• I've lost the ability to change on my C7280 print quality settings in Mac OSX10.6

  For a reason unknown to me, I am more able to change the print quality settings when you try to print the pages in Safari and other applications.  "Print quality" does appear in the options drop-down list, but when I select it, the menu closes and the selected option is all that was selected before.  I reset my printer, but that has not solved the problem.  Any suggestions?

  Oh, that's strange.

  First of all, make sure that your Mac is updated.  Run software: over and over until that there is no more.

  Restart your Mac.

  Now let's fix the permissions:

  Finder > Applications > utilities > disk utility.

  Select your Macintosh HD on the left, then click on the button "Repair disk permissions" and let it go to work.

  You will not get the real digital settings, but if you load the two layers in the same document and change the blending mode of the layer that is greater than the difference, you can see the difference between the two images.  So:

• Cannot 'ok' layer Style settings

  First time using Photoshop Elements (version 10). I'm looking to create web buttons. I have two layers. One is a transparent background. The other is rounded rectangular to be used as a button box. Well, I added color. But when I try to add settings of layer style (bevel) to make it look like a button, the preview is fine but there is no buttons at the bottom of the window to save the style settings (OK). The window is pulled up so that there is plenty of room on my screen but the window ends just after "learn more on Style Layers.

  So, I can not save the style settings.

  Just be changed up to 1280 x 720 and it is fixed. I now have buttons. The screen is not quite as strong, but it's worth the trade-off.

• Problem with the print style sheet

  I'm trying to create my first "print style sheet" and have a problem trying to prevent the party from displaying page for printing. I tried to create a div for the sections of the form/page that I don't want to print, and all work fine except for the lower part which contains a Captcha box and the send/reset buttons. Attempt of placement of divs results to corrupt the page, so not sure what I'm doing wrong.

  I found that the problem is the insertion of the div tag in the table caused the conflict.

• I have trouble getting my default printer driver settings to stay as my default.

  Is it possible to lock the current drivers as default without having to select a preset every time?  Also I have problems when printing from Adobe software, it seems to use a radio button this conversion "uses JPEG2000 maximum available resolution.  It has made my life miserable with print time 45 minutes.  Is there a way to disable this feature?

  Yes it is. Used by OS X printing system is called CUPS and through its page web, you can set default values for the driver.

  First step is to open the Terminal (located in Applications > utilities). Then, copy the following line of text and paste it into the Terminal and then press enter

  cupsctl Web interface = yes

  This will display the web page of CUPS.

  Next step is to open Safari and enter the following information as URL

  http://127.0.0.1:631 / printers

  This will show the printers you have installed on the Mac. Select the one you want to change the default settings.

  With the printer display mode, you will see two menus - Maintenance and Administration. Click on the Administration menu, and then select set default Options. Depending on the driver used, you will now see a new view with some headers in text, such as installed Options, generals, banners, and policies. Click general. Then scroll all the way down and click the set default Options. You will now need to enter your Admin user account and password.   I'm gathering that you have problems with your HP Solution Center and seek advice before uninstall/reinstall.

  My advice would be... to do a uninstall and reinstall. This you will get the updated version and save you to address the problem that you are experiencing. If you need help to uninstall it and reinstall, let me know.

  Scanning to memory card has the parameters of resolution through the front because that is the only way for the device perform this type of analysis.  However, to change the resolution settings for the Scan of the computer, one will have to perform scans through the software installed on the PC.

  I have all three types of 8600 models where I am located (base, more high quality) and of all printers simply ask to start the analysis after selecting the scan type.

  I'm sorry you say crhfool, but there is no option between the 'Project' and 'Normal' on the 8600. The three main choices that you are 'Project', 'Normal' and 'Best '. They determine the density of 'points' by your inkjet printer, and the printer will always default to the setting chosen.

  Recently, I changed the IP address of the printer network for easier organization and I just realized than the 50 or more computers on the network cannot automatically update the IP address in the printer settings.

• "Like what" option in the style settings. Are there?

  In FrameMaker, after I created a few style of paragraph or character, I can manually reset some (not all) it's the values of "such what."

  For example, I created a style of paragraph drew Attention with the following parameters:

  -the color of the text is red

  -align the text in the Center

  -font is bold

  Very well. And later, I could reset the alignment of the 'Center' to ' as what ', without changing any another parameter of this style, such as the red color, weight "BOLD".

  As you can see in the screenshots above, in FrameMaker, it's easy.

  Now, I'm trying to find an option even in InDesign (CS6) - as I think, it would be very useful in the case when a style is based on another. Everyone succeeds in it?  :-)

  Some features of FrameMaker were ahead of their time.

  InDesign doesn't have the same parameters as is like FrameMaker does for the paragraph styles, although you may have like settings for character styles.

  This is as close as InDesign arrives at your request, and you probably already know:

  First create the style of paragraph Attention in red, bold and centered.
  Create then another style of paragraph based on the Attention, but that is not centered. I'll call her TIP.

  If you change the caution signs which are not shared by the paragraph of the ART style, two paragraph styles will change. For example, if you change your Attention to blue, TIP will change to blue. But if you change your Attention to align right, TIP will not change because this feature is not shared.

• Management of the print color settings

  I've never had no problem printing from Photoshop on my Macbook Air, until I think I've accidentally pressed some keys on my keyboard which was obviously shortcuts.

  Now, whenever I try to print - the first image attached appears, as it usually happens with normal printing pre box, where you can choose the paper size, layout, color etc etc.

  It is the normal print Photoshop dialog box. This must always come first. Access you the settings of the printer driver by clicking 'Print Settings '. It is also quite normal.

  Do not take into account the color settings dialog box, it is not relevant here.

  BTW, having the printer manage color is a somewhat safe setting, but you can usually get better results by letting Photoshop manage color and make the conversion to the desired printing profile. Then you will need to choose the right profile manually, and also make sure that the printer driver is set to the correct paper type. And the printer to support.

  In addition, the document profile is listed as "Display". This is the profile of Mac OS X will assign to the screenshots, but it is generally not a good idea to use the display as a document profile profile (both are different things and have different goals). Best to convert it to a standard such as sRGB profile if you intend to use the file to something else.
