Porting native Apps for BB10 playbook

I have 2 games running for PlayBook (so 2.0), already published on appworld.now decided to their device BB10 port also. Like my apps are developed naively and using OpenGL 2.0 how many will of work required.

is there is no Playbook to BB10 port applications guide.

I need to download the binaries for playbook and BB10. So what is the name of the package, the two could be same? Or my application will have separate names for the two (Playbook and BB10).

I have an application Native + OpenGL for PlayBook and BB10. You will have no problem porting to BB10, you only take care of the different screen size.

And Peter is right. You must present the version for BB10 wearing the same package id and version should be different for BB10. To keep my versions "in tact" I simply add 100 for the last byte for BB10 package. For example - version 1.0.1.1 for PlayBook and version 1.0.1.101 for BB10.

  • MUSE does support the creation of native apps for iPad and Android?

I'm a big user of InDesign with the manufacturer of simple editing app. That service is being discontinued may 1 and I'm hunting for alternatives to create native applications that are heavy-design with other methods. I need to know if Muse can offer something like this with the help of PhoneGap.

    (2) this applies to Android and Apple?

    (3) don't Muse work with PhoneGap, or is there a more direct way for the launch?

  • undefined reference to camera_api.h for BB10

    Hello

I am trying to use the features of the camera BB10 for playbook (camera_api.h). The problem is that when I build, I get an undefined reference for example error "undefined reference to"camera_open '" The functionalitly to the camera is activated in the bb10 sdk beta? If so, what libraries should I link to?

More generally, there is a sample application he uses camera_api.h for bb10 playbook?

    Thank you.

He has no public sample code again.  I hope to publish it soon.

Looks like you're builgind an application without linking it to the library of camera (libcamapi.so).

You will need to add 'camapi' to your list of libraries, or through project-> build settings settings c / c ++-> linker settings (I think), or if you are using stunts, I think you need to add

    LIBS +=-lcamapi

    To your .pro file.

    See you soon,.

  • Development of a PhoneGap Plugin for BB10 (QNX)

    Hi all

I'm playing a bit with phonegap 2.5 just to understand how it works with BB10... In addition to the basic steps, I still don't understand what I need to do in case I need to create a plugin custom..., according to the documentation, it seems that the reference language is Java, but as far as I know, the native extensions for BB10 must be developed in C++ and I strongly suspect that Java is for the old version of BB (torch etc.)

Even if I dig into the sample project located within the archive zip Phonegap, I can't understand how extensions can be made.

Can someone help me on this?

    Thank you very much

    -marco

    Hi Marco,.

Yes, you are right! Once we have aligned with cordova, you will still generate native code in the same way, but we allow you to package it as a plugin of cordova rather WebWorks extension.

  • convert adobe flex web app for playbook air application?

Hey, I am very new to this sort of thing and was using a Visual tool to help me create applications web flex. My question is can I convert these to operate as air apps on the playbook?

Given that I don't really know action script.

Also, can you recommend any good books, tutorials, or interactive Web sites that would help me to learn action script? Thank you!

Some MX controls (OK, a lot) are not supported under the BB SDK.  For example, mx. Alert does not work, you must use the AlertDialog QNX class.  See docs QNX to:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/developers/docs/airapi/1.0.0/index.html

In addition, FlashBuilder is the IDE that is supprted, Flex Builder (3.x) is not supprted.  FlashBuilder 4.x is what you need, but which is not supported under Linux.  You should be able to download the 0.9.1 BB SDK for Linux and the use of the CLI version for a project of will.

If you are a Flex application, you need to change the root node of a node (Application or WindowedApplication) AIR (if not already done).  If so, act like and more taking orders from MX which are not supported, I keep your business logic and simply change the front-end server with native controls of QNX/BB.

But first, I would try just get a "Hello World" application to compile and run as an AIR application and then send it on the Simulator to get their feet wet.  then see what it would take to get your application scope.

    Hope that helps.

  • Porting your app BB10

    Hello

I recently published my BB 10 app for which I used the sdk webworks. What are the different platforms can I port to use the same code. Can it be worn on titanium appaccelarator so that I can reuse this code to develop a version of iOS from that?

    Thanks in advance

    Yours sincerely,

    Abhijit S

The WebWorks APIs you used are the property of BlackBerry. they are essentially the Javascript hooks down in the native layer of our operating system.

That said all HTML5, Javascript and CSS, you used in the development of your application (i.e. the HTML5 standard) should be cross-platform on most platforms.

For platform-specific parts, you may need to adjust the code to use that require other platforms instead.

  • Door BB app for playbook - new app or new version.

    Hello

For the ports to an existing application for blackberry playbook, how one submits it?

    • As the new version of the existing blackberry app.
    • As a new application altogether.

    Thank you

    -MO.

It depends on what you want to achieve

If you submit as a release of users who bought for BB can download it for free on the PlayBook. However the application will have the same rating and comments, on the BB

If you post a new app - it will be a new application with 0 reviews and users will have to buy if they want to have it on their PlayBook

  • Menu of the app (Swipe in the Menu drop-down) in Webworks for BB10.

    Hello

I tried to build an app menu (the menu that appears at the top when you drag down on the screen BB10) for my applications Webworks.

However, I wasn't able to find anything that satisfied my need here https://github.com/blackberry/bbUI.js/wiki

In samples for BB10, I found this message under Swipe Menu here https://github.com/blackberry/BB10-WebWorks-Samples/tree/master/swipemenu

'This example is not really applicable for BB10. The menu blow follows different guidelines that this and most of the applications must use the context menu instead. »

However, the interface instructions user of BB said that for generic application-level functionality, you must place in the menu of the Application. (Here https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/files/design/bb10/UI_Guidelines_BlackBerry_10.pdfof Page 47)

So now I'm a bit confused. Is there a Webworks method to create a Menu of Application for BB10? (I found documentation of older versions). Is there something I'm missing?

    Thanks in advance.

    Prashanth

Gotcha - I see where the confusion is so

menu screen in bbUI.js = menu of the application.

It's a swipedown menu where you can place the lesser measures. It has a slightly different feature on Playbook and a completely different feature BBOS but from your point of view, it will do what you owe for BB10

It is set on a base by screen at this moment (discussed changes that, but nothing has yet been decided) but follows the BB10 UI/UX guidelines for the application menu. He now has the ability to the elements of the upper left and right so that you can get your help and settings menus to the appropriate locations.

Let me know if you need other help for this.

the playbook of paths with bb10 is nice, I want to know is how it should work also indicate to playbook?

The PlayBook and BlackBerry OS 10 have different architectures; you have to build a unique BAR file for each platform.

If you go to the download page for HTML5:

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/HTML5/download/

You will find a separate SDK WebWorks for the Playbook and BB10 and you will need to install both / run the command for each respective platform bbwp generate a BAR file that is compatible with the operating system specified.

  • License model for BB10 apps in AppWorld

On the BB dev site, I found the following:

Applications running on the BlackBerry 10 operating system is the use of a static licensing model, regardless of the choice made in the licensing model in the supplier portal.

This means that we don't need to bother about the licensing model for BB10 apps and let the App World which must manage the licesning Blackberry world mechanism?

Fix. In BB 10 it is not possible for a user to save the app package and copy it to another device. Therefore, there is no chance of your app executable escaped a user and then on any other side loading on their device. It is protected in this way and the dynamics of license is not really necessary...

But if you want extra protection, you can always do it within your application, but you have to manage your own licensing model in this case.
