Problem importing text

I'm trying to import text into Muse. I converted a Word document to a doc. txt, but it will not be imported correctly. Quote points, dashes, etc. are imported as capital N or O, with an accent above. For example, the following paragraph comes out like the one below.

"We started with was in fact intended 10bhp and 10kg, but then engineers began to do their homework and we realized that we could go further." We were pleasantly surprised to find more power - and because we were reorganizing the whole engine we have not just designed to achieve the objective, we have designed an engine that makes the best ever use technology in a 1200cc twin engine.

OLE target, we started with was done 10bhp and 10kg, but then the engineers began to do their homework and we realized that we could go further. We were pleasantly surprised to find more power N and because we were reorganizing the motor Assembly we did just not designed to achieve this goal, we have designed an engine that makes the best ever use technology in a 1200cc twin engine.

Any ideas please?

Word saves the text using so-called encoding platform. Muse expects the text to be encoded in Unicode (UTF-8). Most modern applications fully supports Unicode, but the word seems to be late in this regard. If you save the text in a file .txt from Word, and then open in TextEdit (on Mac) or Notepad (on Windows), you can re - register from there and specify the Unicode UTF-8 encoding.

  • Text - box height problem tool text & confusion

    Hello

    I struggled to solve a problem of text box in my layout of phone.  I have a box of text at the bottom of the page.  The lower edge of the text box touches the top of the footer area.  If I drag the center of the bottom of the text just below box handle of the text, so that no blue dashed line appears in the text box, it looks good in Muse, but when I download and watch the page on my iPhone, there is an empty space under the text (in addition to the footer area).  If, however, I drag the bottom of the text box so that the dashed blue line is a few lines above the bottom of the text, then the text appears correctly on the iPhone.

    I'm not clear on what this broken blue horizontal line in means of text area, other than the height of the text and the box do not match.  It seems not important since the text is displayed even if the box is theoretically too short.  Perhaps someone can explain what that broke horizontal line way and if it's a problem if it appears in the text box.

    Now, for the confusion, I just today created some paragraph Styles so that I can be sure that my pages are compatible.  It seems that the text box can be sized before applying a paragraph Style, dashed blue line disappeared - no extra space below the text on the iPhone.  Once I applied the paragraph Style, that extra space will appear unless I reduce the text box.  I checked and the paragraph Style has no padding, leading etc., normal.  The footer area is not checked.

    I did a few tests, and the problem is not related to the text box on the top of the footer area.  I inserted another test text box under the "problem" box, and the problem persists - extra space unless I have shorten the height of the text box.  I think it has to do with my paragraph Style, but I don't see what is the cause.  I must emphasize that the other text boxes have the same applied paragraph Style and they don't have any extra space under the text.

    Thanks for any help.

    John

    I don't think that your "get extra space." Rather, I suspect the text block is high and narrow, and the text it contains is much shorter in the browser that it appears in Design view in Muse because of differences in the line breaks in the text. It is quite common when using "web safe" fonts and is also true when you view websites in different browsers, browser versions, devices or versions of operating system because of the differences in text layout engines used and available fonts on the device. It is especially common in text frames narrow tall.

    The most effective way to reduce the effect is to use a Web font rather than a 'web safe' police, which will reduce the variation of the layout of the text between the browsers, but ultimately you need to design, with the variations of line in mind, because they are not entirely avoidable. In your case this means that the block of text sizing for minimum height (as indicated by the dotted line) is shorter than the text as it appears in Design view, so when line breaks changes the block of text is reduced in height, rather than leave a space blank at the bottom.

  • Import text objects, editing in artificial intelligence, by copying the interactions, etc.

    First of all, I would like to congratulate the Flash Catalyst team and the work that they have done so far. He is off to a very good start, and I can't wait for the finished product. A little history: I am currently working on the design of user interface for a software tool. I am running CF on Snow Leopard (MacBook Pro with 3 GHz/4 GB RAM). I was looking for something to take my design of the Illustrator, bring it to life in a working prototype, circulate comments and eventually pass on to developers to use as a reference (they write C++ in Visual Studio). I have just a few questions/requests/bugs to appear:

    (1) when I import text from Illustrator objects, Flash Catalyst is unable to maintain the base changes. Am I missing something? I read that unique features for CF gave priority, and this other standard options formatting in Illustrator or Photoshop would follow in future versions. Is - that one of these options (as well as stroke, masks of clipping, etc.) that will eventually be supported? Or do I have to submit it as a feature request?

    (2) in addition, it seems that the grid of the CF is not as many pixels as the grid to HAVE it. When I import small objects that correspond to the guides, they become blurred - it's like fitting 10 people on 9 chairs. The gaps and overlaps appear. This will be reconciled in later versions? Or do I have to submit a feature request for this?

    (3) when I select a group of objects and click Edit > edit in Adobe Illustrator CS4, a dialog box appears with the title "Edit in Adobe Illustrator. Here's an exclamation point in a bubble and text "Selection of editing in Adobe Illustrator... ». The problem is, the box never goes away, and nothing happens in Illustrator. Am I missing something? Is this a bug? This feature works for other people?

    (4) I read about this elsewhere, but I have not found a concise answer. CF does support the copy of component interactions? By example, if I copy and paste a custom component, or if I export a component library and then import it, it loses all of its defined interactions. Is there a work around? Or plans to implement?

    Hi Sponce,

    Thanks for the kind words. I'm going to dive into your questions:

    (1) catalyst should maintain base shifts to import. Our goal is a complete fidelity with the original work. If you publish a file HAVE that has this issue, I can file a bug (unless it's been fixed since Beta 2, which is quite possible - we made many improvements to import fidelity).

    Also, I wanted to clarify the thing you discover more complex "formatting options". WHEN you import the PS, or FXG, the work should appear exactly as it did in the original tool (modulo very small differences). However, catalyst can not supported the MODIFICATION of more sophisticated objects or properties (masks, complex gradients, paths, HAVE mesh warp, etc.).  This is where 'Edit in Illustrator': you can pop at work in to, make changes there and then back to FC.

    (2) this can happen in some cases:

    (A) the reader Flash has a rendering engine of different text that HAVE, this text may look different. If it is critical for you, you can choose to convert the text to outlines when importing text.

    (B) alignment of the pixels: I supports the investment object subpixel very accurate because it can produce for print (where pixel doesn't really count). However, these objects blurry when displayed on a computer screen (where import pixels). You can see this simply by drawing a rectangle in artificial intelligence at 100% zoom. Objects in CF should be aligned with the boundaries of the pixels because it generates exclusively to a computer monitor. When you import and manipulate the work CF it automatically snaps to pixel boundaries. That's good because your fuzzy rectangle will become blurred, but it is not very good because small tedious objects seem not quite right.

    (3) your work should appear in Illustrator, ready to be edited. In Beta 2, it is only supported with Illustrator CS4. What version do you have?

    (4) it is not supported, and we do not have a proposal or plans to support. You must submit your proposal on the ideas site: http://ideas.adobe.com/labs

    (5) is not supported, but it is a good idea, so you should put it on the site of ideas. You can encode up to this behavior in Flash Builder, but you'll have to dive into coding.

  • Problem of text selection in the text field for entry in the emulator

    I'm having a problem of text selection in a text field when I run my application in the emulator Playbook. Let me see if I can expose the problem here:

    1. The field in question is a classic text, text with an integrated in police entry field. The domain is in a SWC and referenced in another FILE.
    2. The code is set up such that when a user clicks the field function is called to highlight all the text. The code is more or less as follows:
    thisField.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onFieldClick);

    private function onFieldClick(event:MouseEvent):void
    {
       var selectedField:TextField = event.target as TextField;
       selectedField.setSelection(0, selectedField.text.length);
    }

    The problem I'm having is that when I try clicking on the emulator, the text field in 'domain' is sometimes selected as expected, sometimes not. When the text is not selected as expected the cursor always appears in the field and the Playbook keyboard slides up by below. What is particularly problematic, that's what often happens, is that the whole scene moves upward on 10px when it is clicked on the ground. If I try to click on the same ground once again, another change to the top of 10px or so, etc..

    So why the text not properly selected and why the scene evolves upwards?

    I realize that more information may be required from me to correctly solve this problem, but if someone has all understand why this may be the case, I would be happy to learn from him.

    Thank you

    David

    I can answer the question of displacement.  This is a bug in BB and supposed to be fixed in version «next» SDK

    The question of the selection, I'll guess has to do with the fileld with focus, selection is not possible.  Try to set the focus outside of maybe the text field?

    in the sourcemonitor, I see the videotrack.

  • Don't know how to fix a problem of text

    Don't know how to fix a problem of text? Somewhat of a novice to this just and kept copying and pasting text boxes. now that I'm done and am trying to export to a PDF file I get the error text. How can I fix it... in simple terms, please

    Red + the way there is more text than is view - or overset text.  You can extend the text box to enable all to show, or create another text box and pour the rest in that one.

    Sometimes if you don't know that there is no more text, it's maybe a return which InDesign thinks that there is no more.

  • Problems importing files HAVE in flash

    Hey there,

    I ve you have an urgent problem, import of illustrator in flash files.

    Curved lines are moved with the corners in Flash!

    Take a look at the picture below:

    smooth outlines left side - not straight lines just right with corners Béziers

    When I import directly from I to AE I ve got no problem at all.

    Could you please help?

    Cool! Good news. I was able to reproduce it and immediately knew why you experience this problem when it imported into Flash. The original image (which is optimal btw) is pretty small scale. So I have it furred about 3 x in the file, saved and then imported into Flash again. The lines look much much better. Flash is not only to make the curves as well when they are really small.

  • Bizarre arrow "glyphs" when importing text

    Hello!

    I'm importing text in InDesign CS4 by placing:

    Screen Shot 2014-08-14 at 10.28.07.png

    (I know I lack of police, who is replaced by what - I really don't care that I will replace with a Helvetica World police)

    And when the Helvetica World changes I get this:

    Screen Shot 2014-08-14 at 10.19.29.png

    I tried to import the WordDoc as. RTF or .doc - the results are the same.

    I also use plug-ins-Indicplus.

    Is it possible to find and remove in find/replace?

    Thank you!

    In fact, they do not disappear to deactivate the nonprinting characters. I noticed that pasting the text even TextEdit (raw mode) sweeps the arrows - it's a fairly tedious solution works.

  • Import text data into text with script level file fields

    I use Adobe 9 professional and have a level of javascript file import text into the existing fields of a pdf document.

    There are several fields with multiple lines of data to import.

    The folder level script does not work (but there is no error in the console showing when operating)

    I manually tested the file opening text with the following code in the console and the text file opens and fills text fields, so the text file must be correct:

    this.importTextData ();

    The following code is the folder level script that does not work:

    function mailmergeFunction()

    {

    Import the first line of data of "Mailmerge.txt".

    this.importTextData ("of/h/mailing/Jo Smith Things / Mailmerge.txt", 0)

    If (typeof cnt == 'undefined') cnt = 0;
    this.importTextData ("of/h/mailing/Jo Smith Things / Mailmerge.txt", cnt ++ % 4)

    }

    app.trustedFunction (mailmergeFunction);

    app.addToolButton ({cName: "Mailing", cExec: "mailmergeFunction ()", cTooltext: "Mailing", cEnable: true, NPO: 14});

    If anyone can please provide assistance, it will be more appreciated thanks.

    Try using an app.beginPriv () just before the importTextData statement and a statement of app.endPriv () afterwards. Don't forget to restart Acrobat after you change the JavaScript file.

  • Problem with text Photoshop with OSX Mavericks on Macbook Pro

    I have a frustrating problem with Photoshop on my Macbook Pro. "I can enter text without any problem, but the minute I try to edit it, resize, change font or color the totallt disappears and the layer name back to ' layer x" (whatever number it is). This problem has appeared since the upgrade to the Mavericks of OSX, but only on my Macbook Pro... he can't on my iMac 27 "that is running the same OS.

    I totally uninstalled all my CC Apps on Mackbook Pro, reinstalled Photoshop CC, same problem.

    I uninstalled CC again and reinstalled Photoshop CS6, same problem.

    This is despite having run the software without problem before.

    The Macbook Pro is a model in early 2010, has only 256 graphics... so can't run the CC 3D option, but there 8gig of ram... the only difference between the Macbook Pro and iMac in terms of specs is the format of different graphics card. (iMac is late 2012 latest version)

    The problem is I am a teacher and the Mackbook is my portable teaching... and I teach digital photography... so I must have Photoshop running.

    Any... other than total sugguestons clean reinstallation of the entire computer, that would be a total pain and extremely time-consuming.

    Turn off the speech recognition/dictation feature in MacOS 10, 9 - it causes problems for text editing.

  • Application of imported text styles

    Hi guys, im brazilliam sorry for bad English, but I have an awnser

    I Diagram a guide business , they have something called a sign (letreiro) , this sign has 3 lines. The first line is entirely capital, and the third is standard, the second is compressed.

    what I want not know is so have means of import text (normally we have some 400 sign, 1200 lines) in the 6 InDesignand automate the style for these lines 3

    Is something like this:

    heart-vintage-seamless-pattern.jpg

    this method would be facilitate a LOT for me

    Thank you

    Your English is very good - much better than my Portuguese

    There are several ways to do so. One way is to simply import all the text normally. Make three paragraph styles and set the Style in each of them. So FirstLine has the next Style of say, say the next Style of dictations and dictated was the next first line Style. Select all text at once, then click the first name of style in the paragraph Styles Panel, and then click "Apply FirstLine, then next Style."

  • Import text from a txt file.

    Hey guys,.

    I'm looking for a way to import text from a .txt file, but I'm totally lost. If someone could point me in the right direction would be great

    Hi Prails
    This script is basically what you asked:

    #target illustrator

    main #targetengine

    function copyText() {}

    text var file is File.openDialog ('select file');.

    If (! textFile.exists | app.documents.length == 0) {}

    return;

    };

    textFile.open ("r");

    var txtContent = textFile.read ();

    textFile.close ();

    var doc = app.activeDocument;

    var textItem = doc.textFrames.add ();

    textItem.contents = txtContent

    };

    copyText ();

    Basically what you need to do is to declare the text file, open, read and close it. Then, you create a new text element in the Illustrator document and write content once caught in the text element.

    You can continue to work with the variable 'textItem' in my example script if you want to set properties such as size, text color, position and so on. Also, if you wish, replace the first line of the function var textFile = new file ("" ~ / Desktop/Test.txt ' "); textFile var = File.openDialog ("select the file"); so the script opens a dialog box asks you the file you want to copy the content.

    Hope to be helped

    Best regards

  • Problem importing sequences in AE CS5.5

    I'm having problems importanting "avi" video of my Vado HD in AE CS5.5 - playback of videos very well in Windows Media Player, but when they are imported into After Effects the clip is grey and only the audio track is available. I do not understand the problem because the codec must be installed for the Media Player read the files and I checked this by loading the film into GSpot with this result: Codec H264. The name of H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. Installed. Really hope someone can help me with this.

    I think you might be out of luck on this one... It is flavor H.264 hardware acceleration, intel, that AE has obviously never been decoded. I checked on CS3. There might be some active DLL, you can install intel themselves who can solve the problem, but I could not find in the shortness of the time. So that leaves a lot of external conversion as your only option. After passing through one of the tools, I mentioned it opens fine in AE...

  • Import Text Styles vs

    Hi guys,.

    I pretend to work nice and tidy with text. I decided to work with paragraph Styles, as much as I can. I'll use

    Police: Mercury text

    Size: 10.5 pt

    Attack: 13 leading

    Font style: ordinary

    However, the word file has not a consistent formatting Style and include various italics and "BOLD" fonts inside. If I import the text, I can select all and then apply the text of mercury that will allow me to keep my italics and bold. I can't do a paragraph style without attributing a regular/italic or bold style to the breast. Any paragraph Style will replace my imported bold italic and so on.

    Maybe there's a simple solution for this. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    SEBS

    Depending on what version - CS2, CS3, CS4 use Preservelocalformatting.jsx http://www.indesignsecrets.com/downloads/PreserveLocalFormatting.jsx

    Or PREPTEXT. JSX http://forums.adobe.com/thread/429756

    How

    http://InDesignSecrets.com/how-to-install-scripts-in-InDesign.php

    With regard to the first link - copy the text into Notepad or TextWrangler (not word or another treatment) and save it with a .jsx file

    When you import text into InDesign, imeddiately run the script on the text. It will apply styles of characters for the text. Then, just apply your paragraph style.
