Printing from iPad without a computer

I have a second home in the Bush where there is no connection to the internet ($) reasonable available.  I've been tethering my cell phone and use it as a modem with a Mac G4 Quicksilver.  I also have an HP 5610v all-in-one on the site.  Now I have a 3rd generation iPad I would like to finish with the tethering but would still like to print (without computer).  HP has a printer that prints directly from the iPad with any other computer or Wi - Fi in question?  If it's an all-in-one, can it scan to an iPad?

Wireless live (or sometimes called "HP Direct wireless") is what you want if you don't want to hook up a wireless router.  It can be a little difficult to find this feature in the specification.  Here is an example of a printer that supports this feature:

Look in note 2.  Some printers is listed in the specs under "Available network protocols", or "Mobile printing capability.

Here's another that supports this feature:

  • Print from iPad

You can select a partial page to print from the iPad. Should what app I use?

Instead of considering the real estate of the iPad ("partial page") then determine what is printed, it would be much better to think in terms of the application you are trying to print from.

For example, if you try to print one or more photos in a group of pictures displayed on the screen of the iPad, then Yes, it is a way to do it.  Or if you try to print a note or a Safari page, Yes, you can do the same.

    Hello

It seems that this model is not compatible AirPrint, but you should be able to use the hp eprint app to print wireless from your ipad - download the application and make sure that your printer and your ipad are connected to the same wifi network. When it is finished, you should be mean print wireless from the eprint app.

    Hello

AirPrint is already built into the iPad. I have included a link below with some instructions on how to use it. As long as your ipad and the printer are connected to the same wifi network, AirPrint must operate, your printer is active AirPrint.

  • printing from ipad on hp3052a printer

I can't print a document from the ipad2 at 3052 on the 3g network a printer. WIFI and email works great. Is there a setting I need to turn on the printer or the ipad?

AirPrint feature to print from any Apple device (which IOS 4.2 or later version) which is connected to the same network as the printer.  Thus, to use the AirPrint feature, both the printer and Apple devices must be on the same local network.  However, the ePrint feature allows you to print from anywhere in the world as long that your printer has to an internet connection and is turned on. So, your best option is to put in place the ePrint feature.  I hope that that clears it for you.  The process step by step is under "Setting up ePrint" on the following HP Web site:

  • Print from ipad to printer usb via a wireless router

Is it possible to print from the ipad to DeskJet 882c via a wireless router that supports usb (like Linksys EA3500) print?

    Thank you

    Hi Ralph51,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you would like to know if you can print from your iPad to your printer Deskjet 882c.

I've included the document on the Part of your printer on a network with Apple AirPort . It would be the only option available to print from your iPad.

  • Printing from IPad or Iphone always goes to Tray 1, but tiroir2 is the default tray.

Product name: OfficeJet 8500 has more

Op systems: Win 7 & Apple Ipad and Iphone and MAC

    Error messages: no

Changes: has never been worked, no change

I have two bins in my printer.  Tray 1 is used for envelopes and tray 2 is the standard letter paper.  Tray 2, is that the default bin for normal printing and works perfectly in my Windows 7 Desktop.Tray 1 is the only one who can handle the envelopes so there is no other choice on what bin to use.

However, when I try to print from my IPad, IPone, or my wife's MAC, printing always goes to Tray 1 which contains only envelopes.

It seems not all options in the IPad or Iphone to select a bin, but I would have thought it would go to the default tray which is installed in the printer.

For this reason, it makes the officejet 8500 more useless a eprint.  I like having the upper tray for envelopes, but I don't know that I would have bought the option two tray if I had know this before time difficulty.

    Forward to your response

    Ray

    Hi Ray,

    • Mac, you can change the settings of the tray as follows:

    1. check that the second tray has been installed correctly. To check this open system preferences and go to Print & Fax. Open the print to your printer queue. Click Printer Setup and in the tab menu choose driver. Make sure the box next to the entry optional feeder is checked.

    2. starting at the application used to print, click the file menu and select print.
    The print window is displayed.
NOTE: The print window might be minimized: click the blue triangle next to product model (Mac OS X v10.5 or v10.6) or the button view details (Mac OS X Lion v10.7) to see all of the available parameters.

    3. to select the input tray, click on the area of selection below, listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.

    4. Select the Type/quality paper in the menu dropdown.

    5. adjust the Source option as the desired input tray.

You can save the settings for later use by clicking preset > save current settings as preset.

    • For iOS, Airprint does not support any selection of tray, but only the 1st plateau.

However you can use HP ePrint home & Biz however, taking charge of selection of the status bar:

  • HP 6520: Printing from ipad

I didn't know which side to choose for this. I had no problem installing the printer. My question is, when I send a picture from my iPad to the printer prints from the tray to photo paper. Is there a way to print a larger size of the iPad to the printer? It is not a cause of real big problem I can do it from my laptop with windows 7, but I thought that I would like to know because it would be nice if I could. I'm very non technical so I need simple instructions.

Thank you for your help. I had already implemented the e-print. I just wanted to know on the iPad. I understand now. I just thought maybe it was me. Problem solved. Thank you.

  • Officejet 8610 printing from iPad Air

I just bought an all-in-one OfficeJet 8610.  I can use it to print from my iPhone, but not from my iPad Air.

The only way I can print from my iPad Air is to use the hp eprint app.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello

Also, you should be able to print from your iPad to air. Try to restart your ipad to look and see if it appears in your list of printers avaialable - it's a simple solution that works sometimes.
