  I have a laptop TX 2500 a few years back I left it to my mother and I just got back when I went to turn it on after a while not to be used a black screen comes up saying "enter the power on password" in a blue box... After some testing, it gave me an error message. AND SAYS system disable the key: 79211060... Since I bought a few years ago, my warranty is up
  I just want back if possible the old pictures and to do so in order to market as a backup computer. .. any help would be appreciated

  Looks like you are looking for a password here, we will surely help you with this problem

  Please try this password = 48681220

  Steps to follow:

  1. Use the posted above unlock code to access the BIOS
  2. Disable all passwords that are enabled
  3. If current password request - type the unlock code
  4. New password, simply press the ENTER key
  5. Repeat the same thing to check the password column.
  6. Then exit the BIOS saving & exit option to save the changes.

  Troubleshooting:

  Incase if the password does not work please try a Hard Reset as follows.

  1. Shut down the laptop
  2. Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery
  3. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds
  4. Plug the power supply/AC adapter (leave the battery for now) & start Notepad
  5. If now see you a password, please enter the same password I've shared before and press on enter

  Sorry it looks that the codes do not work, you should include other options or opening up the system and reset the chip for the BIOS manually, maybe some have open and examine the question

• HP G71-333NR laptop: how to circumvent disable them system & Admin password

  Product name: HP G71-333NR laptop

  Operating system: Windows XP

  Error message: "enter password administrator or power on password"

  Changes to the system that caused the problem to occur:

  Laptop was stolen from the car two weeks before Christmas, but was recovered by the police and returned to me a month later.  During playback to laptop, the battery was dead and the block of power supply/cord & mouse has not been returned with the laptop.  I had a dell PSU power supply/cord that adapt and used to turn on the computer.   A black screen with a blue box asking to 'Password administrator or power on password'.   After 4-5 attempts to enter the password has been set for windows, the disabled system itself.   I have to remove the battery and connect the power cord to reset the computer that keeps asking to 'Password administrator or power on password'.   I don't want to restore or reset the computer to lose all my personal data stored before being stolen.   Anyway to replace it or is it a "generic password" to use as a way to bypass this screen so that it can operate and return to the login screen of Windows?   I REALLY NEED HELP ON THIS!
