Problem importing to Indesign wordfile

Hello

I have a word with some pages file. But when I use the place command - to import the word in Indesign - only the first imports of 8 pages; and the rest will not work.
What is the problem and how to fix it?

Hi Mohammad,.

Is your block of text on the excesses of page 8 (red more icon on output port)?

If this is the case, you can have text that is too wide for the frame. Enlarge the image to see what the text, or you can use the story editor to see what is in excess. It is often a long string without spaces that cannot break on a line.

Kind regards

Malcolm

    Dear professional inDesign,

I have a problem with an InDesign Document. While opening, ID crashes down. I tried all the options in your HelpCenter, tried to open it in several applications, several Mac and PC. No luck. Is it possible to open it?

This document is quite important vor an architecture-projekt.

    Thank you very much!!!

    Greetings,

    Markus

I'm afraid that I'm not having luck-getting an error code 5 even after running the recovery tools, that I have. I open in a text editor and he was able to read some version information, or at least what resembles the version information, and it seems that it might have been converted from CS to CS2 to CS3, but when generating 443, which was the first production or the latest beta version (do not remember at this point) , but that doesn't help much.

At this point the only suggestion that I have left is the Markzware recovery service company paid: Bad InDesign or Quark File Recovery submission form

  • On 8 of Word and import in InDesign

    Hello

I used 8 Word to write the first draft of a book that I then "place" in Indesign to work of more elaborate page.

There is one thing that doesn't quite work for me and maybe there is a solution to this,

    Here it is:

In the work, I have quite a large number of images with text wrapping around them carefully.

When I import them they all break and it is no more packed text.

I know how to fix this problem manually, but there might be a way to avoid this.  Do you know of any?

Perhaps there is a dress up game that works well for the two programs of the text?

    Thank you

    Serge

Do not expect to inherit formatting from Word any layout in InDesign.

The best method would always be

    • to use Word as your word processor. Do not use Word formatting, use styles, but specify the formatting in InDesign.
    • not to use the images inlaid with Word, keep them separate and place them directly in InDesign

Word supports various image formats and different specifications than InDesign, this isn't the best way to use the Word embedded images.

Word is not a page layout program. Avoid frames and features available in the files to import into InDesign. That's what InDesign is designed for.

Many people find such problems with CS6 in El Capitan. There will be no update for CS6, it has reached its end of life.

You must go back to the previous version of the operating system, or upgrade to creative Clud.

Cool! Good news. I was able to reproduce it and immediately knew why you experience this problem when it imported into Flash. The original image (which is optimal btw) is pretty small scale. So I have it furred about 3 x in the file, saved and then imported into Flash again. The lines look much much better. Flash is not only to make the curves as well when they are really small.

  • Problem importing sequences in AE CS5.5

I'm having problems importanting "avi" video of my Vado HD in AE CS5.5 - playback of videos very well in Windows Media Player, but when they are imported into After Effects the clip is grey and only the audio track is available. I do not understand the problem because the codec must be installed for the Media Player read the files and I checked this by loading the film into GSpot with this result: Codec H264. The name of H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. Installed. Really hope someone can help me with this.

I think you might be out of luck on this one... It is flavor H.264 hardware acceleration, intel, that AE has obviously never been decoded. I checked on CS3. There might be some active DLL, you can install intel themselves who can solve the problem, but I could not find in the shortness of the time. So that leaves a lot of external conversion as your only option. After passing through one of the tools, I mentioned it opens fine in AE...

  • Best line drawing import in InDesign file format

I was wondering what is the file format accepted and recommended for the files to import into InDesign. I was under the impression that the files I should be saved in EPS, but I just read an article that said that Adobe Dov Isaacs said that the eps will soon be obsolete. What I would do. I work on the curriculum that contains photos and line art and we use for the old tiff and eps for the latter. Most of our line is done in artificial intelligence. Howeverwe have a cartoonist who sends us files in jpg format. What would be the best format to file for him and for us as we draw in artificial intelligence?

    Article link: http://www.prepressure.com/library/file-formats/EPS

The future of the EPS file format

EPS quickly became an obsolete file format which is replaced by PDF as PostScript itself is also removed gradually and by PDF. Don't take just my word on that. Dov Isaacs of Adobe said in a discussion on a forum of PrintPlanet on the future of PostScript: ' ... '. Adobe will continue to support the EPS graphic format inherited for import of managed, opaque colors graphic data in applications (such as InDesign and Illustrator) Adobe.  Although some of us recommend that new graphic content be stored in format EPS (except to satisfy the need to import data in the programs layout that are not quite focused on PDF - no need to name names here!), our user base should feel comfortable that there is no need to worry about a need to convert their very important EPS graphic asset libraries. »

    OK, you used my name...

First of all, I have never said "that EPS will soon be obsolete." I did not use those words explicitly or even implicitly. The legacy implies that this is really not the current workflow favorite, plain and simple.

Regarding the cartoons, the format used to send the cartoon really depends on how the cartoons are drawn. If the cartoon is physically drawn on paper the pen and hand coloring, then it's probably logical to scan these drawings and save as TIFF, JPEG files scans not! JPEG is frozen and especially poor for what looks like actually to the linework. If the cartoons are drawn in a program such as Adobe Illustrator vector, then the best format to send to you is clear, either PDF or at worst, native Adobe Illustrator (.) Files HAVE).

  • Problems importing .inx in InDesign CS3

    Hello everyone,

I'm Luana and I'm a translator. Has been for many years one of my clients send me the InDesign CS3 files to be translated.

I export to .inx and import them in Trados, then, after translation, I re-imported the inx file in InDesign and save them. Always successfully!

Now, I'm facing a problem: when importing inx. in InDesign, the last two pages document is empty, but they should not (there is text in there). The text is in, I don't know because I translated it, but unfortunately I can't view in InDesign, it is hidden.

Do you know how to view again?

    Thank you in advance!

    Kind regards

    Luana

Check the story editor view and search a text right after the indicator of excess. It's usually something preventing a break line that is too wide for the frame, a too big for the frame table cell, or a Dungeon option that prevents the text to appear.

  • Problem importing from illustrator into inDesign files

Is there something to place illustrator files in ID? I tried to place 300 dpi of illustrator files and they appear at a lower resolution and cannot be used for printing. The same problem occurs with Photoshop and PDF files.

Set the display of high quality.

  • Strange problem: paste text InDesign CC2015 always adds color cyan

Whenever I have paste a text in an InDesign in InDesign CC2015 document - it is also important the cyan 100% color to my Swatch Library. (They text is always black, however, and there is no background color or whatever it is.)

Anyone know why this is happening?

Not a big problem but enough weird...

    Another note on this.

    What is not working:

Change the default shading of paragraph fill color, if you change the default settings of your 'base Paragraph Style' when no document is open to 'None' and go ahead.

    Have you always a swatch namedC = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0"that is in use. I suspect that fill colorC = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0"is part of the style 'No paragraph Style' paragraph 'invisible '. And "Basic Paragraph Style" is based on "No paragraph Style".

Just tested the script (ExtendScript/JavaScript) and I can confirm my hypothesis.

We can address the "no paragraph Style" by the index 0 of the collection of the app (i.e. InDesign) paragraph styles like this:

    app.paragraphStyles[0].paragraphShadingColor.name;

    will return "C = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0".

And you cannot change that. Even by the script.

Trying to 'None' in the color property of shading as value

    app.paragraphStyles[0].paragraphShadingColor = "None";

    will throw an error.

    So "C = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0" will stay with us for a long time, I suspect ;-)

  • I can't text IMPORTER in InDesign CC without the Red Cross at the bottom of the text frame.

Hello, I would like to import a manuscript of several pages, since OpenOffice Mac, in InDesign CC on online tutorials I see that all this is accomplished without problem. The import takes place directly on several pages.

But when I try, I end up with a single filled text frame, and the small red cross at the bottom of the frame indicating that the text is too long. I do not want to paste the rest of the text with the mouse page-by-page. Can you please help me!

Certainly it is stupid but I am looking for two days!

Professional in preferences > text box "smart text reflow" is checked. Or so when you import your text, hold down the SHIFT key: this will create as many pages as necessary.

  • Stamp missing PDF importing in InDesign

I asked this in the forum of Acrobat, but on further investigation, it seems to be a problem of ID.

I was sent a PDF file to include in a magazine I put on the page. This PDF was created by one person and has an element that has been added by another. This added element is a stamp added in Acrobat.

When I opened it in Acroboat (9.5.1) it seems as it should. The document prints correctly, including the stamp so that I can print stamps & paper in the print dialog box.

However, when I place it in a (6.0.6) document ID, this new item * stamp) is not (and does not print).

What must be done either in the source document with the stamp or the import of ID to get the stamp to show?

A stamp in a PDF document is an annotation and not part of the PDF file.  The term for inegrating annotations (and other auxiliary items) in a PDF file is called "flattening".  Once the PDF file is flattened, the stamp should appear in InDesign.  However, pleasant results may not be so simple - you can't have a stamp of low resolution in a piece of paper, for example.

  • Best types of files, size etc. of import in InDesign, etc.

    Hello

Given that my computer is to thrust then with files that are too big (old files that I created when I wasn't aware of the best ways to reduce the size of the file, etc..) I have a few questions.

    • A lot of my files is. EPS, but in this case, I have the original in file. PSD or. PDF (both possible to place in InDesign files). What is the best type of file to be placed in InDesign, because having the same design and in. PSD and in. EPS seems a little stupid to me?
