positioning of the layer problem

I insert a layer. Set the properties - top, left, width, height - but layer goes where he wants. property values honor in dreamweaver edit mode and even worse mistake of positioning in the preview/debug. can not understand. all other layers on page behave very well. the absolute value of the position, float to zero.

  • How to get the relative position of the layer in the largest precomp.

    The installation program:

    COMP 1 is 2000 x 3000 pixels. COMP 1 contains X positioned layer in the 1750,1250. (or other)

    I shoot 1 Comp in Comp 2, which is 800 x 600. I have the scale and move Comp 1 inside 2 Comp by an arbitrary amount.

    How can I determine the x position of the layer using the coordinate space of Comp 2?

    Something like this:

    L1 is comp("Comp_1").layer ("layer X");.
    P1 = L1.toWorld (L1.anchorPoint);
    L2 = thisComp.layer ("Comp 1");
    L2.toWorld (P1)

  • Serious accidents with control of the expression spacing based on z-position of the layer

    I have massive crashes when you use this script expression below. I have just a text layer where I control the depandend letter-spacing of the current z position. From z = 0 to-500 (directly in front of the camera), the values are transformed by easyOut() from 0-10. So far, that's all.

    Now when I duplicate this line of text several times and start to change its position, then the accident happens. Text layers more I have the sooner the crash. This occurs when the edition therefore not made involved. In the preview is the applied standard rendering engine.

    Unfortunately, there is no specific error message - it indicates just that AFX no longer works and is now closed.

    My system features:

    I have 8 GB of RAM and 10 GB disk cache. That should be enough for a text flying around.

    I use the latest Version of CC of AFX 2015.1 13.6.1.6 running on Windows Ultrabook (Lenovo Yoga 1) 8.1. No CUDA detected so the preview is rendered by the CPU.

    Anyone has an idea why this happens? Help is very appreciated.

    max_spacing = 10;
    z_position = transform.position[2];
    var new_spacing = easeOut(z_position, -500, 0, max_spacing, 0);
    text.animator("Animator 1").property.trackingAmount = new_spacing;

    This is my test scene:

    http://Augenpulver-design.de/Exchange/tmp/AFX_Expression_Crash_Scene.zip

    You create a hole of logic by referencing the layer itself probably. Should not happen, then I would call it a bug. Probably to do with flaky matrix code also used to smack and a few other things. Try to use a Null value and parent the text to it. This would work much better.

  • position of the layer style effects - photoshop CC 2015

    Hello everyone, I can't for the life of move me the position of layer style effects (upwards or downwards), the keys are locked. What is missing to me?

    Layer Style_2.jpg

    I need to have the layering of colors under the inlay pattern, but when I try to click on the arrow on the bottom buttons, I get:

    Layer Style.jpg

    its driving me crazy because I feel like when you lose you key in your house ad you know sound in the most obvious, place just to look at you and laugh, but you can't seem to find anything.

    Don't know what you are trying to do, but the arrows you see are for if you duplicate styles, then you can change the order of this specific style set... ?

    What are you actually trying to do?

  • Positioning of the CSS problem...

    Hello

    I thought that I understand the positioning in CSS, but I think I need some advice here...

    Very simple question with very simple code:

    #box1 {
         color: #FFF;
         background-color: #03F;
         height: 100px;
         width: 100px;
         margin: 50px;
         position: absolute;
         left: 200px;
    }
    #box2 {
         color: #000;
         background-color: #FF0;
         height: 100px;
         width: 100px;
         margin: 50px;
    }
    #box3 {
         color: #FFF;
         background-color: #900;
         height: 100px;
         width: 100px;
         margin: 50px;
    }

    The #box1 is out of normal document flow because its position is set to absolute. This box is 200px to move from left to right. box #2 and #box3 take is place in the document. My question is in my browser (FF, IE 8) extra margin appear on top of my box of absolute positioning... I would just like to understand why! If I take off the margins, the area #1 and #2 are perfectly aligned at the top, but with margins, they are not! For a time, DW seems to make properly...

    Thank you!

    As an exercise, the value display: none for zones 2 and 3, you won't see any movement in box1

    When you use position: absolute, you must set both left AND top.

    I think you'll want value box1 top: 0;

  • Move the layer but keep anchor still

    Hi, I know that I can use the Pan behind tool to move a layer anchor point. Now for adjustment purposes that I need to move the layer, but keep the anchor point where it is... otherwise it changes the path of the animation. Is this possible?

    Kind regards

    Frank

    I guess you have your animation path and you want to change the position of the layer to this track. If you simply position keyframes adjust anchor point values in the timeline panel. You can click and drag on the values, so that you can see the movement of the layer from the path.

    If you have animated a layer by setting keyframes in the anchor point so that you can change the relative position of the layer by rubbing through the position values in the timeline panel.

    If you have animated the two position and anchor, then you can open the layer in the layer panel, reveal the path of the anchor, select all the keyframes of an anchor in the scenario, click and drag on any keyframes the anchor to drag all this without creating a new keyframe. You can see and move keyframes from the plug-in position which has properties of position in the layer window and do the same thing.

    You can use the same select all the keyframes in the technical timeline to recover and move a path any position in the composition window.

    If this doesn't give you a solution I don't understand your problem.

  • Decrease the opacity of the layer with the Distance from the camera

    Is there a way to automatically decrease layer opacity that layer away a camera?

    We will break down the process of thought, of expression and see if we can make it work for you.

    First of all, you must measure the distance between the camera and the layer. The Expression Language Menu effects has a under vector math method which measures the distance between two points, we can use. Use the camera to a point and the position of the layer on the other and we have the first number.

    Now we must decide what we want the opacity to what concerns the distance. When the layer is the same distance from the camera the zoom value will be called the equivalent of a scale of 100%. It is perhaps a good place to have the layer is completely visible. This distance is easily implemented by assigning the fully visible distance to the Active camera zoom value. Then we have to decide how far the layer must be when it is completely invisible (opacity = 0). Personally, I think that the best way to proceed is to use a multiplier for the zoom value. 4 X with most lens settings is a nice distance.

    To configure the relationship between the distance and the maximum opacity, you can use one of the methods of Interpolation in the Expression Language Menu. We will use the method with the maximum and minimum values.

    We'll put that together in an expression. The two methods to use are

    length (point1, point2)

    linear (t, tMin, tMax, value1, value2)

    Set some variables for each of the values and we're done:

    point1 = thisComp.activeCamera.position;
    point2 = position;
    tMin = thisComp.activeCamera.zoom;
    tMax = tMin * 4;
    value1 = 100;
    value2 = 0;

    t = length(point1, point2);
    easeIn(t, tMin, tMax, value1, value2)

    If you really want to get fancy then you can add a transformation from layer space to the camera and the layer so that the expression might work even with or without layers relative to the camera and/or the layer. ToWorld changing looks like this:

    point1 = thisComp.activeCamera.toWorld([0,0,0]);
    point2 = thisLayer.toWorld(anchorPoint);

    Furthermore, I use usually more descriptive and shorter names for variables, but thought that it would make it easier to understand what was going on in the expression. I use also usually Active camera for my expressions rather than thisComp.layer ("camera 1") because it works little whatever you named your active camera.

  • Need to paste in front/back, similar to Illustrator... the layer file 500

    Hello

    I have a file with vector shape layers 500 in photoshop.

    I need to reorganize a bunch of layers. Currently, it's really a bear to a layer of 150 layers upward or down in the stacking order.

    An idea to lift the layers is to simply select two layers anywhere in the stacking, group and ungroup, then order that will place the selected background layer just below the layer selected.

    I'm trying to find a way to combine two layers and keep them in the same position as the layer selected, not the selected layer...

    .. .or other ideas or really appreciated. A simple Ctrl + F (block in front of the second selected layer would be cool!)

    Thanks for your help!

    Thank you c.pfaffenbichler!

    I'll try the script.

    I appreciate your help.

  • positioning in the new ellipse problem layer

    I created the new layer in my document, then a new ellipse within that layer.

    I am positioning the new ellipse in the upper layer (vertically) and in the center of the layer along the x-axis (horizontal).

    Nothing I have tried seems to move the left object to the starting x position layers (I can move it just fine!).

    I'm confused because my high properties and the height of the layer are negative numbers - but when I look at the ruler, all are above zero?

    What I am doing wrong in terms of positioning of the ellipse in the layer?

    Here is a sample of my script:

    var childLayer = currentLayer.layers[j];
    var xmin = childLayer.pageItems[0].geometricBounds[0].toFixed(2); // top
    var ymin = childLayer.pageItems[0].geometricBounds[1].toFixed(2); // left
    var xmax = childLayer.pageItems[0].geometricBounds[2].toFixed(2); // bottom
    var ymax = childLayer.pageItems[0].geometricBounds[3].toFixed(2); // right

    var newBoneLayer = boneLayer.layers.add();
    newBoneLayer.name = childLayer.name.replace(OBJECT_MARKER, "");
    var halfOfWidth = parseFloat(childLayer.pageItems[0].width/2).toFixed(2);
    var boneGuideXPosition = parseFloat(xmin + halfOfWidth).toFixed(2);
    var boneGuide = newBoneLayer.pathItems.ellipse(ymin,boneGuideXPosition, 10.0, 10.0, true, false);

    boneGuide.stroked = true;
    boneGuide.filled = true;
    boneGuide.opacity = 40.0; // set to 40% opacity
    var newRGBColor = new RGBColor();
    newRGBColor.red = 204;
    newRGBColor.green = 255;
    newRGBColor.blue = 255;
    boneGuide.fillColor = newRGBColor;

    Sorry my bad.

    even in my script, it should be...

    var x = AB[0]+((AB[2]-AB[0])/2);

  • Position of the object changes with the new layer

    After Effects CS6 11.0.4.2

    I have installed recent updates, according to this page (FAQ: what information should I provide when you ask a question on this forum?)

    10 Pro 64-bit Windows

    I have an AMD FX (tm) - 8350 eight cores 4 GHz processor

    8 GB RAM

    AMD Radeon 200 series graphics card R9

    3rd party plugins installed: 3-d element.

    I have an object made to 3D element bound to a null object to control its movement. The position that there is everything I like. However, when I add a new layer (layer setting, sound, text or other) changes the position of the null object. It comes to a lot of trouble because I use 3d objects and as they occupy a different position, their movement seems wrong.

    I wanted to add an adjustment layer, so I précomposé just what I have and add the adjustment to the model layer, so it does not change. It worked perfectly. But, now, I want to add a new text object, bring it to feature 3D extrude it and bind it to a null object, the problem is that if I add the null object, or the text layer to the original model, the previous objects will change their position.

    I use phrases such as wiggle and time * with the first null object. This has something to do with that evil?

    How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Yes. The seed of wiggle() and other Pseudo-aleatoires functions is obtained according to the index. You must manually set a seed with seedRandom (< your="" value="" here="">, true) to avoid tampering. This is nothing unusual.

  • The Position of the upper left corner of any shape layer

    Hi guys,.

    So for the last two days, I worked on a script that would allow me to centre X number of layers in the middle of the container model, as if the selected layers were just one layer. So my approach to achieve this goal is first to know the positions of the four corners of each layer. My code so far works perfectly with AVLayers and TextLayers, but it does not always with ShapeLayers. Here's the formula I use to calculate the position of the upper left corner of the shape layers:

    x = position [x] - [x] anchorPoint - (layerWidth / 2)

    y = position [y] - [y] anchorPoint - (layerHeight / 2)

    So the formula assumes that the anchor point is in the middle of the shape layer if the anchor point is [0, 0], and which seems incorrect.

    Untitled2.png

    And it's Layer Properties.

    Untitled.png

    So the question is, what is the way to calculate the position of the upper left corner of ANY shape layer?

    Thank you very much!

    It should work as long the layer was not filmed:

    var C = app.project.activeItem;

    var L is C.layer ("shape Layer 1");.

    var r = L.sourceRectAtTime (C.time, false);

    var s = L.property("Scale").value;

    var p = L.property("Position").value;

    var a = L.property("Anchor_Point").value;

    var ul = [p [0] + (r.left - a [0]) * s [0] / 100, p [1] + (r.top - a [1]) * s [1] / 100];

  • Positioning of the problems with State multi (9 Captivate) buttons

    Hey all,.

    I just tried to use a button with an additional State (the text will turn green when chapter is complete). When I change the position of the button it will jump around everytime I go on it with the mouse cursor. The problem is that I can't change the position of other States of the button, but it is clearly recorded independently. Looks like a bug to me.

    So I actually can not press at all more.

    Update:

    1. This only happens in a responsive project
    2. This problem affects each smartshape transformed into a button, not just those with an additional State.

    Post edited by: Nicolas Reibnitz

    Just to finish this place for now:

    The issue seems to be the project file. Why this has happened, I can't say.

    Sonia has discovered and wrote in an e-mail we can resize the button jumping a little. Then the position is again in phase. After that even the new buttons show no more jumping behavior. Maybe it helps someone who has the same problem at one point.

    If someone finds out how this corruption of the project may occur, I would like to know about it.

    Thank you all!

  • When I had family a layer to a corner of the puppet, the layer will move to an unexpected position

    Hello.

    I'm hosting a long-necked bird with the puppet tool and that neck I want to fix a head which is a separate layer.

    To do this, I have pickwhip head Position property of the layer to one of the neck of the puppet pin Position property. I made sure that a layer anchor head is in the same position as the puppet pin position.

    However, when I do this, the head layer jump left some 200 pixels.

    How to change the expression so that this layer head remains in the same situation?

    Adding a printscreen for viewing. Layer of head point of anchorage and puppet pin positions are where the leaders meet

    puppet pin problem.png

    This will never work. The effect coordinates are relative to the layer, not the computer. As a minor, you can use the .tocomp (layer 9 space transform convertthe coordinated, otherwise you have to dial before your stuff.
