    HI - lets get right:

You have now the Compaq Presario CQ61-319WM in front of you is preloaded with Win7, but you want to downgrade to your copy of XP64bit.

    Your system is:

AMD Athlon II M300 64-bit multiprocessor Dual Core @ 2 GHz

    RS780/RS880 (M)<- your="" northbridge="">
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 (3400 variant?)<- your="">
    SB750<- southbridge="">

1 unit comes with a 250 GB HARD drive. Replace it with another SATA HDD for your copy of xp64 bit before powering it, by registering and activating, seeing that this solution is not yet complete, saving your software Windows 7 preinstalled in this way.

NOTE: Do not install Windows XP 64 - bit Edition on your current 250GB Win7. If you did get the Compaq CD to restore.

Download nLite from 2 a. nLiteOS.com to integrate SATA drivers (called: "Slipstream") inside your Windows CD otherwise: BSOD. (recommended method)

    -or-

2B. After changing BIOS to recognize the floppy USB download drive drivers SATA on diskette and the XP CD, press F6 to manually load these drivers SATA AHCI floppy.

    3. use your Slipstreamed CD and let XP starts normally (no key of F)

    -Si Windows successfully installed continue-

    4. now that XP64 bit runs the first thing that you want to install the .NET Framework 3.0 would be.

    5. install Visual C++ redistributable (free version)

6 install the network driver. See below

NOTE: 8102 & 8103 pilots would most likely work, not 8139 family.

On our test unit CQ61 we currently have ALL but TWO missing drivers. the Audio driver and the video!

After consultation with AMD, IDT and Insyde each has decided that this problem is with Compaq "Softpaqs Engineering Team", in the meantime a viable solution. Support for Compaq of level 2 has been unable to help in this case, however, agreed to intensify this concern to the "level 3" (genius).

"Diversity is the key to break the monotony" Obviously, still a challenge for the Presario team in this area.

Our testing shows that the problem exists in the firmware of the cards mothers; Perhaps the BIOS. Insyde (SSII BIOS) indicated that HP/Compaq has the "sp?.» solution "exe" and refused further assistance because of HP/Compaq contracts. "

So why Compaq insist on locking/force their users in Windows 7, without other Windows based operating system options for this model and others who are currently in production? We're going to investigate.

Currently, Windows XP 64-bit Edition is still being supported by Microsoft after January 10, 2010. So why not HP?

    Finally.

Here we have the more stable driver, for most official, complete the value for the model CQ61 running XP64 (and possibly XP as well). It concerns all the drivers listed below:

    Driver SATA AHCI-

    Bus - SM

    -Realtek Ethernet Controller

-ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 video driver

    Driver Modem Agere-

    -Atheros WiFi driver

Use this forum as the timestamp.

There were too many sources to the list for the updated driver, so a full driver package was created in place to keep things simple, without all the headaches of doing it yourself.

This package should work on XP 64-bit operating systems based and is released as is. The instructions are inside each directory.

NOTE: After downloading Please run the 1st prerequisites folder, then all other folders depending on numbers starting with 1 ( 0 record is for your slipstream). Here are the details of the file:

The V6320CA uses XP drivers V6000Z page. NVIDIA Chipset first install and reboot before other drivers. MS UAA before Conexant Audio and Modem. Others that you need are there and can be done in any order:

  • Need to "downgrade" my Compaq Presario CQ57 of Windows 8

A few weeks ago, I upgraded my Presario CQ57 to Windows 8.  Well, I don't like her, and I now have a desktop computer that is anyway a touchscreen that works beautifully.  I thought about my computer limited knowledge that I had created the backup disks to restore my system to Windows 7 Home Premium, but it turns out it's a repair disc.

Is it possible for me to order the right from HP disk to return my laptop for Windows 7?  I found something on the internet with this post: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-e-g/The-Cleanest-Install-Windows-7-Recovery-D...

I don't know what to do.  Any help would be appreciated!  Thank you!

    Hello:

Please read the info on the link below to see how to order for your PC recovery disc:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143

I believe that my instructions are easy to follow to make your own install of W7 media, if you do more like that.

You can also make your own regular install of W7 disc and allows to reinstall windows 7 If you can read the product key 25 character microsoft on the COA sticker on the case of the PC. You will have none of the programs supplied with the PC using this method, however.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • Presario C551NR (C500) Downgrade from Vista to XP Pro

    Hello

I have a Presario C551NR comes with Vista Home Basic I want to install XP Pro on.  I saw the (excellent) CherylG article, but the C500 series is not expressly mentioned in his post.  Well, I want to do everything necessary to make the change, but I would like to know is it possible before starting down what could be a long road and rocky!

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Thank you

    George

Should be pretty easy to accomplish. Just enter the BIOS and disable the native SATA mode if you do not want to integrate driver and burn a new cd of XP.

You have Intel Chipset and Intel 950 graphics. Most of these pilots are in the link in the Guide for VX5xx and below. Should also find your Broadcom wireless driver there.check now your device manager to make sure wireless since HP uses Intel and Broadcom, Atheros.

A nice feature is that HP posted a Conexant Audio & Modem on your Drivers XP page. You will need MS UAA installed first by following the instructions in the XP Guide. I also noticed a Synaptics touchpad driver here.

  • PRESARIO CQ58-100SL: FAULTY BIOS, IS POSSIBLE TO DOWNGRADE IT SAFELY?

    Nicely,
I'll report my problem and I performed the steps in debugging.

Intro: Win10 already installed and updated with all devices properly installed and works perfectly, I decided to update the BIOS to the original and very old F.02 to a last F.29 (AMD platform).

Since then, cord realtek nic has disappeared from the windows Device Manager and:

    1. In the BIOS, in the command menu boot device (legacy and uefi), the cable network is the only one marked with an exclamation point (e.g.! network card)
    2. A device for the next conflict appears in Device Manager Windows: pci\ven_1022 & dev_43a1 & subsys_00001022
The error message is: the specified device generates a resource conflict. (Code 12). To use this device will need to disable one of the other devices in the system.

    I tried to:

    1. Reinstall the operating system
    2. uninstall the device in conflict, and then restart the operating system
    3. run windows update check if AMD has seem some drivers updated on its website; the only ones available are those for the chipset: http://support.amd.com/it-it/download/desktop/lega cy? product = legacy4 & os = Windows 2010% 20-% 2064

    Consider that:

    1. another user of this forum has the same identical problem with the same bios F.29
    2. previous versions of BIOS fixed lan similar questions about win8 nic so I think that this could be a similar case
    3. Win7 does not suffer from this problem

    My questions are:

    1. I can downgrade the BIOS by using a safe procedure or would be risky?
    2. I can draw attention to HP about this problem (and how) or would be useless because the laptop is 4years old?
    3. I try something else to solve the problem without flashing the BIOS again?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi @Mrstenter,

I didn't have the HP_TOOL partition because I just installed a new SSD so the Recovery Manager did not start using the key combination.

In any case, it was enough to download F.27 previous BIOS version and run the HP update from windows and... the network device conflict has been resolved!

While I did not understand the syntax to allow the performer Forum take command of the mention, in any case this isn't a big problem.

    Thank you.

    Hello

First thing to do is to make sure that XP drivers are available for your model computer.

Search drivers XP here model number: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

Then, buy a XP disk and license. You will have to search in online stores (beware of scams, piracy!), for old copies computer stores, etc.

Then, if you can buy XP, perform a new installation of XP, Vista operating system cut the hard during the XP installation.

  • Questions to downgrade from Win7 to XP Pro on Presario CQ60-615DX

    Cheryl,

I have deleted all partitions with a linux boot disk and try to put on a new copy of XP.

I use a floppy drive external in order to install the SATA drivers during installation, however using the instructions in the sticky thread I always get the BSOD.

    I followed these instructions:

"The new Presario and HP models (CQ20, CQ50 CQ60 CQ70, G50, G60, G70) with processor installed Intel ICH9 sata driver to be integrated in the setup of XP, while the AMD CPU needs no additional drivers to install.

You can use the external floppy and F6 during windows XP Setup, best option use Nlite. Guide to wake driver sata (shows only the ICH8 sata driver guide)

    Download nLite

    1. ICH8 driver sata

    2 ICH9 sata driver

"The pilot is located in iaAHCI.inf and is called ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller '

I read this as indicating that I can use the optional floppy drive... but I'm starting to wonder if I should integrate the driver (I really want to avoid this process at this point)...

I checked the ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller driver is listed in the file DOWNLOAD ICH9 above iaahci.inf. However, the options listed on the installation of Windows F6 screen are as follows:

    1.) Intel(r) ICH7R/DH SATA RAID Controller

    2.) Intel(r) ICHC7MDH SATA RAID Controller

    3.) Intel(r) ICH8/ICH9R/ICH10R / / PCH SATA RAID Controller

    4.) Intel(r) ICH8M - E / ICH9M - E / PCHM SATA RAID Controller

When you try to load the two option 3 and 4 above, I always get a BSOD.

Needless to say, after two days of work on this, I am extremely frustrated. What I am doing wrong?

BTW, I like the doc of the full support, it has been a great help...

    Thank you

    Joe

Butcher, a show don't remember having seen this one. My suggestion is to try the method of wake... don't kick n cry, is not as hard as you think. And once you have a cd made success you will probably never go back to the F6 method very proud_and. A plus is that you already have files on the diskette, you can use them with nLite.

Guide to Daniel as below is probably the best to follow in your state of agitation. Only thing change you in the Guide of nLite is for slipstream SP2 if you do not have it. Where the Guide says (6) in the "task Selection", choose "Drivers" and "Bootable ISO" of high-lighting them_you will also select Service Pack.

"You need a to integrate the drivers Sata   ( ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controlleronly) with nLite."

Here is the guide showing how to do it and here are Sata drivers . Just extract this driver with 7-zip (freeware)

Remember that you use at least Windows XP with Service Pack 2. If you have XP without any Service Pack (SP) or with only the Service Pack 1 (SP1) then you can download ( Service Pack 2 (SP2) here. Instructions how to integrate this file with a copy of your XP you will find in this guide.

nLite will give you the ability to burn your new XP disc with any changes you make here. "

  • How downgrade Presario CQ45 - 104TX from Vista to XP?

bought Presario CQ45-104TX in August 2008 and since then never formatted. But now I want to format the C: drive and install XP OS. Purchased in Hong Kong and the purchase I asked the Bank to install the English version of Vista for me. After the purchase, I divided the HDD 250 GB into four partitions. C: for OS; D: for data; I: for installation; and M: for the recovery partition.
When I try to install XP by booting from CD XP installation, and after some time screen turns blue by saying something like «windows stopped to avoid the crash... If this is the first time, try restarting the computer...» "and these 0 x 000000000 - including the last of them being 0 x 00000007. Then I tried Recovery Manager if there is a solution for formatting a certain training and installation of Vista. And I couldn't find the system recovery, which, in my understanding, format the entire hard drive (including C, D, I, M partitions), and then only installs a copy of Vista.
The question is how to format my C: drive and install a copy of XP? (while leaving the other intact partitions)

Lets discuss in the first place, VISTA

If you don't have a VISTA DVD Setup, there is no way for you to do a clean install of VISTA.

HP recovery disks will NOT be a clean install.

Try using the guide of orev in notebookreview.com for clean installation of VISTA, here

    Then on XP,

As mention in thread display, you must sliptream ICH9 sata driver.

If you did it right, you'll BSOD error.

    Good luck
