  • What value for p_print_server when you use the Rest Data Services as a print server?

    Hello

I have my report server on the internal workspace defined as BI Publisher URL as default... It works for my BI Publisher reports.

I have 2 reports who need to use the rest Data Services FOP engine and use GET_PRINT_DOCUMENT function Signature 4

    https://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E59726_01/doc.50/e39149/apex_util.htm#AEAPI146

For these 2 reports, I need to pass a parameter to p_print_server. The documentation describes this as the URL for the print server

My question is, how to find the URL for p_print_server when I want to use the rest Data Services FOP on ADR?

I can not put as NULL as at the time, it will use the default BI Publisher URL and then these 2 reports will not work

Moreover, when I put the server reports on internal workspace as 'Rest Data Services', my two reports work fine, but not when I put is as URL BI Publisher - which is necessary

    Help, please

    Hi Matt Mulvaney,

    Matt Mulvaney says:

I already have the correct configuration to be able to produce reports FOP including two steps you mentioned. This set works very well when I put the "Print server" preference in the settings of APEX Data Services Instance remains - and reports can be produced. But as I said, this must be set to a URL of BI Publisher.

If you use "Print server" as "Oracle BI Publisher" then the p_print_server parameter would have been:

    http://myserver.mydomain.com:8888/xmlpserver/convert

    Where:

    • Printing of the address of the host server: myserver.mydomain.com (you can also use the IP address)
    • Print Server Port: 8888 (depending on what your BI Publisher Server uses port)
    • Print server script: / xmlpserver/convert

Similarly, if you choose "Print server" as 'Oracle REST Data Services', the instance settings don't ask questions on the print settings, but internally it uses the following parameters and the p_print_server parameter is:

    http://myserver.mydomain.com:8080 / ADR / _ / fop2pdf

    Where:

    • Printing of the address of the host server: myserver.mydomain.com (host computer on which ADR is hosted)
    • Print Server Port: 8080 (the port used by what ADR/APEX Forum)
    • Script of the print server: / ords / _ / fop2pdf (this is not disclosed by APEX/ADR documentation, but as mentioned by Marc Sewtz in the following thread)

Reference: Re: Apache FOP disappeared by Oracle APEX installable APEX 5.0 and 5.0.1 APEX

  • Set up the LaserJet P1006 on print server

I'm trying to set up a HP LaserJet P1006 on a D-Link DP-300U print server.  I currently have a HP Photosmart 1315 on the same print server.  Implemented for the Photosmart was very easy (Setup program on the USB Port or parallel).  Now, I want to add the P1006.  When I try to install via system preferences, I am able to detect the print server and available USB port.  However, there is no driver listed P1006.  I tried to use the downloaded driver, but it does not work.  The installation program does not 'sees' the driver on the file.  If I connect the P1006 directly to my iMac, Setup goes very smoothy.  I prefer to use the printer on my home network.  (I need two printers on the network).

    Hello

Have you tried the driver based on the host?

    Hi Xaron,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

The printer model that you gave in your post, HP Officejet 4500 G510A made unsupported wireless or ethernet connectivity.  Without one of these methods of connectivity being available, there is no way taken in charge for the printer to communicate with a wireless device using the HP ePrint app. I've included a link to your printer's specifications.

  • Assessment capabilities of Windows print server for a large company automated printing solution...

    Hello

I need a solution to print server for a large organization. Need your help in evaluating Windows print management for this purpose.

    The case:

A centralized system correspondence generation will produce a "zip of PDF files" to print in various branches around the world. I expect to send the zipOfPDF to a centralized, Windows print server. From there on, it should be forwarded to respective branch local windows print server. I expect the following system:

    1. the centralized windows print server must be able to read zipOfPDFs and associated metadata.

2 centralized windows print server must be able to route (spool) the zipOfPDF to respective branches (metadata will include details of the branch). (Indicate if the custom coding is necessary for her or can be supported out of the box?)

    3. local windows print server receive the zipOfPdf and extract the metadata.

    4. extract the zip file and extract the files PDF.

5 read the metadata and move to designated PDF printer files (metadata will be printer details)

6 set the priority of print according to the metadata set. (The metadata will be priority printing details).

    7. create a record/report after printing the zipOfPDF.

    Indicate if

    1. it can be supported by the Windows print server instead of first? What operating system/printing system will be necessary?

    2. If so, is - all of this can be supported by out-of-the-box configurations?

    3. If no, what any custom coding may be needed and technology?

4 propose a scheme of it if possible.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • CP 5225: Print server for HP Color Laserjet CP5225

We have a HP Color Laserjet CP5225. The printer has USB connectivity. There is a network (RJ-45) port, but it is disabled.

We want to get the printer to print directly through the network.

The HP Web site suggests Print Server HP Jetdierct ew2500 (HP CP 5225 is in the printer compatibility list). However ew2500 is not available.

Please suggest a different print server for printer HP CP 5225.

You should be able to use any wired usb print server.  The server does provide a connection to the usb port on the printer so if you can communicate with the server via ip, then you just to load the driver and connect the prnter as a local tcp/ip printer.

  • Server 2008 - adding the role of print server to access the tools of PrintBRM?

    Hello

I have Windows Server 2008 with about 50 + printers currently installed. This server is configured to use Terminal Server services.

I want to access the PrintBRM tool to export this configuration for the additional Terminal servers, but I don't have the active print server role.
If I add the role of server printer so I can use PrintBRM, will this affect my configuration current impression? I will start adding printers through print management?
    I appreciate the help!

    Figured it out.

Another server in 2008 with the role of print server already installed can remotely back up and restore a Server 2008 configuration of the printer using printbrm.

  • OfficeJet 7612: I need drivers for copy on print server - do not install it on any machine

All the drivers on the website seem to settle on the machine that I use. I have a print server that is Windows 2008 CORE so I connect from my machine to the server to configure each printer; and I need to have the driver installed on the server where it loads the driver on every machine that attaches to the printer.  I need a zip file containing the driver files and inf so I have copied on the server and each machine will install them automatically when they connect to the printer.  The HP Web site account EXE files to be installed on the machine, that I'm working on so I can't find the INF files and the driver that needs to go on the server.   It's very frustrating.  How can I get just the drivers?

    Hello

You would need the program standard executable installation used for an another Windows operating system, but the method of installation must be done manually.

Download the following drivers on your desktop and extract it in a place of choice (with Winrar or 7Z),
Or by running the file, once the configuration dialog box open Explorer files, type %temp%, and then press enter and open the folder extracted from HP that begins with 7z (e.g. 7zS1234):

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL47661/MP-115385-2/OJ7610_Basicx64_971-2.exe

Then follow this articale to install the drivers of the CMD using the MSIEXEC command:

  • HP UPD PCL5/PCL6 W2k8R2-Print Server issues a one by a particular software

    Hi all

We have a print server W2k8R2 and we want to use only the HP - UPD (PCL5/PCL6), for all HP network printers.

Some printers alongside some with PCL5 PCL6. Printing from Windows is no problem on PCL5/6.

But we ge issues with printing form a particular software (Compuware Uniface).

The printer works with PCL6, everything is ok, Windows/Uniface.

But if the printer works only with the UPD PCL5, we get a few small problems.

    -WIndows print jobs

Uniface - print Don t: instead of the text, we get only a special character (@7\? *'´_ -! %&/\} [])

    and it's unusable and useless

What is the difference between PCL5 and PCL6? because in Windows, it works.

    Can someone help me?

In this case, if it is only with interactions with this specific program, then it is likely that this program is not designed to be used in the way that you use it in. If the printer does not have any problems with other functions or applications, then the software and the mechanics of the printer work properly. The problem seems to be that the program you are using is not properly able to communicate information to the machine, and what information gets the machine is not able to be understood by the printer.

Is that correct or is there more information that might change the analysis of the issue in this case?

    Let me know!

  • Manage print server permissions in Windows XP

    Hello

In Windows 7, there is a permission "Managing the server" available in the properties of the print-> tab security server. If it is enabled for a particular person or group, the user/group can can remotely add shapes to the print server (programmatically using addForms call on the shared printer) and do other operations, which are generally not allowed to the non-owners.

There is a similar option in Windows XP? I want to grant this access to remote users in XP.

    Could you please help?
