PowerEdge T-420 with Perc 310 - how do controller ports relate to the physical disks

I understand that Perc 310 has two connectors for SAS, each controller has four ports.  However, I can't end on how they relate to real disk slots in the bottom of basket.

We will have four disks raid 1 + 0, and I want to make sure they are properly prepared so that if a channel controller fails it has the right mix of disks on the other channel continues to run.

Thank you

Sorry NickC_UK

It would be 0-7 on the SAS and SAS b 8-15.

If your goal is to reinstall the operating system there are ways to achieve

We need to tap the F11 key immediately after presswing the laptop power button. Who will call the Recovery Manager unless you have deleted the recovery partition or have done something to the original disk partition scheme. In the Recovery Manager simply choose to recover your PC for the original operating system

Alternatively, you can order a set of HP recovery disks.

  • Accidentally made any programs with BS Player, how to restore them to open the program itself?

A few weeks ago, I wanted to open a video with a video player called BS Player. He was not in a format MP4V, so I chose open with--> program select default--> then BS player. I didn't notice the little box that says "use this program to open this type of file", then I noticed anything happened, but then when I went back on the desktop what is default Windows had a BS Player icon. for example: Skype, Google Chrome and somehow Microsoft Office too. Help, please!

    Hello

Please follow the methods and check if it works very well.

    Method 1:

Follow the steps in the link.

When you run an .exe on a Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer file, the file can start another program

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/950505

Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. I have HP LaunchBox manager and HP Setup Manager.  What to do to make the drive o/s?

    go to start

    find HP help and Support

Click on the one here is the HP configuration manager

    run this program

    Click set up backup

in the new window, you have 2 options

    or

    Create recovery discs

    choose to create recovery disks

    Now click on

    Launch the HP Recovery Manager

    Now you can choose

It is not in the start menu as stated the help files you sent.

  • How to activate predictive text on the physical keyboard on x 2 Android Slate10

    Hello

I just bought a 10 x 2 with 4.3 installed Android slate. I want to know how to disable the predictive entry that appears when I use the physical keyboard (or the called party base).

When I use the Tablet without the base. The predicitve entry does not appear because I disabled it under "language settings &", but it seems that the same setting does not apply when I connected the tablet at the base.

Help, please. The pop-up window is really annoying and kill my otherwise wonderful experience with this tablet.

For example when I want google information on this product, I typed Slate10 but won't allow not predictive entry hit me beyond Slate1, because they do not have Slate10 on the list so I had to hit a space and come back to put in the '0'.

    Thank you.

Hi, I had just accidentally discovered the solution!
'Shift + Enter' will toggle the prediction of input when you use the keyboard/base.

    To reinstall Vista:

You can not legally do a clean install of Vista with a Vista Upgrade disk/license.

Reinstall XP > then go to Vista.

Here's a startup repair disk, you can do:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

  • Structure of files in Windows 7 - how Desktop level is related to the level of Documents

It seems that the highest level in the structure of files in windows 7, for a specific user, or office. The documents appears to be a sub-level.

If I can change this hierarchy and if I don't me I run in trouble? (in my mind, the office is subservient to the Documents. Desktop is

simply a place among many others that a document can be stored). So if I had to continue my logic, I would have the following as

    the structure:

    machine

    user

    documents

    Visual

    auditory

    network

    devices of

subservient to my questions above, I'd love to know the entire tree structure of files for windows 7, and if possible, how it can change for windos 10

    Thank you.

Let me clarify a few things quickly.

'Computer' is really just a way to see all top level in one place, which is your access to the physical storage devices, IE the hard drives, CDs, flash drives, etc. (who receive a letter, that is to say C is your primary drive which includes your OS, E is an external hard drive, F corresponds to the DVD player) K is a player flash etc.). These devices are your higher real level.

On the next level, all but C (the disk containing the operating system) is pretty much defined by someone ' u as the user put into it, apart from all the files in the device really should run, that in general, you won't see, and whatever it is pre-installed, which usually take.

The second level to the C drive, however, is a little different. While you can add your own folders generally however you want to, by default, it includes a number of files that manage operations for your OS and your manufacturer, performance logs, fonts, etc. and the file you are looking for specifically, users. The latter contains folders for each "user" of your machine (user accounts, files accessible to the public, in addition to the files for some programs that run out of any user account, not your system). In this case, you must, in addition to your own files and folders, you decide to put there, a number of files 'default', like Documents, desktop, Favorites, etc. These are paths to commonly used files, and some have uses within your system (IE desktop contains your desktop, Favorites contains your Favorites from Internet Explorer, etc.).

To my knowledge, Windows manages the movement of these types of cases, but I have not dealt with it before, I let someone else to answer if it's ok to do, and what would be the possible consequences.

  • How do I change or remove the password disk HARD on my Tecra A9

    Hi all

I looked for where I could, but didn't find any indication at all, so I'm asking here.

I have a Tecra A9 in need of resettlement, what I like to do for me.
I have a very good password on the HARD disk which I do not wish to give. So I want to change it or remove it completely.

Please someone, how do I do? In the BIOS, I don't see that it has been defined, but all what I try, I can not change or get rid of it.

Maybe I should add that since the original installation of the PC it was years ago and I don't remember not the 'Administrator' password.

Everything is under control. I know the 'controller' password and have already successfully removed the BIOS password. Smart TPM is disabled.

BUT what the disk hard drive password?
    Any help much appreciated!

  • How to recover files before using the recovery disk?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Equium and when I turn it on it loads the screen where you log does not appear, it has a black screen with a mouse, and I need to use the recovery disk to get back to normal, but I don't want to format the hard drive that I have a lot of files so it is anyway to recover the files?

    Hello

In my opinion the easiest way is you remove the laptop HARD drive and put it in a box external HARD disk. Then, you can connect this external HARD disk to a different computer now and have access to the files on your HARD drive and you can perform a backup.

An alternative you can boot from a Linux Live CD and back up your files on a different USB devices.

  • Drive on which Windows XP to reside is always labeled as a system drive. How can I make one of the other disks that has Vista or 7 that the new system?

    Change the system drive

I'll try to explain my situation better than I can.

My situation is that when I used to have XP installed, I had installed the only drive I had back then which is now the drive D, for a long time, so I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit installed on two different discs, Vista is installed on drive C and 7 is installed on drive E , but I don't have XP that I had managed to get rid of it.

My problem is that the drive on which Windows XP to reside has always left this disc marked as system in the disk management window, and I was wondering how to do that one of the other readers who has Vista or 7 that the new system?

I already managed to change the startup disk from drive where Vista is installed to, it's just that I need to change the disk that is marked as system to another drive, such as D drive begins to show signs that it comes at the end of his life and I would like to move the startup folder as well as the other files needed to start on the other.

I assume that you installed Windows XP 1, then Vista, 7 (these 2 OS not in order)?

And Vista and 7 was by all means upgrade installation?

Since originally, that you have installed Windows XP on drive D, it should be marked as 'system' and retains so the tag 'system '.

The volume of the 'system' should be identified as the first primary partition active. It may or may not have the files it contains.

The fact that the system considers "system drive" does not mean that there are files that it contains.

Now, you want to delete the existing volume and create a new volume. Needs to be done outside the facility.
When you start the cd or DVD to start the installation list us readers, if you remove the volume the volume drive letter is already booked, so you get the next available drive letter, do not re-use the deleted volume drive letter.

If he removed during installation and then recreated as a new volume (formatting does not remove the volume, you need to delete the volume and recreate it)

-[Posted by Darrell Gorter [MSFT] in another forum.]

Try to format the XP partition and change the drive letter.
