Printer Dell unable to print in Vista

For several weeks I was not able to print on my Dell printer.  It is connected to the printer laptop USB port.  When I'm in another place (1 500 miles) where I have a HP printer I print correctly.  My wife's cell phone using the same printer cable in the same port, print on the Dell printer.  The only difference is that I use Vista and it has another version of Windows.  I have re-load drivers software, etc., and this did not help.

I recommend contacting Dell support technical http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs and http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dellcare/contact_technical_support?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs& ~ ck = anavml and ask them to guide you through the installation process and Setup (creating a new printer in the process).  Even if out of warranty, they offer the option of cat that is almost as good.   They should be able to solve your problems.  We do not know the proper settings or the required items (drivers, firmware, software,...) or the order of things must happen (sometimes in the wrong order or have the printer when it should be turned off or vice versa can make the difference in if or not it will install and work properly).

I hope this helps.

Good luck!
