  I don't know about other issues. There are always 'problems' with any upgrade. You weigh against the benefits. I know that you need more RAM. At least 4 GB, maybe more if you can. Don't forget that this system is produced at a time when most of the machines have + 8 GB RAM and when Apple said 'minimum' they really mean it.  I recently inherited a MacBook that has 2 GB of RAM and the Mavericks. When I checked the memory, the use of the system was using 1.95 GB = nothing to run applications!

  I am currently in Firefox 36.0.4 on a Windows 7 Pro computer. I tried twice to move to Firefox 37.0.1 WITHOUT success. Once the software is downloaded and start the upgrade, the upgrade appears just "hang" - nothing happens after 15 minutes, which is much too long to do the upgrade previous updates of Firefox have NEVER took this long and I never had any problem with prerequisites updated to Firefox! My Windows 7 has the latest Microsoft patches. I don't know why this is happening. Any suggestions? For now I give up trying to pass to the 37.0.1 version.

  Just thought I'd share the solution I recently found a problem I've had since a Satellite Pro A200 GE 26 Q of the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.

  I installed the software webcam for windows 7 on the toshiba site and built-in Chicony camera would work very well after a reboot, but if the computer is in sleep for a long enough period, the unit would stay asleep when the computer woke up and wouldn't work at all, unless the computer has fully restarted.

  The solution lies in a change in the registry to force the computer to update the webcam USB controller is attached, after the release of sleep. It was apparently the default for Vista when it was released, but was changed in Vista SP1 and Windows 7. Designed for Vista original material which did not have its drivers/registry updated entries could therefore be subject to a failure because of changes to the default settings through the updates of windows. Perhaps the latest edition of Service causes a conflict with the upgrade. You be left with a clean cloth. I'm curious, that you still have a machine running Windows 98? What is the material/specs on this platform? I can't believe anyone is still out there running old technology like this to use out of it.

  The T500 has only two slots of RAM, so the upgrade to 8 GB would mean that your two existing 2 GB modules would need to be removed.
