Possible upgrade for my card WIFI (AR9285) (AR9280) Dv7-3065dx

DV7-3065dx

Windows 7 Edition Home Premium x 64

Hello, I am looking to update my map of current wireless (AR9285) for the ATHEROS AR9280 network so I can use my signal of 5 GHz of routers. It seems that when you shop, the AR9280 and AR5BHB92-H model number are interchangeable and I'm a bit hesitant to buy one on eBay because I don't know if they are really the same card or not. Another approach, that I took was looking in the maintenance manual for the part number of HP for the AR9280 and lists 518437-001 and it pulls up to some more expensive options to eBay.

For me, to go with the item listed indicating the number 518437-001 HP substitution feel safest, but it's because I don't know much on the subject, but I don't want to be a sucker newbie who buys the article itself at a marked up price.

My questions: are AR9280, AR5BHB92-H, 518437-001 the same card? I'm going to face problems of 'white list' with all the options? Also are there better options that I can look?

I really appreciate the help.

Hello:

Change a wireless card in an HP laptop, it's nothing less than a nightmare.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02638165.PDF

Supported wireless adapters can be found in Chapter 3, beginning on page 3-6.

You can install one of the maps in the manual and it MUST have the part number HP on it or it won't work.

It's nice to buy a card supported on eBay, but you must query the HP part number, not the number of brand/model of the card.

First of all, I would like to input the part # s in the box on the link below and check the part number matches the description that you see in the list of the parts and the manual because several times the numbers in the manual is incorrect.

http://h20141.www2.HP.com/hpparts/default.aspx?mscssid=2CC545FB8E2B4351A889652C6EADF3C1

According to the manual, there are only 2 cards of 5.0 GHz band supported (if the descriptions in the parts store game).

1 Atheros 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module 9280AGN

2. 4322 Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module

The numbers are specific to each region so make sure that you select the right part number for the country you live.

As a general rule, her upgrade CPU what whether it is compatible with the motherboard will NOT give you a lot of performance. The GT 620 is a low range GPU and there are a lot more mature. Check the video card review sites for options. You will also receive additional RAM if it is not already overexploited, usually more than a costly upgrade of CPU.

  • Absolutely the best possible upgrade for a Dell Dimension C521 graphics card?

I've been upgraded to a Dell Dimension C521, that I use as a general computer and play games.

I know that he will never play in recent games, although with the x 1300 pro that was in it when I got it I have successfully played 2 games or 3 years and more. Runs of Prince of Persia: the forgotten sands, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Darksiders without any problem (all parameters lowish and resolution 800 x 600).

Since I got it I upgraded the CPU to an AMD Athlon 64 x 2 5600 + (Windsor) and the RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB, which has cost me about £25.

I really want to update the graphics card to something better than the Radeon x 1300 Pro that I have atm. I am aware that the PSU is only 280W and I need a map of low profile for this machine, although I read Dell generally insufficiently misses their PSUS in any case. All the posts I can find here and elsewhere online seem to be old enough and I wanted to make sure that I had discovered so far had not become outdated.

So far, I found that the recommended card is the Radeon HD 6570.

Can anyone suggest something better? If not, can anyone suggest what specific version of the 6570 to get (Sapphire, Asus etc.) and the amount of memory to get with it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Can anyone suggest something better?

XFX R7 240 Low Profile Ready

30 watts TDP, against 54 watts TDP for the 6570. Faster, too.

A version of the R7 240 GDDR5 will be even faster, but more money, as well.

As far as I understand there is a white list of BIOS for the authorized material that will require flashing before you install anything with non - Lenovo FRU. As I have not been able to find a card that is dealt with by Lenovo, I don't really see option to blink.

Could someone point me in the direction of a work card, or a mod of BIOS work? I thought the 7260 Intel as a replacement card.

Did anyone done this before? :-)

    Welcome to the forum!

There is no wireless card out-of-the-box-work AC for a T420, so looking for a mod of BIOS.

There are places online that specialize in the provision of modded bios, I doubt anyone here will post a direct link with one of them on Lenovo's own forum.

Time to put the search engine of your choice to work.

    Good luck.

    Hello

the first upgrade possible is memory, the technical details on this site shows that the memory is expandable up to 8 GB, but crucial, Web site, says 16GB, so I Googled it and found many people confirming the upgrade to 16GB but their laptops produced different model than mine. If anyone here has tried to update this particular model with 16 GB of RAM?, if not, I'll buy a new 2x4gb memories or just add an another 1x4Go?

the other upgrade is the screen, and I have two options:

    1. I found a spectrum defective xt touchsmart online, so I was wondering if it is possible to replace the screen of my desire 6 with the spectrum one like the design of chassis and dimensions on both are almost identical.

  • Firmware upgrade for SD card reader read the SDHC?

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop (Vista 32-bit, 1 MS) which has a player that reads SD cards * until * 4 GB. I lost my usb cable camera that I usually use with my 4 GB SDHC cards and need to download some photos for work as soon as possible and I was wondering if there is a hotfix update or software I can do my SD reader read my 4 GB SDHC card.

Any help would be much appreciated. I haven't found a potential for SP2 and Vista 64 and upward bugs and even there, I don't know what are what I'm looking to see that they are to solve a problem rather than increasing the pilot's ability.

    Thank you

Toshiba would have the firmware if it was available (www.csd.toshiba.com), but the first thing we do is to install the SP2 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Learn-how-to-install-Windows-Vista-Service-Pack-2-SP2 ALWAYS keep up to date with Service Packs or laptop you may be vulnerable.

  • Series of upgrade for graphics card F

I was looking in the upgrade of my laptop, but as you know, most laptops are not expandable so I looked in my Sony VAIO (VPCF23JFX) F series and I wonder if it's expandable, as seems to be less efficient because I ordered the bundle of battlefield 3 and it can barely run low graphics settings.

Thanks for the reply, it's disappointing that the GPU is integrated, but I wonder, because I saw the forum posts on other sites that there may be large enough to hold a second (?) graphics card. I downloaded the recent update of the GPU, and I also 6 GB of memory so I will try to acquire more. Another thing that bothers me is that I can't access my BIOS my GPU control center as some of my video games to be used by the power output in the GPU. As my friend tells me that I don't know much about computers.

    Hi, Frank:

Here is the link to the manual of service associated with your laptop.

Supported wireless cards are listed in Chapter 3, pages 19 and 20.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01988326.PDF

You can use one of the listed supported cards and they must have the part number HP on them or will not work.

I would look on eBay for cards b/g/n used, but tested and functional one of the models listed.

Make sure you get you a list for the country you live in.

Questioned by the HP part number and only buy a card where you actually see the part number shown in the picture.

Or buy a new one from HP on the link below.

  • HP P6 2120t: possible cards for the card mother Pegatron IPISB-CU on a computer of 2120t HP P6

So, I'm looking to upgrade my graphics recently. Over the months, I've been looking around and find out a lot about how work cards graphics, and I need to find one. However, what I don't know much about is the compatibility of graphics cards with card mother Pegatron IPISB-CU. I checked and I'm running on FRIEND 7.19 BIOS update 02/04/2012. It seems that I need to look for graphics cards that can work with "Legacy" BIOS. However, it's not not clear that even if I bought one it would work. I was hoping so to ask HP and the community if there was in fact a strong graphics card that would be 100% some works with my motherboard/BIOS card.

To archive the many discussions of forums, it seems the MSI 750ti ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127783 & cm_re=msi_750-_-14-127-783-_-Product ) is my best bet because it is said to have a switch making it compatible Legacy Boot. However, read the description of the product, I have not found this mentioned in the features. What scares me.

If someone could shed some light on what I'm working with. I would be extremely grateful. I'm ready for the possibility that there is no viable option other than buying a new motherboard and the OS, but if I can get away with upgrading my current system I would be very grateful.

Thanks to all who take the time to read/answer

    Drew

At the company MSI Web page in the master record for this MSI cardunfortunately didn't even State if power 6-pin PCIe connectors are needed. Also, it does not specify that there a dual BIOS or the old BIOS support. I wouldn't consider this one for your motherboard.

You may need to upgrade the PSU as your installed PSU doesn't have 6 - pin PCIe connectors with power cable to power the card video update.

EVGA and Gigabyte are also PCIe x 16 graphics cards with dual BIOS allowing a choice of inheritance or the EFI.

What is 100% certainty in the work with your motherboard, you upgrade a ready to use PC or a system as you put as well as components custom, studied and chosen by yourself.

I suggest you buy your video card with your credit card. If this does not work with your motherboard you can return. Which takes an element of risk fomr away the attempt.
