Printing with larger font results

Hello

My 3 year old has played with the printer and now the PrintOut prints incredibly large, almost as if it prints a quarter of a page at a time.  It is a waste of paper (taking 14 pages to print a document from pages 3-4) and I can't read it because the pages are cut to take account of the size.  I checked everywhere in my settings, can anyone help?

I have a HP Officejet J6400 all-in-one.

Thank you!

Jenn

Hi theszarazs,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I want to just make sure that I understand the question, your son was playing with the HP Officejet J6400 series printer, now your print outs are magnified. After looking in the printer configuration menu, there is no option to enlarge the print settings. Did you mean that he was playing with the computer? If yes I would you let me know the following:

1. What is your current operating system, Windows or Mac and what version?

2. you try to print a document or an element of a web page? What program or browser you use?

If you are using a Windows operating system, please try the following:

1. open an Internet Explorer browser, go to the far right click on the gear icon

2. Select Print Preview

3. now along the top, you will see an option to change the size of the page, please make sure that it is set to adjust or 100%.

4. now, try a test page, the text is expanded?

If the print outs are still enlarged, try and run HP print and Scan Doctor- it was designed by HP to provide users with troubleshooting and problem-solving features needed to solve many common problems encountered with HP print and scan Windows computers-related products.

Please answer back with the information requested, if you always use problems.

Thank you

  • How to compose an e-mail message with larger fonts?

I just sent a message starting with some information, but when I copied and pasted a line address, he stressed and when I spaced back to my default font, the message continues underlined and in much smaller font. How can I continue in my own default font and color?

Re: but when I copied and pasted an address online, it was pointed

by "address line", I presume that you are referring to the address of the Web page as shown in the address bar of the browser to let you know that you look at the page: for example:
    https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Thunderbird/all.html

If you use "Insert" > 'Link' method then the link is added and stressed.
Simple copy/paste or hand typed links placed directly in the editor are not highlighted in the editor, but they become auto stressed after sending or if you save it as a draft.
If you save it as a project and then choose to edit the project, you would see the link pointed out in composition.

However, if you did a simple copy paste, but copy a piece of text on a Web page that was a link pointed out, not copied from the address bar, then you will have copied some also good formatting.
If I do that and then go back and then type, copied to the hidden format will be always used and are similar to a part of the link. Although if I press space the underline does not continue, but then it doesn't matter how exactly moves you make and the copied text may have included an empty space with a hidden formatting.
If this sounds like your situation - copy text that says that it is a link try to go to the link and then copy and paste the info from the address bar and not the text link.

You can see what is happening with the fomatting.
Save as draft, then navigate to the project folder, select email and click on 'Other Actions' > View Source.

    I use version 31.2.0
    What version you use.

  • Find the old XP for large fonts setting, Extra large fonts in Win7

Under Win XP, if you right click the desktop, you can go into the settings display or appearance (I forget which) and choose to change the font size in the world, the Normal font, large fonts or Extra Large.  You can also change the ppp settings.

In Win 7, it seems only global allows you to change the sizes of police or through DPI settings, and for me, is not enough.  I had found the right combination of a DPI higher associated with "large fonts", which worked very well in most programs.

My question: nor not Win7 were the old normal, large and extra-large, choice of fonts hidden somewhere like the one shown below (and again, I speak NOT the DPI settings for large fonts)?

    http://www.ConsumerWorld.org/GIFs/LargeFonts.jpg

(Also, I don't know about the font in IE settings, etc., but it's too not that I am referring is.)

    Thank you
    Edgar

    Hello dworskye,

Unfortunately this option is no longer available.
You can change the resolution, change the DPI, and depending on the used theme change the sizes of individual fonts. Need you to do this right click the desktop, click personalization, Color of Windows, click on Advanced appearance settings
    Hope this helps

  • text with a larger font for printing on paper of reflow

I visit the http://paragraf1.cappelendamm.no/c165513/sammendrag/vis.html?tid=205854 page and try to print it.

The result is "scaling to fit page', and has a very small font.
I can print in landscape mode, which solves the problem in this particular case, but I would like to be able to print in portrait mode.

If I feel 100% nationally, much of the text disappears to the right of the edge of paper.

I wish that it is a control to rearrange the text using large fonts without increasing the total width of the layout.

    Is there a way?

This site cleverly created which removes the first column of the table of three columns when you print a style sheet, but they neglected the fact that the width of the table is fixed in pixels for width too wide for portrait printing.

In this area and many other cases, you can manually 'hack' of the page to print better, but unfortunately, there is no single solution to this problem.

For example, in this case, you can remove the width setting of the table of three columns with a snippet of JavaScript code.

    (1) select the following script, and then copy it to the Clipboard:

    var tables=document.querySelectorAll("table"); for (var num=0; num<tables.length; num++){tables[num].removeAttribute("width");}

    (2) open the web console by pressing Ctrl + Shift + k (it's also in the Web Developer menu).

    (3) next to the circumflex accent (>) paste the line script and press ENTER to run it

(4), try to preview before printing to confirm that it worked. You can close the web console using the small "x" in the upper right corner of the pane, or by pressing Ctrl + Shift + k new.

I've always wanted an add-on that could attach to the top of any page to print, but because of the wide variety of page layouts, it is difficult to automate. For now, you can try one that allows you to add the page to the preview screen: Print Edit - Add - ons for Firefox. It takes some practice to select the correct element, but if you prefer really clean and usable prints, it might be worth investing a bit of time to learn it. Regarding the ' "smart printing, maybe one day!

  • File to change PDF to print with a larger font

I understand that with Adobe Acrobat 9 or X, we could be able to print a PDF with a larger font.  Is the only way because I don't have any other software - only the free player.  To retirement and visually impaired, I really want to pay the full purchase price.  I got the 4K eye surgeon...

You talk about a type change function that is not part of Acrobat. Sorry, but extend the font size which would require also a reflow of the document is not appropriate in Acrobat action. If you can convert the PDF to WORD or Open OFFICE (may be able to open a PDF file in one of them - maybe but doubt actually), you could do the expansion in WORD or Open OFFICE (or free AGENCY). Another option could be to try to copy and paste from the PDF file to a word processor. Unfortunately, you often end up with a large number of symbols of paragraph at the end of each line and may have to do a reformat. Good luck.

  • M401dne does not print large font

I made a page in Word 2010 with a 115-point font. My M401dne prints as a blank page.  The page prints fine at my local DeskJet 6940. The M401 is a network printer, and I use the version of HP Universal PCL6 61.170.1.18326 printer driver. I have attached the page if someone else with my setup to try to print.

Is this related to a known issue?

    Thanks for any idea.

    Jeffrey Pike

I don't have your Installer ((Universal) printer driver, so I can't do a like-for-like test or printer model.)

    What I did is:

    • Install it 'HP LaserJet 400 M401 PCL6 driver class' built into Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit edition.
    • This used to "print" your document (using Word 2013) in a capture .prn file.
    • Envoy conternts of the file captured at my local LaserJet 1320n printer; the text of the large font size prints OK.
    • Envoy conternts of the file captured at my local printer LaserJet Pro 400 MFP M475dn ; the text of the large font size prints OK.

What you could do is to take the same file (attached, with an extension extra .txt added to the name so that it can be attached here) and send the content to your printer port and check the result.

If it prints OK, then the problem is likely to be something to do with your driver printer and/or the application.

If it does not print OK, then the printer, or the printer firmware, is at fault (or arguably deliberately not large font sizes).

Welcoming send the contents of the file on a network printer from a Windows command prompt session, use:

LPR s address of the printer P - all largefont_M401_PCL6ClassDriver.prn.txt

to send the contents of largefont_M401_PCL6ClassDriver.prn.txt to the printer with TCP - IP address address of the printer.

  • How to display very large text with the font size?

I'm using html and css to display large text with the font size.

    Label {
        text: "Acit"
    }

In the image below, it is the largest size, although I try to increase the value of the size of the font. Do you know how to display the largest font size?

    Thanhks

You should be able to amplify it upward with scaleX/scaleY properties, although no doubt quality will suffer somewhat (but probably not significantly, for most people).

  • printing with custom legacy font (.) A3L)

    Hello world

I stumbled upon an old DOS application, EMS, used for the old PLC program logic. Logic is a function block so there are lines and boxes.

The application comes with a police A3L custom suffix. There is also autodl.exe to load fonts in the printer. I'm running it in virtual environment of Windows 98. I don't have any 'real' LPT or HP Laserjet series 2, so the autodl.exe gives an error. When I try to print with a standard font with a virtual PDF printer, all I get is a page with several strings (e.g. * c7a143b0P) placed one above the other, sometimes of 20 of them in a pile.

Is there no workaround solution that would allow me to print something through the use of police made custom?

When I open the file of police with Notepad, I see it's a file copyrighted by HP since 1986. Yes, 1986! Some real old school.

    Thanks for any help.

I have no idea of the answer, just a few comments:

    • The * c7a143b0P sequence (which will be almost certainly preceded by a (non-graphical) control code character resembles a PCL escape sequence , whose meaning is:)

      Offset Type Sequence Description
      ------------- --------------------- ---------------- ----------------------------------------------------

00000000 PCL Parameterised *c7a Rectangle Size Horizontal (7 PCL units)
00000005 143b Rectangle Size Vertical (143 PCL units)
00000009 0P Fill Rectangular Area: Solid Area

    • This is part of your comment about «I have not...» Printer HP Laserjet series 2", which is a printer PCL 4 .
    • Then you will not be able to "print" to a PDF printer, PDF being nothing like PCL.
  • Distillation/Printing Postscript files with TrueType fonts

We have the possibility to include marketing inserts full pages (PDF format) in our documents/letters. These inserts put in the full postscript file that we send to a printing facility to print and send.

Whenever a new insert marketing is created, I run an audit before the flight custom to ensure that fonts are included and transparent do not exist.

The thing is, we use a few printing facilities, they have printing problems of resources/PDF files into postscript that have TrueType fonts. I also see some errors when I try to distill files with TrueType fonts: "Impossible to extract the embedded police 'JOLMKC + Times-Roman'."  Sometimes, I can edit the PDF to convert Type 1 fonts, but not always. Is it possible to convert TrueType to Type 1? Why TrueType fonts do not work? I did some research, and everything I've read says that TrueType fonts should work in postscript.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    What I use:

    Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

    Windows 8.1

Police of example I used with the error:

    Times-Roman (embedded subset)

    Type: TrueType

    Encoding: Ansi

    It also came with Arial:

    ArialMT (embedded subset)

    Type: TrueType

    Ansi encoding

Fix. In my view, that the file PDF is turned via Ghostscript.

I did eventually find out using Adobe Acrobat 9 (only tried the reader, not Pro), I got all the fonts to Type 1 fonts. I followed the exact same steps as I did in the 11. I don't know if they both incorporate different ways, but each time I have incorporate into 9, it incorporate all Type 1 fonts, not just some of them such as 11.

I get more concrete information on the technical process, but at this point, I have solved my problem. Thanks for the offer of help!

  • Printing with custom built-in fonts

I have a few questions about printing using specific fonts. While I found no documentation specifically dealing with this area, if there are documents dealing with this subject directly, please point me to it.

My application allows printing the current view and I would use a certain font that is not available to the system level on the computer that runs the application. If I embed a font, that font is only usable on the controls in the view, or can I create a print job and use the fonts to the printer? Or the printer has to "know" the police as well?

Where should I integrate my policy? In the ActionScript file that loads the printed form or on paper form?

A printed page is just a Flash display list tree.  Vector or a bitmap

vectors of the embedded police are sent to the printer.  The printer

don't know anything about the police.

I would like to incorporate the police in the printed form.

  • Large font of Google problem

    Hello
I have a problem with google serach results. Sometimes, the font is large, but sometimes normal sound.
Its really annoying. I tried with my cookies only for google, the deletion and my police gets to normal, but after some time it is once again great. I've read about it and I tried an alternative deletion happy file - prefs.sqlite in the firefox profile folder, but the result was temporary.

Georgi, you need to do 2 things to solve this problem.

    1. Install Stylish addon restart Firefox
    2. Install the Google search - links Classic userstyle

This should restore Google to the way it looked before the changes, they went to the search results page this month (March 2014).

Google tests frequently different changes to their search results page using special cookies to show these changes to users at random. If you delete these cookies,'ll get you the old style Google search page. But now they decided to perpetuate this recasting to delete cookies help no more.

  • Impossible to print the Chinese fonts PCL, always print Korean

    Dear support

I tried to print the Chinese police of PCL commands

It prints only Korean, regardless of what font type I attributed

    I've already classified under the code in < esc > (18 < esc > (s1pXXv0s0b17007T

my printer is M602n, it comes with disk resident fonts Japanese, Korean, Chinese-T, S-Chinese

    Can someone please help?

    Thank you

I don't have access to a printer LaserJet M602n , so don't know much about his abilities.

Its replacement by 12 for the point size XX in your skeleton PCL escape sequence:

    < esc > (18 main fonts: symbol Set (18 = Unicode))
< esc > (s1p main fonts: spacing: proportional)
12V main fonts: height (12 points)
0 main fonts: Style (standing, solid)
0b main fonts: the race weight: medium
    17007T main fonts: font (identifier = 17007)

shows that you select a font:

    • That supports the 18 (= Unicode) symbol defined. all the evolutionary independent printer encapsulated TrueType fonts resident should theoretically therefore be candidates.
    • Which is proportionally spaced and available in the selected, the size in points.
    • With the font identifier 17007 - I have no idea if it is a printer resident on the M602 template policy.

However, to select characters with the character codes outside of byte 0 x 20->0xff range using the Unicode code points (need two-bytes or more, because they are larger than 0xff), you must also select the method of text analysis; for Unicode, it would be:

    < esc > & t83P method of text analysis: UTF-8

Then the required code points must be specified using the (two bytes or more) coding UTF-8 to Unicode code point values (so, for example, U + 100 would be coded under 0xc480); I don't know, offhand, which extends under Unicode are used for characters in the Chinese language.

There are other values of the sequence of text analysis Mode to select, but I'm not very familiar with any of them:

    < esc > & t0P text analysis method: 1 byte
    < esc > & t1P text analysis method: 1 byte
    < esc > & t2P method of text analysis: 2 bytes
    < esc > & t21P method of text analysis: 1 | 2 Asian 7-bit bytes
    < esc > & t31P method of text analysis: 1 | 2 Shift-JIS bytes
    < esc > & t38P method of text analysis: 1 | 2 Asian 8-bit bytes

that can be used with another Asian symbol fixed (if the printer supports them), but I don't know the details offhand.

  • DeskJet 3510: Print too large Deskjet 3510

Lately, whenever I have print anything it is printing too big - margins are off page. I did the align printer and can't find anything in the settings of the printer for this affect where it prints the correct size - it is not set in landscape mode and is set to portrait, so I do not understand why it feels like landscape. Anyone know how to solve this problem.

    @Pita56

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Most of the time, the size of the police - margins, the scale - and 'together General' that you print the page is managed in the application you are using at the time that you configure the print job.

In most browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer), publishers of documents (Word, free) and PDF (Adobe Reader and Foxit) readers, this "setup" is run a program or a called subroutine print preview.

You (in other words, the print job) can get into trouble when the scale of the Page does not match the study - maybe the margins are not (and must be) set "Fit to Page".

Font sizes may be too small - or large - for similar reasons, but it can become a little more complicated than that.

It is also true that certain documents and Web Pages are best printed in landscape mode in Portrait - and it is not always clear in glancing at the Page that is best.

You might take a look at the following and see if the explanations and examples can help you sort through what is happening in your situation:

Manage the print with preview output before printing

  • Bar code printed with Adobe Reader XI can be recognized by bar code reader

    Dear support,

We generate barcodes and convert it into pdf file using Crystal Report for .NET Framework 2.0

The pdf file opens with Adobe reader XI / FoxitReader 4.3.1. It is printed with Avery Dennison AP 5.4 300 dpi.

When the pdf file is printed with Adobe reader XI, the barcode can be read with the code reader barcode, but when it is printed with FoxitReader 4.3.1 barcode can be read with the barcode reader.

I compared the two codes barcode printed and found Adobe printed the thicker lines and larger characters. Thus, two lines pasted together and become a 1 line. As a result, it can be recognized by bar code reader.

Could you explain why this happen and how to solve this problem in Adobe? Are there settings I can change to fix?

    Thank you very much.

Operating system: Windows Xp or Windows 7

Application: Adobe reader XI or FoxitReader 4.3.1

Have you tried this printer with another computer/device?

The first step is to determine whether or not it is a problem for Adobe.
