  There is a setting in the management of the lenovo energy that limit the limit of battery charge 60% and there after stopping tilll the battery level drops to 55%. This is the battery protection mode (in some laptop that is optimize for the life of the battery or similar). It just open energy management and access the battery settings by clicking on the icon. So your battery might be good.

  My Lenovo Ideapad U410 has suddenly stopped working in normal mode. If I need to open a link or an important document, I open it in safe mode.

  Has anyone in front of the same kind of problem? I don't want to format the system as it is first of all, I would like to know the root cause. The laptop is covered by a warranty but Ideapads isn't an international warramty I guess.

• IdeaPad U410 without hard drive, lights after updates.

  I imported just an Ideapad u410 of the United States to the United Kingdom. It turns on well, I started noticing the proglem wifi everyone have. Not much, got a USB wifi adapter carrying around I can use. Then I noticed that the hard drive (C, no other visible hard drive) was rediculously small (20-30 a few GB, I forgot the exact figure) with almost all of it is the used space. I thought it was a partition for the operating system and for some reason, the rest of the disc wasn't show. I noticed icon indicating the button windows update turn off and thought that maybe the installer was not complete, so I pressed restart. It kept restarting, download updates and reboot, I'm gone for dinner when she proclaimed it would now install update 1 of 96. When I came back the laptop was turned off. I turned it on to be satisfied by a never-ending cycle of BSOD when starting, followed by a Startup Repair failed... I guess that it is are not enough space on drive C for the update of windows.   I, too, had the same problem who are users in this thread. I have a U410 bought in spring 2014. There was a pause in the hinge and the screen is separate from the cover. I have never dropped the computer, this question came a day after the general, daily use. I have attached photos of the issue for others to reference to.

• IdeaPad U410 Touch (Windows 8 X 64 Bit) black screen at startup

  Hello

  My Touch u410 3 months, runs on Windows x 64 8.

  On start-up companies normal, the screen displays a lenovo logo when I press the power button.

  Recently, when I try to turn on the laptop, it displays a black screen and will not load.

  You can hear the fans running and everything but the screen is black and just freezes and won't load or put it off until I force shutdown it.

  Tried a few options of online forums (for example may be due to the option of starting fast wndows 8, so I turned it off but it still does not work, updated all the updates that are available via windows update but still does not work).

  I can still power the computer on, but his persistent forced outages after until he is able to power up, sometimes that can take nearly an hour.

  If anyone out there has this similar issue, please share your solution!

  Hope to be able to solve this problem as soon as it becomes really upset me.

  I downloaded the BIOS update file support 65cn21ww.exe Lenove but after, I received a message "ERROR 233 - only guaranteed capsule is allowed on a system of SecureFlash! Status = 1. »
  I see that similar subjects do not actually solve the problem.
  While doing a Google search I came across ErrorEND which claims to solve the problem for $30
  Someone does it have that or know what error 233 is and how to fix it, or if the ErrorEND program works and is not a rip off...

  Hi all, I had difficulty getting the replacement SSD but finally got one of the States, think I paid probably more opportunities for it. But it has solved all my problems, I installed Windows 8 on the SSD and programs on the 1 TB D:\drive and it now works very well and is fast. Hope that helps other David

• How to turn off the function keys on an Ideapad U410?

  I played a game for a while, and I got this laptop from the latter. I went to use my key f3 for a certain purpose, but on the contrary it increases just the volume. I don't know how to disable these keys since I have no real use for them. If I could help, it would be much appreciated.

  This element can be changen in BIOS,

  go to the Configuration tab and then search for switch HotKey and changue the Legacy mode value.

  If you have Windows 7 pre-intalled only when you turn on, press Fn + F2

  I am a newbie in what it is technical so please be nice.

  Recently, I've killed my Ideapad U410 of Windows 8 for Windows 7. Installed all the drivers and all works fine except for the Wifi. He is yet to find a network, it's more like he doesn't even know that there could be something like wifi?
  Has already done some research but I have no idea what could be the problem. Any ideas? If the problem is related to the BIOS?

  I got the idea to try a pilot Win8 on my now computer laptop Win7 and as if by magic, it works! I don't know why or how but now my WiFi works again.

  Well, before you do that I realized that I had nothing to lose and wipe all my hard drivers (the SSD and HARD drive) using the command prompt of Windows 8 recovery system via USB. I still couldn't install W8, but later I tryied Ubuntu 12.10 and now it has worked flawlessly.

  I do not recommend this because I don't know if in the future this can be a real headache for me, but now, it is perfect and, in addition to the installation of the graphics card, I have no problem.

  these slits at the bottom of your IdeaPad U410 are cooling vents,

  It is advisable to not block them completely for long periods of time.

  especially if the laptop is under the heavy workload.

  Please keep an eye on temperatures using HW-monitor free software...

  Please, open energy management, go into the settings of battery and check optimize for life. This will require less capacity but the battery life would greatly increase the laptop.
