Problem controller Wizard ActiveX CVI 9.0

Assistant Controller ActiveX in CVI 9.0 seems limited to 37 characters max function names, while the help file suggests that they should be limited to 79 characters.

It's a shame, because I'm currently trying to create a fp of controller for an ActiveX control with more than 1600 functions, whose names are now all too long. Previous versions of the ICB were able to create the fp (for other versions of the same control) that without difficulty.

Is it possible to a fix for this? Why the change in the first place?

Hey Martin,

While I don't have an explanation of how this can happen on your machine, the remedy is easy.  Start by opening a few .fp file - it is not really important which - and then go to the Options > file FP Format menu.  Here, you will want to set the default new File Format 5.5 to 8.5.  These two options will give you the maximum of 79 characters.

      • It takes to open your FINDER app and go to: (you can copy this shortcut and spent in the FINDER)
    /Applications/Logic Pro X.app/Contents/Frameworks/MACore.framework/Versions/A/Resources/MIDI Device Scripts/
    • Then find the ROLAND directory and delete all the files of your A - 49 controller - files like ".device";
    • You can save before deleting, just in case you need
    • If you programmed some ASSIGNMENTS for the A - 49 controller, you won't have to program them.

    Another thing you should check is baud rate.  The ESP301 by USB is expected than the baud rate to 921600.  The function for OpenComConfig() group implies that it does not support this baud rate setting, but it seems to work perfectly.

  • asynchronuous functions do not work in a c# used by CVI application dll

    Hello

    I have an application written with CVI 9.0.1, who must interact with a dll c# 2010 (which has no window) through a CVI<->wrapper .net (created with the controller of the CVI useful .net).

    This c# dll uses the functions asynchronuous, as NetworkStream.BeginRead () and EndRead() of an object of System.Net.Sockets.TcpClient for example.

    These asynchronuous functions work very well when the c# dll is used by a c# application (with a main window) or the c# dll is converted into a stand-alone c# program (having a window with buttons, call its methods, just to try), but asynchronuous functions do not work when my c# dll is called by my CVI application (which is my goal) : execution remains inside the NetworkStream.BeginRead () for example (for the concerned thread).

    NetworkStream.BeginRead () can be bypassed successfully by using the function alternator NetworkStream.Read () instead, but the c# dll uses any other asynchronuous functions which have no associated alternator function.

    Here's some c# code (I don't have the source code of the Snmp object; got_trap() method is never called when asynchonuous calls do not work):

    public void run() / / wire

    {

    SNMP snmp = null;

    Try

    {

    SNMP = new Snmp (true);

    SNMP. NotifyListenPort = 162;

    SNMP. NotifyRegister (null, null, new NotifyCallback (got_trap), CB_DATA_);

    isActive = true;

    Timeout.Infinite;

    }

    ...

    }

    Thinking it might be a problem with the window messages that could not be processed (in the c# dll), I tried to replace the Timeout.Infinite statement in the code where the management of asynchronuous are held, by a creation of window over my loop of messages in Win32 window, but asynchronuous functions do not work better (while my loop seems to process messages successfully) :

    Form myForm = new Form(); an empty window

    myForm.Show ();

    int bRet;

    MSG msg = new MSG();

    While ((bRet = GetMessage (out msg, IntPtr.Zero, 0, 0))! = 0)

    {

    If (bRet == - 1).

    {

    handle the error and possibly out

    }

    on the other

    {

    Switch (msg.message)

    {

    default: / / everything else

    TranslateMessage (Ref msg);

    DispatchMessage (Ref msg);

    break;

    }

    }

    }

    Any idea?

    Thank you

    rvfr.

    Solved: in fact, the Assembly of snmp I used just need to be registered dotNet.

  • Return incorrectly ActiveX control wrapper function

    Hi all

    Thank you for taking the time to read and respond (I hope).

    I work with an instrument driver that I created from a control ActiveX the ActiveX controller Wizard.  However, I have a function that does not return one of his arguments, but he will return to the other.  See below.

    The goal is to open a device called the EV2300.  GetFreeBoards() should return the number of devices (plates) found and the names of the rooms.  He finds and returns the number of thin devices (2 If two devices are connected, 1 if a connected device and 0 when no devices are connected), but where it does not return the names.  The character array passed as reference remains empty and no error is reported.

    char msgStr[256];
    char *BrdName;
    ERRORINFO error;
    CAObjHandle EV2300_Handle;
    int returnVal;
    long nBrdsFound = 0;

    mainpanel = LoadPanel (0, "TE_User_Interface.uir", MAIN_PANEL);

    GetObjHandleFromActiveXCtrl (mainpanel, MAIN_PANEL_BQ80XRW, &EV2300_Handle);

    BrdName = msgStr;

    returnVal = BQ_EV2300_GetFreeBoards (EV2300_Handle, &error, 16, &nBrdsFound, &BrdName);

    The wrapper function generated by the wizard:

    HRESULT CVIFUNC BQ_EV2300_GetFreeBoards (CAObjHandle objectHandle,                                         ERRORINFO *errorInfo,                                         long nNumBrdsToGet, long *nNumBrds,                                         char **listBrdNames){   HRESULT __result = S_OK;  unsigned int __paramTypes[] = {CAVT_LONG, CAVT_LONG | CAVT_BYREFI,                                   CAVT_CSTRING | CAVT_BYREFI};

     __result = CA_MethodInvokeEx (objectHandle, errorInfo, &BQ_IID_EV2300_,                                 0x7, CAVT_EMPTY, NULL, 3, __paramTypes,                               nNumBrdsToGet, nNumBrds, listBrdNames);

       return __result;}

    Using the same controller configuration and hardware ActiveX in VB6 works perfectly: the name of the EV2300 is returned, and I can't continue to use in other functions:

    Dim Bq80xRW1 As Bq80xRW
    Dim BrdName As String
    Dim nBrdsFound As Long

    Bq80xRW1.GetFreeBoards 16, nBrdsFound, BrdName

    Any ideas what I could do wrong?

    Something is definitely wrong, because the last two parameters are the two output parameters and yet they are being defined as input parameters. So either the ActiveX control has bad IDL inside or the ActiveX controller Assistant made a mistake.

    You might try a little experiment by changing two CAVT_BYREFI references in the table of __paramTypes to CAVT_BYREFO to see if that makes a difference. Rationale: for strings, CA_MethodInvokeEx has probably convert c type a BSTR string for the input parameters and BSTR chain C for output parameters. Though she doesn't think that a parameter is an output parameter, my guess is that it probably don't back conversion. For long (which are a native type of ActiveX) should not do all the conversions.

  • CVI executable causes an on update of Windows 10 anniversary 0xC0000005 Access Violation.

    Created executables always causes an Access Violation (0xc0000005 exception) to the closing period on Windows 10 RS1 (update of the anniversary).

    This problem occurs in LabWindows CVI 2015 and 2015 SP1.

    How to reproduce: simple program to create and compile with the (x 86) release profile by default.

    for example:

    #include "test.h".

    int ph;

    int __stdcall WinMain (HINSTANCE hInstance, HINSTANCE hPrevInstance,
    LPSTR lpszCmdLine, int nCmdShow)
    {
    If (InitCVIRTE (hInstance, 0, 0) == 0)
    Returns - 1; / * memory * /.

    pH = LoadPanel (0, "test.uir", group of EXPERTS);
    DisplayPanel (ph);
    RunUserInterface();

    return 0;
    }

    int CVICALLBACK CallExit (int, int int event, control panel,
    void * callbackData, int eventData1, int eventData2)
    {
    switch (event)
    {
    case EVENT_COMMIT:
    QuitUserInterface (0);
    break;
    }
    return 0;
    }

    The problem is visible on the control panel > reliability history > Error Reporting:

    Also the code of the executable file (exit code) is always 0xc0000005 instead of zero.

    To check out more easily code can be called the executable through file .bat:

    off @echo
    Test.exe
    echo ExitCode = %ERRORLEVEL%
    pause

    I have observed that if multiple instances of the same program are running, only block when the last instance is closed. It seems that the problem occurs at the time that the CVI runtime is released from the ram. (The latter is only a guess)

  • PC (Win7 64 bit) freezes completely after some time due to the CVI 9.0.1 32-bit application: question in cvirte.dll

    I have a strange problem with my app CVI. After a while, no constant time (especially on a day or two), the PC freezes completely when running my application. Examine the system event logs, I see a lot of entries from the CVI, sometimes 8fois per second!

    Above all, it looks like the following:

    The description for event ID 0 in source CVI could not be found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

    If the event is on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

    The following information has been included in the event:

    [14:18:42.389] [GetLWMessage] [FATAL] [.. \jsource\jn_msgs.c:672 assertion failure]: WRONG (error in the message handler: code #12689 unknown message received)

    Although the system event log is set to a size of 20 MB only and the fact that it is automatically overwrite (FIFO) itself, the PC won't be able to do in the face of this large amount of entries in line waiting.

    I searched the internet but found absolutely no clue. I searched then through my code using find in files and finally only found the following within the cvirte.dll sequence when you use "*." "*" as file extension filter:

    .. \jsource\jn_msgs.c ConvertMsgText error in the message Manager: unknown message code #% ld received GetLWMessage

    Why exactly what the system event log tells me. I wonder that there are some things Java in a related CVI runtime dll

    Know someone, any idea how I can fix this problem?

    I tried to run my application using WinXP SP3 compatibility mode, but this did not help.

    I'll try to refine the question. I will also try to recompile my application using CVI2015

    The application does not generally crushed. There are different configurations of my tool where he works a lot of days. So, I have to determine the exact circumstances. Also there is no memory leak, so does not unnecessarily increase consumption of RAM during execution.

    Any help much appreciated

    Thanks and greetings

    Hi Kyle,.

    Thanks for your response!

    In the meantime, I managed to solve the problem. Checked the date and version of the DLL runtime on the target PC, I found that they differ runtime DLLS that have been installed with my application using the distribution kit. After the reinstallation of the application, there was more no new error event log entries, so this solves the problem :-)

    Only, I wonder where these DLLs from...

  • String ActiveX Server property

    Hello world

    I am developing an application using LabWindows/CVI 8.1 on a machine WinXPSP3. To enable easy automation of functions in my application, I decided to add an ActiveX Server interface to my request and the first tests look very promising. However, after I introduced a property of type string to my ActiveX Server I get a strange error when the get method is called by the customer. The code generated automatically from the ActiveX server receives the application string and converts it to a BSTR that is returned to the client. The string pointer returned by the demand function is converted to this type BSTR and later in auto genereated the string pointer is freed with a call to CA_FreeMemory (). Generally that it works fine but when I run my application in mode Debug execution is interrupted at this point (even when there is no breakpoint) and the debug window displays the following message:

    Heap [application_debug.exe]: invalid address specified to RtlFreeHeap (00140000, 027995E0)

    In fact, the allocated memory is not released.

    I have generated a small sample project that reproduces the issue. The error occurs in autotest_axs.c on line 71, a breakpoint is set for convenience. The attached VI LabVIEW is used to serve the client ActiveX and makes the necessary calls to reproduce the effect. Simply build the CVI project in debug mode and start the VI during execution of the implementation of the CVI.

    At the moment I don't think I'm doing something wrong, maybe everyone at OR has an idea.

    Thanks in advance!

    Torsten

    In the AutotestApplicationget_String function in the autotest.c file, you should use the function library ActiveX CVI CA_AllocateMemory to allocate memory for the string. Instead, you use the ANSI C malloc function. This affected memory is released later by calling CA_FreeMemory call to the CaSrvrAutotestApplicationget_String function in the autotest_axs.c file. It is allocated in the memory manager and deallocated in another.

    I'm unable to install Flash Player, download the installation file, but when I click on it and go through the screens, I find myself with "connection failed - try again" I have to do and get another window saying "Connection failed - Finish"... brings back me to the download page online

    OK, since no one is of assistance to you, lets make the manual installation

    1) go to this page:

    Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier versions

    At the bottom you will always see problems, download the activeX and NPAPI versions

    (2) then go to this page and download adobe uninstaller:

    Uninstall Flash Player for Windows

    (3) ensure that all browsers are closed and in executing following command

    the uninstall program

    and both offline installers or the order. If all goes well, which will solve your problem.

    I have it automated if you prefer. Just click on my name in these forums, click on my Web site, and then choose Browse all files, and you will see the BAT Version, that open and use the one for XP and more.

  • Registry during the installation of Flash Player problems

    Hi, first, sorry for the spelling errors, I'm Argentinian . I write here because I have tried MANY ways and solutions to install Flash Player for IE, here a few facts:

    I mainly use Google Chrome, which has the PC already installed, but I have a problem with the ActiveX control, I can install Flash player 11 for windows but not ActiveX... I read that it is a tool for IE, so I thought that I wouldn't be needing, but when I tried to run a program (game Ranger) he said I had need of ActiveX control and that I had not in my computer... So I started to search for solutions, etc etc, and ultimately abandon it because I just couldn't do it, but right now I did it again because I want to know if it's something important to have...

    The problem during the installation is the following: it starts to download the Flash Player... then install it and when it is at 51%, it stops and a message appears saying: registry error. It's what happens when I try to install ActiveX, not Flash Player itself, because as I said above I can install...

    All I want to know is if he remains the path to allow the installation of Flash Player change the values of registry... because I think that's the main problem... I think so. Thank you for reading.

    Edit: I forgot to say my system information.

  • FileSelectPopup hang with restrict extension option and the imaqGetFilterNames (.)

    Hi, I have a problem with FileSelectPopup suspended.  It happens when I limit the file extension in the pop up, and the user types a name with a different extension (for example, if I limit the file extension to "*.dat" and the user types "data.txt").  This causes the pop to "leader limited extension to...» "I get a wait cursor and I can't click on anything to make the pop-up go away that effectively blocks the application.  This happens on both the deployment of PC and my development workstation.  In the debugger when I hit the stop button indicates that the program is in the function FileSelectPopup (...).  Oddly enough, so far I only see this on PC under Windows 7 (64-bit, professional) while the computers Windows XP (deployment and development) not yet shown that it.

    After a while, I managed to follow him to the function imaqGetFilterNames (.).  If I call a (...) FileSelectPopup before calling the function imaqGetFilterNames (.) it behaves properly.  If I called him after that I call the function imaqGetFilterNames (.), then I get the hang.  I have attached a sample application.  To see the problem, click on the button 'Get the names of the filters', then click on the button "Generate FileSelectPopup" and enter a file name with a different extension that allowed such as "data.txt".  If the 'Get the names of the filters' button is not clicked first then the FileSelectPopup behaves normally.

    My development PC running CVI 2010 SP1 10.0.1 (419).  I have NEITHER-IMAQ 4.6.1, e/s NOR-IMAQ, NOR-IMAQdx 3.9.1, 2.5 NO Vision 10.0.  Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

    Thanks in advance for any help or pointers.

    It is a problem with the apartment thread style. As it is described here on MSDN, using a partition multithreaded model can cause problems with the Windows file dialog boxes. The FileSelectPopup function is essentially a wrapper autour windows file dialog boxes that help you with the different settings. So, if you use a partition multithreaded model, you can run into issues every time with the help of the CVI FileSelectPopup or one of the other windows file dialog boxes. In general, your request will be only to get ready to partition multithreaded if you call ActiveX, because all functions in the ActiveX CVI library initialize thread for partition multithreaded model. I'm not familiar with the vision software, but I suspect they are will make a call ActiveX or in any other way during the initialization of the threading model for bulkhead multithreaded. To avoid this deadlock, you can simply set the threading model for the single apartment of threads before calling the function IMAQ. at the beginning of the hand () is a good place. Once the threading model has been initialized, it is set in stone and cannot be changed. It's a good thing here because it prevents IMAQ function change to partition multithreaded.

    The beginning of hand () add the following:

    CA_InitActiveXThreadStyleForCurrentThread (0, COINIT_APARTMENTTHREADED);
