753,6 Mb) TX bytes: 4126943954 (3935,7 Mb)

    vswif0 Link encap HWaddr x: x: x: x: x: x (this MAC address is seen on the LAN switch)

    INET addr:x.x.x.x Bcast:x.x.x.x Mask:x.x.x.x

    RUNNING BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 metric: 1

    Dropped packets: 587443700 RX errors: 0:0 overruns: 0 frame: 0

    Dropped packets: 70548650 TX errors: 0:0 overruns: 0 carrier: 0

    collisions: 0 txqueuelen:1000

    RX bytes: 1851173462 (1765,4 Mb) TX bytes: 1435689402 (1369,1 Mb)

    Interruption: 97 memory: e6000000-e6012100

    Thanks in advance.

    By default, the ESX host only started listening.  You can see this by running 'esxcfg-vswitch - b vSwitch0.  If you want to change this your ESX host sends data to the switch as well, running 'esxcfg-vswitch - B two vSwitch0'

  • Blocking MAC address on PowerConnect 6248 switch

    Hello

    I have a PowerConnect 6248 switch where we want to block a specific MAC address from the rest of the network.

    I created a list of MAC access with the following commands:

    Console (config) #mac access-list extended BLOCK
    Console (config-mac-access-list) #deny 001D.09D4.B08E ffff.ffff.ffff all

    Console (config-mac-access-list) #permit a whole

    I then apply it to all interfaces:

    console (config) #mac group-access BLOCK

    What ends by goes, is that all hosts connected to the switch are blocked when my rule should only be blocking the host with mac address 001D.09D4.B08E.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you!

    Have you tried changing your statement to:

    Console (config-mac-access-list) #deny 001D.09D4.B08E 0000.0000.0000 everything

  • Problem with security of the ports and disabled learning MAC addresses?

    Hello

    Is there a problem, or incompatibility, if you configure the port-security on "n" ports that belong to X vlan and also disable mac-address-table of learning on this vlan?

    Someone did he do reference, links or PDFs on this problem?

    Thank you very much

    Best regards.

    Hi Javier,

    As I showed above, the combination is valid. I did not all static entries in the security of the ports, but all entries learned through port security will be shown as static on the show see the mac address table. All dynamic learning is disabled.

    I don't know what kind of security problem, that you try to resolve, but the configuration is valid.
