Portable Thunderbird

Hello
I am very satisfied with Thunderbird at home, but at work I have to use Outlook 2013 and I feel very uncomfortable with it.
So I would like to put a portable version of Thunderbird on a USB to use it without installing.
Goes on the official Mozilla site, I don't see any portable version (also if this version is very famous on the web). It is not officially released by Mozilla? I found a portable version on http://portableapps.com site but I do not know this site and I'm not sure that I can trust this "pirate" version (including malwares/spywares? Who knows?).
Is there a portable version of TB officially released and supported by Mozilla? If yes where can I found it?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards

PortableApps is a portable version of Firefox since Firefox 0.8 in 2004 and for Thunderbird way from 1.5.0.10

They use the agent Windows builds with a launcher.

They have been trusted with Firefox and Thunderbird is based from.

I want to use Tbird on several machines and locations. and keep the address books and folders synchronized

Yes, with some work on your part.

E-mail is synchronized automatically if you use IMAP on all machines.

Address book synchronization can be achieved by synchronizing to a "service of address book based on the net. I use Google Contacts and the add-on gContactSync in Thunderbird.

You have not asked about the calendar, but you can also synchronize the lightning calendar in Thunderbird for a service like Google Calendar.

I am able to share email address books and my calendar between Thunderbird (under LInux and Windows 7) and also on Android based tablets and phones.

If you want to do the hard, you can synchronize Thunderbird on multiple computers by porting its profile among them.

You also might consider Portable Thunderbird running from a USB key and just get your email on your.

OK I have neen searching around on portableapps.com for Thunderbird.

You see you do not actually use Mozilla Thunderbird desktop, you use a product that has been modified by a third party and really should ask in this forum of products.

The Profile Manager is not portable. It is just not supported by Thunderbird Portable because it will break things.

  • Can I use the same profile of TB on my laptop and PC via Onedrive or iCloud? If so, how?

I know that I can move my TB profile location and create new ones using Profile Manager. I did it using my account Onedrive and TB works very well. It would be very useful to be able to use the same profile Onedrive of two PC, but is it possible and how can I do? Thank you very much.

It is possible, but prone to failure.
You can not at the same time share a profile
The network speed is essential. Portable Thunderbird and a USB would be a better solution.

  • How can I get all of my subfolders of Yahoo appears in Mozilla

I installed Mozilla Thunderbird on my Home PC and portable office. On my PC my all subfolders have been imported automatically. E-mail POP accounts can only connect to the server, check the Inbox for new messages and download from the server Inbox to the Inbox email account in Thunderbird. It's pop mail how the accounts work.

You can get the other emails in other files downloaded by logging into webmail and move again emails in the Inbox, and then click GetMail.
Suggest you make it a folder at the same time.

E-mail accounts IMAP see a distant view of the folders on the server. Subscribed folders. You can also choose to synchronize folders.

If you want to see the various server files, you must use the IMAP protocol.
You cannot change a pop in an imap, there are many differences.

Create a new existing email account and make sure it is an IMAP setting before you click 'Done '. Use the button "Manual Configuration" if necessary to change the settings.

  • I can only import emails from outlook express to TB for an identity. How to import emails to my other account identities?

I use a portable Thunderbird version because I want to use TB to collect e-mails for a few different accounts that I have scattered on different machines.
For example, I [email protected] on the machine one and two. [email protected] is also on the machines one and two.
After setting up the accounts of one and two in the mobile application, I can import only messages on behalf of one. I tried several times over the past two days. Thunderbird does not import the messages on behalf of two.
What should I do to import e-mail messages for several accounts in Thunderbird?

This method of identity apply to your facility?

Remember also that OE messages are the eml files that can be moved directly from Explorer in a folder of TB, for example was created under local folders.

as incredible as it may seem. MozBackup has nothing to do with Mozilla or Thunderbird. If you have any questions about mozbackup I don't really know where you're going.

I have now two portable Windows 8, but I installed Thunderbird on one of them (an Acer). He gave continual problems. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it made no difference. I had no problem on this machine with other programs and no problem with Thunderbird on Windows 7 machines.

  • My newly installed TB has disappeared from my computer portable 64-bit Windows 8.1. How can I prevent this from happening again?

When I installed new cases of tuberculosis 'portable' a few minutes ago, all seemed well unfold. I downloaded an accumulation of messages from my server and started the implementation of filters and the archive folders. Suddenly, TB froze and then disappeared! When I clicked on the icon, I was presented with a blank, new, TB and asked if I wanted a new email address, etc., as I had been before (and refused). I went ahead and download my messages in the 'empty' TB, but how can I keep the content to disappear again?
I wonder if this is a problem with the wrong Windows 8.1. Any ideas?
    Thank you

The examples I have seen are Windows 8 back to a previous state when something goes wrong with the boot and Thunderbirds gets cancelled out of existence. Creating a restore point in Windows after you install Thunderbird could help.

  • Installation of Firefox (latest) removes Thunderbird (latest) on my Win7 64 system. Run this combination for years without problems, so far.

When Firefox bombs Thunderbird, I re - install Thunderbird and it bombards Firefox. When I say "bombs" I mean that the Thunderbird quick launch icon turns into a generic icon and Thunderbird will not run. The same thing happens when I have Firefox running and I install Thunderbird. I did a scan for malware using Malwarebytes and Norton and my system is clean. I am able to run the Chrome and IE 10 without problem. I am confused and I would appreciate your suggestions. I am running a dual boot Win 7 and 8 system no problem except for this. I have not tried on the partition of Windows 8, I use Windows 7 almost exclusively. The only other thing I can think is that it is a relatively new computer generation and I used MozBackup to transfer my files to messages and contacts from my old computer to Thunderbird and Firefox to new construction. Not sure if this could be the cause of the problem that I am experiencing.

    Thank you
