  No, I don't think that the HARD drive is the user extensible because _in this boite_ the laptop computer full cover must be removed to replace the HARD drive.

  It looks like the ROM modules can be updated by the user of the laptop. Other parts must be replaced by an approved engineer to keep the warranty valid.

  My question is, what is the maximum memory that can be installed.

  I suspect that the documentation has been published before HP started offering 8 GB DIMM desktop PC.

  The part of the similar model PC using the same motherboard can be configured up to 32 GB with 8 GB DIMMs.

  Here is the scenario, I invited XP and I want to spend the vswitch he connected too.

  Here is what happened last week and I would like to get feedback to see if I did something outside best practices.

  I have a xp machine who's job it is to move files within our company.  In house app, had problems with the performance, of course the bandwidth network has been a problem but also a sustained the 100% CPU usage whenever the application in the House is running. I made a few changes, first I changed the network card to a vswitch with no other guests connected, than giving a non-shared on the network connection to this comments

  I stopped our applications in the House that copies the edited files the client settings, change to the another vswitch, selecting ok...  Everything seemed fine, restarted apps and found no problem.

  The next day, I increased the RAM on the host of Meg 512 to 1024 Meg as the available physical ram was weak, and I suspected disk cache.  Stop the guest computer, editing the memory and it has increased from 1024 to vsphere...  Restarted and is the reason for my questions, which connects to run the application has been corrupted and would not load the profile.

  I should add that the application users often use the method "end task" through windows to complete the process as soon as they are sometimes does not.  Not something I tend to do what I think may be a cause of file corruption.

  We are currently running a vCenter 2.5 5 update on Windows 2003 32-bit Standard that we need to upgrade to vCenter 4. Unfortunately the latest version 4.1 needs a 64 bit OS...

  What is the best practice to update our vCenter 4.1 and keep all performance data? I suppose we ought to do it in severalsteps or not?

  (1) vCenter 4.0 Update 2 update

  (2) a copy of the updated vCenter database backup

  (3) to perform a new installation of Windows 2008 64-bit

  (4) to perform a new installation of vCenter 4.0 Update 2

  (5) to restore the database

  (6) update for vCenter 4.1

  Is this correct or am I missing something? Is there a more easy/better way?

  KO 1022104 contains best practices, and the Upgrade Guide is also a great resource to use for this upgrade planning.  Follow the steps in the Upgrade Guide and everything should go smoothly.

  This is a really difficult list of steps, confirmed by the Upgrade Guide:

  01 build of new VMS 64-bit for vCenter

  02. prep new vCenter VM for connectivity / SQL dependencies

  03. backup of the existing database.

  04 data backup current vCenter using Data Migration tool

  05 use the data migration tool to start the setup of the vCenter server and restore the configuration of the server vCenter to the destination machine.

  06 turn off from the old server vCenter.

  07 restore the vCenter Server Configuration and installing vCenter Server on the new server

  08 updated vCenter Server name of Plug-Ins (if the new vCenter has a different name)

  09. test cycle

  Ok. So a quick overview of the functioning of connections to Oracle...

  First, everything that connects to the database from outside machine will contact the listener Oracle (a separate process outside the database, but the database server). The listener then hand off the connection to the appropriate database. The listener is normally configured to run on a single port (1521), although you can configure the listener to operate on any desired port or to listen on multiple ports. One can argue that the listener running on a default undefined port improves security because an attacker would have to probe potentially many ports before they found the listener. But it's quite low security account bound to the number of places at the port must be kept.

  On most Unix systems (I mean at all, but I don't know that for sure), all communication with the database is going to happen on the listening port. On most Windows systems, however, the listener will redirect the connection on another port in the range unallocated. Which tends to be a royal pain if you try to connect through a firewall. You can force Windows Server through a single port as Unix (although no doubt there are performance implications to do). You can also use the connections through a firewall proxy Oracle connection manager.

  "Administration", although potentially covers a number of different things. If you speak of "DBA connects to the database via SQL * more to do s/n-ish things", then these connections pass by the listener, there is no change. Buy you can talk about things like using the web-based Enterprise Manager (using HTTP and HTTPS on the database server if you are using the control of the database with the HTTP connection that passes on a undefined port by default (7777 is common, I think)) or by using the Grid control or using SNMP to monitor the database and related processes resulting using a number of different ports potentially.

  I hope that this has not been asked before, but my question is this: I want to upgrade my laptop Windows XP to Windows 7.  But I've heard that all programs be uninstalled after installing Windows 7 on a computer running Windows XP.  I have to reinstall all the programs again to use CS4 Web Premium.  But my student edition says that I can only install the program on two computers.  Does that mean I can install the program twice, or can I still install on the same laptop after changing the operating system (I installed CS4 on both computers, my computer, laptop and desktop)?  I want to continue using CS4 Web Premium on my laptop but I'm worried I won't be able to install it because I installed CS4 on my laptop and desktop (two installed already).  I would like to know if I can install on the same laptop after upgrading to Windows 7.  Thanks in advance for the help.

  The question isn't installation... it's activation. Disable the software first. (Help > deactivate from any application).

  Back up all your data, preferences, etc. because, as you note, it will be a clean install of Windows. Know that it is only cool method to upgrade a Windows installation. NEVER don't upgrade a Windows in place (or, IMO, Mac OSX).

  Just got my new Win 7 Pro 64 bit PC. My old PC which is still up and running is a XP Pro 32 bit OS and Photoshop CS4 installed. I will be upgrading the 'new Win 7 64 - bit PC' for CS5 64-bit.

  It is true that the PS can be installed and operational on 2 PC? Can I have PS CS4 running on the old 32 bit and be able to install PS CS4 (64 bit) on the new PC?   As far as I know, you can install on 2 computers... the idea being an office and cell phones for travel

  You don't usually need installation to upgrade... everything you need is your old Serial # to enter when asked

  I hope someone can help me here;  in any case, to start with, the motherboard M2N68 - THE has a Phenom II X 4 945 cpu and 4 GB PNY pc2-6400 optimima running at 1.8 volts on a Win 7 64 bit OS.  I want to do is increase the Ram up to 8 GB of ram (2 x 4 GB) of the Patroit. This would be possible on this type of advice?  If this is not the case, what is the max voltage that the motherboard can handle because PNY has also 4 GB of ram with CAS4 XLR8 @ 2.0 v I had to get incase the Patroit cannot be used.

  The long story...
  my name is chris, and I'm trying to help a 14-year-old son, friends learn a lil more on his old pc.

  his pc has a hand and is obviously outdated, I got a bunch of old carcasses of office and let him rumage anything that would contribute to his pc. We found a total of 3 GB of ram ddr400mhz which is just below its limit of 4 GB machines.

  so I thought everything would go smoothly, it is certainly not my first ram upgrade, having built many of the old desktop computers it was inflict through, I consider myself pretty well informed on the pc and have renovated a lot of pc, same Freelancer my skills of mechanics and tokens for a lil extra cash on the side I have dealt with many a problem, repair and upgrade, since I took my first windows machine in 2000, before that I started with a commodore 64 and eventually got an apple iic when I was about 10 years old... anyway, what im getting here, is I USED to know my s#@t, but for some reason any It's evading me and google isn't offering anything on the subject.

  We planned on him to update to sp3 after have modernized their equipment as much as we can, while at the same time educate him as much as I could about how the computer worked, how to open and how to treat the components inside, it was the first time, he had never looked inside his machine or any machine besides...

  Windows XP SP2

  current installed RAM is [256 MB ddr 400 mhz] x 4 = a total of 1 GB

  tried to upgrade RAM parts:
  Ballistix [1 GB ddr 400 mhz] x 2 = a 2 GB total

  I thought it was probably a bios thing and was about to investigate, but we ran out of time, now I'm tender hand to this community in the hope that someone here can indicate what it is I'm obviosly dominant, I really want to get his machine is upgraded because it is expessing a lot of interest in Unity3D , and scripts, ANDS I'd like see hiw cultivate these skills and I can't buy a machine, and he cannot afford a new machine, so the upgrade of its rigging with these old quarters would be the most ideal situations for him, if we cannot find out we will simply create a new rig out of my 'old' , but the 3.0 ghz core dou in his dc 7100 cmt processor is probably better than any of the alternatives in my attic... so yes this is my dilemma and I hope that some here is kind enough to point me in the right direction

  Hello:

  You must have the total amount of memory in slots 1 and 3 are the same, and the same quantity in slots 2 and 4.

  The PC will not work if you put 1 GB in slot 1, 1 GB in slot 2 and 1 GB in the Groove 3 because you're short 1 GB in the empty slot 4 and just short of 1 GB in slot 4 = 5 beeps.

  Then... If you do not have 4 x 1 GB then use 1 GB in slots 1 and 3 and 256 MB in slots 2 and 4.

  64-bit Windows 7 operating system supports more than 8 GB, but the Intel Chipset GM45 Express in the Latitude E6500 supports a maximum of 8 GB of RAM. Therefore, the memory cannot be upgraded to 16 GB.
