  A flashing of the LED DC-IN (as I understand it to be from your description) is never good! Take a moment to think about if you have recently installed any device (drive HARD, CD, DVD, Memory expansion/PC Card...).
  If so remove it and try again.
  If that is not enough then I think it's time for the service. A DC - IN flashing normally means that there is some kind of electrical problem in the machine.

  Ive got a satellite A60-155 and its just out of warranty, but isn't there always the way I pulled the plug on the back of my laptop and the center of the pin of the plug on the laptop came out with it.

  I have also experienced the center pin breaking on the my SA30 power outlet. As you rightly say, they are not particularly robust and can easily be damaged by something to catch the cable when it is plugged.

  I recommend restarting the system in safe mode and see if you can remove it from there. You should be able to go in Control Panel to add/remove programs and remove it.

  I followed bandages on Apple Hardware Test, but cannot get that from managed by operation D key during startup. Also tried Apple diagnostics, but which does not either. My installation disk 2 app doesn't open as its now too old.

  Who is your boot, the SSD or HD drive? If you do not know click System - startup disk Preferences and select the drive you designated as your boot drive, then click on reboot to test. If the boot drive is the HD and the performance has still hardly start then in the Partition Recovery (command-R) and select disk utility and launch the disk First aid. If it displays errors is either failing or failed.
