Problem desktop - desktop icons duplicated

original title: desktop problem

For some unknown reason, a second series of icons of desk top of page now appears on the right side of my screen with a 1.5 inch - wide column. Thus, active desktop is now above and to the left of this column. I tried to highlight and delete the unwanted column, but it will not highlight or remove. I also tried a system restore, but that does not solve the problem either.

So I guess it's an aspect of office (or Office reconfiguration) problem. Can someone tell me how to get rid of the second series of icons on the right hand side, so my active desktop back to the entire screen?
Thank you

  • Problem desktop icons, blue and referring to an application used to be on the SD card, but is no longer there

    Hello
I have this problem, my app box shows me two icons in blue, as the system icon, you know. These icons are the symbol of SD above. I click on them, and the message is that the app is not instaled. I made a return to the top and I formatted the SD card and made a SDMaid clean, to clear all the tracks off old apps but the icons still there and I don't know which app they belong
Do you know a solution for this?
    Thank you

    I found the solution! This!

If you still see these apps under settings-> Apps, try to uninstall them from there and see if that helps.

If you do not, go to settings-> Apps-> all-> House Xperia-> clear data-> OK and then reboot the phone. But be aware that this will reset your homescreen to the default settings.

  • Hilighting of the XP desktop icon problem (Special!: O)

    Hello

    The problem
Basically, the text on my desktop icons is black hilighted. even if I change the background color of Uni, the text is hilighted in black and the icons are hilighted selected color. I did everything the shadows litters, lock web icons ext. I don't have a web on my desktop icon to my desktop wallpaper show (see below) that says everywhere is the cause of the hilighting. It's certainly a strange case, but I was wondering if you could shed some light on my problem.
    A bit of history
A few months ago, I downloaded a skin for my laptop (and a patch of registry), everything works perfectly... until I noticed that my desktop background is gone. The problem was the patcher, because even if I use a different skin background disappeared. If I close my background shows explorer.exe. Today I did drag a picture on my desk and it creates a web item, my background shows, but the text is hilighted. If the web icon is removed the builds.
Hope that makes a bit of sense (I'm not terrible to descriptive writing)
    Thank you

Microsoft advised of is not "patch" as you did it.  A reinstallation of Windows XP would take you to a 'factory' as if you just bought a new camera.

I couldn't find recovery discs for Windows XP from the links you gave - the second was an error page.

However, the third link led me to this page which tells the story of PC Restore where you can reinstall your system.  It does not give a repair option that would let all your personal files intact but will restore the operating system to the original default settings.  Downstairs you will find a phone # contact technical support.  However, it can be a waste of time to ask about buying recovery CD because Windows XP is no longer sold or taken in charge by Microsoft and their store offers Windows 7 only.

Manual reinstall requires a CD/DVD.    I buy a recovery CD just in case there is yet a preinstalled on my unit recovery option.  If you can make your own from the link I mentioned earlier, it may be wise to do so.

  • Problem with desktop icons - odd images appearing

    Hello

I recently acquired a laptop Asus N61Vg which of course came with a Windows 7 Home Premium OEM. After using for most laptops and Windows 7 settings, and after I got rid of the bloatware, I started to do some graphics cards and performance tests. While I was measuring a few FPS in Left 4 Dead (not a fan of the game, I just wanted to test the graphics card, an Nvidia 220 M), the game froze and I had to close it with the "end task".

Subsequently, some of the desktop icons (some of them from the former programs) are displayed inside a frame, a very annoying. I tried fiddling with the usual settings and reinstall the graphics card driver. I even deleted the Cache icon (from my AppData folder) but the problem persists.

Since I only used the system for a few days, I can imagine there is a registry entry that I've screwed to the top or a setting that I modified. So it is either very simple and puts me in a bad light or whole enough to annoy me. Any suggestions?

    Fixed!

The problem is that most of the icons can only watch smoothly on a "small icons" view. I used the medium-sized icons. The game changed some of my settings, and resizing is affected. After some time switching between small - medium - large icons and reorganization, the problem went away, even after rebooting. I can't be sure, it will not resurface once again, but at least I can get rid of it if she didn't.

In short: RMB-> view-> small icons. RMB-> view-> medium-sized icons. Reorganize, restart. The effect may still appear then do this a few times, eventually passing through large icons as well.

  • Problem with desktop icons

A few times my icons are blurring.  Sometimes, some of them are missing.

This time, I have 3 icons about 15.

If I look into the records of all users desktop, all the icons are there.

    Hey Amos888,

Increase the size of your icon cache and see where it leads.

If this cache is too small, the desktop icons may display incorrectly or show the wrong program icons.

Step 1: Increase the size of the icon cache.

Important: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following windows Help article.

    Back up the registry

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

    1. go to start and type regedit.exe.

    2. navigate to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer.

    3. now, create a DWORD value called Max Cached Icons and set the value to 4096.

    4. close the registry editor.

    5 restart the computer.

If the problem continues, check if a third of service or application is causing this problem.

Step 2: Perform the clean boot

Study the behavior of the icons when the computer is in clean boot state.

Refer to this article for more information on how to do it.

  • problems with my moving desktop icons on the left side

I also have problems with my icons on the desktop from the left side - which BTW, I liked, at the center of the screen.

I bought a new Toshiba laptop which has windows 8 and I hate it. I'm sure it's windows 8, which is causing problems, not on the computer, but I'm * to have so many problems and it was not yet 14 days since I've owned this thing. • Why, suddenly, my desktop icons are difficult to align because they can be moved very small distances?

For years, my desktop icons have acted as if they have so many 'slots' to enter in on the office. But this has never been a problem. They were easier to align because they were right next to each other, or a 'slot' above/below/apart.

Now, for some reason, I can travel distances of small icons on the desktop, as if they were scalar elements which can be minimally pushed open. Suddenly there are not more "slots", and sort of paradoxically icons are more difficult to assemble and align because I have to keep their repositioning so that they are straight. Before, they were either straight, or a whole notch offline.

It is NOT correct. Right-click and select Show , and then turn on Align

    Hi markyb208,

I'm not sure what you have a problem with Firefox.

Are you talking about icons on your Windows 7 desktop. In a standard installation, Firefox will try to add an icon on the desktop, but it shouldn't do something to remove the icons.
