  I understand that you are having problems with the removal of the Local snapshot that belongs to your time Machine upwards. It's something that you can get rid of by disabling Time Machine. When you turn that off, this disabled the Local Snapshot function and it is removed from your Mac. When you turn back the Time Machine, is activated again.   A race condition?  What's with the two readings at the same time?  Keep the opened file is not a problem, but remember that there is a file pointer.  If you read empty strings, it's probably because you're at the end of the file.  Use Set leader VI to set Position is for the beginning of the file.
