Positioning in the text field text

I have a text field 3 x 7 set to "Allow multiple lines" However, when I 'Preview PDF', any entered text starts in the middle of the text field and moves to a line at a time that the text is adjusted.  How can I get the cursor to start in the upper left corner of the field instead of the Middle?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Right click the field-> choose pallets-> click on paragraph. You will find the text of the alignment controls.

or

The window-> paragraph menu

  • Police base / positioning of the text of point vs box

    For some stupid reason too long to address here, I place some point text in the same place, as it would be placed if it was in text box.

    However, it appears in the text box is positioned compared to the 'first line' of the police, while the sharp text is positioned (anchored) from the baseline of the text, see the next with the same position sample model:

    What I've done here is just first create "mypoint" by clicking on (0,0) and paste the text ' "(which contains characters that show the level of reference and full height also), and create the text box"mybox"set by draw a text box to (0,0) to (1 000 100) and paste the same text and by changing the colors to make them recognizable.

    I then just added a rule to y = 100, added an adjustment layer and it value parent of these two layers, then shift the position of the adjustment layer - 100 so I can see what is happening.

    Now the question is, how to calculate what "mypoint" position would be to align on the same alignment of Y-position that the text "mybox" is?

    Just for the inspection of a few things:

    ylI9uVr.png

    Looking at the returned rectangles sourceRectAtTime() I get something in the general direction of the following, but he is not quite right:

    1CDsCSW.png

    model var = app.project.activeItem;

    var b = comp.layer ("mybox");

    var p = comp.layer ("mypoint");

    BR var = p.sourceRectAtTime (0, false);

    PR var = b.sourceRectAtTime (0, false);

    var text = p.sourceText.value; copy settings

    var t2 = comp.layers.addText (text);

    text = t2.sourceText.value;

    text.applyColor = true;

    text.fillColor = [0,1,1]; cyan to differentiate

    T2.sourceText.SetValue (Text);

    T2. Name = "myotherpoint";

    T2.parent = comp.layer("adjust-y");

    T2.position.SetValue ([0, 0]); gives the same position as "mypoint".

    T2.position.SetValue ([0, br.top - pr.top]) / / slightly off

    T2.position.SetValue ([0, text.fontSize]) / / No, too low

    Is it a reasonable way of calculation and this... ?

    I tried to add a point text and to match a text box, with a code similar to yours, and it works.

    However I have no parent the text point to layer "settle there" (because you said nothing on the subject), but directly in the text of the box.

    Start-ups can come from your transformation parameters to "settle there" layer. Maybe reset?

    I used this code:

    var comp = app.project.activeItem;
    var b = comp.layer("mybox");
    var br = b.sourceRectAtTime(0, false);

    var p = comp.layers.addText(b.text.sourceText.value.text);
    p.name = "mypoint";
    // make same doc specs (skipped)
    var pr = p.sourceRectAtTime(0, false);

    // parent, then set relative position
    p.parent = b;
    p.transform.position.setValue([br.left-pr.left, br.top-pr.top, 0]);

    Edit: just realized that 'set the y' is on your screen, and it is the parent of all the layers...

    I don't have a lot of time to understand why your code does not work, but if you parent the point of the box instead of the box parent, then it should work.

  • How to get the exact position of the text?

    Hi try the code below, I do not get the exact position of the text.

    TextModel InterfacePtr< ITextModel > (() Utils< IXMLUtils >->QueryTextModel(inXMLElement));

    UIDRef = focusedText:GetUIDRef(textFrameColumn);

    not signed int current_page = GetPageNumberFromUIDRef(focusedText);

    UID pageUID;

    UIDRef spreadUIDRef = GetPageSpreadUIDRef(current_page, pageUID);

    PMRect PageCoords = GetPagePasteBoardPos(UIDRef(db, pageUID));

    InterfacePtr<IWaxStrand> (((IWaxStrand*) textModel-> waxStrandFrameQueryStrand() kFrameListBoss IID_IWAXSTRAND)));

    if (waxStrandFrame is nil) Break;

    K2: waxIteratorscoped_ptr<IWaxIterator> (waxStrandFrame->NewWaxIterator());

    PMReal PositionY = 0;

    if (waxIterator is nil) Break;

    IWaxLine* waxLine = waxIterator->GetFirstWaxLine(start_pos);

    PositionY = waxLine->GetYPosition();

    Can you suggest a solution for above problem.

    Instead of GetYPosition, try waxLine-> GetToPasteboardMatrix(). Transform(&positionPB); Then you can convert it into page coordinates

  • How to change the start position of the text on a custom path

    I don't seem to be able to change the start position of the text on a custom path. I can see the 'X' on the basic line that defines the beginning of the text, but it doesn't seem to be a way to change its position. Among the videos on the Internet suggested that now the CTRL key would allow X to drag along the way - however, if I try that, the path moves rather than the X.

    Steps to reproduce the problem:

    Select text on a custom path tool

    Draw a custom path

    Validate by clicking on the green arrow

    Click path for text insertion tool

    Type text

    Engage

    ... Now try to change the start position of the text.

    Photoshop Elements 10

    Windows XP SP3

    After validating the text you need to click on the path with the type tool (for example next to your first letter), and then by holding down the ctrl key should work.

    Your get the path selection tool.

    In other words without switching tools, just pass your cursor next to the text, then click on when the cursor turns into the i-beam cursor, but you can switch to the type tool as Ken suggest if you find that easier.

  • Get the position of the text (inside or outside a nightclub?)

    Hi all

    I use simple Ruby to access the contents of a PDF file. This help PDF Reader of yob of GitHub.

    Now, I've come a long way, but still have a question that remains! How to get the position of a text object (this object area)?

    I read the PDF reference, he told me all sorts of things on the text area, space glyph and user... As English is not my mother tongue, there is a lot to take... I currently have a Community trade mark, a matrix of text and text rendering matrix. I have also all the boxes on the page (media, trim, culture etc..)

    For an Image object, I use the values of e and f CTM as x and y. It works perfectly, but when it comes to text, seems to be missing something...

    Example:

    CTM: Matrix]

    [1, 0, 0].

    [0, -1, 0],

    [-0.0, 640.346, 1]

    ]

    Text matrix = > array]

    [10.0, 0.0, 0].

    [0.0, 10.0, 0].

    [2062769.1732, 42.6732, 1]

    ] == You need to convert the text in user/device space space!

    TRM: Matrix]

    [1000.0, 0.0, 0.0],

    [- 10.0, 0.0, 0.0].

    [2062769.1732, 597.6728, 1.0]

    ]

    I can count the lines and calc a displacement of multipling that number by police in size (e.g. 12 pt), but how can I get the box of you text_object? If I have the box, I can make you whether he fits in a box...

    Please help with what I might hurt, or even better if you can help me to find the position of the text!

    They are NOT the starting point of the text box.   It is the basic position of the pen, taking the place of drawing the text.  The 'box' versus relies on measures of fonts - what you need to get the widths, leader, etc.  There's a picture of this in the ISO 32000-1 standard (section 9.2.4, I think).  In fact, the entire section text will make this clearer.

  • Change of position of the text in the text field

    Hello! I've created a few text fields in a PDF form, but I have some problems with the text. • Different position of the text when previewing in the browser?

    Hello

    For some reason, some of my objects are in a different position when you preview.  Anyone know why this might be?

    I use CC2014 to Muse on a Mac and the preview by using the latest version of Chrome.  Let me know if you need more information.

    Thank you!

    FYI... Design mode in the latest version of Adobe Muse CC (2014.3) uses the same metric fonts such as popular browsers give the text more consistent to the basic positions.

  • Position of the text of a checkbox control

    Hello

    Is it possible to have the text on the left side of a checkbox control?

    I use spark and tlf.

    Thanx

    Allan

    I should say "by reskinning the check box". You would not normally modify the CheckBoxSkin.mxml file that defines the default appearance; you make your own version of it and tell the checkbox for use instead.

    This seems to be a use case attributes , such as the colspan to order form available. The element of page stop and start of the HTML Table layout may also be of interest.

    See + {: identifier of the thread = 2199163} + for a pretty laborious effort to solve what looks like a similar problem.

    If it is not the same problem, you need to provide a detailed description of the problem, preferably to reproduce the problem on apex.oracle.com and include the following information:

  • Full version of APEX
  • Edition and the full version of DB
  • (EPG, SST or APEX listener) Web server architecture

  • Headaches: Position of the text changes of body as a screen resolution changes

    Hello

    I designed a Web page as the content (body text image, links) is placed in a table to a row of three columns. To make it always centered fixed the width of the table in pixels (which is 775px) and he lined up as a "Center."

    Then, I inserted a layer and full text content to fill the page.

    However, as the resolution of changes in the alignment of the header text body and links pages will not.

    What should I do to make the alignment of text in the fixed header?

  • Position of the text and the mask for the position was separated

    Hello

    I tried searching for this solution on several different forums, but no luck.  Maybe I'm phrasing the wrong question.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I hope it's something pressing.

    What I'm trying to achieve:

    I want to have this sentence scroll down, left to right: "we had a good time."

    I want seems to US first by using the scale, but the following words that follow to be made then slide from left to right, any entry behind the word on his left.  So after 'We', a fraction of a second later, I want the word 'had' to come behind the word 'We' - BUT be hidden by a mask until it clears the word '' We. ''

    After that, I want the word or the letter 'a' to do the same thing after that and so on, and so on.

    I hope I explained this correctly.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Erik

    Have another layer to 'Us', then use a track matte for the other layer.

    I want to do we will be right and the other will be left how I can I align is their way to find the width of the label or text?

    Thank you

    This should help align your labels layouts, depending on what you did you do could go with absolute layout, docking station or stack (allows you to align the top to bottom or left to right)

    I'm not too sure that everything, however, to determine the length of the text, I would think that you could store the text in a string and then somehow programmatically count each letter & do return a result... not exactly on how to do it but it's an idea

  • You can lock the position of a peak in the text?

    I'm working on a book with lots of pictures. After that I have set, is possible to lock their position in the text? The problem I have is that when I add pages at the beginning of the book, the text returns to the next page, but the images don't. They all need to be moved manually. Thank you!

    Yes. It is called and anchored object and you can read about it in the help files.

  • Rotate the text in the same position

    I created a map map of city with lots of street names and area text labels. I now need a version which turns the entire map 180 degrees... Once the card is turned, I have turn all the labels again 180 degrees so that they are readable... Ideally, I'd like to do a 180 degree turn using "transform each"... It is, do not turn the text to the center point of the body of text, he turned the anchor... that moves the position of the text too much make it a feasible process... I thought that maybe there will be a preference to turn of the (absolute) center point, rather than the anchor (such as older versions of Illustrator), but I don't see this option... I can do it manually, but thought I'd check to see if anyone knows what I'm on...  Thank you.

    Text rotates as the objects according to the anchor point selected in the transformation of each dialog box - it looks like an icon of the grid on the right side of the dialog box. Make sure that the center point is highlighted.

    SO if someone scrolls the screen so that the field of the bitmap image is moving upwards or downwards, and the area of the bitmap is always visible, I still know where my field bitmap regarding the point 0,0 of the screen.

    I created the following code to discover something I did some time ago, in fact I think that I have found this code on the forum somewhere and modified to fit my needs.  Not sure it has never been used in a production application, so no warranty.  But may be useful.

        public static final XYRect getFieldExtent(Field fld) {
            int cy = fld.getContentTop();
            int cx = fld.getContentLeft();
            Manager m = fld.getManager();
            while (m != null) {
                cy += m.getContentTop() - m.getVerticalScroll();
                cx += m.getContentLeft() - m.getHorizontalScroll();
                if (m instanceof Screen)
                    break;
                m = m.getManager();
            }
            return new XYRect(cx, cy, fld.getContentWidth(), fld.getContentHeight());
        }
