  I'm looking for a laptop for a friend. The symptoms are that it stops, usually within 5 minutes. Battery does not charge, and the machine can only be booted up with current continuous. I tried to run with the battery in and out. Seems to make no difference.

  I read the comments about battery problems, I realize that the person failed the replacement period. My question for Lenovo is:

  The laptop will continue to stop erratic until I can get them a spare battery? The original thought was that the machine was badly infected - I was trying to backup photos and documents to an external drive when I realized it would break on a consistent basis - no matter if the battery is fixed. Is there an option in the BIOS to get the machine to run only on current continuous - I guess that the battery provides a kind of essential service at the Mo which is not allowing it to stay in place and running.

  Had a BB 8900 yesterday and trying to sort out all my contacts on my PC so I can sync them with the BB. But - everything I've tried has problems:

  Thunderbird - does not work with BB (spin the Desktop Manager 4.7 version)

  Other free programs available - not sure that I trust them, and they are free for a reason...

  I'm willing to pay a small amount for some useful software for maintaining contacts - he would use 1) sync with BB, 2) sync with Gmail and 3) just to maintain a list of contacts on my PC.

  I have no idea what password you need, but usually, you have to set the right permission on the folder that you want to share on the network.
  I connected my two computers (both with Win XP) with a crossover network cable.
  Then I put the same name of working group on both computers and manually assigned IP address; IE: 192.168.50.1 and 192.168.50.2
  Then, I selected the folder-> properties-> sharing tab.
  Here you can set the permissions.

  Using the WiFi network, you must set the option for * Ad-hoc network.

I threw this side did not know why he was there... I got it all the time. The Genius Bar only did me not know I needed.   I can hazard a guess why the keyboard works best with the extension. It can be without it, the cable is too short and shoot the connection enough to disconnect. It's just a guess.

• Problem with "Extended desktop", integrated display is disabled

  I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch early 2011 with OSX El Capitan 10.11.4.

  Just before I upgraded to 10.11.4, I use to work with "extended desktop" using the built-in screen and the external monitor. Since the update, whenever I connect the external display it goes automatically to the external screen and completely disables the built-in screen. Sometimes removing the HDMI cable (with mini port adapter), putting the MacBook to sleep, log in again and the Mac, the awakening back on two screens, but most of the time he spends just go back to the external display only. This gets really annoying.

  When you use the external monitor display poster preferences only options of this monitor and my arrangement tab is missing (like the built-in display is temporarily disabled). By clicking on "Detect displays" (after pressing option to show) doesn't change anything. Using the brightness to toggle keys mirroring does not work either.

  Is - it there anyway that I can configure so worth by default "Extended desktop" with built-in monitor on and external display?

  It seems that your computer does not work with your monitor external because you upgrade 10.11.4. I would use these steps in the following article to help you solve problems that:

  Get help with graphical problems on external displays connected to your Mac.

  Restart your Mac in safe mode to reset the default display resolution.

  If booting safe mode doesn't resolve the problem, reset your Mac NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their default values.

  I have a laptop Toshiba Portege R200 with Win XP Version 2002 SP2 with a Toshiba Software modem on COM3. When I dial a number with the modem there is no sound, even if the modem work and connect to my server.

  · The sound works for other applications and Windows itself, so I know the speakers work.
  · I moved my hard drive on another laptop and had the same problem, so I know that it's a software issue and not a hardware problem.
  · In Control Panel sounds and peripheral Audio, the volume is set to high and the Volume, phone, Mono control Out and other volume settings are all rich.
  · In the modems Control Panel Options and the modem speaker volume is set to high
  · In the properties of the Modem, it indicates that the device is working properly
  · Through HyperTerminal, I sent the AT & F, ATM2 and ATL3 commands to be sure, has everything been settled properly (and the answer to all was OK)

  Someone at - it see this problem with the modem doesn't do not all sound? Suggestions?

  I have a desktop computer Pavilion P7-1036 with integrated video, Intel i3, 3.1 ghz and 8 GB of ram. already updated the PSU to power internal 500 Watt power supply (ATX-ILG-500R2) run Windows 10 as well.

  I want to upgrade to a video card with HDMI and make a few plays of light. I tried two cards without success, each installation ok but monitor freezes on the splash screen or stays black.
