Presario CQ60: windows 7

so my PC originally shipped with windows 7 pre installed on it... I have upgraded to windows 10 and its been more then 30 days since the upgrade. I want to go back to windows 7, so I went to microsofts Web site to download a copy of windows 7 and put in the product key from the sticker from the bottom of my PC

After hitting validate I get the following error

the product key you have entered seems to be for software pre-installed by the manufacturer of the device. Contact the manufacturer of the software device for recovery options

How can I go back to what was pre installed on my PC without having to buy a copy of windows 7?

Hello.  I know for my brother, if his Compaq Presario CQ60-210US laptop that is running Vista 32-bit operating system, can be upgraded to a 64-bit version/edition of Windows 7, 8.1/8 or 10?   As stated, the laptop OS is Vista 32 bit, and I think that's Vista Home Premium, but I'm not sure.  It has 4 GB of RAM, which is the maximum for a 32 bit OS.   I realize that you can do an upgrade on the spot of a 32-bit operating system to a 64-bit OS and it will take a clean install, but nobody knows if material of this laptop, BIOS etc supports 64-bit operating systems?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It is my opinion, to you, you can run 64-bit or 32-bit. Sogtware much still run as 32-bit anyway.

  • Compaq presario cq60: compaq presario cq60 driver coprocessor for windows 100

    Hello

I am looking for a software driver coprocessor for compaq presario cq60 for Windows 10 operating system. Windows Update could not find my driver. HP support shows also the coprocessor driver. I think due to not installing the driver the logoff process is very slow and it takes about 8 minutes to close.  If you have the driver, please give me the link to download.  Thank you.

    Hello:

I don't know what file you are talking about.

The sp45168 of 32-bit file, or SMU 64-bit file I have attached.  The 32 bit sp45168 file is a valid exe file.

If you are referring to the SMU 64 bit file that I have attached, everything that you do with, i.e. download and uncompress the latter in his file.

You do not do anything with the files in the folder.  There is no exe file to launch.

You navigate to the folder that you have unpacked from the coprocessor in Device Manager device by clicking the coprocessor, click the driver tab, and then click Update driver, click Browse my computer for driver software option, navigate to the folder of the driver EMS that you unzipped.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.

    Restart the PC.

Of the hardware ID you have validated, you need the driver for the wireless card: PCI\VEN_168C & DEV_001C:

  • Problem of PC keyboard laptop Compaq Presario CQ60-224NR after the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7

I have recently upgraded the OS on my laptop PC Compaq Presario CQ60 224NR Vista Service Pack 2 to Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit Service Pack 1.  I updated the drivers before upgrading and checked for the latest drivers after upgrade also.  After the upgrade, the keyboard of the laptop works only partially when I use a web browser.  This includes IE and Firefox.  Above the QWERTY keys do not work correctly.  If I press one of these keys or SHIFT and one of these keys, the last character, symbol, or space I typed before is repeated instead.  Y at - it a fix for this problem?

Well, I searched for several hours and found a solution, at least for me I am a customer of Comcast and I installed constant guard.  There is a key logger that is included in the package that it causes the problem.  I uninstalled GuardedID and my problem disappeared.  I hope it works for you.

  • Problem with the Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX

Hello, I'm having a problem with my NEW Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX mother. Every time it boots up vista and I run internet explorer, I get a strange blue screen which exports a file memory and reboots.

I have the feeling that this might have been caused by a virus, but I can't do something, because Vista can't reformat long for some reason any.

I tried a hard test in my motherboard and he said that there is something wrong with my hard drive.

I don't know what is happening, right now I'm in safe mode trying to find viruses that Nod32 does not detect everything.

Can someone tell me how I can get either the Windows XP Discs to work at startup (which, for some reason, they do not), or an alternative to a long format?

Is there a way to fix this without reformatting? There's almost nothing on this laptop anyway so I'm always willing to do. A regular format has done nothing to solve the problem, I did it with Ubuntu and it did a quick format, but I had no problem with Ubuntu. Then I reinstall Vista and I am constantly having problems with a blue screen of death.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    The Chemich does not exist

If you want to do a reinstall of Vista then press F11 continuously during the boot upward. This will bring you in Recovery Options were you can choose to restore the system in the same State as when it was purchased. But if, as you suggested, is that a problem of hard drive reinstall won't help.

  • Presario CQ60 420us: How can I upgrade my Presario CQ60 420us?

    Presario CQ60 420us, (p/n NW156UA #ABA)

I intend to switch to Win 7 (64 bit) OS and want to upgrade the computer while I'm. The best I can teli of the prominent absesce, maintenance and repair, CPU Pentium T4200 Dual Core (2 GB) that I won't be able to upgrade the processor.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I also am intrerested in an upgrade of memory and a fast graphics card.  What can you tell me?

Can't tell you much that you will love. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Memory tops out at 4 concerts. It's DDR2-800, which is expensive. You are right your T4200 does not appear in the manual so that it's weird, but the good new minor is that you have a GL45 chipset so that you can install a T9400 processor on your motherboard. You have the chart GMA 4500 who won't get it for any game you can do. Even if you went to a T9400 it would not help the video. There is another motherboard with nVidia GeForce 9200 graphics that would be a little better, but are still much, much obsolete. There is no video card. The video is part of the motherboard (welded on) and what you have is what is on the available motherboards. Laptop motherboards are punctual; There is no universal standard on desktop computers. Your processor is 64-bit, so you can install Windows 7 or 8 64-bit that goes Ho-UM OK with 4 GB of RAM.

You have the computer equivalent of a 2002 Ford E * ort here. (This forum censors the word referring to the Ford car as if I talk about something completely different.) It is a competent car for everyday driving, but there is no amount of money, you can put in it to make it a competitive runner of the street. Think in terms of a new computer, not spend money on this one.

Hi realpommy. If you encounter problems with HDMI output and let Windows determine the pilots, who could be part of the issue.  First of all try to install these Windows 7 drivers provided by HP for your laptop: NVIDIA nForce Chipset MCP77MV graphics drivers

After installation and reboot, if you still have problems with video output look in Device Manager, to ensure that there is no error, or "unknown devices".  The section "Understanding of the symbols of error Device Manager" in this document:

  • Questions of Compaq Presario CQ60 with restore settings factory, sticked on a blue screen (BSOD, no)

Hello, I have to get my usual laptop fixed, so I decided to get out of my Presario CQ60, which I have not used in 4-5 years. The operating system is Windows Vista Basic and I want to perform a restore factory settings (I don't mind losing the data on it) and upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. So far I tried to do a restore to factory settings by pressing F11 several times to start, and I get to a screen that says "Windows loading files", which leads to a black screen. After what seems like a long time, a blue screen appears where I have control of my cursor (not the Blue Screen of Death) and nothing has changed since. I will update with any changes, because things seem to happen after letting it go for a while, but for now any suggestions on what to do? Let me know if I've left out any information. Thank you!

    Hello

We can not help you with this problem of factory settings.

Press F11 at STARTUP is the method that HP plans to use.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&docName=c00809678#n405

    1. Turn off the computer if it is not already turned off.
    2. Disconnect any external devices such as printers, USB drives and memory cards.
    3. Turn on the computer and immediately press the F11 key several times , about once a second, until the Recovery Manager opens.
    4. In the Recovery Manager welcome screen, click Next .
    5. On the Microsoft System Restore screen, select No , and then click Next .
    6. On the System Recovery screen, select Yes , and then click Next to continue the recovery process.

    etc.

And that is the recovery Partition and the process which they installed during the manufacturing process, not Microsoft HP

You will need to contact HP or ask questions in the forums to Support HP about this problem.
