privacy.clearOnShutdown.cache; released true disk cache.

If both "privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown" & "privacy.clearOnShutdown.cache" can be found on the disc of the 'true' Firefox 12 cache does not work. "

I've recently updated to Firefox 7 on some machines and the characteristic closing from clearing cache is not just clear the disk cache more, it disables it completely. I have confirmed this in a clean VM.

More info: Profile\ProfileName\Cache the folder gets deleted and about: cache shows that the memory & cache offline.

Anyone know if this is planned, or a bug?

  • When adding 'pref ("privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown", true)'; default prefs of the file "privacy.clearOnShutdown.cookies" and "privacy.cpd.cookies" become false

    This is a duplicate of https://support.mozilla.org/ru/questions/970266. Created because of silence and the impossibility to change question category. The descripted situation is a * problem * a.

    The question is quite similar to http://support.mozilla.org/ru/questions/962042, but I * don't lock prefs *, so I don't use * mozilla.cfg*.

    I'm building installation preconfigured Firefox 23.0.1 under Win 7 64-bit by using the browser\defaults\preferences\prefs.js file. Yes, I know that it should be called all-* companyname * .js, but it works generally in my way too.

    As I wrote in subj, when I add the file prefs.js "pref ("privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown", true);" line, then lines "pref ("privacy.clearOnShutdown.cookies", true)"; and "pref ("privacy.cpd.cookies", true);" stop working. If an execution on: config immediately after installation, it would see that the two latter options are passed to false and marked * bold * (changed by the user).

    I had tested it strongly: If a comment on 'pref ("privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown", true)'; line other two preferences work very well. However if you add this cursed pref either higher or lower than code - no matter - it turn the other two preferences to * fake *.

    The question is where these strange side effects are documented? And how do a preconfigured installation possible both sanitize things and erase cookie at the end?

    Thanks in advance.

    The problem came from Firefox 4 +. Just add a new line:

    user_pref ("privacy.sanitize.migrateFx3Prefs", true);

    in your prefs.js or true value in: config. Then your Firefox does not automatically "privacy.clearOnShutdown.cookies" and "privacy.cpd.cookies", false.

    Hope this will help.

  • Need help on the release of disk space

    Hello world... I've recently refreshed my computer dell laptop and after this process has completed. I see that my c drive is nearly full, as about 20 GB is left out of 150 GB.

    The problem is I'm sure that there must be more space on the c drive and when I check the size of all the files its not even 13 GB... so I wonder what's happened on this drive and what's showing I have only 20 GB left... can anyone please help out me with this one

    Original title: disk space

    I beg of you.

    I recommend you get the Windows 8.1 update. It contains all fixes for known problems that have been discovered since 8.0 was released two years before--that's a lot of updates.  It is also necessary to use some functions or applications, more there improvements such as the return of the Start button and other updates to usability for those of us who use our computers with one keyboard and mouse.

    • Before you get the free 8.1 update in the app Store, go to the Panel Office and make sure you have first all updates.  Right click your Start button, choose Control Panel, then go to system and security and click on ' Check for updates ' in the Windows Update section. After they are all installed, restart and check once more there is no rest, then go ahead and start the 8.1 update.

    Regarding the cleaning program. There is no 'damage' in run periodically, just keep in mind that it can empty your trash, so be careful if you think you will need to retrieve an item removed recently.  Also consider that some of the elements that it cleans are actually useful to you.  The temporary Internet files for example, are there to speed up your Internet usage.  If you disable the files, all files must be downloaded again, that slows down the speed of your Internet.

    • In general, I recommend not to execute the cleaning manually program and allow for automatic maintenance of Windows to take care of it for you. The default automatic maintenance works at 03:00 once a week, but you can change that in the center of the Action.

    Dana,

    Do a disk cleanup:

    Click the Vista blue start button, click computer entry in the Start Menu. Right-click on your hard drive, then select Properties > disk cleanup > files of all users...

    More Options > clean (System Restore and shadow copies).

  • Using the service 'Release hard disk': some pictures of stay in "Update the Photos to reissue", even if I publish it

    Hello

    First of all please excuse my bad English. [I am french :-)]

    I have 2 different problems with pictures in smart albums used in a service of "Publish on hard drive" [Publication of the Service of hard disk] :

    -some of them stay in the section "Updating the Photos to republish" ['Changed to republish photos'] even when I publish it. The published photo is created and saved on my hard drive, but the picture goes to the section "Published photos" [published Photos by] for a second and then go back to the section "update the Photos to republish. To move back then in 'Published Photo', I need to use the "mark as up to date" [mark as updated] option in the right click menu.

    d ' other hand, some ot them (maybe the same) are still stuck in the section 'photos Publised' even if I do some changes (adding keyword, change some options of development...).

    Can I have some help please?

    Under the terms of the license, no, you can't. Because it must have already been linked to another computer.

  • Startup option stopped working

    I USED to have the value "windows and tabs from last time", but it is no longer useful.
    so I changed it to "show the selected Session Manager session".

    Alas, he refuses to do.
    the mornings opening session last night. =/
    I keep trying this option over and over again, without success.

    and even if I'm here, he also refused to use the cache.
    every day, it downloads all the news pages (it is CERTAINLY sensitive!).

    What gives?

    There are various internal and external mechanisms to clear the Firefox cache.

    For the internal mechanisms, you can verify that this preference is set to false:

    privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown

    or if she has the true value, make sure that the next preference is set to false:

    privacy.clearOnShutdown.cache

    (Corresponds to the Options > privacy > clear history of Firefox closing)

    Also, make sure that you are not in the mode "permanent private browsing." https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/private-browsing-browse-Web-without-saving-info#w_how-do-i-always-start-Firefox-in-private-browsing

    For the external mechanisms, check the options in programs that clear the caches such as CCleaner.

    Finally, it is possible for the metadata file corrupted cache files. In this case, you may need to quit Firefox everything manually delete the cache folder and then start over again. I've never tried it myself, so I suggest that in waiting for other comments before trying it.

  • How to fix a low disk space issue in XP?

    I'm trying to clear up a problem of low disk space.  I uninstalled the 2 programs for a total of 1 GB, went for a walk and had 200 MB of free space.  Any ideas where my bytes went?  Don't do any work, no one else was home.

  • 16 GB of free disk space required to upgrade?

    I have a 80 GB drive partitioned and C: has 3 GB of spare, I would like to upgrade to windows 7, but it says I need 16 GB of free disk, Vista is already using 22 gb - if I upgrade to I win 6 GB or is windows really 38 GB because none of my partitions are that big. (E: a 22 GB of spare I put windows on both Partitions?).

    I tried to resize the two partitions by using disk management C: offers the possibility of reduction of the score but the expand option is grayed out.

    Windows 7 32-bit requires 16 GB of free disk space
    Windows 7 64-bit requires 20 GB of free space on the disk

    In fact, Windows 7 does not use that amount of space, but for the actual installation, Windows 7 will store some files temporarily to help with the installation. Disk space actually used by Windows varies from 6 to 10 GB, depending on the edition you are installing.

    You can try to free disk space by running disk clean up and remove old system restore points. You can also try clearing your temporary files directory:

    Click Start, type: folder
    Press ENTER, delete the contents of this folder.

    Additional details and instructions for the release of disk space:
    How to speed up your Windows 7 system:
    http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog/CNS! E8E5CC039D51E3DB! 40406.entry

    You should try to uninstall applications you do not use and move files you use for example videos, photos on an external hard drive, you could do temporarily, then restore them after the installation of Windows 7.

  • Recover disk space

    Hello everyone,

    I am all new to this community and very happy to be here.

    I just started a new job looking after a new IT infrastructure, my experience has been Hyper-V, but now I'm looking after a 5.1 ESXi VMWare environment. So far I'm in love, then its great together!

    I've been after help, we have a virtual machine that has 4 VHD thin provisioned, HD1 (disk0 in the server disk management) currently only has 1 TB of unallocated space that is there is no active partition assigned to this area of space. My question is: what is the best practice to deduct all or maybe some of this space back so I can supply more VM.

    I have done some calculations and I have more than enough space on the server with the TB unallocated so that the space is really just wasted already.

    I can't wait to receive some answers and responses.

    Thank you very much

    Lee

    As you can see, the first virtual disk ' CDI-coFW - SQL.vmdk ' occupies ~ 115 GB of physical disk space, which is very probably the space required by the 3 active partitions. It is certainly possible to use e.g. the converter to get rid of the empty partition, but it's probably more than release of disk space for internal purposes. I probably wouldn't change anyting, except that I had a lot of free time.

  • Associating a VMDK disk to a virtual machine

    Hello

    I implement the restoration of a saved VM. I created the virtual machine with the virtual machine configuration information upwards. I have also created the disk in Esx Server using the CreateVirtualDisk_Task call with the thin option in the VirtualDisk_Spec (hope it creates a thin provisioned disk). Now how to associate the disk created with the VM newly created using the vstorage api. When backing up I've accessed your drive hard details with VM-> Config-> hardware-> virtualDevice. Fill this data structure with the details of the hard drive? What is the best way to add a hard disk created in a virtual machine?

    Thank you

    . / Siva.

    Hello Shiva!

    But anyway the Vmdk file created must be fixed with the VirtualMachine right?

    Yes, you are right, but I would suggest taking a different route - it becomes a bit redundant but all I declare now is purely my understanding of documentation, etc., that is not yet done in the real world - you know I'm still working on the persistence of VMConfig if you are away in front of my friend:

    I suggest not to use the CreateVirtualDisk_Task (...) at all. If I understand correctly, you condition is currently to fully restore the virtual machine. There you have the backup of disks and configuration of the VM and now to recreate the entire VM from scratch with raw empty disks that reload you the backup content.

    From my point of view, all this, except the reloading can be done via the Folder.CreateVM_Task (...) and its VirtualMachineConfigSpecparameter. Through the ConfigSpec.deviceChange property, you can provide an array of data objects VirtualDeviceConfigSpec. Finally, you can specify a VirtualDeviceConfigSpec which creates a VirtualDisk. The following was borrowed here:

    // Duplicate virtual machine configuration
    VirtualMachineConfigSpec configSpec = new VirtualMachineConfigSpec();
    // Set the VM values
    configSpec.setName("My New VM");
    configSpec.setVersion("vmx-04");

     ...
    // Now add in the devices
    VirtualDeviceConfigSpec[] deviceConfigSpec = new VirtualDeviceConfigSpec [5];
    configSpec.setDeviceChange(deviceConfigSpec);

     ...

    // Formulate the SCSI controller
    deviceConfigSpec[1].setOperation(VirtualDeviceConfigSpecOperation.add);
    VirtualLsiLogicController scsiCtrl = new VirtualLsiLogicController();
    scsiCtrl.setBusNumber(0);
    deviceConfigSpec[1].setDevice(scsiCtrl);
    scsiCtrl.setKey(-44);
    scsiCtrl.setSharedBus(VirtualSCSISharing.noSharing);
    // Formulate SCSI disk one
    deviceConfigSpec[2].setFileOperation(VirtualDeviceConfigSpecFileOperation.create); // create disk file
    deviceConfigSpec[2].setOperation(VirtualDeviceConfigSpecOperation.add); // add disk to vm
    VirtualDisk disk = new VirtualDisk();
    VirtualDiskFlatVer2BackingInfo diskfileBacking = new VirtualDiskFlatVer2BackingInfo();
    diskfileBacking.setDatastore(datastoreRef);
    diskfileBacking.setFileName(volumeName);
    diskfileBacking.setDiskMode("persistent");
    diskfileBacking.setSplit(new Boolean(false));
    diskfileBacking.setWriteThrough(new Boolean(false));
    diskfileBacking.setThinProvisioned(true);
    disk.setKey(-1000000);
    disk.setControllerKey(new Integer(-44));
    disk.setUnitNumber(new Integer(0));
    disk.setBacking(diskfileBacking);
    disk.setCapacityInKB(524288);
    deviceConfigSpec[2].setDevice(disk);

    Foregoing, we learn that the VirtualDeviceConfigSpec governs the creation and the addition of the disc, or more broadly, the VirtualDevice, to the virtual machine that will be created. In regards to records remember to recreate the news of support according to the configuration that you have saved for your backup. This should give the correct disk, type in your thin case put into service.

    If I did not know any subject do not hesitate ask - this post is a little complicated to write ;-)

    Anyway hope it do you get going again...

  • Removal of all the snapshots--> error: more space for virtual disk...

    Hello everyone

    I'm quite new to VMware and has failed to find a solution for my problem. If someone could help me, it would be awesome!

    During the migration of a SBS2003 guest at a new SBS2008 customer, I made some shots. I have now finished, the new SBS2008 works well and is already in production. Now I wanted to free up the space occupied by all these snapshots and finished with this error:

    There is no more space for disk virtual hercules2.mydomain.local - 000005.vmdk. You might be able to continue this session by the release of disk space on the relevant volume, and then click Retry.

    The SBS2008 still seems to work very well. All snapshots in the Snapshot Manager left... but when you browse the data store the snapshot files are still there.

    How to proceed now?

    Thanks in advance everybody!

    Renaud

    If you have another store of data with extra space, you can clone the virtual computer to the another data store.

  • Firefox beta 35. not ready for prime time.

    I spent all weekend trying to get the beta version of Firefox 35 to work. What I found is that * extensions of all it does not work with the exception of the maintenance of the premises. I can't download any extension that Firefox is so famous. The error is something like "unable to install"plugin-name"in its current state." Activation of any extension requires a FF reboot, same places maintenance. Try to remove an extension fails and must be done manually.

    I'm on Windows 7 Premium desktop Firefox 32 bits. I've 'committed' myself to 35 FF last night (which means history and cache out of settling because did not work it extension "expire history by days'), when I found out that 35 played well with some sites using Flash. It was a capricious thing. Many sites worked as usual, but some would not. Examples:
    http://www.Wunderground.com/us/Wi/La_Crosse.html

    http://www.weather.com/weather/5day/l/Hustler+Wi+54637:4:us

    First time I have had a problem with a version beta of Firefox, but it's definitely not ready for prime time. I realize FF tries to get away from what we call 'Exclusive Modules' but 35 FF in its current state just fill in Support of Moz forums with millions of complaints (guess I'm one of the first). I now have 1 extension (the only one that works on 35), the above mentioned "Site Maintenance".

    I thought you might like this report as 'user input '. God knows I've tried... I have downloaded 35 at least a dozen times and then was forced to 34.0.5. So I'm back on 34.0.5

    Good news, friends... and thanks for holding my hand during all this time. I mainly need to know if my problems were me. global or all just... and perhaps others with some configurations.

    I am now on 35.0b2 (not sure how that happened). Anyway, I downloaded beta, that is, reset Firefox, added my cookies.sqlite and permissions.sqlite, has spent half an hour in the 'options', and then checked things and seems to be back in the game!

    Thank you and best regards,
