Problems with the sound function and scrolling on the touchpad on my Satellite A500/026

Hello

I just brought a new laptop A500/026 and when I play music from my ipod I get a little static pop sound at regular intervals during the song... this happens on all my music. I accidentally scroll horizontally through my touhpad and my screen minimizes or maximizes. I try to find how I did it, but can never seem to return to its normal state. There is obviously some sort of function here, can someone help me with it? I installed the x 64 bit version of windows 7.

Thank you

Eddie

Hello

The touchpad settings are placed in Control Panel-> mouse
You can find the additional tab which would be you can access touchpad properties.

As I know the touchpad properties contains many different options that allows you to configure the scrolling function, to activate and assign different actions to the touchpad corners, etc.

Check it!

  • Problem with the touchpad doesn't work is not on the computer.

Today, I was on YouTube, listen to music, when I turned the volume up to full. My laptop (ASUS) is a VERY high - pitched shrill sound that would not stop until I turned the laptop on sleep. When I turned on the laptop back, the screeching stopped but my Touch Pad stopped working. Fortunately, I have a USB mouse which I use now. I tried following the instructions to activate the keypad, but it does not work. I restarted my computer, and that did nothing.

    Help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Hi Lucie,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

What is brand and model your computer?

Problems with the touchpad can occur due to a number of causes, including cables that are not connected properly, lack of updates, corrupt or drivers incompatible or because of hardware problems. So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Try to run the suite of equipment fixit and see if the problem still occurs.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows

    Method 2:

See the additional steps provided in the following article.

  • HP 15 laptop: problem with the touchpad and the key "stuck."

    Hello!

Last weekend, I have an irritating problem with my HP 15 laptop. Bought two years ago and upgrades to Windows 10 a year ago.

First of all, my touchpad started to not work properly. It "freezes" and I can't use it until I click the ESC key, but it doesn't last and "freezes" again a few seconds later. Then, everytime I open a window where there is a text box (Start menu, edge browser, Control Panel, etc.), the number 5 is entered automatically and permanently, as if the button 5 has been blocked. I did a quick check and button 5 do not seem physically stuck.

Yesterday, I restored the system to the factory settings, so I'm back to 8.1 for Windows and then upgraded to Windows 10. Everything seems to work fine, but this morning, the problem was back. Is there something I can do? What is the problem caused by Windows 10 or the computer? Should I restore it to Windows 8.1? Everything worked great til last weekend, I don't know what that was.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Welcome to the HP support community @gouch3.

I understand that you have a problem with the keyboard and the touchpad on your laptop from HP 15.

Have you tried to use a keyboard external and mouse at all?

Have you tried to go to Safe Mode to see if the problems persist in there?

Have you tried to perform a material or forced reset Reset?

Did you do a test of material?

    Have you updated your drivers?

It could be a driver problem to be able to look at that for you, I need your model number. I wish I could give you an answer or not, but at this point without the troubleshooting results and the model number, it is difficult for me to say.

I can say that if everything works in point 8.1 of Windows without problem, the driver TROUBLESHOOTING is a great place to start. Please try to follow these steps for the keyboard and the touchpad of troubleshooting:

    • Beginning
    • Search for Device Manager
    • Search results, open Device Manager.
    • Click on display
    • Show hidden devices.
    • Click the arrow next to keyboards.
    • Right click on the name of the keyboard device.
    • Select uninstall.
    • Continue deleting the names of devices in the category keyboards until the feature of all the names have been uninstalled.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

    Touchpad:

    • Type of research, "Device Manager."
    • Click on Device Manager,
    • Expand mice and other pointing devices.
    • Right click on the TouchPad,
    • Click on uninstall.
    • Restart the computer laptop twice,
    • Reinstall the TouchPad card.

I found a document of troubleshooting for you to try also called Portable keyboard troubleshooting. Please be sure to follow the steps described in this document.

The best document I have for TouchPad problems is the use and troubleshooting of the TouchPad and ClickPad document.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers that need to put up-to-date.

  • Problem with the touchpad: Tap to click does not work if I use a standard account

    Hi all

I have a problem with my laptop that I don't understand and I need help from the community.
As the title says... If I connect to my laptop using a standard account the touchpad does not work if I try to tap to click. Left and right buttons work, move the slider works, works of scrolling, but endearing tape... not even a single tap. If I log in with my account as an administrator, the touchpad works like a charm, no problems. Tap to click and everything you want. If I disconnect the admin account and sign in as a standard user, the problems are back again. I can move the cursor, click on the two buttons (left, right), but I can't type to click...

I tried to reinstall the driver for the touchpad (which is MOMENTUM...) but it did not. I tried to see if there is any option that can prevent this tapping or something... but in the control panel > Touchpad > Tap is turned on. A strange thing in the control panel of the Touchpad is that [when loggend as a standard user] I get an error "unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click on continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click on exit the application will close immediately. "and a new line saying"index was outside the bounds of the array. If I click on continue the error disappears, but reappears if stationary "double-tap" enable/disable option. If I click on leave the Touchpad Control Panel closes...

All this trouble occurs only when I use the standard account. With the administrator account, I don't get any errors so I soar options, disable them, activate them and most importantly, the tap to click works.

What is the problem with the standard account?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1.

    Can someone help me please?

    Hi Johnxf,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

As he works in an administrator account, then probably your standard user account have been damaged and would need a fix.

Follow the article provided below to fix the corrupted user profile:

  • Problem with the software Modem on Satellite Pro L40

I tried to set up a connection Dial-Up Networking on a Satellite Pro L40 running Vista and can't get the modem to talk to the modem from the ISP. The connection appears OK and then you can hear the modem dial, but when the ISP picks up there is a bit of yelling and then my modem abandons the connection and I get the standard vista connection failed box.

    Things I've tried:
-latest drivers for the 2.1.77.0 modem (and the rest of the system) downloaded from Toshiba and installed OK
-all the updates of windows installed
-removal of the modem in the Manager of peripherals and re - install
-suppression of the agrsmdel.exe and then re-install
-try different cables to plug into the phone jack
-several different ISPS and phone numbers
-reduce the maximum speed of the connection
-connection to the same ISP with my Satellite L10; works very well never have time!
-using the windows to diagnose and repair the tool (set last resort!); says that the modem works fine and can not find a problem with the connection

Is it possible that the update of the BIOS on the laptop would make a difference (currently v 1.60)? I did some research on Google and found messages on various forums, which suggests that the connection between the motherboard and the modem chip is a little doubtful for all the Agere Soft Modem; If the case is it something I can fix myself or I should go for warranty repair?

    Hello

I'm sure that there is no problem with your modem, but with the configuration or even s ISP modem. I recommend you to speak with the support of the ISP.

  • Problems with the installation of recovery - Satellite A300D - BSOD

    Hello

The laptop in question (TOSHIBA Satellite A300D) recently stopped starting (BSoD).

So, I tried using the recovery disk, but there is no help. What happens is:
-After about 10 minutes of waiting, the first language menu load, so I click on "next".
    - Then I again click Next and accept the message that my HARD drive will be erased
    - Then I see a cmd prompt that says "try to remove all the letters of partitions possible...". »
-There is also a minimized command prompt that says something like "RAID failed to initialize."
    -And then nothing happens.

Is this a hardware problem? I also tried a full installation (instead of recovery), which, even once, is simply not. None of the errors is - it just freezes.

    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you.

It is not easy to tell what can be the problem, but if you were not able to install the OS by using two different facilities CDs/DVDs, so there must be a problem with the HARD drive.

    The warranty is still valid?
I mean you can contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and explain the situation. They can swap the HDD and again test the recovery procedure.
Can you get somewhere 2,5 SATA HDD for testing?

  • Error message "A problem with the cooling system" on Satellite A660

    Hi all

Hope I can get help here. I got about 5 laptop computers HP after each of them had problems and errors. I got sick of them and so got a refund and bought a high spec A660-1FH.

The A660 is a great laptop for two days until yesterday when I started having a saying of warning message "a problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off the power immediately and return it for service "."

The cpu fan works fine you can here it turns and the temperature of the processor i5 - 460 m is around 40 degrees for two hearts - that seems normal to me. I noticed that this happens only when running on battery, and if you switch from eco utility to the power saving mode. Its fine when running on the "balanced" power setting The fan is louder before when this message appears.

Like its less than 28 days my retailer swapped it for a brand new immediately. Got a new home page, and the same message reappears. Everyone knows this. Like two laptops had this, I was wondering if it is normal that the laptop A660 series or if it was really a hardware problem?

I tried to update the eco utility and the bios of the laptop, but the two are the latest versions. Can someone help or share if they have a similar problem with their laptop?

    Thank you

In front of me, I have Satellite A660-13 q (PSAW3E) and I have about 6 weeks now. It works almost 10 hours a day and so far I didn't notice this message or anything that may be suspect for the operation of the equipment.

I put really know why this happen on your laptop and don t think that there is nothing you can do about it.
I would trade it again. What you can also try is to contact the closest service Toshiba. Make a call, explain the situation and ask if they can help you with this.

  • I have a problem with the touchpad does not not on Windows 7.

Original title: help. My touchpad scroll has stopped working.

I have a laptop of Acer Aspire 5750z-4830. Touchpad scrolling does not scroll when I try. How can I put it to the top after that I took it to be repaired? Since I got it home now it won't work. And I don't have the cd to reinstall.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forum. I understand that the touchpad scroll has stopped working.  I'll help you with this problem.

Before troubleshooting, provide us with information.

  • Problems with the graphics card on Satellite Pro M10

Hi, this is my first post on the forum. I'm not a pro with computers or anything... the problem I have with my laptop is similar to the one in this thread:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=26849&TSTART=0

I spent half the day trying to figure out if my graphics card is broken, but since I'm a newbie with this stuff, I'm still not sure. :(

This is what makes my M10. I'm trying to describe the symptoms that detailed as possible, but I'm German, so please excuse my lack of words in some places.

    1. when I turn it on, the laptop goes through the BIOS and give me scrambled BACK-screens and a slightly Warped windows loading bar. There is the consistency check, marked by black bars connecting the top of the screen down. After the audit, the screen goes black and nothing happens, or the screen of will just show me consistency check, do nothing. Be that as it may, I have to turn off the power (I think) and restart the laptop.

    2. sometimes the laptop goes through the BIOS checking & conistency with a few graphical shortcomings. The office is anything but shredded when he gets to the screen of the Windows user. The static method is if serious I don't even know where is the button turn off.

    3. sometimes Notepad starts very well, with the only graphic problem being the windows loading bar. When I go into Windows, the laptop pulls me a blue screen and stops immediately.

    4. sometimes, the laptop works fine for about an hour or two. After I rebooted, I have the same problems listed above, once again.

    5. If I open Device Manager and disable the graphics card, the laptop works very well. I have to lower the screen resolution and colors, but I can watch videos on youtube and everything. Finally, the laptop gets very hot on the bottom and the screen goes crazy again, so I turn the damn thing off.

I don't know what that means! If my graphics card is broken, the screen should be all static, ALL the time? Not just sometimes more,... could sometimes less be some sort of communication problem between the graphics card and cpu? Please help me with this!

Another thing I'm not sure about, even after reading the thread I linked above - can I replace the graphics card or not? Everyone said something different in the other thread...

    see you soon,
    Cozmo

Edit: maybe I will add when I got the screen scrambled and everything. I installed Civilization 4, just to check if my satellite pro can handle, and everything went well for a while. The screen then haywire and I rebuilt my whole system, but display problems did not disappear completely. They were gone for almost a month, and now they are 'back' or something.

    Hi Cozmo

I'm not a technician but here nobody needs technical knowledge to see that there certainly is hardware problem. I also believe that this problem occurs due to the graphics card. Graphics card is part of the motherboard and it cannot be traded separately. The entire motherboard must be exchanged.

In my opinion, you have two options: either contact the authorized service provider in your country and speak with them, what can be done, or try to get the motherboard used. If you are lucky, you can find it on eBay. I already bought several hardware components for my old Satellite P10 on eBay.

Sorry Cozmo but I do not see any other logical solution for you.

    Good luck!

  • Tecra S1 - problems with the touchpad after update BIOS to 2.50

    Hello
After the BIOS-update to version 2.5, the touchpad does nothing. From the docking station, the l' option option mouse PS2 works without any problem. Starting late, the touchpad no longer works. Normally - before the update - the touchpad began its work immediately after starting not rooted.
What can I do to reactivate the touchpad?
    Juvenay clevain

    Hello

Are you sure that your touchpad was not disabled?

I mean the FN + F9 key combination to activate and disable the touchpad.

This is why you should check this first.

On the other hand a 3rd mouse driver part could affect the functionality of touchpad too.

In my opinion, you should try to reinstall the driver for the touchpad and test it without connected part 3 mouse.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A300-1EG: problem with the touchpad after installing Windows 7

    Hello!

I had a problem with my touchpad since I installed Windows 7 (64-bit version) on my laptop (Toshiba) A300-1EG.

I tried many different solutions to this problem.
I checked the alignment of the touchpad (be it on) in the BIOS, I tried to install several drivers (on a site of Synaptics, automatically by Windows) and none of these work. Of course, I tried FN + F9 key combination.
When I check the alignment of the touchpad in the Control Panel, everything seems fine. It is written, that "device working properly.

I have Toshiba Software, what may be the cause of the problem?
But I have no idea where I can find something.

    I'd appreciate any help.

I hope to be understandable - English is not my mother tongue :) Thank you very much in advance for any ideas. :)

    Hi mate

I'm not quite sure what problem you have but you should first try to install the necessary drivers touchpad m.
Maybe you used the wrong driver in the past

So Sat A300-1EG belongs to the series of PSAG4E.
The European driver Toshiba page does not provide a special touchpad driver for Win 7 for this device.

But I noticed that Win 7 64 bit drivers touchpad (Alps & Synaptics) for Satellite L500 PSLS3E series is released on the European driver page.
Try both drivers Touch Pad for this device and test it!

    Welcome them

  • Satellite 1905 - problem with the touchpad after awakening from Hibernation/standby

    Greetings.

    I've known a few interesting problems with my Satellite 1905 - S301.
Whenever he wakes up from hibernation/standby my touchpad stopped accepting "taps" as a click on the left button of the mouse. It works normally with finger motion detection, but stops at all but it is quite annoying to restart the machine whenever he returns from hibernation mode.

I've done a small workaround and after I close the laptop lid still works but this isn't the way it should work, I would have preferred that she either Hibernate than running for 10 hours without any sense;).

Can someone give me the solution to this problem, please?
    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards
    Akar

    Hello

I agree with you. It s very boring to restart the machine each time to use the touchpad.
This problem appears on the first day?

I think there might be a software problem and, possibly, the new installation of operating system recovery CD Toshiba could help.
I know, the complete installation is not the best solution, but it might help.

You should also check you the touchpad. Satellite 1905 - S301 was designed for the U.S. market and so I checked the American website for available drivers.
It seems that 5.3.203.2 is a newer version of the Alps touchpad driver for Windows XP.

I suggest to reinstall the touchpad driver and check if there is no improvement.
