Print PDFS without fonts embedded (for the USPTO)

I need to print PDF files which can be downloaded in the PTO we, and so they are compatible, they must not have embedded fonts. I use the XI of Acrobat Distiller with the configuration file downloaded directly from the website of PTO http://www.uspto.gov/ebc/portal/efs/uspto.joboptions, but the fonts are always be included. Is it possible to get the PDF Distiller to not embed fonts?

The file, .joboptions your assignment pointing to very precisely the requests that all fonts are embedded, subset!

So if you use these joboptions to produce PDFS, you get exactly what the joboptions call for.

If somewhere on the US Patent and Trademark Office site Web tells you not to embed the fonts and then provides these joboptions, while they give contradictory information you!

However, the search of this Web site, I found instructions for the creation of PDFs as in EFS-Web PDF guidelines> and the PDF attachment from the Web site.

In fact, the US Patent and Trademark Office has absolutely need that embed you all fonts.

  • various error messages - cannot get old matrix printer that works with xp for the printer in windows 7

I have a new pc with windows 7 - I have an old panasonic kxp 3696 PARALLEL port printer that works fine with xp - I bought a decoder directional bi to convert the port PARALLEL to the usb port and is connected to my lenovo m81 - computer came with pre installed epson fx series 1 136 driver in the Inbox (this is the driver of windows 7 recommended by panasonic for this printer)-I managed to print a test page and something of Word-, I then downloaded our accounting software and added an hp printer - in the process, I removed the usb connection and later reinstalled anbother port - since then I could not print all documents or bills - I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer - I deleted and created ports - initially the docs crammed into a queue for printing - I then changed the setting to print online and print test page new - now I send documents to print and they do not appear in the print queue - it seems to be multiple of the printer on the computer copies when I reinstall - also get a message that is not network printer (the printer is connected by usb) and another message00? 0000? etc.

I suggest you to uninstall the printer drivers and then use the driver file that you want to install by using the procedure - below

    a. click Start, click Control Panel , and search for printers , and then double-click Printers.
    b. now, click Add Printer.
    c. Select Add a local printer and click create a new port.
    d. Select Local Port and click Next.
    e. type in "[\\computer name\printer name]"(sans les guillemets) for the Port name and click OK. ""
    f. follow the instructions to complete the installation. During the installation, when you are prompted to choose a good driver; Click the "disk".
    g. navigate to the driver file that you have on the computer, and then click OK. Now, check if the printer is correctly installed.

  • How do I create a small PDF file for the web with fonts embedded in the InDesign files?

How can I actually "convert" my files of 100 pages, produced magazines in InDesign (300 dpi, CMYK, prepress ready images) to PDF size reasonable to publish on the web. I tried "smaller" size of the file in Acrobat, but it does not incorporate the fonts and images are very unclear. I tried printing of high quality, but the file size is too large (100 + MB). Can someone point me in the right direction? My company said I need to get a PDF (below 38 MB) file to the webmaster to display. I asked the administrator of the site - he had no idea of converting to InDesign.  Thank you!

You can start the press or high-quality Print PDF you make when you run the optimizer, as both will be incorporated, fonts and images high resolution. You don't want to have courses for your magazine of font substitution.

If you have converted the images to CMYK before placing them, it matter which two presets you used for the base file, but if it's RGB, high quality print Prest will abandon them this way, which will also result in a smaller file. You can also convert the CMYK to RGB in Acrobat, if necessary. Do this before you re - sample.

  • What is the disadvantage of savings WITHOUT color profile for the web?

I have discussed this issue in another thread and a clear argument against saving jpg files * without * a color profile must be performed.

I'm very annoyed with how much more red and saturated, all my jpg files appear in IE (which does not read the sRGB embedded profile) compared to FF (which is the case).

I tried to save the image even with the inclusion of unchecked color profile, and of course, IE and FF are showing the same image.

It seems to me that including color profiles with jpg are just an invitation for different browsers interpret the image differently.

Why not just save them all, WITHOUT color profiles?

The downside to this, what exactly?

    mjyeager wrote:

Emil, please do not confuse what follows for stubbornness...

No worries, I never had such thoughts

    mjyeager wrote:

... IE does not read color profiles. The fact of FF. ERGO, in situations where a color profile is involved, the JPG will be different in each browser.

True, without color managed programs and management the colors may not display an image in the same way. Except in the situation where the color profile describing the color of the image or the color values of an image without a color profile, by an extraordinary chance match the display capabilities of color of the device used by the program managed without colors.

One of the problems that the addresses of color management is that all monitors will display the same color differently. Color management will make colors appear the same or as close as possible.

A color managed program will send the RGB values of the color of the video card corrected to compensate for the differences between how your monitor displays color values and how they are perceived.

For example, to help my Monitor wide gamut, when I create an image in Photoshop, with a red color pure R = 255, G = 0 and B = 0 and then do a screen capture, I can check how Photoshop sends these values to the video card. The result is R = 222, G = 65, B = 0 when I'm simulating an ideal sRGB display. So I can see how my colors appear on the screens of ideal sRGB. However, in reality, it is very likely to have a monitor displaying space sRGB color ideal without a color management, so to complete the color management chain, the other monitors that display my image must also have the appropriate color management to compensate for the differences in screen and display correctly RGB numbers representing the color that I see on my screen.

    mjyeager wrote:

... However, if the JPG has no color profile, image shows exactly the same way in both browsers...

Who will most likely be a bad smell, which means not repoducing the expected color which is always the case with the browsers managed without colors.

... Now, let's say this image - which looks the same in both browsers - is too hot. I can load it in Photoshop, change its hue and re-save is more what I'm looking for. The resulting image will then out - in the two browsers identically - the way I want to...

Yes, the image will be the same in both browsers on your and any other monitor but the colors that you create (edit) will examine the way which only see you them on your monitor.

    mjyeager wrote:

... Now, what I think you are trying to do, is that I have no control on what are the conditions of viewing on the OTHER end (i.e., visitors to the site). They could range wide monitors, cheaper monitors, running MAC or PC, etc...

I don't remember talking about this earlier, but yes, it's true.

    mjyeager wrote:

... It's true. I have no control over that. However, how including the color profile sRGB with the JPG would give me more control over these things I would not include? Unless you had to tell me that browsers arbitrarily apply a random color profile when in the absence of one, I am simply not understand how including the color with the JPG profile performs one another act that ensure that the picture is completely different in FF it does in Internet Explorer.

You who are absolutely wrong. Color management is not to have any control over how other devices are setup, calibrated, etc.. As I said earlier make sure you communicate the colors scheduled correctly or as close as possible, as long as you and the destination use the proper color management. This means that the embedded profile FF will display correctly the planned colors while IE will not. If you do not include a color profile with your image both FF and IE will not display correctly the planned colors but they will be equal in that.

    mjyeager wrote:

... I understand the need for color profiles to print. In fact, my printer insists on the details when it comes to color profiles.

But for the web? I'm still not understand where the downside is to omit the color profile. It's not like the browsers get CONFUSED when it is not included. Or that the colors will start randomly from refreshing one page to another.

I am really trying to understand what you are saying here, but still haven't.

In addition to what Marian said:

If you create the colors using an sRGB display ideal (given the color management on your system works properly, it can be simulated by color of Photoshop on your range management widescreen when you assign the profile sRGB color to the image) and then on any ideal sRGB display, it will look the same you see on your screen regardless if it's with or without embedded sRGB color profile. However, in reality, it is unlikely to have a monitor, sRGB, display of the ideal space of sRGB color without color management. Now what does this mean in practice? Assume that users interested in, using the IE managed without colors on a PC with the Windows default color management. In other words, color management programs are told by the system monitor displays the ideal sRGB space, which is very likely to be the truth. Then users with this configuration with sRGB monitors will not see a difference between IE and FF when viewing your image with or without sRGB profile, the colors are not very likely to be the same that you see on the screen, but with the difference that is more likely to be accepted depending on how close to the ideal color space sRGB these monitors are. If some of these users with this configuration have wide range monitors, then the image will always be the same with or without sRGB profile, but with a very unacceptable difference of how you see it on your space to sRGB sumulated - strongly supersaturated.

For users that have the color correctly managed systems, when the image is saved with a sRGB profile, it appears color managed programs such as FF the same or as close as possible to the way in which you can see on your monitor. Programs run without colors the case remains the same as that described above.

A little history on how standard sRGB was created. It is a standard, including more things, but above all defining an abstract color space. It was created sometime after that the market was already flooded with computer monitors, and the creation of ideal sRGB color space was based on an average PC monitor display capabilities over time. After that the manufacturers used this standard sRGB as a target to create monitors.

UN-color of programs run on PC have been created and tested using sRGB monitors so that they can't be considered reliable for showing intended to display colors if the images they use have been created using an sRGB they will be in the stadium of this range of sRGB.

  • FONT SIZE: for the last 8 days the font size will increase from 100% to 75%.

For the last 8 days the font size will increase from 100% to 75%. This happens automatically. I am not able to change the font size to 100% the normal way. On the desktop, I right click and try to enlarge the icons without result. In Explorer I go down to the bottom right to change the zoom level and try to change the font, nothing helps. The only way I can do it is through the system restore. Can anyone help? Dogscout

    t-4-2

Changed the dpi that did not work. Police accounted for 70% this morning. I had to use the system again restore.

    Suggestions...
1 make a check of the file system.
Start button > Search box type cmd > look up, do a RIGHT click oncmd.exe > click onRun As Administrator > in this window cmd black and white, type at the prompt flashing sfc/scannow > press the ENTER key.
    Note : there is a space between 'sfc' and ' / '.
To sit and wait. It will take time.
When finished, exit the cmd window.
    Reboot (restart your computer)

    2. If the above does not solve the problem. Do a check disk.
Start button > Search box, type cmd > look up, right-click on cmd.exe > Run As Administrator > in the black and white window, at the command prompt flashes, type chkdsk/f/r > press the Enter key.
    Note : there is a space between 'chkdsk' and ' / '.
The screen will say something like cannot do it now, but you want to run it on reboot. Click on 'y' as in Yes > press > window cmd of output.
Restart your computer. Check disk starts after reboot. It will take a while. DO NOT stop the machine. Just wait.

  • Save the file as font size for the file name

I have a monitor resolution of 3840 x 2160 and for some time, using 150% dpi, but I loved how everything went wrong because of that and my second monitor is a 1920 x 1200, so everything went really wrong about that. so I changed the dpi at 100% and used the color editor and the appearance to change the size of the icons and the font size. but some policies do not always change. When I save a file, the file name is really small

and difficult to read. How can I change the size of the font for this without having to resort back to the ugly dpi of 150%.

some other small texts which seem not to be able to change the editor are like the taskbar menu, and launch the menu properties, msconfig and options in the menu to stop (from the task bar.)

    Hello

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Your user profile is a collection of settings that make the computer look and work the way you want. It contains your settings for wallpapers, screensavers, wallpapers, pointer preferences, settings of the sound and other features. User profiles ensure that your personal preferences are used whenever you log on to Windows.

You can create a new user account and check if that helps. If the problem does not occur in the new user account, you can transfer the files from the damaged to the new user account by using the article user account "difficulty a user profile is corrupted.

  • Can I change the font size for the mail application?

For the purposes of mail, I want to change the font size.  In other words, the size of everything on the screen when I'm watching and reading mail (do not as much care of the font size in the mail I made up).  Hereby, I refer to the list of the mails which is located on the left of the screen, where it lists who it is from and the subject and the right of the screen, where the content of the selected mail mail message appears as follows.  In fact, it might just be a type of "zoom" as well, not necessarily affecting the size of font in itself.  Want just everything what I see on the screen, reading, to be bigger. Have looked under 'settings' and 'help' and can't find anything about it in two places.

My mother is 90 and said: "it's so small, I can hardly read it.  Wow, thought new Windows 8 was supposed to be a new world, easy and user friendly; and yet, here, I am an "expert" was using the PC since the beginning of the Radio Shack, start Windows, etc... but have to post this question here.

Thanks if you can help with that!

Some of them depends on the capabilities of your display.  If she has enough pixels to do without causing interference, you can adjust the DPI (dots per inch) of scale and it will expand the size of the text and the items for you.

To see if you can do it, go to your charm to search and type 'scale '.  Choose the search result it shows and then try the configuration in larger size.

  • Acrobat SDK vs PDF Library SDK (especially for the AcroForms)

    Hi all

I would like to develop an application for reading and setting the value within the AcroForm and a setting AcroForm shaped. For this purpose, I would use some of the existing API methods. I have a few questions:

    1) what are the differences of the SDK Acrobat and PDF Library SDK kit? (see the Documentation of the SDK Acrobat DC)

Among others: kit SDK Acrobat and PDF Library SDK use the same PDF Library API? Just a different subset of it? What licensing and the pricing? Is my application above suggested a Library Application called "PDF"? What Acrobat Forms API - it is part of the extended for plug-in API but is not part of the PDF Library API?

    (2) what steps can I for the formatting and setting/read the value of an AcroForm?

Can I use the two SDKs for this? (it seems that Yes, see Adobe PDF Library SDK |) Adobe Developer Connection) what are the advantages/disadvantages? What API methods come from? (Acrobat Forms API?)

Thanks for all the info on these points

The PDFLibrary SDK is a subset of the Acrobat SDK kit that can be used without the need for Acrobat.  One of the things that is not present in the SDK of PDFLibrary is the API of Acrobat forms you mention.

  • Set the default font formatting for the "Add text" content editing tool (Adobe Acrobat Standard XI)

We have recently updated for Adobe Acrobat Standard XI.

Our users take system generated a PDF file and customize them by adding images and additional text. Generally, they always use specific fonts when adding their text formatting options.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to find a way to set the default value for font formatting options when you use content editing tool "add text". You're still stuck with the Minion Pro police to 12 points.

Therefore, whenever the user adds a new text, they must select the text they have just added and then change the font options in the pane of formatting content editing tools. It would be really useful to be able to define the police by default once the formatting options and added new text would use these settings.

    content-editing.PNG

    Hello

We've added the feature in Acrobat DC to pick up the nearest police to the neighbor during "Add text", as a user would add text that would be in the style of the existing content, and that the replication manually existing values is a tedious exercise. However, once the user changes the police or its size, Acrobat remembers the changes for the rest of the editing of the document session. That works for you?

You also asked for a default font and the setting of all of the documents and Acrobat sessions, user defined manually. Is this correct? If so, unfortunately, is not possible at present, but we can grasp this feedback and evaluate it for our future releases.

    Kind regards
