Portege R600 - the touchpad cursor is out of control

I have problems with the touchpad on a Portégé R600 running Windows 7.
The cursor is out of control.

When I'm scrolling a page and you have to push the slider on the page, the screen scrolls down out of control.
Sometimes I can fix it up by double tapping the touchpad, but also often, it does not work.

When I type the cursor will jump to another area of the page and insert the typing it.
The combination of these problems sometimes makes the laptop almost unusable.

I noted that several forum users have brought up the variations of this problem, but received no response.

Anyone can shed light on how to fix?

Hello

I think that it s a temporal question regarding the sensitivity of the touchpad settings and the Microsoft windows OS.

First, you must change the settings for the touchpad as PalmCheck sensitivity and sensitivity to touch.
You can do this in Control Panel-> mouse-> tab-> settings the touchpad device settings

In addition, you must make sure that the operating system is clean and that some background process don't affect the functionality of the touchpad. In many cases the touchpad don't work properly because of system overhead.
Clean the registry with CCleaner, don't disable some no necessary process in msconfig and at least update the touchpad drivers.

  • Satellite Pro 6100: cursor moves out of control on the screen

    Hey guys,.

I'm seriously going crazy right about now... my problem is the following:

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100, Windows XP Professional with SP2, memory: 512 MB.

About two weeks ago my cursor began to move up and down whenever I pressed the space bar. It has gotten worse since. My cursor moves out of control across the screen (there are usually in the upper right or lower left) and I can not recover. I know for a fact that it has nothing to do with my external mouse (optical), because this problem also occurs when I use my pointing device. Even in safe mode.

    The thing I've tried:
    Ran Spybot: Search and Destroy
    Ran Adaware
    Xoftspy RAN
A ran Symantic Antivirus 10 (complete analysis of the system in safe mode)
    New keyboard
    New motherboard

Nothing helps. I'm this close to format my pc. Does anyone have a suggestion of what to do?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

I put t he understand. You have changed the keyboard and the motherboard, but you did not recover the OS with the Toshiba Recovery CD.
The first procedure that you should do is the new installation of the OS before you change or replace anything on the laptop.

Unfortunately, it is not easy to say why it occurs. A friend of mine has a similar problem with the cursor. The cursor has jumped on the screen and it was not possible to open applications. It has (or service) resolved with the replacement of keyboard.

If the new installation OS doesn't fix this strange cursor, so I recommend you contact Toshiba.

  • Portege R600 - the noise of the FAN

The system is a Portege R600-102.

When it was new, it was already noted that the CPU fan was unusually noisy when he started.
Loaded with the latest drivers and BIOS, system becomes louder, especially now when its warmer outside.
Fan and fan duct has been cleaned, no problem of dust.

Does anyone else have this problem or noticed this behavior?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You can reduce the activity fan and noise by changing the settings in energy of Toshiba.
Please open and edit the parameters of the method of cooling. Upgrade the lowest.

I do the same on my laptop and now runs a lot quieter.

BTW: what operating system do you use?

  • Touchpad cursor gets hard to control "woozy"

Recently, I went back to using my Mac Pro 2009 after using a Macbook to the past two years for most. I upgraded to El Capitan first, and I decided to start a new account because I've been migrating the same account for 20 years. So all is cool enough for most.

I had used a magic with the MacBook Pro touchpad because I hated the portable computers clean touchpad. Having become accustomed to the use of the touch pad, that I decided to use it with the Mac Pro. I use the touchpad, even for the last two years.

Here's the problem: I have not yet identified which triggers it but what is happening is that the slider will frequently and suddenly become what I can only describe as 'under the weather', and I hope it makes sense. It becomes slow and its response and tends to overcompensate sometimes I have to be very careful and precise and slow in my movements when it's like that because if I use my hands the way I would normally be the cursor will overshoot.

It does not have it for long periods of time, but he does not often. And it makes me a little nuts. Any ideas?

Really?  No one has an answer here?  I'm going crazy... and now my stylus is dead, so I am forced to use the touchpad! (I can't use a mouse because of repetitive stress injury)

If anyone has any ideas, please share!

  • Use the Spotlight UC is out of control without reason

I find more and more Mac running 10.11.4 where Spotlight is just out of control without no reason that I can discern.

If nobody is logged on, Spotlight uses no processor.

As soon as someone connects, Spotlight resumes the process of using CPU number one.  He is currently at 166,4% (of multiple cores).

No matter if I disable mdutil and kill Spotlight... Spotlight returns and eats CPU.

    Reboots don't matter.

10.11.4 reinstall combo did not help.

Clearing the cache didn't help. / System/library and / users.

Create a new user and login, Spotlight jumps to first place.

    Secure startup, Spotlight pops up.

    Network cable, no difference.

First aid was clean when it is started from the recovery Partition.

What the hell is happening here?

    Two things come to mind:

    1) restart mode without failure, then normally again

    (2) force Spotlight to reindex

  • Flag: L0N79UA #ABA: disable the touchpad

Hi, I just bought this laptop and I'm used to having a laptop with a button to disable the touchpad.  This machine doesn't have one that comes out of the button.  I use a wireless mouse with my laptop and I want to exit the touchpad while using the wireless mouse.  How can I do to do that.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You can turn off when you use an external mouse, but you will need to turn on when you want to use the touchpad. Please try:

Control Panel > mouse > Clickpad parameters.

    Check Disable internal...

    Click apply/Ok

    Kind regards.

  • Problems with the sound function and scrolling on the touchpad on my Satellite A500/026

    Hello

I just brought a new laptop A500/026 and when I play music from my ipod I get a little static pop sound at regular intervals during the song... this happens on all my music. I accidentally scroll horizontally through my touhpad and my screen minimizes or maximizes. I try to find how I did it, but can never seem to return to its normal state. There is obviously some sort of function here, can someone help me with it? I installed the x 64 bit version of windows 7.

    Thank you

    Eddie

    Hello

The touchpad settings are placed in Control Panel-> mouse
You can find the additional tab which would be you can access touchpad properties.

As I know the touchpad properties contains many different options that allows you to configure the scrolling function, to activate and assign different actions to the touchpad corners, etc.

    Hi guys,.

First of all, as a new user, I want to apologize if some of my difficulties have already explored in some other threads, although I searched and not found.

    I bought a Toshiba Portege R600 - 12 H with Windows 7 Professional.

    Currently I have 3 problems:

-My touchpad moves the cursor without that nobody has pressed the button. By example, if I move the slider at the top of this text and start typing, in a few moments I'll be typing at the top of this text. Anyone have any ideas?

-Because I'm having all questions of this pillow, I have a bluetooth mouse that works very well. I keep on disable the pad with e FN F9 work, but disable it, I am also disable the fingerprint sensor. When I try to log in with my fingerprints, nothing happens, and if I try to run the utility of fingerprinting toshiba, it displays a message saying: "it is not possible to connect the sensor.

-Technology mobile broadband 3g toshiba does not. It recognizes the SIM card, but I am not able to make any type of connection to my ISP.

Thank you for any assistance that you could bring about that.

    Hello

Do you use Manager to connect 3g wireless or use other dashboard software? or a dial-up connection dircet?

  • Portege Z series - the mouse cursor moves its own

When I start my series Portege Z the cursor of the mouse moves by its own. Alfer several minutes (less than an hour) it stops and it works properly.
For your information on the laptop, the Antivirus is installed and updated: AVIRA and Spybot

What I tried to solve the problem:
    (1) I downloaded and installed the latest version of the pointer ALPS driver device that even so the same version was already installed. No result, same behavior
    (2) I tried with an external USB mouse, disable touchpad/pointing stick. No result, same behavior

    Suggestions, please?
    Thanks in advance

Maybe you can try to start with a Live CD/USB. If this problem occurs also with the OS Live the question is related to laptop. If not, it s a Windows problem and perhaps a recovery would solve the problem.

  • Portege R600-13Z - Toshiba utility SMS - slow / stop when the SIM is in!

    Hello

    Portege R600-13Z running XP Pro.

Recently updated the firmware and the Wireless Manager to try to get 3g / GPRS comms to work at all. Updated worked a treat and have now great comms.

Utility of SMS does not work too well if. Very, very slow or crashes.

Wierdness: out the SIM card to use the phone to send a few texts and with the SIM on SMS utility works very well (!) starts, allows composition, everything except the real /sending/ of the text, which is of course not possible because the SIM card is somewhere else.

Anyone encountered this problem, and is there a solution?

    Thank you very much

    Evan

    > took out the SIM card to use the phone to send a few texts and with the card SIM SMS utility works great
If you noticed delays in using DMD utility only with the inserted SIM card?

Hmm I m not very well why this happens, but I know it s not recommended to insert the SIM card if the system is already running.
You must shut down the laptop, must insert the SIM card and then you should power the device in place.
Then you could test this once more.

  • Portege R600 of fingerprint problem: error: could not open the specified database

    Hello

I am trying to give the registration of fingerprints for my Toshiba Portege R600-101 and I get the above error.
I tried also on windows XP and Vista.

Has anyone with the same problem or anyone suggesting a solution?

I uninstalled the truesuite Access Manager but still the same problem.

    See you soon.

    Hello

I noticed a new update for software fingerprinting for protected R600.
Remove the old application of fingerprints, restart the laptop, clean the registry and the system using a 3rd party too (CCLeaner is free and not bad).
    Then reboot again.

Download the fingerprint on the page of the European driver Toshiba Software and install again.

    Check it out!

  • Portege R600 - how to use the external monitor on the docking automatically

Hi - I just got a new Portege; R600-102. It's a great machine - very light and fast.

I connect to a Slim port replicator to the office and I wish I could anchor and automatically use the external monitor without opening the laptop. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to do it? This process has worked well on my recently retired Dell X 300.

    More precisely:
    # I have the laptop closed Portégé and standby mode
    # I anchor in the Slim Port Replicator (SPR)
    # I press the button 'on' on the SPR
    # I see the message "recovery windows" and the bars of the countdown on the external monitor. (So I know it's connected and you can see the external monitor)
    # The laptop turns on but use the laptop screen (private) LCD
    # I have to open it and manually tell it 'out to watch.
    What can be automatically?

    Thanks for the tips.
