Print - the choice between several Formats

Hello!
I need to give the customer the option to print a report in pdf format and a file xls via 2 buttons/links different. I have one button operation now that opens a PDF (.rtf created using BI Publisher) but I am trying to find a way to do the same thing for a xls file (no specific provision, customer needs to sort the columns). I can create a link to a xls file via the attributes of printing, but then my button tab to open a pdf file broken (I get an error message "missing expression").
TIA!
T

If I then me looking at this article... It shows how to let the user select their output in a drop-down list...

http://www.Oracle.com/technology/OBE/Apex/apex31nf/apex31rpt.htm#T2

Might be easier, then multiple buttons on a page, just a thought...

Thank you

  • Problem of image quality when you print the brochure in PDF format

    Hello!

I searched the whole web, trying to find a solution for my problem, but I couldn't find anything...

I created a vertical page A5 document in InDesign CS6, filled with high quality photos. Now, I want to print in a brochure (in PDF format) in order to save it and print it in a professional facility.

The problem is when I do this, the image quality turns out to be terrible...

I checked my print settings and I can not find something wrong...

Installation - A4 horizontally, and Graphics - Images - send data - is set to all.

Is there anything else I can / try? What can I do it wrong?

Here is a picture of my print settings:

    printsettings_ind.png

When I export the document normally in format PDF the image quality is fine, but it doesn't have the booklet layout I need, it exports all single A5 pages one after the other. If I try to print this pdf file as a booklet in Adobe Reader, the same thing happens to the images, they lose quality.

    Help, please!

    Thanks :))

Have you checked withthei 'professional establishment' as to what they want. Printers will not, in general, impose you the document. It's their job and they do it in a way that corresponds to the study and the equipment they use for printing.

That said, your problem with low quality images is probably the default PDF settings. Change them to something useful in Pringter in the Windows properties, or click the settings button in the print dialog box to access the driver from there and set them as you want. I'm sure that when the default installed PDF printer is 'standard' gives you the output of RGB 72 ppi.

  • The choice between 3 sound cards.

I use system of integrated sound of my computer (chip Realtek 888) for about 4 years, but have always wanted to have the best sound quality.  Based on the comments I've read on this forum, I narrowed the choice up to three cards.  It was not mentioned on this forum, but it has big plug and generally good reviews.  The three cards are listed below, with their advantages and disadvantages, as I see them.  What would be your advice.

My main uses for the card will be digitizing vinyl records, vinyl record, band 1/4 ", CD and tuner for now, voice recording (will have to pre - amp mike and mike, but will post on this in the future), will be expanded to live music, recording in the future to short/medium.  I wish only in stereo, not 5.1, 7.1 etc..  While I would like entered S/PDIF, the ASUS card is overwhelmingly the best choice for other reasons, I can't live without S/PDIF inputs.

Please keep in mind that I have VERY good hearing and it is very well trained.  Really, I have the audiometery test results to prove it.

    1 E-MU 0404 PCIe

PROS: good to excellent care, have seen E-MU, spoken regarding this forum, is the PCIe and PCI not (even if I have some free PCI slots open) bus, has S/PDIF out AND in, threw connect IO I use comes with drivers ASIO2, a MIDI i/o (that I don't use), the price is the lowest of the three councils.

CONS: Only one year warranty, no Windows 7 drivers (E - MU said to use the Vista drivers and I use Win 7-64, but they are "followed the narrow issue" and will let us know when a version is released), employs a suite of cable which has 1/4 "TRS jacks-necessating a TRS to RCA for my equipment, some critics say that the cable breaks on its own after a while.

    2 M-Audio Audiophile 192

PROS: good to excellent care, drivers have support 64-bit for Windows, has ASIO drivers, have seen about M-Audio in this respect on this forum, has software routing entries and exits, he seems a chip of the op-amp can be changed (but not mentioned in the literature of M-Audio), a S/PDIF in AND out, price decent.

CONS: All drivers are old-11/14/2009, extension cable is said by some to have occasional problems, extension cable a 1/4 "TRS jacks-necessating a TRS to RCA for my equipment, e/s TRS jacks are spec'ed as balanced, but M-Audio was told they will detect automatically asymmetric and operate accordingly.

    3 asus Xonar STX

ADVANTAGES: best record of the peloton, most recent 64-bit Win 7 drivers of capacitors Nichicon Fine gold bouquet-2/14/2011, (from "Big Whoop", however they are what I used when I rebuilt the right of my McIntosh MC 2205 amp channel), three-year warranty, (only) taken RCA output, has supposedly EMI shielding on the critical parts to protect the analog signal (but shield is open on one side?) DAC Burr-Brown 1792 A, extensible op amplifiers.

CONS: uses a TRS stereo to dual RCA cable for inputs, only S/PDIF output, the higher price of the Pack, some say because it is made by ASUS, it is not a professional quality card, I've never seen mentioned on this forum.

    Dogs is good wrote:

.. .supposedly has EMI shielding on the critical parts to protect the analog signal (but shield is open on one side?)

Of course it does - it wouldn't have a shield in the opposite case, it would be a conductor. And this isn't at all the same thing. Join the screening at both ends for the points on the ground usually makes things worse, not better. To work properly, a shield of screening has only to be connected to one place.

And no, ASUS are not cards pro audio. Personally, I would choose the E-MU, and I wouldn't worry about the extension cables too. all you have to do is ensure that when it is connected, they don't move a lot and they are certainly going to be fine.

  • Sharing the drive between several virtual machines

    Hi all

We have a configuration with a SAN (Dell Compellent) and use vSphere 6 to host a number of Windows servers. We now have a giant machine of Windows with a large number of small files for a particular application.

Now, we would like to create a cluster with a LoadBalancer in front of him, so that we can handle more load. To do this, we want to create a disk that is shared between 2 (or more) of windows machines.

One of the problems is that NTFS is not a supported clustered file system. So, I did a lot of research on Google to see what my options are. In my opinion, they are the following:

    1. set up a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) Microsoft (use SMB if I read the documentation)

    2. the user Windows shares on a separate file server

    3. the user NFS (depreacted under Windows)

    4. switch to Linux and use NFS

The problem I have, is that they use all the network traffic. For example, option 2 is ridiculous slow. NFS under Linux is also a way slower than the local drive (managed by VMWare iSCSI) disk access and NFS on windows does not appear to be

    support very well.

I know that there are aware filesystems, clustered as VMFS etc. Is there a way to access it directly from my Windows VM or are there devices SAN which is directly accessible from the virtual Windows machine?

Or maybe there are other solutions to set up a shared drive?

I know that there are aware filesystems, clustered as VMFS etc. Is there a way to access it directly from my Windows VM or are there devices SAN which is directly accessible from the virtual Windows machine?

VMFS is a really clustered file system and allow access of multiple virtual machine the same amount of storage (data store) which is different from that to create a virtual disk (hard) and present to multiple virtual machines. You can do this, BUT the guest virtual machine should take care of several accesses to the hard, for Windows, you must turn on the feature... without this clustering with failover data may be corrupted.

I think the best and supported solution for you is to create another cluster with Failover Cluster functionality and create a resource sharing files with files that will access your NLB nodes.

  • Print the brochure in pdf format?

I am trying to export a .pdf file, where the pages are in the print order, do not look at an order (that is, where they are already imposed).

The print booklet in InDesign feature (file > print booklet) works fine for reorder pages and then print, but I'm trying to reorganize pages and save them as a .pdf file.

Another discussion, I've seen on this topic, recommended using the booklet printing and selecting "print to PDF" in its list of printers, but for me, this option does not appear.

I don't know that it's very easy to do, as InDesign has 1) the ability to export to .pdf and 2) the ability to rearrange the pages for printing, but somehow I just don't see how to do this.

    What I have:

    -InDesign CS5

    -Photoshop CS4

    -Windows 7

    Thanks for any help.

The virtual AdobePDF printer is installed as part of the process of installing a COMPLETE of Acrobat version. If you do not have Acrobat, it's why you do not. You could print to file, and then use one of the freeware PDF converters, maybe, but I don't know what the outcome would be. As you work with a file flat, it will probably work OK.

  • Move the cursor between several fields

Hello, I have a screen like this:

Just don't worry about the incorrect page layout: I would like to know, how I can move foccus properly among the buttons? Behavior when I press on the left and the right is not desired. I leaned on some related posts and I saw that I have to override the moveFocus method, but I just wanted to know if there is any easier way to do it.

    Thanks in advance.

Which, in my opinion, you are trying to reach is:

For each icon, you have a path "predefined" If the user clicks on the left, right, top or bottom.

For example. Eventos can noficacinnes or search and nothing else (up and down do nothing).

In my view, the question you have is fairly simple to solve. If I'm not good I think the order in which the icons are to focus on are in the same order of them being added to the Manager. If that's true I think you should create a WSF (final state machine) which determines the users entry and moves the focus of the icons. The States are defined as icons and "transition conditions" represent the ability to move the focus to another State.

My algorithm for this problem is:

(I.) each event on the optical pad or the trackpad, determine the direction.

II.) determine what icon is the focus in your manager

III.) equivalencies with your FSM to determine if the "transient" condition holds for another icon (new State)

IV.) if the direction is invalid the current icon stay in focus, or if it is...

Change the State of the FSM to the icon that direction and tell your manager (or screen... can't remember for sure) to move the focus to this icon.

PS The icon can be a button or field label or text field.

Sorry, it's a long read, but I think that's going to help you with the situation that I think that your in. If not this is not the desired movement update or I'm just a little or have questions about the FSM, message me

  • How to reduce the choice list Format when saving a Photo?

Is it possible to reduce the choices listed for "Format" when you save a photo?  I use CS6 and that you have not used most of the choices listed through for many years using Photoshop.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

With the field highlighted file type (press Tab to highlight), type the first letter of the file format to use.

I wil give you straight away, TIFF, jpg, you may need to press two times T.

In this way, you don't have to see the long list.

I don't ' think that there is a way to delete file types from the list.

  • How can I use 2530 b and 4065 to measure the resistance between two selected pins?

I want to be able to select 2 corners on a test with 2530 b set-up and measure the resistance between them with a 4065 DMM (PXI all). Ankles in question are each in blocks of 32 different poles, so I can match them in a double configuration 32 x 1 four or 64 x 1 if necessary. I can measure the resistance between several different pine sets as 0 on 33 pine pine, pin 0 at pin 34 pin 0 to 35 pin and pin 1 to 34 pin, pin 1 pin 36, etc.

I understand how to measure resistance between a given pin and Earth using the the 2530 4065/b using the wizard OR-DMM/Switch Express, but it is unclear if I can measure the resistance between the two pins of selected by different user. I am a newbie of labview, used to write things in c#, so it may be something very trivial (I hope).

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    -Russ

    Hey Russ,.

I recommend starting with the following example (located in the Finder the example ('Help' to find examples):)
    "" Material input and output"Modular Instruments ' OR-Switch" niSwitch Dmm Switch Handshaking.vi

Because you use a scan list, you can simply drag the two connections to the same entry and then the switch will wait for the two to settle before you send a trigger of the DMM... problem solved.  For example, to connect the CH1 to Com0 (DMM +) and CH93 to Com4 (DMM), then take a measure, then connect CH38 and CH120 to the DMM, you would use the entry list of scan to the following address:

    CH1-> com0 & ch93-> com4; CH38-> com0 & ch120-> com4;

Note You can have as an entry in list of switch module scan.  In addition, you can only have a single advanced analysis and a measure full per switch module.

  • Annotator gradient between several objects - strangeness

I have six rectangles in a row. I apply a radial gradient to them as a whole, by dragging the gradient tool. According to the documentation for CS4, it's what you do if you want only one Annotator gradient between several objects. Problem is, I can see the Annotator, but not the color stops. If I deselect everything, then select a single rectangle, I can see and move the stops, but it effects only the shape selected. In addition, if I group the objects, the Annotator does not at all appear, and when I have the separate, I have six Annotators.

None of these examples will behave as I think they should. Yes, I have "Show gradient Annotator" on in the view menu. I worked with the Annotator fairly, but it always seemed buggy.

What I want to do is to apply the gradient between several objects, as in example 1, then change it between several objects. Is it so difficult?

But the object > make a compound path works with only one problem: after the compound path is done, you can select no longer forms individually.

With the selection tool, the black arrow double click anywhere with any object in the compound path that will bring, you mode of insulation with the direct Selection tool select the object in the compound path and modify to your hearts desire. Double-click anywhere outside the compound path and you will return to the normal mode and you have a compound path that you probably stick in any case.

However even if there are four paths of rectangle stand alone separated, you should be able to simply drag the four objects of the Annotator and still be able to see degraded markers if you position the cursor on one of the four annotators which should appear and see the markers.

  • Printing problem with OE - 6 format since the upgrade to IE - 8: no space between the body and the subject line text.

My computer is configured with XP SP3 and IE - 8. I've been using Outlook Express 6.0 (update of MS according to needs). Messages are always printed correctly. Lately, however, the body of the message printed directly below the object without line - the space between them. This happens on my Brother laser printer and my HP inkjet printer. I have not changed my settings of the printer. I've recently updated to IE - 7 to IE - 8; However, I see nothing in the settings of IE - 8 to explain this change in print. I recently installed "MobileMe" Panel Apple configuration, which has installed a separate set of folders in the list of folders in OE - 6. I did a clean (with Revo Uninstaller) uninstalling the MobileMe Control Panel, removed the extra e-mail account/folders and rebooted. Yet the printing problem.

How to restore the space of line between the subject and the message body?

    Hello

    1. How is like print preview?
    2. don't you make changes to the footer settings?

    Method 1.
If that doesn't help you can not save the file wmp.dll
    a. log on as an administrator.
    b. Click Start, type cmd.exe in the Run dialog box right click on cmd.exe, click Run as administrator and then click on continue.
    c. at the command prompt, type regsvr32 oled32.dll and press enter and then click OK.

    Method 2.
If this problem started occurring recently, you can restore the computer to a previous state. You lose Internet Explorer 8 and return to Internet Explorer 7. In this way, we can check whether or not the root cause of the problem is installation of Internet Explorer 8.

  • "print" command in Mathscript recording is not the plots in BMP format!

    Hi guys,.

I am creating a vi that automatically generates a pdf for my project report. I found a way to record the report directly in pdf format (in other words, I have 'print' my report to a (PDFCreator) Virtual PDF printer that saves the file in a specific folder with the date/time under his name.) "So, this was the first step to make the automatic procedure).

I'm stuck in the next step, which is adding to the report no graphics bad appearance of labview, but the plots of the victims of the Mathscript.

Yes, after you have added as input 'a' my data to the mathscript node, I use the following commands:

    Figure

    Plot (a)

    print the image

Now, what is this sequence is to do a beautiful land of my data and then save it as "image.eps" in the default folder.

However, the eps format is not at all useful to me because I can't import the plot with the 'Add Image to Report.vi '. This vi supports the formats BMP, GIF, WMF, EMF and JPG only.

So, I want to save as BMP mathscript plot. It's supposed to be possible, but I have not been able to find a way. Using the command 'Print' for Labview Mathscript 2011 reads as follows:

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/373123B-01/lvtextmath/msfunc_print/

    Syntax

    print

    Print (a)

    Print (file)

    printing (, file)

    Description

Print the trace window, or save it in a file in BMP or EPS format. If the trace to save window is a plot of the image or a 3D terrain, the file must be in BMP format. Other types of plots, formats BMP and EPS are supported.

There is no way for me to choose what format I want, and it automatically selects the eps. If I use the command

    print image.bmp

It gives me an error. So adding the endpoint .bmp is not the way to go.

Overall, it is essential for me to export the plot in BMP format (in order to import it into the generation of report), but I can't find a way, althouth it is supposed to work.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    PS. I run Labview 2011 SP1

    Hello

You must use the following command

    Print ('test.bmp')
