Porting android

Hi all

I have a problem with the same android app, I use play book app manager with google chrome, same App work, but even the other very useful don't do not woork like Skype, booking.com, wikipedia... could you tell me how to solve this problem?

Thank you

I read on several forum that for use on BB10 android app is necessary to install the app on google chrome playbook handler to:

1.I install this program PlayBook App Manager 1.9.3

2.i create an extension on google chrome

3.I download the android app from:apps.goodereader.com/playbook/playbook-android-apps/

4.I transfer the file downloaded on PLAYBOOK APP MANAGER on google chrome

5 and the program will install on my BB10 USB cable.

6. If the file is downloaded as a .apk extension, I will convert him on .bar since a dedicated web site

the result is that the app is on my BB10, but when I lunch it the app crash, like Skype, as another useful application.

Thank you for your help

  • Porting Android app - problem with Google Maps

I have an Android app I want to put at the disposal of users of BlackBerry 10 by porting to the Android Runtime of BB. The only stumbling block is that my Android application uses Google Maps API (com.google.android.maps) that does not support the run time. The map screen is only a small feature of the app, and I'm happy to turn it off for BlackBerry users, but is it possible? I don't want to maintain two copies of the request, somehow can code an application so that the conversion to the BAR works, but cards are always available on Android?  I made sure that the reference to the API maps in the Android manifest has the required tag = 'false' and check in my code, if cards are available on the device, but this doesn't seem to be enough.  The Compatibility Checker lists each line in each file of the source code where I make reference to a map object.

    Any help appreciated,

    Jonathan

No, it's not going to work. Save you time trying to find a solution and just copy your project to a new and necessary modifications for blackberry. If you use source control, then you can try to turn to this probject.

By the way. If you want to Google maps in your application, it can be done using a webview and Google API javascript.

I did a port to android app it job well but... Aspect of the Arabic language is not good, as each letter is separated

Please someone help to overcome this problem

    Thank you

Gingerbread AOSPS Arab support is incomplete.  It is much better supported to Jellybean.

It is a big complaint that we get, and this is another reason why we will modernize the runtime.

  • Porting Android to 10 BB

When I am porting the app to Android to BB 10 using Onlinepackage tooler, I get this report as shown below.

    (AndroidManifest.xml) uses-library: android.test.runner

    (com/app/LoginActivity.java:305)class: com.app.LoginActivity uses intent category android.intent.category.HOME)

I am not able to understand what might be changed, should I change anything in the manifest file Andriod?

Another user has faced a similar problem here: error checking in trying to carry application BlackBerry 10 Android

To sum up, the home screen modes are not supported. Because Blackberry10 is a gesture based on OS, there is already a built-in method of your application and return to the home screen, by dragging to the top of the bottom of the screen. Abolition of the use of this intent should resolve the error.

Also note that some types of applications are not supported, including apps from the home screen, Widget apps and apps that are getting more activity.

For the report on android.test.runner, this should be correct according to the docs here, so it's probably just a warning about the use of external libraries.

I had implemented the client side of my android application using apk2bar command line tool, I understand the android.cfg and put the application id and ppg url according to the mail I received regestring the push service bis.

now my question is how does the side Server? How do I send messages? How to receive tokens?

IAM a mobile developer and I have implemented service push for ios, android, bada, platforms windows and each of them had the same logic, but the blackberry is different.

Please help me solve this problem.

the implementation for porting android applications server-side?

    Hello

Push is not supported as of now on the Simulator, you can use a real device BlackBerry to test your install your Android app on.

You can push multiple applications to an initiator to push, but each push-enabled application on the device itself will have its own ID of the application that are associated with him.

  • asking to be a Skype for linux developer

Hello. I looked on the microsoft Web site for a work on Skype for linux and I have not found a job. is there a way I can apply to the development of Skype for linux?

There is no way to apply because, quite simply, there is no employment.

I think that we must accept that Skype for Linux is is more developed. They did him not officially reported, but there is no indication that any additional, major work he will never.

The absence of any form of communication from Microsoft through these forums, the status of the downloads page for this version and the fact that the mods don't seem to do anything if someone swears or breaking the rules all point to 4.3.0.37 the final version of Skype for Linux. I invite a mod or someone from Microsoft, to correct me on this if I'm wrong.

I asked here on porting Android to Linux version and I was told that Microsoft have no news at all on Skype for Linux. If something was being developed that they might say something like: "an update/new version is under development but we are unable to provide a release date for the moment..." "The total lack of news implies a lack of progress or work performed, to the report.

  • Bike 360 and Nexus 4 not matching

I just bought the bike 360 and expected type of plug-and-play with my Nexus 4 but no way behavior. When they try to pair, Moto 360 disconnects immediately. SmartWatch reset several times but nothing.

    Any idea?

    Thank you!

Updated the porter Android app and it worked.

    Thank you very much!!!

  • See SWR50 on SmartConnect

    Hello

I have a Smartwatch 3 currently synchronized SWR50 with my Xperia Z3c showing 'connected' on the porter Android app but I can't see it on the list of paired devices SmartConnect more.

I forced stop and remove data from the app for other reasons, and then the SWR50 has disappeared from this list.

He doesn't have a Bluetooth Watch, or by phone.

However, it actually syncs with the apps that I have connected, so no problem.

I see the watch in the list of devices coupled on SmartConnect?

It appears on my paired Bluetooth devices and SmartConnect. I suggest resetting your watch and perform a new pairing process again.

  • Using application server MCG for pushing BB

    Hi all!

I am currently a porting Android to BB10. This application supports push notifications and I wish the portability to BB10 too. I understand the client side manages very well now. However, what I wonder is:

On the page "Creation Push.enabled Android apps", he said "a similar web query." Then here in the forums and the SDK push he speaks on the PAPER size. So the question is: what changes should I actually do my application server to push properly? The page doesn't have much info on this topic... In reading the page I I would assume switch simply the URL for the BB it and value. But now I guess this isn't the case?

If we really need to use a completely different format to the push initiator, then this should be documented here. Cause, that would mean that we really need to implement from scratch.

    Thank you

    Max

The format you send must be the same - the only difference is to send it to the BlackBerry instead of GCM servers. The only tricky part is to know what kind of device the user is on.
