  • Qosmio G40: Problem burning DVD-R HD

    Hello

I have a problem with my G40 equipped with a reader of SD-L902a. In simple words: I can't burn HD DVD-R discs.

The disks I use are PHILIPS HD DVD-R (single side, 15 GB). The guy at the shop of media said there should be no problems with compatibility, because this SD-L902a is the ONLY hd - dvd burner on the market right now. It would be illogical for Philips sell records which are not compatible with anything, wouldn't it? ;-)

Anyway, I tried to use both Disc Creator of Toshiba and the new Nero 8.

Toshiba sweet, when I load the HD DVD-R in the drive, I see an icon with a sign saying: this disc can not be written. In the 'disc info' box in Nero it says it's an HD DVD-R, but the available size is 0 and I can not burn (it says "insert writable media").

I have 4 HD DVD-r and they all have the same... What plan you could be the problem?

    Hello Tom

I think you are the first person with this problem and I'm really curious to know if anyone can offer any explanation. The fact is that this CURIOUS is the first designed for HD-DVD-R virgins.

Maybe the laser cannot be placed in the right position. You have problems, watch HD-DVD movies?

  • Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

I have an Asus UX31 of Zenbook ultrabook. It is running Windows 8, I installed it via download, is not a physical disk.

Recently, I ran Windows Update and he knew as usual, until the time of reset. It restarts, showed on the screen "install updates", but then finally started only the following error message:

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

As mentioned, I don't have a disc, my ultrabook is not a hard drive. Internal storage only that there is a 128 GB SSD. I went into the bios and check the boot settings and the SSD is correctly listed as the only option to start.

I can only assume some question that's happened with the update of windows. I'm not sure of how to proceed now? ATM, I only have a weight £1000 :/

    Hello r,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

By the description of the problem, I understand that you have problems starting from the computer to the desktop screen, it gives the above error message.

I imagine how it could be frustrating when things do not work as expected. I appreciate your efforts to solve this problem.

As this problem occurred after installing Windows Update, this could be the reason for the incompatible driver installed with the Windows updates.

As you have already checked the settings for starting a disc SSD set correctly, I suggest you disconnect all the external device and restart the computer, check if are able to boot to the desktop screen.

We will try the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you create USB recovery media as your laptop doesn't have the DVD Rom.

If you're having problems with your PC, a recovery USB disk can help you troubleshoot and fix these problems, even if your PC does not start.

Create an installation media for Windows 8.1
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Method 2: Once you create USB recovery media, auto repair:

Follow the steps below to perform an automatic repair:

1 restart the computer, wait for the logo of the manufacturer to check the option of start menu, it will usually F12.
    2. the start menu key can be different with each manufacturer. If you are unable to find the start menu button, you can consult the user manual.
    3. restart the computer, when appears the logo of the manufacturer, continue to press the Boot option menu key to enter the boot menu and change the option to boot in DVD ROM.
    4. Once you start your computer by using Windows 8 DVD or system repair disc, a black screen appears with the gray text "press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.
    5. Select the exact time and the type of keyboard.
    6. click on repair your computer in the lower left corner.
    7. click on troubleshooting, advanced option and then click on auto repair.

Hope this helps, please reply with the status of the question to get help.

  • Problem burning DVDs. "Error in device - device target is not suitable for use.

    Hi all

Initially, I had many problems with PE8. However, the update of nVidia Driver resolved most of them.

Just thought it was important to note the success, but also failure!

However, one problem remains. I get the following error at the level of the mark of 96% when burning. "Error in device - device target is not suitable for use. It is always the mark of 96% and the program is "[something] compilation" when this happens.

After searching this site I noticed that the user rgferg posted a similar problem 13 days ago has been redirected to repost in a different place, but never did.

I tried to burn a clip 1 hour 4 times and each time I chose the slowest burning speed (8 MB/s), as suggested. It seems that the lower support is a culprit, so I bought some Verbatim DVD media - R [quality] try in my optical drive SATA Phillips. I'm skeptical it will work, but nevertheless open-minded. I'll give it a whirl when my computer has stopped capturing VHS, I train.

Whenever combustion not not the disc was ejected automatically and the burn process actually started and progresses maybe about 40% or more.

That tells me it's a question of sharing, rather than issue a support. Somewhere on this forum, he suggested that I go through a process of 20 stages and remove/disable each piece of software that can compete with the first, among other things. IF I do this what do I burn through the outside of Adobe? What I need imgburn or whatever it was called? What happens if I like Nero? Nero 6 has worked very well for me for 3 years.

So I am ready to uninstall my old optical drive burning software, who out there can recommend commercial software which, for them, creates a painless Adobe burning experience without errors or conflicts? Perhaps there is another solution that I've not seen on this forum?

I am running Windows XP SP3. I have the latest nVidia drivers for my cards SLI GeForce 7600 GS. I have 3 monitors. RAID 0 SATA, 2 GB RAM, Athlon X 2 5400.

    Justin.

Since you are apparently able to burn to a folder on your hard drive, but not directly on a DVD, the problem is most likely that another program (Nero, for example) is interfering with communications between Premiere Elements and your DVD burner. This is very common.

Rather than fight with it, the easiest solution is simply to burn your files on your hard drive and then use Nero (or whatever your burner program) to burn the VIDEO_TS folder to a playable disc. This process takes no more time and offers a number of advantages, including the fact that he make several copies of your DVDs very easy.

  • Problem writing DVD SD 6112

OK, my DVD burner in my notebook SA30-404
seems to be only able to write some
    really not expensive DVD-media brands.

Where can I find which DVD, it will burn at?
I've already bought two piles of 25 discs
for nothing, because they do not work...

Supported dvd-brands and media or types
aren't anywhere to be found in the documentation.
"use only dvd media supported by toshiba."
    YES THEN? WHERE ARE THEY?
Really stupid if you ask me.
Cost us a lot of energy and time and money wasted.

    Hi jult

Media supported by Toshiba are probably tested media and they should be available in writing without any problem. Check this http://www.tdk-europe.com/index.php?id=34&sa_from=56&WYSESSID=pecthjsutge5g7 hup5t99epib1.
I can really recommend to use.

You are not required to use the media. I use just the TDK media for a long time and I am very satisfied. Have two cell phones and two of them have no problem to burn DVDs at all.

    Good bye

    Original title: ASUS computer problem

This morning I slammed my hard cutting computer. This afternoon, when I went to get on a black screen appears and says "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key." When I go to press the same message poping maintains and does not allow me to go anywhere else. My computer also makes a click when I try to restart. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.

The 'Ticking' noise is indicative of an HD program.  You can made a brick out of it.  The Message on the selection of the appropriate boot device indicates the tilt of the computer 'See' the HD.

You see the HD in the BIOS when you start?

    Hello

Check your cable connections. If necessary check with the manufacturer of the motherboard System Support
    and Seagate Support.

Make sure that settings/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 that you start the computer is configured to start at
on the CD/DVD first in the boot order.

  • Problem importing dvd files great family movie in one file

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    RememberI am trying to record a dvd with several films at home on this topic (many small files<1 gig)onto="" an="" external="" hard="" drive.="" i="" would="" like="" to="" store="" the="" content="" of="" the="" entire="" dvd="" as="" one="" large="" file="" (about="" 3.2="" gigs).="" however,="" everytime="" i="" try="" to="" do="" it,="" windows="" automatically="" breaks="" the="" files="" up="" into="" 4="" smaller="" files="" (around="" 1="" gig="" each).="" is="" there="" a="" setting="" that="" i="" can="" adjust="" in="" order="" to="" load="" the="" entire="" dvd="" onto="" an="" external="" hard="" drive="" as="" 1="" file?-="" this="" is="" a="" public="" forum="" so="" never="" post="" private="" information="" such="" as="" email="" or="" phone="">

First of all, I am intrigued, reason for which you want to create a single large video file into smaller files make it easier when it comes to video editing. If you want to create the backup, it is another matter, but the files are still separated.

This comment, please describe the tool/utility that you use to merge the small files in a large. I suspect that it is a form of video/DVD editor?
Note that the VOB (on DVD) files have a specification to keep up to approximately 1 GB maximum file size and maybe it's what you're watching?

The other important thing, it's how your external hard drive is formatted? FAT32? NTFS?

There are a few important unknowns and provide more information to get more help.

Just in case this applies to you, if you want to save a whole DVD, what you should look for is tools to convert DVD to ISO format files (so that you can always get back them on DVD) or possibly WinZip archive (I have not tested it for restoration to DVD media).

    I hope this helps.

  • Can't update windows like systems to give me an error that it cannot find a file and he needs me to insert the media.

Original title: re install windows 8.1.

I have problems with my computer and want to re install windows 8.0. I had upgraded my computer windows 7 to windows 8 but can't update windows like systems to give me an error that it cannot find a file and he needs me to insert the media.  I insert the windows disc 8, but the system indicates that it is not the correct information.  He is looking for another disc?  I created a recovery usb drive, but that doesn't seem to help.  I feel that I have completely new install windows 8 but I am nervous of course think I mess up something.  given that this computer was originally shipped with windows 7, I have to use the recovery discs I've done initially or is there a way to create new ones with the new windows 8?

    Hello and welcome!

If you are using a CD to upgrade of Windows 8, then there not all reinstall the files included for a full Windows.

Your best option is to use the recovery partition on your hard disk or the recovery CD from your PC back to Windows 7. Then Windows 7 SP1 upgrade and get all updates. Then, move to Windows 8 again.
