  What your seeing is actually normal and a result of power management settings. When it is on battery, the reduced CPU clock speed to improve the battery life and only increases in speed if a program requires processing power (games, adobe photoshop, CAD, etc.). If you wish, you can disable this feature by setting the "maximum performance" option in the Lenovo power management program and get into the bios and disable "Intel Speedstep" and similar power options setting.   Hi all

  I have a question about the standard temperature / acceptable range for computers thinkpad t510 operation. My setup is currently my t510 is connected to an external monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse. Therefore basically a desktop computer except using the innerds of the laptop as the "heart" of the system. My power manager put the CPU to adapt. The temperature readings that I get for the processor and the motherboard download the program called of Piriform Speccy are on average 60 to 61 degrees C. I wonder if it is within the normal temperature of operation for the laptop and if it is acceptable. What is the temperature not okay and why it is so high, it's that I use external references. Also, I even use heavy workload for the laptop and more for the web, browsing and listening to music and work on documents / spread sheet so basically, office work.

  And finally, the problem of temperature would resolve if I would in the future to get a computer laptop w530 since these laptops are more "powerful"? Or is that evil and the temperature is normal.

  Yes ~ 60 ° C is quite normal. I would get concerned if temperature readings consistently exceeded 80 c or if the fan was constantly. Otherwise you will see the temperature fluctuates as activity processor and graphics vary.

  I wonder if this is possible because I think it must be something with the t510 design since my friend has a t420 and its keyboard is great. Unfortunately this t510 (and for the record, I had 3 replacement of keyboard) and each of the keyboard felt good at the beginning but after some use, themeslves felt stronger keys to break it. Either I'm crazy, but I think that my keyboard goes through phases... where previously in a first time the keys are extremely difficult to push and after awhile the keys get really easy to push and after while it slowly keys type on this keyboard starts to become harder to press down. It's really hard to believe, but it's true. Perhaps a defect in the t510 keyboard or I'm so no luck getting the same problem 3 times now with these replacement keyboards. Laughing out loud

  The keyboard on the T510, T520, X 220, T410, T420, T410s, T420s, T400s, W510, W520 are intercompatibles. So the answer to your question is Yes.

  Just look for the part number of the keyboard under the keyboard.

  I have a T510 (presented year last April), which should be loaded with a 65W adapter. But I missed the adapter upwards with my company laptop which is a 90W. Does anyone know if it could damage my T510? I had plugged for about 2 days until I've found who was hurt.

  Hello. I would like to know if the newer models of the Thinkpad T500 series can accept the keyboard of a Thinkpad T510? I currently own a T510, and if I had to buy a new Thinkpad, I would know that I could exchange their keyboards and continue to use my only current in the new laptop.

  I'm not interested in hearing the new keyboard defenses or it's good. I don't want to be told what mistake I have to prefer the old form of layout and key. If I buy a new Thinkpad I'll give you the new keyboard a fair shot for a few days, but I will not buy another Thinkpad unless I know for sure that I won't have to use the chiclet keys if I don't want.

  Priority one is for the back of browser and keys before continuing to work as usual. If they become magically converted to page top/page down keys is no good.

  Unfortunately the keyboard cannot be remapped that BIOS does recognize not all keys on the keyboard of 7 older rank.

  I guess this is the right forum to post messages on a thinkpad T510. I need a help. I tried to install Windows 2008 R2. It installed successfully. However I have noticed, that the operating system did not recognize everything in my laptop. Default VGA driver has been defined, network driver has not been installed and therefore ethernet has been disabled.

  Can someone ' a please guide me on how to obtain the latest drivers for T510 specially targettting Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server platforms.

  Yes No. You can use Windows 7 drivers on 2008R2. Some drivers won't like being installed on a server operating system, so you'll need to dirty their hands with Orca or other utilities to force it to install.

  Bluetooth is also for the most part non-functional under 2008R2, unless you pay for a license of BlueSoleil stack or try one of the attempts of the battery BT MS of Windows 7 ports.

• 90W AC adapter for T510

  I got my daughter a Thinkpad T510 for College and also bought the duplicator 3 so she can use it as a cradle to College. I bought separately (p/n 42T 4425) 90W Adapter for use with its port replicator. During the fall semester, she told me that the 90W Adapter stopped working, so I called service and they sent a replacement. However, they sent only the adapter, not the three-phase power cable.

  The replacement adapter does not work, but I wonder now if the problem is the power supply cord. I have a multimeter, but I don't know how to check the power supply cord. Any suggestions?

  So I have a thinkpad t510 laptop, with a fairly low i5 520 m. I was wondering if I would be able to upgrade my current CPU with a more powerful i7 (quad core) 2760qm because the they share the same socket pga988/G1.

  N ° the 2nd generation of CPU will not work on a 1st gen (T510) motherboard.

• Video glitching T510

  I just got my Thinkpad T510 this week, and I was appalled to find that whenever I have move anything on the desktop (folders, application windows, etc.), I can clearly see video glitching which makes it look like all the other lines on the screen loses anti-aliasing and seems stairstepped. (Imagine all the other lines and they shifted 1 pixel to the right).

  Just curious to hear if anyone else is having a similar problem, and if there is no update of the driver or of difficulty settings I can do to solve this problem without having to sent back it for repair or replacement?

  I plan on support call, but the thought that I had the document at least this as a bug of potentional model...

  Well, it seems I was in power saving mode and the laptop comes with the built-in default graphics card, so turn on the discrete video card and hit up to get the best performance has solved the problem.

  I have a new Thinkpad T510 with wide screen of 15.6 inches. It seems that the max resolution is 1366 x 768, which leaves all too big. Is there a way to increase the resolution, and which would be a good resolution for this monitor size?

  The maximum resolution is hardware limited. (Excluding some hacks driver.)

  If you have a 1366 x 768 Panel, then the highest you can go is 1366 x 768.
  If you want more, you have to exchange the material.

  The T510 can be fitted with a screen LCD 1600 x 900 and 1920 x 1080. So if you order the resolution Panel higher when you guessed it, then you're out of luck unless you want to replace yourself and void your warranty.

  I want to upgrade my Thinkpad T510 with a nice and fast Samsung 840 (as it has always been surprisingly slow for some reason any).

  Is there a way I can get my hands on the windows installation disc 7? They seem not to be supplied with the computer. Rather, there seems to be a recovery on the hard drive partition, but is not very useful in this case. What could I do?

  You should be able to burn a set of this recovery partition recovery disks (Control Panel > Lenovo-factory recovery disks) and install the OS on the SSD.
