Possible to run a MAXL calculation in the background?

Hello

I wonder if it is possible to run a MAXL calculation

for example
run the calculation 'ALL CALC'; on Sample.basic;

as a process in the background?

I have a very long and the end of a calculation dimbuild and load process via MAXL. I wanted that the calculation in the background so I can close the connection MAXL. Is this possible?

Thx for your help.

I think the API requires an open handle to receive the success or failure on the Calc.

I think about Windows, but why you could not run the script as a scheduled process? I was logged on Windows servers with my id and essmsh.exe observed sessions run in the context that I don't see that glass applications. I think it works for both my id (the id I connect with) and service ID. Wouldn't that accomplish the same thing?

  • Impossible to perform calculations in the background

    I have System 9 bi + AAS9.3.0.1

From the console of the AAS I'm more able to run scripts of calculation in the background.

When I run the calc script I select "Run in background" and click "OK".

It seems to work. But when I check the background process I get the following:
-start and end times are the same
    -status is always "successful".
I check my data and can check without calculations have been made.

I see that I can take a few minutes to perform calculations. I know this because I can run the same script calc in the forground and I see that it takes several minutes to run.

I was able to run in the background until about 2 weeks ago. I went as far as restarting all my servers without effect.

Any ideas what is the cause? Or how to fix?

  • How can question I run an executable file in the background?

    Hello

I'm trying to run an executable in the context of LabVIEw, but none of the methods described in the forum and on ni.com seems to work. I use LV 2011 on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine where it is important.

I tried the method described in "How to make an executable in the background as a marketing app?" (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/4A8B626B55B96C248625796000569FA9?opendocument&Submitted&&... but I always see a fragment of a window at the bottom near the start (Exhibit 1) key.) Table 2 shows that it consists only of the title bar. (I customized the appearance of the window as described and added the two points

    HideRootWindow = True

    UseTaskBar = FALSE

    in the *.ini file.)

I also tried to disable all other items in the menu customize appearance of window with the same result.

Then I tried the method described in "Ongoing execution of an executable of LabVIEW as a background process" (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/EFEAE56A94A007D586256EF3006E258B) addition of the FP. Open the VI method and affecting the hidden state. I got the same result (table 1).

Should I do more or different for my version of windows? I appreciate your help. Thank you.

I found the problem. It was a wrong directory for the build name. I continued under an older version of the executable with the default window settings. • What is the recommended way to run a WebLogic Server in the background?

I'm new to WebLogic Server and I was looking at the documentation. There are instructions for starting and stopping the servers under Linux, but they all seem to rely on the foreground process. What is the right way to run these processes in the background in a production environment? Is it just using nohup somewhere in an /etc/init.d/ script or y at - it another way I should run it?

    Meatwad,

Of course, running the WLS process using nohup would put the process in the background. However, the recommended way to run the WLS servers on a production system would be to configure the node Manager and use it. Place the servers as a background process, it also provides additional features, that would be useful - for example, allowing the start and stop the console of administration with the ability to auto restart failed or stuck servers.

For more information, please see the documentation.

  • Is it possible to run Star Wars: riders of the old Republic (SWKotor 1) without problem?

    Hello

I use VMPlayer. Among other things, I would like to play the classic RPG Star Wars: Old Republic (SWKotor 1) riders. I've installed and am able to start with the video and sound. But when I run the game for real, there are many graphic errors (texture?), what makes little unplayable. When I do the scan of material which is accompanied by the game, he spends everything except the video test. He says that I do not meet the recommended specifications (warning yellow but not red) and I use VMware SVGA II 256 MB instead of the best suited is ATI Radeon 9200 or higher or NVidia GeForce4 Ti or better.

The host is the Guest Windows XP Pro SP3 and Win7 64 bit.

Help would be very appreciated, even without a reward ;-)

    Thx a lot

It is sometimes possible to play games inside a virtual machine. "VMware SVGA II or 3D" is a software based on GPU without any access to the GPU hardware inside your host. I would try to install DirectX 9.0 c and hope for the best.

  • possible to run a script (.jsx) in the elements?

Here is my script: QTR StepWedge Tool.jsx

and here is where I found this: www.quadtonerip.com/html/QTRdownload.html. Descend to the bottom and it is in this zip file: QTR-Stepwedge - Tool.zip you will need to unzip this file to get the script, I had a bit of bad paste in above, for some reason any.

Here is what about the script and what it does:

I want to run the script in Photoshop 9 or later. (I have 9 and 13).  Here's what this script... is for the linearization of a curve to print to a specific printer, paper and ink combination. A gray scale 20 step (by Kodak) and a print (using my printer, paper and ink), a grey scale 21 step are placed side by side and scanned on a scanner flat. I call analysis within the elements, so it is sitting in the workspace window. I select the grayscale scanning 20 step, the scanner, and a dialog will then appear. It asks to enter the values of gray, black and white ways as well as the number of steps. The script then stores this data and then I select and scan my impression of the 21 step file. The script compares the two and produced data that I then enter the final stage of the creation of curve of printer. That's what's supposed to happen, but after the first steps, elements fails.

Then, briefly, the script makes two readings, one a grey scale of reference and the other a print from my computer. The script compares the two and produced the data needed for the creation of the curve.

    Thank you!

    Paul

Too bad, people! Someone above the site elements found my mistake... I was using the wrong 21 step file for my second scan of the script.

Thanks anyway! I'll probably come back one day.

  • Is it possible to run an applet based on the pot in 7u51?

We have an applet that is managed using HTML like this:

    "< APPLET CODEBASE =" / bin/java "CODE ="org.nzdl.gsdl.Phind.Phind.class"ARCHIVE =" Phind.jar "WIDTH = 500 HEIGHT = 400 >

From 7u51, he is no longer running.  I got signed jar file and add the necessary root certificate, but the runtime complains now that the permissions attribute is missing from the manifesto, and I can't work, how to add this attribute.

My file 'manifest. MF' has a single line

    Permissions: sandbox

(There is an end of line; I also tried to add an additional empty line, but that does not change.)

I build the jar like this

jar cfm Phind - manifest.jar 'manifest. MF' org

    jarsigner - keystore greenstoneKey - storepass xxx - Phind - signed.jar Phind - manifest.jar greenstoneKey signedjar

(The org directory contains the class files).

When I unzip the jar resulting of the MANIFEST file. MF looks like this:

    Manifest-Version: 1.0

    Permissions: sandbox

    Created by: 1.7.0_51 (Oracle Corporation)

    Name: org/nzdl/gsdl/Phind/Phind$SafeReader.class

    SHA-256-Digest: tmCYPVEK/l3vSTLIfPR/QNzo8yUrvknHQxCFAr1KMZY =

    [...]

Google search found me nothing else than a bunch of other people having similar problems.  Has everyone really knew the problem and build a jar file that Java7u51 will work as an applet?

After further experimentation, it seems not that the problem is in the jar file. that works fine, as long as it the URL contains a full DNS name.  It seems that the Java runtime is unable to read the manifesto correctly if the URL to the jar file using an unqualified name, or an IP address.

Addendum: the problem disappeared completely.  My best guess is Java runtime has been cached from an earlier version of the jar file information that had no manifest information.  If you are troubleshooting a similar problem, I suggest user profile on your test between wiping testing account.

In windows, you will see two processes (ESSBASE, ESSSVR). Essbase is the main server process and ESSSVR is the process that is created when you do any activity. You must kill all the ESSSVR process (if you're pretty sure to kill any given the impact). Do not kill the ESSBASE process when you have ESSSVR process

  • How to run VI in the background and save system resources

    Hello

I want to develop an application (pc, windows 7) that checks the line port DSR series every 100 MS basically, I know how to create a VI that works with serial ports using VISA drivers. My request or my VI must be invisible to the user, and a variable DSR everytime level incrementing counter is high.

What is the best way to create a VI that runs in the background (invisible to the user, not even shown minimized in the taskbar). Given that the application needs to run most of the time, when the pc is running, I don't want to use too much computer resources (cpu, memory on an average desktop pc). The user should be able to work with other applications like ms office, during execution of the VI in the background.

LabVIEW is appropriate create a background VI which periodically checks the serial port and consumes system resources minimum or are languages like c ++ much better suited to save system resources? What is the best way to create an invisible VI that is running in the background?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Tom

On any modern hardware, the difference in the use of resources among a LabVIEW application and written in C++ for a simple task like this will be minimal. Anyway that you use a fraction of the time CPU available if the application is written correctly.

To run an invisible VI in the background, see user-defined execution of a LabVIEW Application as Windows Service.

  • Start the Widget in the background

    Hello

Is it possible to start a Widget app in the background, when the unit starts as if it was in Java applications using the entry point?

    Kind regards

    Nallo

    Hi all

Here are the steps that I use to configure a widget to auto-run using VS 2008.  It seems to work with simulators as well as when the widget is deployed through BES 5.0.   Please try it and let me know if it works for you.

    1. Create a new BlackBerry Widget project in VS 2008.  Name it "AutoRunWidget".
    2. Build the solution with the Build-> order generate the Solution or F6.
    3. Use windows Explorer to navigate to the project folder and the forest down to the bin\OTAInstall folder.
    4. Find the AutoRunWidget.jad file in the OTAInstall folder.
    5. Right-click on the AutoRunWidget.jad file and select the copy"" command.
    6. Navigate to the top of two levels in the main project folder (one of the contains index.htm and config.xml).
    7. Paste the AutoRunWidget.jad file in the main project folder.
    8. In VS 2008 solution Explorer, click the button "show all files".  You should now see the file AutoRunWidget.jad previously the file config.xml and index.htm in the list (Fig 1).
    9. Make a right click on the AutoRunWidget.jad element and the select "include in project" menu command (Fig 2).
    10. In the Properties window, change the "Build Action" attribute for the file AutoRunWidget.jad ' Compile ' (Fig 3).
    11. Double-click the AutoRunWidget.jad file to display it in the editor VS 2008.
    12. In the content of the AutoRunWidget.jad file, change the line that reads "RIM-MIDlet-flags-1: 0" to "RIM-MIDlet-flags-1: 1"(Fig. 4). "»
    13. Save and close the AutoRunWidget.jad file.
    14. Clean the solution with the Build-> command clean the Solution.
    15. Rebuild the solution with the Build-> order regenerate the Solution.

That's all!   Please note that whenever you modify the config.xml file, you will need to repeat steps 4 to 15 so that these changes are reflected in the .jad file.

  • Is it possible to run DiagOnCAN with the NI-CAN driver only (without car Diag command Set)

    Hello world

Is it possible to run DiagOnCan without using Diag command set auto - only with the NI-CAN driver (hardware I use is low tolerant speed - USB8472 and NOR-XNET)?

    G. Petko

no problem to do with your hardware and NI-CAN frame API.

However, you must implement the Diag and Services Transport layer on your own, which is quite a big job.

I recommend you spend the money for automotive diagnostic command set that supports

    • NI CAN (PXI, PCI, PCMCIA, USB)

    • NOR-XNET

    • cRIO/985 x target (Pharlap and VxWorks) #.

which means that if you plan to transfer your application in the future to different hardware target or the real-time target, that you don't need to change your app at all.

  • There is a possibility to run Labview projects or to set them off from a batch file or if the exist and the ability to control labview or run it from an external application?

Hi, I m a bit new in LabVIEW and I'd like to ask a few questions...

-There is a possibility to run Labview projects or to set them off from a batch file or if the exist and the ability to control labview or run it from an external application?

-One API PI or raspberry beaglebone exists for LabVIEW?

-Power supply Wich can recommend you control with LabVIEW? (some chip solution witn 0 - 30v / 0 - 3A DC)

Thank you very much for your advice!

    Best regards

    Elena

    Elena,

I know raspberry, so no comment on that.

    For the rest:

-Do you want to create tools for developers? If so, we must look in the API of project VI and VI server. If this isn't the case, please compile your application LV as executable and call this one using a batch file.

-LV prefer specific supplies. LV is a programming language. There are several power supply providers (including OR) which provide directly the LV API for their power supplies. So, essentially, the approach is:

    1. choose food that serves your needs.

    2. check if the power supply has a standard interface for programming (such as Ethernet, GPIB, or if the power supply is PXI, is already providing a programming interface!)

    3. check if the LV API (so-called "instrument driver") is available for the device. In the case of a PXI system, get you a device driver (for example NI DCPower).

    4. check if the LV samples are available (for example in the Finder for example LV once you have installed the driver).

  • Is there possible to see which are the background running processes in the system which is having Windows XP as operating system?

Is there possible to see which are the background running processes in the system which is having Windows XP as operating system?

There is no resource manager (or resource monitor) in the XP Task Manager.

Please read these notes I send to the people who are (sometimes) concerned about the svchost.exe process number they see on their system or when it looks like one of their svchost.exe process has run amok.  We can not all apply to your situation, but I don't want to type in a bunch of stuff once again.  Then get Process Explorer and you will be able to be Omniscient:

To help understand your processes svchost.exe and what is running under them, read this article and you will be smarter than the average bear:
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial129.html

You may be able to get clues with what is happening with your svchost.exe process using the Task Manager and maybe understand.

You will always be able to understand what is happening with your svchost.exe process if you use Process Explorer.

Download Process Explorer, so you can see what is 'really' running on your system, especially behind those svchosts several process see you in the running task manager.

    Download Process Explorer from here:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

You'll like Process Explorer when you get the hang of it.  Process Explorer is the Manager of Windows taskbar on steroids.

Process Explorer installs nothing so it won't slow down your system since it works only on request.

Process Explorer can seem a little intimidating at first because it has so much information, but you will begin to make love the way it works when you're looking for performance problems.   You can even say EP you want it to be your new default 'Task Manager' value in the future.  You can always run the original tasks as Manager.

Once you get Process Explorer running, expand the columns, made drag the corners of the screen for it's largest, etc., so you can see as much information as possible in the window.  Now you can really see what is running on the system.

Here's a screenshot of my poor system when I use Process Explorer:

    http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2567/ProcessExplorer.PNG

The CPU column is usually the most interesting start with performance issues - which uses the most?

It is OK and normal to have several svchost exe processes running.  Important XP Services are actually running under svchost.exe processes. There are sometimes an XP Service that runs under a svchost.exe process, sometimes there are several Services in XP, which runs under a svchost.exe process.

Sometimes malware will hide behind a svchost.exe process because the malware knows that you won't be able to find it in the Task Manager.  He will hide behind a svchost.exe process to deceive you, but you can outsmart it.

Malicious software can disguise itself also seems to be a legitimate process of XP or he could hide under/behind other processes that you see running in Task Manager if you can't see the execution.

The malware would trick you into thinking you must use a System Restore Point, run a repair install or reinstall your XP from scratch when you really don't.

Looking at the display in process Explorer, you want the CPU most to be associated with the system idle process.  It's 'free time' on your system, so more time there, more free.

If you look at the graphs of performance and see red spikes (or not) double click the graphic in the upper left corner to display the graph to use.  Move the mouse over any pics to see what are the causes.  Even if the Spike has already scroll screen, you can still move the mouse over the edge to see what caused.  You can also just wait for a pic to happen and then see what caused the Spike.
