Portege R700 - impossible to pass to Windows 10

I have a Portege r700 with original Windows 7 OEM installation.

Windows 7 is updated and program update Windows upgrade me to Windows 10 offer.

The upgrade process begins very well, download & pre-configures all the stuff, and then finally ask me to reboot the system to continue with the upgrade.

After a few seconds, the restart process is launched and load... the current Windows 7 system, saying that there was an error during the upgrade process.

I did some tests; I'm also a fan of Linux, so I tried to boot the system with a LiveCD of my distributions preferred: after loading of the quick menu asking what I want to do (the liveCD boot, installation, diagnose, etc), it restarts... and show me again the quick menu (quick menu is GRUB, kernel functionality has not been loaded right now).

I understand that 'something' (and I guess it's system restore Toshiba) let me start on something other than the original partition, preventing the upgrade of Windows 10.

Any idea?

I was offered the free update on my R700-12U and R930-1DK Toshibas--and did the updates without any problem. However, if I understand it right, the R700 is not on the list of evolutionary units, but it has worked very well on my own, from up-to-date W7.

    Hello

I assume you mean on the fonts in Internet Explorer window.
    Right?

Please check the display option in the menu bar. Zoom must be set to 100% and Textsize must be set to medium.
In addition, you can check the settings in the control panel-> display-> appearance tab
There is option called the size of the font. In my case it s set to normal.

    Give it a try.

  • Impossible to pass to Windows 10 because of the chipsets Intel family

When I checked my Windows 10 icon, thinking I would book just my Windows 10, I found that it will not properly work on my computer because of the chipsets Mobile Intel (r) 965 family; I have problems with my screen.

This happened on the older of my two computers.  It's a Gateway laptop.  When I bought him he ran at the origin of Windows Vista, but I've upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium.

I know very little of this kind of question.  Is it possible to make changes and that it can be upgraded to Windows 10 or would be - it will be impossible or so problematic that it would be easier and cheaper just buy something again or it leave it as what?

The reservation application indicates that I have incompatible hardware (IE. CPU, video card, printer) or software, what do I do?

You can check the software developer and supplier of equipment for the latest updates before performing the upgrade.

  • Impossible to pass to Windows 8.1

    Hello.

I just bought a 2nd hand Helix with warranty until 2016, of mind running Windows 8 Pro.

When I tried to switch to Win 8.1, I got a message saying that this version I have is not eligible for the upgrade to Win 8.1. I checked and found that the version of Windows that I checked, but has an expiration in October 2015. The worst news is when I called Miscroft and was informed that my version of windows is not genuine!

If the propeller should not come pre-installed with OEM Win 8 Pro (at least that is what it says on the box)? Since then I tried to create a recovery disk to reset the machine to its state of origin, but without success (I could create the drive but seems it does not recognize the update process...)

My question is: is he away from reset my Helix in its original condition with windows 8 Pro so that I can go to 8.1 and earn 10 later?

    Thank you

    Quoc

Not all the Versions of Windows 8 Pro are able to upgrade directly to Windows Pro 8.1.

Not all of the Helix are sold with Windows 8 Pro Edition.

So I think it would help to install Windows Pro 8.1 on your propeller: upgrade of windows 8 pro for windows 8.1 I'ts not the problem that your Windows is not genuine.

To get your key to recent Windows, you can use can Key Finder 2.0

To install Windows 8.1 Pro, you can use the key GCRJD-8NW9H-F2CDX-CCM8D-9D6T9

  • Impossible to pass to Windows 10 (incompatible application which is more installed)

    Hello

I'm having trouble upgrading to Windows 10.  Little app on my toolbar was told that my "Acronis True Image 2012" program will have to be uninstalled in order to upgrade.  I uninstalled this app and rebooted my computer.  However, Windows still leaves me not upgrade, saying that Acronis is not compatible.  It has been uninstalled well and I tried to run the compatibility checker again by opening the Task Scheduler as an administrator and through a command prompt.  Even after that, it still shows on the "upgrade to windows 10' pop up who he last run much earlier today.

Please let me know how to solve this problem I would like to put to the day before he went!  Thank you!

I see.  I'm not aware anyway to erase this program... but you can try using the button 'update now' here?  There is also an option with a multimedia tool and installation using a USB key or drive would you get installed along quickly and easily.  It works for upgrades, too, not just "clean installs", but of course you can do it if you wanted to now or any point in the future, using the disc/USB key.

  • Impossible to pass to Windows 10

I am trying to upgrade my laptop Windows 7 Professional to windows 10.  I tried to do the upgrade based on the web, but it is suspended on the verification of the process of updates.

Have also tried to download the iso and media creation tool, I get a message saying that I have to close the tool and restart the computer, what I've done.

Nobody knows what is happening there?

    Flashman

Run the Windows Update troubleshooting tool:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Update-Troubleshooter

    Also:

    Retry the upgrade manually:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
  • Impossible to pass to Windows 8 Windows 7

I have a copy of Windows 8 on my USB key and the process to get that the installation has been done right. When I run the Setup, very early works. I entered the product key and there is no problem. The problem I do face, however, is that when I get to the part where it says 'what needs your attention', my web browser opens with the same Web page that is supposed to be in this application.

You know how it would normally show you all the things you have to change before moving on to Windows 8, right? Who gets normally displayed in this window. For me, however, it gets displayed in the web browser.

I took the freedom to download the picture of what is happening to me, so that you can better understand and see for yourself.

As you can see, whenever I have ask on this page ("what needs your attention"), Firefox opens with the Web page I'm supposed to see in the white box...

My only guess is that somehow, Firefox has permission to open this Web page when the application upgrade should in theory be able to open this file on its own...

Edit: I solved the problem. I uninstalled Firefox and Internet Explorer (which I left it disabled) enabled. After this, I restarted the computer, and when I started the same process in the upgrade program, it worked fine.

OK so I have windows installed on my dell OptiPlex 745 8.1, I uninstalled so I could go to a 64 bit OS. Now it won't let me not reinstall windows 8.1 and says "sorry you can not install the patch because it is not supported by your CPU" I have 8.1 installed before.

Even if your computer's processor is capable of 64-bit, it does not support some Extensions in order to install 64-bit Windows 8.1.

    Hello

Uninstalling Windows Update KB2871389 and then put it back solves the problem for most people who have tried.

You can uninstall it by going to programs and features and by clicking on "View installed updates" at the top to the left. You will need to scroll the list to find it. Then right-click on it to get the option uninstall.

You can also disable security 3rd party programs...

There are a few other reasons that you have this problem, but this is by far the most common.
