printer J 4680 Windows 7

I'm wireless in my house.  Which could cause the scanner does not scan.  I get this message "required software component not found or improperly installed the HP photosmart software.  Because I can't find the cd, I went online and downloaded the software.  Dones printer everything but scan.

Hello @kathyny , welcome to the forums

I understand that you see an error message when you try to scan from your Officejet J4680 to your Windows 7 system. By the sounds of the message, there could be a discrepancy in the installation.

I would say first of all that is running the print and Scan Doctor to see if the tool will fix the scanning.

If the scanner still does not work, try uninstalling the printer software, restart your computer completely, then download and install the driver of printer here: HP Officejet full feature and driver software

Then try to scan and let me know the results!

Good luck and have a nice day

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: 6830 windows 8 8.1 cannot print from the windows test page

When it is connected to 'own' windows - it prints OK.

When it is connected to the windows where are the normal software like office, autocad, adobe and so those installed, the printer does not print anything - test page from printer properties is the first problem that means...

Only "free software priter" is able to print something (test pages and so one) also print doctor and installation wizzard prints what it can, but not possible 'to normal windows print"... :-(

    It is tested on:

Software for laptop - Win 8 Pro - installed - no. PRINT

    Surface 3 Pro - Win 8.1 - software installed - no. PRINT

Laptop - 8.1 Pro - clean shop - PRINTING POSSIBLE Win (after installation of the driver full download - in a test with autopilot installed it does not print)

Virtual - Win 7 Ultimate - installed software - PRINTING POSSIBLE

(installed software means office, autocad, adobe,...)

It seems that some components of system installed with one software disables printing from windows.

When looked at open before printing to the printer - it shows the print job (which is not printed) for 0.1 second and nothing is displayed - also when the printer is paused - it shows the work and it is deleted immediately - left must work until the printer not suspended...

It is not a firewall issue (tested), it has been tested on: USB, WiFi, LAN. No way to print something from windows 8 and upwards.

seems that it has something with the option run the program as administrator.

tested on some programs - autocad, adobe, word excel,... - when run as administrator it prints OK.

If you do not have the option in the context menu try to hold Shift before made a - right click and run as admin

It's odd - some print settings are transferred with work, for example, winword impression (office) without admin - PDF Factory (virtual printer) - rights and then to the physical printer 6830 - he can't be printed to PDF Factory

But if you start winword as an administrator - so you can print directly or through PDF Factory hassle

    ---------------------------------------------------------

Personally, I see this as a big mistake by Microsoft - that something like this can happen - simple direct printing is not possible after you have connected the printer... :-(:-(:-(

  • printer door/door open, cannot print / photosmart D110 Windows 7

I have a photosmart D110a all in one series printer... Won't let me print the hp window informs you that the lid is open... Not the case... Door open/closed several times, turned the computer off & several times, actually a restart the computer & printer w / no chance... Any suggestions...

My other printer D110a won't let me print itiems print selected... That is to say; part of emails, etc... It any suggestions?

Hoping that my questions can be answered... Very frustrating... Thank you...

I found where the sensor is on the D110 Photosmart which tells the printer when opening the ink access door.  Open the door at the front of the printer and on the left side by the little words 'Wireless', you will see two 'bumps' with a small button between these two grooves.  This small lever creates a semicircle lever action.  When I pushed him all the way, the error disappears, and the ink is turned down in its task.  You can try pushing this little button in the printer and maybe same band back if it is not broken.  My hypothesis is that this little button is far enough in the printer to cause the message go away.

Let me know if this helps you or if you need more descriptive words to help you find, or if you think that your printer is broken, as I am more than happy to help bring this door to work for you.

-A door open Error Message is displayed on the printer.

  • HP OFFICEJET PRO 8600 PRINTING GIBBERISH AT WINDOWS STARTUP

    Hi all!

My name is Steve and I have a question. I apologize in advance if I'm duplicating this question from another thread.

Our office has 3 computers connected to a router. The HP Officejet Pro 8600 is connected to the network. There is a problem with 2 of the calculated.

The question is then 2 3 computers (1 running XP Professional, 1 running Windows 7 Professional are booted up (off) to the printer start printing gibberish and going to print until its cancellation.) Printing will start until Windows has loaded the login window (user account screen).

Any suggestions? The major functions of printer for everything else.

    Hello

We use the same previous printer cable. However, we can certainly try another cable. There is no problem printing with any of the programs that we use with the exception of one of them, (known compatibility issue).

At this point, we don't know if the gibberish that prints to the windows startup is a problem with windows or perhaps the network.

  • What is the Web address to download the print for my windows xp vista drivers

I don't know how or where to go to download the Vista printer drivers on my windows xp machine.  It's a printer shared on windows xp and Vista.  How can I get Vista drivers.

HP did not provide a separately downloadable Vista drivers for this printer.  Instead, a "skeleton" driver is included in Vista.

    HP (http://tinyurl.com/858avum) says:

With the-OS driver, some of the buttons on the printer do not work, and some of the advanced features of these products are not available. But you can still print, then import and display images on a memory card.

In all cases, you don't need the Vista driver on the box of XP.  You should only install the Vista driver on the Vista box.

The "Additional drivers" feature of XP, which makes drivers for for other operating systems available for use with a printer shared, is only for convenience.  The only "additional drivers" you have for this function are those listed for Win 2 K and older versions of Windows - not for Vista.

For your Vista box, see the section "to print using a shared printer"--> here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Share-a-printer in a related article on how to "Find and install printer drivers," use the section "to install or update the drivers using the Printers folder."
