Problem application Archives newspapers

Hello

We are working on RHEL 5.7 DB Version 11.2.0.3

We do a test in order to restore a database from a different server backup

All goes well until restore us the database, when we try to "RECOVER DATABASE;" we'll always have a media failure because rman is waiting for a newspaper archive more than those we have:
RMAN> recover database;

Starting recover at 11-MAY-12
allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
channel ORA_DISK_1: SID=513 device type=DISK

starting media recovery

archived log for thread 1 with sequence 70149 is already on disk as file /backup/oracle/fast_recovery_area/DB11/archivelog/2012_05_11/o1_mf_1_70149_7ttnrxnn_.arc
archived log file name=/backup/oracle/fast_recovery_area/DB11/archivelog/2012_05_11/o1_mf_1_70149_7ttnrxnn_.arc thread=1 sequence=70149
unable to find archived log
archived log thread=1 sequence=70150

As you can see, journal archived with sequence 70150 being however should this file does not exist

Could someone explain to me why - this happenning? Please let me know if more information is needed

expected behavior

documentation:

«Oracle recovery makes incompatible consistent backups while reading all archived * and online redo logs *, beginning with the CPN first in one of the headers of data file and applying changes to the newspapers in the data files.»

As you can see, journal archived with sequence 70150 being however should this file does not exist

70150 sequence is not archived yet, its in the papers of restoration of the database where the backup was performed

New from the documentation:

"Full recovery implies the use of redo data or incremental backups, combined with a backup of a database, tablespace or data updated to the most recent file in time. It is called complete because Oracle applies all the changes roll forward contained in the archives * and newspapers online * for backup. "In general, you perform media complete recovery after a * media failure damages the data files or the fichier.* command.

When you perform a test restore/recovery on a test server, just do an incomplete recovery
now that 70149 sequence has been applied, open the database:

alter database open resetlogs;

and you're done
once more, his behavior expected

  • Archived newspapers and Flash recovery

    Hello
    in 10g R2, what is the relationship between archived newspapers and Flash recovery?
    I have logs archived here:

    P:\oracle\product\10.2.0\flash_recovery_area\MYDB\ARCHIVELOG\2008_11_02

    And also here:

    D:\base\MYDB\arch

    Are both the Sami? What is the difference? We need both of them?

    Here are my settings:
    SQL> archive log list
    Database log mode              Archive Mode
    Automatic archival             Enabled
    Archive destination            USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST
    Oldest online log sequence     297
    Next log sequence to archive   299
    Current log sequence           299
    SQL> show parameter log_archive_dest_1

    NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
    log_archive_dest_1                   string      LOCATION=D:\base\MYDB\arch
                                                      OPTIONAL REOPEN=300
    log_archive_dest_10                  string      LOCATION=USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_
                                                     DEST OPTIONAL REOPEN=300
    Thanks before.

    Newspaper Archives are written in several places because of parameter settings. However, if you look at the value, OPTIONAL string indicates that the archiving of these places is not mandatory. If the archiver is unable to create an archive to any of these places, instance always works without any problem.

    It is absolutely mandatory that the archiver must be able to create an archive in one of the locations (if there is not both).

    What is the value to LOG_ARCHIVE_MIN_SUCCEED_DEST (default is 1)?

    If you do not need two of them, you can stop archiving to a specific location with ALTER SYSTEM.

    Since the download of Firefox 4, I have problems of archiving gmail conversations since my Inbox view (one or more conversations) as it says 'No. Conversations selected' when I selected one or more. Also, when I go to enter a new event in google calendar, I have to click the cursor in the field type of the event (it used to let me just start typing) or else he bends and begins to jump to the day view or another month. Does anyone know how to fix one of these?

    I had this problem; But while trying to solve another problem, I reset my preferences for Firefox and it fixed this problem as well. To reset the preferences, follow this link: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Resetting%20preferences

  • Two copies of archive newspapers with one sense

    Hello

    On a 11g database, I got only defined flash_recovery_area. When set to log mode archive, planned only a copy of archive newspapers produced in the defined location of USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST, but there is another copy so obtained in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory. How to explain this? and how to DISABLE the second copy to produce?

    Thanks for any help

    It's how 11g install sets up the destination archive initially after the database is created using s/n.

    What you can do is to go to the settings of recovery in Enterprise Manager. You will notice that the number 1 destination of the journal Archive is set to usr/oracle11g/R1/dbs/arch number 10 is set to USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST

    Delete the number 1 entry (leave it blank). Apply the settings. This will force Oracle to log only flash_recovery_area.

    To check if your database has been opened with the reset logs option, you can check the alertlog file of the database and you can also check it from view of v$ database.

  • Stolen security problem applications.

    I have a problem with the IE browser with hotmail (as well as other applications that are open) being stolen.  It only happens in a few minutes to insert a flash drive on a public computer and with broadband.  I scanned the disc flash with security essentials and moy.  I manually checked all files, .dll and .exe and nothing seems out of the ordinary.  I have to immediately go in and change the password to something very intense otherwise hotmail is hijacked, the password changed, so I can't get in, and e-mail list gets email Sales.  Any idea what's going on, what to look for and how to deal with this?  He happenned several times a week for several months.

    Please note that sometimes not all the time.  It's as if someone has to be waiting on the other end.  It doesn't happen more than once a day.  I'm guessing that there is some sort of "marker" on the flash drive.  Come to think of it, it does not is it on public compouters with win 7, vista or XP.  He also, only happens to a place so far (I use public computers in other places).

    Hello

    You have formatted the FlashDrive as suggested in my previous post?

    Your hypothesis is right, there might be a virus file (spyware) that is causing the problem and the antivirus applications are unable to find it.

    I'm newbie DBA and struggling to get the solution. Google but could not find any exact solution I can't risk my DBs Production. No help from this professional forum Oracle would be great.

    How to get the above missing sequence in the standby and get synchronized with the primary?

    Kind regards

    Ritu

    Yes... what appears to be the case.

    You can also use the following to check:

    list backup of archivelog sequence = 23636;

    and it should return a message like "specification does not backup.

    It looks like an incremental backup will be your best bet.

  • Physical standby Archive newspapers vs

    Hi all

    11 GR 2

    Rhel6.5

    I'm confused how archivelogs be appied physical standby.

    CASES1:

    Assuming I backup my primary Db with RMAN full backup now.,

    then question crosscheck backup and delete obsolete. It will remove all archivelogs not yet taken to the waiting?

    CASE2:

    Right now my database pending is on a mode "real apply", so updates to the primary level is done directly on the eve as well, even if the archive logs have not yet carried.

    Assuming that I will delete archive records at the primary level, such that it cannot carry, will be the sleep EEG 'gaps' in its Archives logs status?

    Your comments are appreciated hightly.

    Can this work? Archived journal apply?

    The archived logs are not archived log backup. Just the archived log.

    Maybe we should go trough RECOVER the DATABASE after replication?

    Backups are since last Sunday and archived newspaper yesterday (Monday, April 27).

  • Applying archived newspapers again to duplicate db

    Hi all

    Oracle 9.2.0.4 on Solaris 8

    I was just wondering how to go about enforcement archived redo logs from my primary to my double after that I already ran the duplicate?

    Dual is:
    duplicate target database < DB >;

    This goes to 01:00 finishes around 04:00, but the user has some data in the main BC they want to put in the db in double and I don't want to reproduce the PB all once again, because it takes more than 3 hours and they can not wait...

    All entries are appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Jamie CC,.

    In general, once the database has been opened with resetlogs that you cannot restore forward again.

  • Location of MX 8 archived newspapers

    What is happening in the log files when you click on the action of newspaper archive under log files in the company administrator?
    Before 8 MX, the log file was copied into a file with a file name number and left in the logs folder. MX8 which is not the case so the action of archive is not working or the file that is set elsewhere.

    May be worth it, see here:
    http://www.Adobe.com/support/ColdFusion/downloads_updates.html

    Somehow, I doubt that this feature was broken in 8.0... but you never know.

  • ASM actively to avoid hot spots and make copies of archived newspapers?

    Hi all

    I have two small question, I hope.

    1 ASM avoid hot spots of rebalancing active files, or the re - balance does when records are added and deleted? I believe that ASM is not "actively" hot spots in this way, simply avoids through its design, i.e. striping of files/entries across all the LUNS in a disc of the group, but need to confirm my manager.

    2 using external redundancy, ASM does make copies of the archived redo logs?

    Thank you
    Stuart

    ASM avoids implicitly "hotspots" using the SAME methodology to strip everything on all the disks in the disk group, you are the answer is Yes. A rebalancing operation is necessary when the disks are added or removed from the disk group, if the number of disks does not change then the files will be always balanced on these discs (hope makes sense).

    External redundancy faces ASM does nothing with the creation of redundant copies of all files, external redundancy means that you use RAID protection at the level of storage (e.g. RAID1), so ideally all data written to the asm disks is reflected at the level of storage on redundant disks in the RAID group. With external redundancy, the only way ASM will write two copies of a newspaper to check is if you tell the database to write in two places on ASM disks.

  • Problem application code "clickTAG"

    I was told that my click through URL's embedded in my file.  The seller to whom I send my flash file uses what is called "Dart" apparently.  Currently, my code to make my link button to a Web page is on its own layer and looks like this:

    myButton.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, myButtonFunction);

    function myButtonFunction(event: MouseEvent) {}

    var request: URLRequest = new URLRequest ("http://www.oldsecond.com");

    navigateToURL (request);

    }

    But the seller told me the following:

    The button should include the variable with the next click "clickTAG" set up correctly.  Please note that "clickTAG" is case-sensitive.  It should look exactly like this:

    on (release) {}

    getURL (clickTAG, "_blank");

    }

    But when I click on my button, I get the dreaded "current selection cannot have actions applied to it."
