"Previous Conversion" ACR 8.1 bug?

I just noticed when using ACR 8.1, on the application of a 'previous conversion' which includes a manual lens vertical transformation, no vertical adjustment is made to the new file, but the horizontal transformation of the new file is made the negative of the portrait of the old file.  So, to be precise, if we did a vertical transformation of, say,-8 in the old file and then applied 'previous conversion' to a new file, vertical of the new file would remain at zero, but the horizontal would be + 8.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I use ACR 8.1 with a licensed copy of the CS6, not with a CC version.  I'm using MacOSX 10.8.4.

Everyone has noticed this or can someone try this to see if they find the same question?

If the horizontal or vertical transformation is applied when applying previous Conversion will depend on the orientation of the images in question.  Are the two images (previous and current) the same orientation?

Updated to FF26 earlier today. Earlier, I noticed that the Download Manager is different, it is rather the new version which is available for some time. I've been using the older Toolbox that was available in previous versions through everything: configuration and activation of the option of the Toolbox. Sean,

This can be complicated to address with simplicity (like language), but I'll take a shot at him.

RW: No. each rule as this specifies the child direct candidates only. You would have a separate line in your table in the Section [S2}, which indicates its respective candidates children (a which Section [S3].)] Similarly, Section [S3] would have its own line, etc.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Issue B)

Also, I don't get specified TEXT anywhere in the samples, I look. TEXT must be in my conversion table?

Am I right that I should add my lists to the right, if I want lists to be valid in the Sections?

RW: no, by nature, a text node is locked to his current position, as a child of its current parent. Everywhere where parents who will, the child text node needs to go also. So no choice in the matter. Of course, however, the general rule in your EDD must allow text as long as it is necessary to maintain the validity.

Another explanation, imagine how a text node is displayed... usually by wrapping text in a component of character Beach, where there is additional text before and/or after the inside of the paragraph. The conversion table normally does this skin based on the character formats, then text nodes are just there and fixed.

    Question C)

RW: The logic seems wrong to me. I don't know exactly what your EDD or source file looks like this, but I think more in the sense of something like:

    E:head [H1], p +, (p | ul | ol |) GRAPHIC | Table | Anchor) *, article [S2], article [S2] +.

    Otherwise, you might get more

, etc. after the sections. While we are on this issue, let me throw out some thoughts...

-You must decide if you try to apply strictly the structural rules here or simply to get the optimal structure applied. As a general rule, a rule of conversion table can be more lenient, so it may capture abnormalities that can be cleared up later using the validation of ESD. You come with additional consideration of another agreement, that an article must begin with a

I would usually use a simpler rule, such as:

    E:head [H1], (p | ul | ol |) GRAPHIC | Table | Anchor) *, Section [S2] *.

It is perhaps more lenient than the structure that you intend to apply in your documents. But it is much more likely to get your most feasible initial structure from the beginning. During the cleanup after conversion, it is easier to correct a little lost

elements only to the rearrange a bunch of hierarchies section, everything simply because you were looking for perfection in the first passage.

-Once again, although not knowing your EDD, this jumps at me... by putting GRAPHICS, table and anchor in a single rule, this means they must be brothers and sisters. However, from previous conversations, I'm suspicious that they are not. In other words, I suspect that the anchor can be one parent to the other two. If so, this rule should be anchor only and it should be separate rules to push the GRAPHICS elements and table under anchor, then this rule simply has to pull on the anchor and children.

  • An error occurred during conversion: the operation encountered a network error.

Nice day. We are currently trying to convert vm to ESX 3.5 to 5.5 using the media only converter ver 5.5. The conversion with 2% with the operation failure encountered a network error. I then submitted back to the job and selected only 1 drive 5, drive system, and successfully completed. How I will go about to get the 4 remaining disks converted to the already existing virtual machine?

    I don't understand.

Make another conversion to another virtual machine. Do so without reconfig because it will be without the system volume.

Then attach disks resulting for the virtual machine from the previous conversion.

  • Bridge CS6 Mac XMP file Info group bug: can not copy / paste metadata

The cmd keys / shortcuts does not work in btw xmp file info panel. in the xmp / iptc fields (e.g., cmd-c, cmd + v,...) of Adobe Bridge CS6 (Mac OS 10.6.8 and 10.7.3). You are not able to copy / paste information from one box to the other like the previous versions.

This bug appears in the Info window of the file (open via alt + i) xmp in Bridge CS6 - if you change the information or metadata in the file info panel in Photoshop CS6 copy and paste from one field to another works.

Shortcuts also work under Windows (tested on Vista).

More than a month ago, I noticed this minor bug already in version beta of Photoshop CS6. I hope that this has been corrected in the official test version, but unfortunately it isn't. Although it is a minor bug, it is in my humble OPINION, a basic function and it would be very useful in my daily work - it's a shame, such a little thing does work with the application a bit boring.

Well, you can always use the context menu to copy and paste.

  • Confused re: CS5 v elements, different versions of ACR, etc..

I'm sorry, but I'm just completely confused now.

I've been using CS4 with ACR 5.4 however I preferred Elements 6; I would like to do my editing RAW with ACR and nothing else, usually with Elements 6.  But, Yep, I got a new camera.  Yet Nikon but I discovered that I had to have 6 ACR.  So now I have 9 items and ACR 6 and I noticed many differences aka the problems that I didn't have before.  So I wonder if it's because I'm trying to use it with the elements and I'll have to come back to CS5?

    Here are my questions:

    1. even though I told it to open several files, a single NAVE will open in ACR at the same time.  If I open the image or close it, the following will open it.  Previously in ACR 5.4, I had a box of tiles on the left and could change something like 70 images at a time if I wanted to.  This adds a lot of time editing, of course, if I have to do one at a time.

    2. in ACR, when I am done editing and I click on Save Image, the only option that I can record as a DNG.  I had no idea what a DNG before today, it was.  Of course, that I am sure that they are useful for a lot of people, but I really need to save it as a JPG file, as previously, in version 5.4.  This also goes along with my first problem, before I would like to batch save all when I had finished.  I don't understand why I should need to yet another type of file.  I watched the DNG converter, but I do not see how to save DNG as jpg without opening them (and again, version 6 is only to let me do one file at a time).

I think that there are more, but I don't remember right now, if I do I will come back lol

    Thank you

This Camera Raw FAQ helps some compatibility to sort.  As you probably know, you can look in the Camera Raw Readme files to determine which device is based on which version.

When running under Photoshop Elements, Camera Raw reduced some of its characteristics.  Maybe it's the origin of the differences you see.  I don't have any personal experience with Camera Raw and Elements 9 together, but I can tell you that Camera Raw 6.x allow opening multiple files as thumbnails on the left side of the dialog box when it is run with CS5.  It also allows to save JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files in addition to the DNG format.

Maybe you should have upgraded to Photoshop CS5 instead of 9 items.

  • Manual installation of ACR 5.6?

Install the beta version of 5.6 yesterday and ran into a number of questions.  Tried to revert to a previous version (ACR 5.5) via a manual install and it seems to work correctly.  I would now try to reinstall 5.6, however, the Setup program will not let me do--, he thinks I still have installed 5.6.  Is it possible to go beyond this, or at least to do a manual install of 5.6?  Can someone provide a link to the 8bi files?  I own a 7 d and REALLY need that support.

I have a mac, but in another post, these instructions have been posted

Re: ACR 5.6 can be installed for LR or items in OS X

To do a manual installation under Windows, you can copy and rename the file:

    Your-unzip-location-for-ACR56RC1\extensions\AdobeCameraRaw5.0All-121109114152\Assets\1003

Which seems to be about the right size (11MB) for Camera RAW.8bi (32 bit).

  • How can I transfer levels pre-defined between (use the gray card) photos in Photoshop elements 14?

    Hello!

I bought a grey card to be able to define the precise (low temperature) white balance in my Photoshop elements 14 treatment (MS Win 10).

The first part of the task - the definition of the white balance by a TEST of the gray card shot is very good. However, I can't understand how transfer and apply levels of white balance so determined for the shots on TARGET only container not card gray.

I guess I need to save/load levels preset in Photoshop elements 14. Coul you please someone teach me how do?

    Kind regards

    Anton

You have the right version of ACR.

Presets are not known elements, only Lightroom and Photoshop, you must use other ways.

Opening several files at the same time: you can select multiple files in the organizer or the Explorer and open them at the same time, they will appear as a film strip vertical on the left side of the ACR dialog box. You can apply a setting in a single file or several or all of the listed files. You can also select all files (Ctrl A) and add all the settings to all files at the same time.

To apply the "previous conversion", click on the small icon to the right of the title bar 'basic' to unfold a menu drop-down.

  • PES 9 DNG workflow

I'm trying to understand the workflow of DNG (RAW) for PSE - 9 and have a lot of trouble, let me describe a simple scenario to explain:

PES - 9 is set to auto import

    1. Download NEF (Nikon raw) images to the folder
    2. Start the Organizer in PSE-9
    3. PES-9 automatic load the NAVE (all great so far)
    4. Select a group that needs to have made fundamental changes (lets) assumes that exposure
    5. Select Quick Fix
    6. PES-9 workspace Editor is loaded and selected Images are displayed in the screen Adobe RAW
    7. Bring changes (still all fine so far)
    8. Select ALL, and then tap Save. Note that the options are all set to default values (use the original name, save as dng, integrate the changes into xmp etc.)
    9. the changes are saved away. Now what PSE - 9A savings created dng file with the same name but with the extension dng (as it should)
    10. Select done in the RAW editor and the control is passed back to the Organizer.
    11. But now the auto import comes because it has detected new files and I now the double images of the Organizer, one as a NAVE and one as a DNG? Why? He knows not what it just did. Note that I could live with this problem I could just remove the NAVE with the Organizer, it is the following problem which is the worst.
    12. If I select all the files dng for a second edition and re - edit (repeat 4 to 8), I make my changes, but when I save files are not saved as original dng files but as new files with and additional "_1" appended to the name. That is to say the original '001.NEF' becomes '001.dng' on the first record. When I edit this dng and save it becomes '001_1.dng '.
    13. Auto import comes into play again and now I have a triple a lot of images! Aghhh!

So whenever I have it change a DNG file it auto imports as duplicate.  I tried to convert to DNG first, same thing. I haver I tried with and without the name of the original image. I downloaded the last converter and used this setting with and without game compatibility. I have nothing seems to allow me to have a single dng file that I can update.

I thought about trying to move to 14 but a retreat forced through redundancy means that I have no set income apart from a bit of photographic work which is just pay the Bills, so I can just afford to do if 14 is the same.

Any help appreciated chaps. My photographic work requires to change very fast and a flow of about 200 photos per job quite at night, so if I had three jobs so far here with 600 photos to sort through this workflow would just die. I am currently using Nikon View NX - i and NX - D, but they are terrible enough with frequent crashes and Miss repeatedly reading favorite tags and the selection filters I use vigorously so that they are almost unusable, so try to use my old PES-9

    Thank you all

    Steve V

    Steve,

    Suggestions:

-You don't need to keep the DNG and NEF: DNG is enough in your case.

-The DNGconverter can batch convert your news ships before you 'import' files in the Organizer. You can even leave the batch run while you work in the ACR for editing module. The first download on the computer can go to a temporary folder you can delete once a sufficient backup has been filed.

-You have no need create sets of version or batteries to keep original and edited DNG one side by side. The original DNG can be restored in the menu of the cab with the option to restore the default value of Camera Raw. No duplication. After your changes in Camera Raw, you click on 'Done', not 'Save' which creates duplicates. Of course, if you want to keep two separate outputs, then an option "Save" with a suffix would be appropriate.

I'm not sure that the automatic import is useful in general, but for these "variants", it would work very well. you could just stack versions if you want.

-You save time within a reasonable number of raw/DNG files from opening at the same time in the ACR module, either by using the "previous conversion" option. Select all and click on "Done" instead of "Save" are what you need.

-I don't know how you share your edited, but I recommend to use the 'Export' of your organizer. For example, it can export a large number of files in the correct format and size for print or web browsing; It's an another batch to do while you are away.

-The risk I see in your workflow is that with little time, you could neglect the backups? I would like to make regular full backups as night work. I would also use other software 'synchronization' for faster backup after every editing session; I would include the catalogues in this backup settings (I use Synctoy Windows).

    The workflow could be:

-Downloading the OS in a temporary folder

    -Run DNGconverter

-Edit DNG files in small batches, with especially the command 'Done' or 'save' one of the variants of output. Can be done while another batch of DNG conversion is running (if your material is strong enough...)

-Synchronize the result to another external drive (same for catalogs)

-Export the output to print, web... (batch). Export a jpeg version reduced to backup on a Cloud Computing service (dropbox or similar) can be another idea.

-periodical edition full to another external drive, in the case of an accident or other disaster.

    john_oc wrote:

    Thank you!

Simple and powerful: use the ACR (Camera raw).

Depending on the power and the amount of RAM on your computer, you can now open and edit multiple files at the same time in the ACR module.
Use the menu file/open in camera raw.

Select a batch of files (say 20 to begin by)

Select all the files in the camera roll on the left.

When they are highlighted, you will notice that the ACR module shows its AutoCorrect settings. Generally the brightness of your images will already be improved.

The changes you apply to the sliders will change all the images highlighted.

Take advantage of the opportunity to refine all the other sliders made highlights/shadows, clarity, vibrance, sharpening or noise reduction...

    Tip:

What you do in the ACR module do not alter the original jpeg pixels. Only the parameters are saved, which is called parametric edition. So after this editing session, when you save the changes ('Done' button), you are able to reopen the jpeg (it will open automatically in ACR, even from the Organizer). You will be able to start editing with either:

1 - the values of the original jpeg (turn all the sliders to zero, auto or custom in the right panel).

2 - the AutoCorrect default CAB
3 - your latest changes (settings file)
4 - the session settings of most recent edition (which is useful to apply to several image consecutively).

These settings are saved in the jpeg metadata section. No need to create a version set at this stage.

Important: even if you are happy with the automatic settings default to ACR, apply a little change of your choice so that the settings are saved in the metadata section when you click on 'Done '.

You have now edited your first batch. If you use the orgnizer, you might want to "update thumbnails', which show the improvement of brightness in thumbnails. You are ready to make the necessary changes to individual files, such as cropping or sharpening in ACR. Instead of clicking "Done", you can click on 'Open' to open the file in the Editor (you can change in 8 or 16-bit). You must go into the editor to apply other changes as layers, local adjustments. you use the editor to register in any other format file or print.

For the next batch, the mounting parameters are available in the dropdown to the right (previous conversion). Open files, highlight all, select previous conversion, click 'Done '. Wait for the settings to be saved in jpeg files.

In a situation where you have 100 files JPEG, the workflow that the above is by far the fastest and most flexible you can use. Imagine you have a white balance bad setting of your camera, you can imagine the time you need by editing individual files in the editor?
