Print to pdf creates a .ps instead of .pdf file

I have several desktops running Acrobat 9.0 Standard on Windows operating systems. We need regularly to "print to PDF" using the Adobe PDF printer from various applications, including Acrobat 9.0 himself.

On a computer, the output file that is created by the Adobe PDF printer is in .ps format. By default, this is usually .pdf and is what it takes. Create a .ps file requires several additional conversion steps to make a .pdf file so it is not efficient.

How to change PDF when we use this "Adobe PDF Printer" function?

Thanks for your help in advance.

  • HP 8610: problem printing of PDF files with iMac

I have a HP 8610 all-in-One powered by an iMac.

I have a problem with printing of PDF files.

When I print, the page moves approximately 1.5 inches down and doesnot print page as seen on the screen.

I checked with Apple and you s not a problem with the computer.  They say that there must be a parameter that must be corrected with the printer.

If you encounter the problem with PDF files and only on the Mac, the best solution may be to download and run a different PDF Viewer that allows you to open the file and print instead. Adobe, Foxit, and Nitro are a few free PDF viewers with Mac support.

Please let me know if you are able to print your PDF documents using one of these programs instead, or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great day!

  • Is there anyway to make Acrobat DC Pro (Win) pop up a warning dialog box before you print a PDF file?

We have several very large PDFs on our web site that some want to have access to print. We don't mind them print the PDF files, but want to warn with a dialog box pop up that PDF files are hundreds of pages.  Is this possible with Acrobat Pro DC?

    Thank you

    Dave

    Hello

It's absolutely to do a custom pop dialog that warn you when there is a big pdf for printing.

However you will need JavaScript to create a code to perform this function.

You can see the following link for the same.

  • ?  Print a PDF file to Adobe PDF messes up everything

Here are three questions that can be related to each other.  I wanted to ask them for a long time but kept in the hope that they would somehow be solved.  Any advice would be appreciated.

1 when I print a PDF file in Adobe PDF format as an image, the color black (even fonts) becomes grey and blurry.  The choice to print as image made in the press (in PDF) - Advanced Configuration of printing - Custom Settings / print as Image (600 dpi resolution, which is the highest available choice).  Regardless of what settings I choose in the press - properties (Standard, high quality printing, etc.).

    2. run OCR on occasion done something similar.  Letters become fuzzy and gray.  Everything is more difficult to read after OCR. It's as if Adobe chose to substitute the font or color to something blur.  It's strange.

    3. sometimes OCR makes it worse.  The quality deteriorates.  In this case, I wonder if the quality should really improve rather than stay as it is.  If a letter is recognized despite the fact that his image isn't perfect, shouldn't it be supplanted in the document by a perfectly solid letter without defects by using one of the common Adobe fonts?  A real police should be used instead of an image of the letter which has been recognized in the OCR?

Are my settings wrong, or I'm doing something wrong?  I use Adobe Acrobat X Pro.

    Thanks in advance.

Then, you have not used ClearScan and searchable Image. Indexable image makes the OCR text behind the image so that the two are related in a way. When you print, what is shown is usually what you would get (just a picture). It is unclear why you want to reprint the PDF document in this case--essentially a noone scenario never envisaged.

  • Print a PDF file so that the comments appear

I used Actobat 9 Pro to create a portfolio containing PDF files, which I put in place to allow comments. Then I used Acrobat Reader 9 to open multiple PDF files and created comments. I sent the portfolio to my co-worker who also made comments.

We can see the two sets of comments in PDF files, identified with user names - which is great.

However, if I print the PDF files, the comments do not appear. They are visible online? is it possible to print, with their context in the PDF?

    Kind regards

    Sue.

Dialog box print received in file > print in Adobe Reader (9) provides for the selection of "Document and annotations.

Like your screenshot shows the properties of the drive Adobe does not provide for user configuration of display it comments, annotations and partner of pop ups.

You must have Acrobat Pro (.. maybe Standard also) for this feature.

  • HP ENVY 4500 does not print a PDF file

I have Win7 HP laptop HP ENVY 4500 all-in-One printer wireless and iMac OS X 10.9.1 desktop. It prints all good document file formats, except a PDF file. When I try to print a page of a PDF doc't, via Adobe Reader (11.0.07), it prints 6 equidistant tiny portions of the original PDF page on a single sheet. All six parties are in the same area of the upper quadrant of the original PDF page. I tried many portrait, landscape and size configurations, but in vain. It will not print PDF of my iMac and PC browsers files. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and its driver a couple of times. It installs OK without error messages, but it will not print PDF. Also, I don't get any error messages when I try to print a PDF file. I don't see any documentation supplied with the printer printer to say that this HP all-in-one cannot print PDF doc'ts, and it seems to me that it would print a PDF file until several weeks ago. Please notify.

I was finally able to print PDF files. But it's been so long ago because it was fixed that I don't even remember what was the solution. But four possibilities come to mind: (1) is of course the "print as image file" option has been activated; (2) re-installed printer driver; (3) re-installed Acrobat Reader and ensured that browser and extensions of processing of s/w, if any, have been correctly selected for my printer. (4) corrected a wrong paper, the type, quality, or size option layout which may have resulted in a page layout or a different format from what should be the 'standard' to a PDF file. Sorry I can't be more specific than that. But if I have to determine exactly what I could do to get PDF printing to work properly, I will go straight to you. BTW, I certainly don't rely on an intermediate file conversion service or s/w to transfer my PDF files to a printable format. I hope this helps.

Recently, when trying to print a pdf file (from XP Home Edition w/Service Pack 3 installed and Adobe Reader v 9) I manages to get a print file and the printer spooler. Rather, I am redirected to a dialog box to store this file in a folder/catalog of my choice. The XP machine prints from other types of files (doc, xls, etc) without any problems.

  • Blue screen error when you try to print Adobe PDF files

Original title: the computer crashes when I try to print Adobe PDF files.

I unintalled and reinstalled remains 9.3.3 and it still won't print. The OS crashes when you try to print a .pdf file. I can open the document and view the file but not print, just the blue screen and restarts. I opened a word document, print and print text files. It will print anything but Adobe files. Is there any help out there?

    HonoriusIII

Thank you for your support and help Sicard. I finally got to the last version of Adobe as the culprit. It seems that the latest version 9.3.3 was causing problems. I uninstalled the software, cleaned the registry and other remains and installed the various editions of Adobe. Seems that Vista likes only one software version which proved Adobe 8.0. Once I installed the software, found a few .pdf documents and tried to print. Not only did it print well, it was very fast. Of all the places to find the 8.0 Adobe has been installed on my recovery disks. I don't think Microsoft product (s) are the root cause. Something in Adobe was the cause of the crash. I have the error message has not write against accidents, but it dumped memory and restart is fine, no conflict of driver. Only thing I did after each accident was to defragment. the hard drive and RAM by using certain tools. Vista ran fine since. I know a lot of people out there do not like Vista, but I did have a lot of problems with the software. I found problems with other types of competing software and work with software developers using their products in beta. The crash of the problems were not these beta products. I believe in keeping software simple and effective, it seems that Adobe will conversely making it too complicated software and an application's entire concept.

    Thanks for you help,

    HonoriusIII

    Hey @MtVernon1910,

I have to recommend at this stage that contact you support backup of lizard for further assistance if you have purchased the full version of the Lizard Safeguard software.

    LockLizard - Support

However, if you use the free to Lizard Safeguard PDF Viewer you are not eligible for the support of Lizard Safeguard and need to contact the site where you download the abandoned coat pattern to go would either have them allow you to download and view a PDF through Adobe unsecured. Or try a different file such as JPEG or TIFF type to print.

If the Properties window does not appear in the Lizard Safeguard software and you need to change the printing preferences, you can:

    1. Click on the start menu
    2. Select "devices and printers".
    3. Right click on your printer C309a and left click on 'Print Options' to change your settings.
    4. Once your settings, open your PDF in lizard backup and when you print it to remember the parameters that you set under printing options. Once the print job is completed, return to the devices and printers, and open your new product printing preferences to restore everything to the way it was before you print the PDF file.

If the problem is that the print dialog box does not open for you, try hitting Ctrl + P your keyboard at the same time and should prompt the print dialog window to open.

    Good luck!
