I want to have a sample of each of my fonts look on paper. How do you do that?

  • HP Laserjet Pro M451dn: Problem on a computer with the printer fonts

    Hello

    We have three computers that seem to be running the same configuration.  The problem occurs with Microsoft Publisher as follows:

    -On both computers, when specific documents are called, they work fine and fine print

    -A computer, when particular documents are called, we get the error: "load fonts - information on the police below shows what fonts are embedded in your publication or are unavailable - Goudy/unknown/not available & Goudy ExraBold/unknown/not available."

    I checked all computers and confirmed that the same TTF are installed, even to copy fonts goudy from one computer to another to ensure that they are the same.

    When I go into one of the computers that work and look at the "commercial fonts" section in Microsoft Publisher, it tells me that:

    Police = Goudy

    font type = printer

    Police source = system

    Police = Goudy ExtraBold

    font type = printer

    police source = system

    I tried to install the latest drivers for the M451dn of Laserjet Pro, but the fonts are not yet available. I have no idea on how printer vs TTF fonts. If it were an FTT, I would simply copy, but I don't know how to fix this computer to access the printer fonts.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Jeff

    > fonts, I'm looking are listed as "Additional PS emulation fonts" for a different model printer.  When a non-PS driver is used, the driver can always access these fonts...

    I don't know for certain, but I guess these "Fonts additional PS emulation" can probably be used only if you are using a PostScript printer driver.

    If you use a printer PCL5 or PCL6 (PCL XL) driver, then these policies probably are not accessible.

    EDIT: I found an online source for one of these PS_12542.ttf (= Goudy) fonts, and it doesn't seem to be a valid TrueType font that (in theory) can probably be used by other pilots.

    But this policy has a "limited" license, which means that it cannot be incorporated in the documents:

    It is possible (probable?-I don't know) that support routines and standard printer drivers that you cannot use this policy as a "source" for temporary downloaded fonts "smoothly."

  • Loading of printer fonts

    I currently use a laserjet 1100 and laserjet 1300.   I load the fonts in my printer points 30 x 50.  If I but a new hp Laserjet Printer

    (for example, HP Laserjet Pro P1102W or of faxes and scans) I'll still be able to load the printer fonts?

    I'm assuming that 'I load fonts in my printer"implies that you download the PCL5 soft fonts on the device.

    If so, then new LaserJet printers that support PCL5 also should be able to use the same downloaded fonts.

    Avoid just "host-based" devices (which do not support PCL5).

  • Fonts 'Installed' (Segoe) shows only in Word as printer font, the "ordinary" of police not installing version do not at all

    Hello. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on a HP ProBook 4520 s. I have Office 2010 installed. I got (legally) the Segoe font for some work, I do and have tried several times to install it. Some of the faces fonts (versions?) install - oblique, "BOLD"-, but the "regular", not "there." I slipped the font files into the fonts folder, copied and pasted, and yet not all versions appear.

    My last test in case of the record that looked as if it contained Segoe, (as opposed to Segoe Black, for example) and then try to reinstall. After the removal of the police, when I dragged the files of fonts in the fonts folder, I got an error that the police already exists and I would like to replace it. I said yes. Now the file is not there at all (the icon with "Segoe", in the folder fonts - don't know if technically, this is called a file, but is what I'm talking about).
    In Word, Segoe appears as if she was "BOLD", even when it isn't and in the menu font, rather than having an O next to him (as the other variations of Segoe), there only a printer icon.

    Help!
    Thank you.

    Hello

    Try to install the font in the boot.
    To help solve the problems, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Change the default printer font

    OfficeJet 6500 has more my prints in very small print if I try to print a text document or web e-mail. Where I put this?

    Hey @qqwwer,

    Thanks for getting back to me on that.

    If Internet Explorer has worked well? Well you are right to say that this is not a printer problem. Printers just do what they tell you different programs and your Mozilla Firefox is certainly not say the printer only for what he needed.

    After some research, I found that there are many other people having the same problem as you. Many of these people indicated that, by adjusting the page margins in Firefox, the problem has been resolved. I will provide you with a support document which should guide you through editing your page and printing parameters for correct printing:

    Pay special attention to the ' change the layout: margins and header / footer ' section of the document.

    Let me know if that solves the problem of tiny print once and for all. Good luck!

In fact I put it for 4 days by sheet until I print it, but then when I print, everything was compressed into 1 A4 paper... As I can't do anything... I tried to print other documents from ms word, but also have the same problem.

    Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

    If I understand the question, then the problem MIGHT be that "Scale to fit" may be active and should be DISABLED on preview before printing.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Times New Roman fonts will print on HP Officejet Pro 8610

    My new HP Officejet Pro 8610 not print documents, spreadsheets or test pages to printer containing the font Times New Roman (of any size).  It does not have a job in the print queue.  In Excel, I get the error message "Generic_2_Q294552".

    My configuration: computer a HP Pavilion Elite NY809AV-ABA e9119t; running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1; HP Laserjet 5 L, HP 1310 PCS and HP D4360 all print do it very well.

    My new printer: HP Officejet Pro 8610, FDP1CN1502AR firmware revision, connected via a USB cable.  [Also connected via a cable to cable modem ethernet.]

    What I've done so far to help out the last 3 days: reinstalled printer (3 times), the most recent today with a published installer today. restarted the printer; restarted the computer after every significant change; updated the firmware in the printer; tried two different USB cables; tried to print fonts in Microsoft Word 7, Microsoft Excel 7 and directly from the font file; Reinstall the fonts Times New Roman of backup; visited the forums and tried all the solutions I have for any similar problem; tried the winprint, hpzppw71 and hpzpplhn print processors with RAW and NT EMF 1,008 formats data types; found and fixed all the problems I have found with all hardware and software, as well as to the latest updated version of the software.

    Finally, I seem to have problem solved for me.

    First of all, a few comments, just for the record:

    -in the affected user accounts, "Print Test Page" fails in the printer properties, but HP printer & Scanner doctor said that everything is okay, and printing test page without any problems

    -newly created user accouts working fine

    In the end, I recognized that my user accounts have a default TEMP variable: I redirect to the HARD drive to avoid piercing main SSD drive for temporary files. Setting permissions on this directory to the user everyone "Full control" (not only 'Edit'!) does the job: printer starts to print correctly. Phew!

    I hope that this helps you, Tom and others get this problem!

    How can I give the user the possibility to print with a different font or larger or possibly put the same for everyone?

    Thank you

    John

    Hi John,.

    You can add styles that are only used when printing (or print preview). In the frame header HTML on your page (or in the header section of the page template if you want on all pages), add something like:

    <style type="text/css" media="print">
    * {font-size:24px!important;}
    </style>

    This will set all the text to 24 px. Obviously, adjust according to your needs.

  • @font-face not working in FF, but work elsewhere.

    Hey, I tried to get @font-face works in Firefox, but it simply doesn't. I am hosting the police outside and the way I do work on other browsers. This is my code:

    < body bgcolor = "CA2E28" style = "margin-left: 0px;" margin-right: 0px; ">
    < style type = "text/css" media = "screen, print" >
    {@font-face}
    do-family: "Blackout".
    SRC: url (link woff is here, don't want to here however).
    }
    Body {do-family: 'Blackout'}
    < / style >

    THIS SHOULD BE THE BLACKOUT.

    < / body >

    Can you check to see if Firefox downloads the file? To do this, start by opening the Web Console in the lower part of the tab under your page using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + k
    • button '3-bar' menu > developer > Web Console
    • (menu bar) Tools > Web Developer > Web Console

    Click on the "Network" button/tab along the top of the console and reload the page. Here you can see Firefox asks the file and, if so, whether it is reclaimed.

    If extracted, and then click the Console and reload the page and watch the error messages that might relate to the police. Something strange?

    If the download of the police and there is no error message, use the tab of the Inspector to look at the body element and see if the style is there and is used to effect (i.e., none blocked).

    If all that is good, you may check your personal settings to make sure that you are not Web site font substitution. Either:

    • menu button '3 - bar' (or edition menu) > Preferences > content

    Click the Advanced button and make sure that you have checked "allow pages to choose their own fonts.

    If all this is good, so it's a mystery. Have you checked Firefox on other machines or other operating systems?

  • HP Laserjet 400 M401dn: M401dn Firmware - print issues

    Hello.

    We have 4 HP Laserjet M401dn printers 400 in school.  These have been delivered and installed in time last September.

    A problem highlighted recently when one of the teachers tried to print a simple Word document with a title in large font.  Whenever they printed the document, pages with the large font size came out white.

    We tried new documents and other things, but whenever we have changed the size of the police to more than 70pt, the page would come out blank.

    We then tested the same documents on other printers and it printed perfectly on 2 of the 3.

    The 3rd company of the party in charge of our network took a look at the problem and it's associated Firmware.

    PE / printer of geography are the two stamped Date of 20140521 Firmware.  Two of these printers cannot print fonts of size greater than 70pt.

    Staff room printer was Date stamped 20120907 Firmware and prints ok.

    ICT after the Date stamped printer Firmware of 20131214 and prints ok.

    Can you HP and other users of this particular model, please test?  If the results are the same, HP can please release a updated Firmware to fix the problem?

    If this isn't the case, please tell me where can I find previous versions of the firmware and the utility to restore the affected printers 2?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello.

    Thank you for the answers.

    Printer font size is usually the product of the application that you use to present the work to the printer.
