private browser option is missing
I added an application (I forgot the name of it) that would end "private browsing" because I wasn't sure how do. Now the option in the tools pulldown disappeared... I'm stuck in private mode and can not find a way to remedy. I tried to add another app to reverse the trend, but it does not work.
What color is the Firefox button in the upper left corner of Firefox?
Purple means you're in private browsing mode and Orange means you're not.
If start private browsing , or stop private browsing will appear in the Firefox menu drop-down button (or Tools menu), you probably have the extension turn off private browsing installed. You don't see this extension in the tab of the Add-ons Manager, unless you open Firefox in Firefox SafeMode.

I can not turn off private browsing.
I voluntarily put Firefox always open in mode incognito by right click > properties and adding-private until the end of the target. Then I caught a virus that made me decide to uninstall / reinstall firefox. Now it always opens in private mode, but I can't stop it. When I right click > properties - private is no longer there. When I go to the Tools tab private browsing options are grayed out. When I try ctrl + shift + p, nothing happens. How can I disable private browsing?
I also disabled the history at some point, but I don't remember how I did it. I remembered that at the time. This could be what is causing the problem.

When I'm in the mode of private browsing in Firefox 38.0.1 for Windows 8.1, I can't do the following.
1. when I click on a link to open a new window, the new window is like a pop-up window (no menus, no scroll bar). I have a blocked pop-up windows, it is like, but is not technically a pop-up window but it is not blocked.
2. when I choose a bookmark and then right-click on it to choose another bookmark in a new window or new tab (or any other options that appear), the text is gray while I can't choose it.
These "issues" are normal for Firefox 38.0.1?
My suggestions for the settings to be performed in all: config. That type in the address bar, press the return key, then change these settings. Which will affect the popup windows. Does this affect the private windows?

It is said in support of the pages that the option ' Privacy > don't remember history ' is equivalent to private browsing.
He said also that after you activate private browsing does not store history or passwords. So how are related options: "confidentiality > don't remember history ', ' confidentiality > settings customized user > permanent private browsing ' and ' security > remember passwords?
(1) if I activate "Privacy > don't remember history" fact it also means that the passwords are not stored?
(2) activate instead
"Privacy > settings customized user > permanent private browsing."
This still implies that passwords are not stored?3 If 1) or (2) are together, what is the role of the apparently independent option "security > remember passwords?
I'm sorry but the logic of the user interface is not really clear for me
Thanks for your help.
1. Yes. Setting "Firefox will: don't remember history ' prompts you to restart Firefox, after which 'always use private browsing mode' will be checked. The option "Remember passwords for sites" will be disabled and unavailable (grayed out).
2. Yes. It's the same thing.
3. as I said, in this case the option "Remember passwords for sites" would be unavailable (grayed out). The rest of the time, this option allows to disable the registration of passwords not in private browsing mode.

I just reinstalled Windows 7 64-bit(for other purposes) and of course downloaded firefox 21.0 as soon as I could, but found that it is not all options as there were once (before the reinstall) when I right click the icon in the task bar firefox ("Enter private browsing," "open new tab" etc..).
As in this same question posted here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/943198?esab=a & as = aaq
I checked the Userchrome.css file and does not exist. In the properties of the start menu "store and view these options... '. ' has been verified (unchecked and recontroler). Also mucked the subject: config with specific options mentioned in the link above and nothing (all are now by default). I don't know if some extensions can cause problems with this, but I currently have stumbleupon and Personas Plus, NoScript, AdBlockPlus (which if I'm not mistaken were all on before reinstalling windows). Even just reinstalled firefox just on the off chance that he can fix it, but unfortunately it didn't.
It seems to be fixed, I guess that since the last update. I've updated a day or two ago, I forgot to check for it, but it's working now.

Permit private browsing, but it is disabled in the options and I don't want
I've updated to 5 FF yesterday and when I rebooted, I am in private browsing mode. I did not allow it. In Options, it DO NOT activated. PV of the stop is grayed out. I deleted the file session.js. I don't want to use PV - I want my saved tabs back upward when I restart FF.
Is there a real fix for this in FF5, or can I go back to 3.6 or 4.1? If so, how?

Hello
I have this problem since Firefox 1.1 for iOS. I've updated to version 1.2 (1206) but the problem persists.
When I press the button "tabs count" on the upper right corner, the tabs preview screen with '+' button on the top right corner but THERE IS NOT button "incognito" on his left (it is only black box empty, do you need a screenshot?). Is this a bug or private browsing is not available yet for iOS?
If the private browsing feature is implemented, how can I activate it?
Thanks in advance!
I hope that Firefox will become my favorite browser on iOS too! Keep up the good work!EDIT: misspelling.
Hi spas123, thanks for your kind comments - as far as I know, the private in firefox navigation feature works only on devices with ios9...
