• Premiere Pro CS3 - Preset & Questions for media files

  Volunteered to create a high school highlight video using Premiere Pro CS3 on Mac football games.  The video will appear in a banquet hall with a NEC projector mounted on the ceiling.  The owner of the room has no info on the projector, so I do not know its resolution native or any other specifications.  The screen is full-size.

  I was given a potpourri of media:

  (1) DVD game of the team from the press box.  MPEG Streamclip shows the VOBs have these properties: 720 × 480, 4:3, 29.97 FPS, Mbit/s 9,30, upper field first - 128 AC3 2/0, 48 kHz, 256 Kbps.  Good or bad, I converted the files to import dv VOBs in PP with these properties: DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, 720 × 480, 4:3, 29.97 FPS, Mbit/s 28,77 - stereo 48 kHz, 28,77 Mbps DV.

  (2) field-level video taken with a Canon HV30 (HD, widescreen).  The files I received are: Apple Intermediate Codec, 960 × 540, 29.97 FPS, 30,09 Mbps - 16 bit Big Endian stereo, 48 kHz, 1.54 Mbps.  I could ask to have these repeated files in the form of SD files.

  (3) many line pictures (TIFF) taken with a Canon 30 d-side.

  After the installation of the project, I was counting on the final export of the video/audio as a mov file to be played from my hard drive top round instead of a DVD.  Not sure about the export settings for optimal quality.

  But first, what predefined PP should I use for this project, or should I use the custom settings?  If so, what would they be?

  I converted the VOBs in the correct format?

  Should I resume the HV30 images or convert it to another format?

  I have photos in Lightroom and can export to TIFF, JPEG, PSD or DNG and can resize down if necessary.  Any suggestions?

  Finally, I thought of the conversion of the background music of mp3s to aif files at 48 kHz, 16-bit to be consistent across different audio files.  Any suggestions with the audio?

  Any ideas or suggestions on these issues would be most appreciated.  If the answers to these questions depend on the type of projector, I have perhaps to wing it... or buy my own projector.  Ouch.

  I recommend that you configure a 720 x 480 4:3 project.  At the very least, have

  recapture them #2 as widescreen SD video files (I will refrain

  to comment on the usefulness of the AIC to half-HD) the

  recovered files widescreen SD eventually letterboxes in your 4:3

  timeline.  Your other choice would be to implement a 720 x 480 16:9 project,

  but who would eventually pillarboxed 4:3 image.  Your choice.

  I think you did a great job converting the VOBs.

  Resize images in Photoshop.  Get closer to 720 x 480 like you

  can adjustment upward to take account of any panning and zoom that

  You can do.  But do not increase the size more than you

• A question about the predefined text typewriter and rates.

  How can I do so that I had to have 2 pieces of text separated into 2 layers different length different, the typewriter effect works at the same rate for each of them? As in, I want to ensure that regardless of the amount of text has a line, she always "type" X-characters-per frame.   under set advanced the 'Index' units, set keyframes for start in the same place in time. your text will be held by index number of characters and not the percentage of all characters = same speed

  

  I did thousands of transcripts in preset of the typewriter and many years ago, we found that the index is much better than percent for many reasons.

• Lightroom CC does not allow me to enter the new name of profile for export to ColorChecker

  I have the latest version of the Lightroom CC running on Windows 8.1.  I bought a passport from X - Rite ColorChecker (CH) today and installed the software that came with it.  With the help of my Nikon D7100, I took a gross picture of me holding the CH in my hand and then imported it (.) NEF file) in my LR library (selected the copy option in the import window).  Then, I went to the region to develop for the same imported photo.  Subsequently, I clicked on the file menu-> export-> ColorChecker Passport now to create a new profile.  The LR never gave me a chance to enter a profile name, in other words, it never displays the popup dialog window enter the name of the DNG profile.  However, it has created a new custom profile named 'profile '. I can see it on the camera Calibration tab.  I tried to redo the same process, and he said you want to substitute the present 'profile'.

  How can I get the popup dialog enter the name of the upcoming DNG profile?

  X Rite has not updated the Lightroom Plugin for 2011, and it seems that some users have problems with Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. The link below is what I proposed to a single user. The poster did not, so I don't know if it was ever resolved. It works very well on my system Windows 7 using LR 2015.1.1 is most likely a problem of Windows compatibility.

• Question of tool Presets

  I'm trying to understand how to manage custom tools in Photoshop CC 2015 (latest version).

  Background: I got three .tpl files for a lynda.com course "Photoshop CS6 News: brushes."  Let's call them, X.tpl, Y.tpl and Z.tpl.  In the preset manager, I put the Preset Type = tools, then charged each of the files .tpl using the button load.  As each loaded file, the preset in the Preset Manager list grew. The list is in alphabetical order, while it was impossible to say what predefined have been newly added to each pressure on the Load button.

  Here's my question: in the preset manager and the tools Panel preset, the flyout does not display the predefined custom tools that I just loaded.  In other words, it does not display a X, Y and Z.  It shows only the predefined default settings.  If I want to delete one of the custom tool presets I just added (say those of X.tpl), the only way I can see to do is restore the default settings (drop-down menu-> reset the predefined tools).  But then I lose ALL the presets of X.tpl, Y.tpl and Z.tpl.

  Here's my question: How can I determine which tool presets comes from a given file (say X.tpl), and how to manage these presets independently of the presets added from a different file (say Y.tpl)?

  Because I couldn't find a way to make the inside of Photoshop, I looked in the Windows file system for where Photoshop can have stored tools built-in, thinking I could simply remove them.  But there are no files with the extension .tpl anywhere in [drive]: \Users\ [user] \AppData.  Clearly, Photoshop is hiding in a magical place.  Is it possible to manage the presets in this way?

  Problem solved.  I had put the .tpl files in the wrong directory.   After I moved into the correct directory...

  [drive]: \Users\ [Username] \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2015\Presets\Tools

  ... and restarted Photoshop, I now see X, Y and Z menu drop down preset tools.

  How to preset animation save?

  I think the best you could do would be to issue the command menu:

  app.executeCommand (app.findMenuCommandId ("Save Animation preset..."));

  but who will bring up the file save dialog box, which is probably not the automation you are looking for.

• Keyboard shortcut for an Export Preset Custom question

  Here's my question that I can't find an answer in the forum.

  I'm in grid mode, I use the painter to the gun to paint on the presets.  Now I have a single predefined custom export image I would like to use to export the images I added a custom wait - all by keyboard shortcut.

  Is it possible to use a keyboard shortcut to apply to a custom preset?

  I do not see that you can use the keyboard shortcut for 'export' previous and I see that I can right click and down to my presets, but I would like to be able to select my specific predefined export and apply a keyboard shortcut to this one in particular.   Is there a way?

  (When I try to use export with previous for some reason, it seems by default not preset I wish.)

  I use Lightroom 5; on a mac.

  I really like the features of Premiere Pro or Photoshop where you can shortcuts for custom game, can this feature please be brought to Lightroom?  Or maybe there is already and I'm missing?  Thanks for the help

  There is no provision to customize keyboard shortcuts in Lightroom.  The option "export with previous" refers to the previous export Setup, not the last develop used preset.

• A question on the preferences of the "presets".

  In the presets preferences there is a button for "default specific to a camera series don't" what does this and I should check it? Thanks in advance.

  If you have multiple cameras and have created unique to each default settings, this setting will allow the default values be linked specifically to a single camera. I do not use this option, but I use the right below, make the first ISO camera-specific default values. This allows me to create a "Preset" with an amount of specific noise reduction and it automatically applied according to the ISO setting.

• Question of CC2015 animation presets

  I have a bunch of expressions saved as preset animations. Normally I can do drag the animation preset to a layer, and THAT the expression would be added and the current value of the layer would not be altered. It's great because I have a bunch of expressions that I use for transition and transition effects.

  But now after CC2015 effects, when I drag these animations for the layer... it applies the term AND changes the current value of the layer to match that which was recorded at the screening stage was created.

  According to the Page of after effects help, a predefined animation is only meant to save the expression as long as there is no keyframes.

  So now I can use is no longer one of my preset animations because it will move my layer to a completely different position.

  I have more than 50 phrases that I use all the time and apply them via predefined animations saved my TONS of time because I didn't have to add them manually to different layers more. I could you select a bunch of layers and apply an animation preset to them all with a single click.

  Any suggestions?

  Where everyone was as frustrated by what I was, and I know that this exposes my ignorance but...

  1. in ExtendScript, F1 to open help.

  2. Select the product you are developing against in the help panel.

  3. Google what you want to do and, if you're lucky, you will find an object type or method name for try the search against

  (4 use the search help and I hope to whatever you hold dear that has you) corresponds to something useful and b) do not match too (both cases will cause absolutely no useful data)

  This will give you some (but very basic) syntax searchable guides... Buyer beware...

  Syntax guides do not, for example, distinguish (or provide details of) the difference between the IDS server or Office IDS and method signatures are different...

  Incomplete, awkward and a little difficult to use, but at least it is the documentation...

  Hey Noel,.

  You can edit the existing presets and replace its parameters by saving it with the same name of the preset.

  For example, you have created a "H.264" preset and you want to change it:

  -Select the "H.264" preset and click on 'other '.

  -Update default settings

  -Save format "H.264" and confirm to replace (if you choose another name preset it to create a new preset)

• Question on first Elements 8 custom presets

  I have the first Elements 8. When starting a new project and through the presets, none match that my camera is recording. Is there a way to create a custom preset? I tried to start a new project and going to "Edit > Preferences > general" but it won't let me edit fields. I found an old thread where someone had something, you could download to add more presets, but it was a bad link.

  The video, I'm wanting to change is 1280 x 720, 59.4 fps, mpeg. But the camera (gopro HD) also has other options resoloution/framerate. I also have a Nikon D3s DSLR, don't know if there is a "Preset" for this I have not got that far yet. It will open and allow me to edit in the other presets, but I want it is good.

  I hope someone can help out me!

  Well, it is my opinion, based on my experience of 7 years with this program and hosting this forum.

  I guess that's you if you want to take it or not.
