  I try to get references to all of the screws in memory on multiple instances of LabVIEW application. Specifically, I'm trying to get the VI Refs screw (and their subVIs in memory) in another Explorer of projects at design time. (The other screws do not work.) It seems to me that it would be an another App Ref, but I guess I don't know how to get this reference.   I just tried the code below.  It runs in a single project; I have also open a second project with more than 300 screws and it opens a reference to each one without any error.  Are you the application instance reference wiring open Reference VI?

  I am running Windows 7 on this computer. I'm only under Firefox (without Add-ons) that runs one leg with flash. The flash seems to be stifled because there is not enough free memory.

  According to the Windows Task Manager, Firefox uses 213 MB (size of validation is 240 MB). The flash player plugin uses 127 MB (size of validation is 217 MB).

  Yet, in the Windows Task Manager, I see the following for physical memory:

  • Total - 3327
  • Cache - 1419
  • Available - 1391
  • Free - 1

  I think the problem is that so much memory is cached, but I don't know. However, I think a machine with 4 GB of RAM should easily run a single tab with flash...

  Try the first three parameters (res/color/themes) W7, that fails try under W95 (compat) and XP - SP3. If this fails, try all 5 with the same combinations.

  If you have an older Windows 95 operating system (or maybe an old W98) or even XP if you know runs in that, then you can be able to run the game in one of the free programs "virtual machines", i.e. of W95 running in a virtual machine actually running in W7. Something like http://www.vmware.com/products/player/faqs.html or http://www.virtualbox.org/ perhaps (good read) but you will need a valid MS OS W95/98 to install in the virtual machine.

  You might get an estimate ( approximation ) If you are using explain plan.

  But you have governed to explain plan for a reason, so I can't help you.
  Why you do not want to use don't explain plan?

  c. cardinality ("Rows") is estimated at each stage of the particular execution plan

  What is, in most cases, the entry "wrongest" is the cardinality estimate and that changes everything.

  I would use 'time' in a Plan with the exception of the simplest to explain SQL statements and good statistics on the table (however multi-column predicates can still cause bad cardinality estimates).
  Therefore, I would use the estimation of 'Time' almost never.

  I have a problem with an application that freezes with messagebox not "enough memory for the operation".
  I repeat, the problem on 7 different model laptop Tecra M9 with configuration: 1024 + 1024 MB RAM with Nvidia NVS130M.

  I tried to change the virtual with ratio 1.5 * ram, 2 * ram memory... and even without virtual memory... every time the same result, when the memory used by file (visible in the Manager of tasks bargraph) occupies about 1.30 GB, the message box appears an application stopped.
  I did a disk defragmentation, checked the Ram, tried the 3 G option in boot.ini, no way.

  Finally, 'just to be sure', I took 1 Bank of Ram of the laptop, and then, with only 1024 MB of Ram, the problem goes away, the Task Manager indicates a value stabilized to used memory (a bit more then 1 GB).

  I don't think it is the right solution for 'downgrade' the size of Ram, if someone already has this kind of problem?

  Hmmm, check if you can run Notepad with another RAM module removed.
  I'm not quite sure but it is possible to m the error could be related to a dysfunction of the RAM.

• Is there a way to install exe to a vi on a XP machine without running LV and not restart?

  I need deploy an application that reads the channels in a FP module for testing purposes. The problem is, I can't restart the system, I need to install this on because it runs the critical control software that cannot be interrupted. The system does not have the labview runtime engine and I can't install this requires a restart of XP probably due to registration of dll or something.

  I use "Fieldpoint network read" read from the module. The simple answer would be to simply install on a machine on the same network can I restart. However, I have no such luxury because I connect to the system over a long distance connection, VPN and I need to be able to query the FP data every 250ms, which may be too much for the connection.

  So basically, I need to find a way to read data from the PF in a manner similar to "PS Network read" without having to restart the system.  Is it possible to do it with labview? Otherwise, I may be able to write this application using LabWindows because I know some software is already running on this machine programmed with that.

  The first thing I would say is that a reboot is not necessary.  I installed LabVIEW development environment since and when asked I told him I want to reboot later.  Then I open LabVIEW and coding.  I don't know what he thinks, you need to restart for, but maybe it's not necessary.
