Dear God. I can't believe how much a long time ago, I asked this question. Over 2 years later I see something in my Inbox (right now). Honestly, I know more ask this question.
And more now, I would say try the upgrade to Windows 2000 if you happen to have a product key. Then go to Windows XP. If not, is it possible to restore Windows 98 updates? Perhaps the latest edition of Service causes a conflict with the upgrade. You be left with a clean cloth. I'm curious, that you still have a machine running Windows 98? What is the material/specs on this platform? I can't believe anyone is still out there running old technology like this to use out of it. -

MY PROBLEMS DURING THE UPGRADE TO WINDOW 10
I received a notification to upgrade Windows 7 to 10 of the window. In may 2016, I started the process. I followed as a result dialog boxes that Windows 7 and downloaded Update window 10. Beginning of June, my PC me notified to the installation of window 10. When I clicked OK, a dialog box informed me that my PC will reboot several times.
When he completed the first 100% and continued with another level of installation, to 32% he is static up to 3 hours when I noticed that my laptop batteries becomes excessively hot. I then turned off the batteries. When I powered up the PC again, it began to recover my Windows 7. From there he was showing me that my windows 7 is not genuine.
Now I couldn't restart the upgrade from window 10.
The PC is my desktop PC and I can't access the product key of window 7 for use in a revalidation. What should I do to get out of the mess.
Not wise to interrupt an upgrade
You even need to create a system image on a removable hard drive?
Anyway now you will need to contact M$ using the activation of the phone and communicating with the manufacturing of the machine to sort the invalid license.

Solution for Webcam sleep & back problems after the upgrade to Windows 7
Just thought I'd share the solution I recently found a problem I've had since a Satellite Pro A200 GE 26 Q of the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.
I installed the software webcam for windows 7 on the toshiba site and built-in Chicony camera would work very well after a reboot, but if the computer is in sleep for a long enough period, the unit would stay asleep when the computer woke up and wouldn't work at all, unless the computer has fully restarted.
The solution lies in a change in the registry to force the computer to update the webcam USB controller is attached, after the release of sleep. It was apparently the default for Vista when it was released, but was changed in Vista SP1 and Windows 7. Designed for Vista original material which did not have its drivers/registry updated entries could therefore be subject to a failure because of changes to the default settings through the updates of windows. Toshiba, it seems, do not think that this issue then of the extinction of the registry fix for Win7 upgrades for the satellite Pro A200. Therefore fix manually.
The article where the solution is here: [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928631]
You do NOT have the file of the fix, you must only make the change to the registry described later.
You need turn on the camera while you do the following to make sure that it appears in Device Manager correctly.
Step 1: Determine the specific USB host controller
# Click on * early *, enter devmgmt.msc #the * search * box, then click on * devmgmt.msc* in the * list of programs.
# The * view * menu, click on * devices of * connection *.
# Expand the processor node. For example, expand * ACPI * Multiprocessor PC *. (In my case, * ACPI x 86 based PC) *.
# Extend * system compatible ACPI Microsoft *.
# Extend * PCI Bus *. Several USB host controllers will be listed.
# Expand each USB host controller node, and then expand successive subnodes until you find the name of the device that is failing. For example, the device entry might look like the following: ACPI Multiprocessor PC\Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System\PCI Bus\Intel (R) \ICH8 family USB Universal Host Controller - drive root Hub\fingerprint 2830\USB * (Note: for me, I found the webcam to ACPI x 86 PC\Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System\PCI Bus\Intel (R) \ICH8 family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283A\USB Root Hub + USB Composite Device\Chicony USB 2.0 Camera-based) *.
# When you have located the device, right click on the associated and then USB host controller click on * properties *. In the example that is listed in step 6 you would right-click * Intel(r) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller-* 2830, then click on * properties *. (* Again, for me it was different - ICH8 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283 a *).
# Click on the * details * tab.
# Select * pilot key * in the list. The driver key will look like the following. Note the last four digits of this driver key. {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000} \0002 * (on my system it's: (36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000) \0005*).
Step 2: Add the ForceHCResetOnResume registry value for the USB host controller
# Click on * early *, type regedit #in the * search * box, then click on * regedit.exe* in the * list of programs.
# Find and then click the registry subkeys that are similar to the following: * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Class{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}\Four-digit_number.* in this step, the numero_a_quatre_chiffres is a placeholder for the USB devices in the system.
# You must search the registry subkey by using the value that you noted in step 9 above. For example, if the key of the pilot to step 9 is * {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000} \0002*, then you need to get * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Class {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} \0002. (For me, as mentioned above, this was \0005 (36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000)). *
# On the * Edit * menu, point on * New * and then click on * DWORD value *.
# Type# * ForceHCResetOnResume * to the name of the DWORD and then press ENTER.
# Right click * ForceHCResetOnResume * and then click on * edit *.
# In the * boite box the value data, type# 1 and then click on * OK *.
# Exit the registry editor.
# Restart the computer. This fixed the problem for a long time for me. I'm writing this in case it helps someone else who has the same problem. If anyone from Toshiba never reads this, you might consider adding the registry fixes for upgrades of windows 7 on the download page for this & all other models affected.
Big Hey what s announced and detailed, thank you! :)
I m wondering how you discovered it.But I want to add something: before you make or change something in the Windows registry, make a backup of it. In the worst cases, restore you the old Windows registry. Just to be sure ;)

Original title: Windows 7
I have 2 questions-
I have a laptop Windows 7 when I tried to update Windows 10 received a message that it could not be updated. Has there never been a solution or an update for those of us who have a version of Windows 7 which initially could not updated for Windows 10?
I have a computer I upgraded Windows 10 and really like it. I do not understand that I can not make a copy of 10 Windows on a computer, I've updated for Windows 10. Is it possible for me to download a copy of Windows 10 on my laptop Windows 7 to make a restore CD in the case of a computer problem?
You can try the upgrade manually:
Task of pre-required
When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1
- How to back up and restore your files manually
- How to free up disk space in Windows
- How to: 10 tips before installing Windows 10
- How to: determine if a device application or hardware is compatible with Windows 10
- Will remain the documents and applications, or install app must
then
- How to download official Windows 10 ISO files
- How to: upgrade previous versions of Windows using the file ISO for Windows 10
then
- Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
- Reboot several times, and then try again.
- Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
- If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
- Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
- If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
- If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
- If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
- If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
- If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
You also have the possibility to choose 'Keep personal files only', which guarantees a successful in most cases installation.

Problem with the upgrade to Windows 7 Professional to Windows 7 Ultimate
Hello
My Dell laptop came pre-installed with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit version. But there was a hardware problem, and I had to re - reinstall Windows 7 on my Dell laptop. But then, without knowing it, I installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (for which I had the key too) & began to work on it. Later, when some drivers were not installed correctly because of compatibility issues, I realized the truth.
Then I tried to update my Windows 7 Professional current operating system to Windows 7 Ultimate-operating system by using Windows Anytime Upgrade without having to re - install Windows from scratch, I have so many applications and data on my laptop now. And I used the key of Windows 7 Ultimate version I have with my Dell laptop. But the key is not be accepted by the Windows Anytime Upgrade application and the following error message is displayed:
"Enter a different upgrade key
The upgrade key you have entered is an edition of Windows that does not work with Windows Anytime Upgrade. Enter a different upgrade key. "
Please help me in this regard to solve this problem so that I can improve my Windows 7 operating system without having to re - install from scratch.
Thank you
Romaric
Note: Retail 'Full' or 'Upgrade' product keys will work when you use the Express Upgrade feature.
Upgrade Express 'can' not work (check with the manufacturer of the computer support team) for users who have the OEM and system integrators or keys, this applies also to VL (Volume License), - MSDN Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) / DreamSpark or pedagogical keys that does not / do support the Anytime Upgrade option. KMS users consult your administrator before attempting to perform an Express upgrade.
The key that came with your mobile PC is an OEM key, which most likely why it fails to upgrade.

Portege M700 rotation problems after the upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit
I've upgraded to windows 7 yesterday evening on my portege m700. It is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I installed all the drivers in 64-bit on Toshiba page and the Windows section. Everything works perfectly except the screen does not properly rotate when in tablet mode. I can press ctrl + alt + arrow keys to rotate, and I can also use the windows Mobility Center to rotate 90 degrees at a time. I wonder what I have to do turn once engaged in tablet mode, as it did in Vista. I have the Toshiba rotation utility installed, but it doesn't seem to be something. It seems that it does not receive a signal from the screen that it was shot.
I need it for school, so any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Hello
I think that there are not all 64boit drivers for Win 7 published and released for M700 and you will need to also install drivers for Vista 64-bit!
For example:
* Tablet PC Extension v 1.0.0.1 for Vista 64 bit Package *.
This package installs a range of important public services.Utility _TOSHIBA of rotation: _ define the orientation of the screen by default as the system to be used in the transition from the PC to Tablet mode, or vice versa.
_TOSHIBA tablet PC buttons driver: _ you can dedicate tablet buttons to perform common tasks so that you can easily use your tablet PC away from your workstation. For example, you can dedicate a button to open a program or to change the orientation of your screen.
_TOSHIBA accelerometer utilities: _ these utilities are a set of material utilities that work with the integrated motion sensors you machine. With the accelerometer, your machine will be able to detect how you're holding it at one point. You can set the machine to perform a specific function when the device is tilted quickly left or right, either at the front or back. You can also take control of the cursor in some applications and move by leaning the PC in a certain direction.
