Problem writing DVD SD 6112

OK, my DVD burner in my notebook SA30-404
seems to be only able to write some
really not expensive DVD-media brands.

Where can I find which DVD, it will burn at?
I've already bought two piles of 25 discs
for nothing, because they do not work...

Supported dvd-brands and media or types
aren't anywhere to be found in the documentation.
"use only dvd media supported by toshiba."
YES THEN? WHERE ARE THEY?
Really stupid if you ask me.
Cost us a lot of energy and time and money wasted.

Hi jult

Media supported by Toshiba are probably tested media and they should be available in writing without any problem. Check this http://www.tdk-europe.com/index.php?id=34&sa_from=56&WYSESSID=pecthjsutge5g7 hup5t99epib1.
I can really recommend to use.

You are not required to use the media. I use just the TDK media for a long time and I am very satisfied. Have two cell phones and two of them have no problem to burn DVDs at all.

Good bye

  • Satellite P10-304: the problem writing and erasing CD - RW discs

Some need help pls. I own a Toshiba satellite P10-304 with a combo player SD-R2412 installed. When I try to burn a new CD - RW, it does ok, but wouldn't allow no other written on the same CD in another session. The written CD - RW is then recognized as a CD-ROM. In addition, it is not possible to erase the cd - rw usinig this player. When I take the cd written for my laptop office of deletion, as it's done with success and my toshiba can then burn again. Any ideas on what to do?

Additional information: laptop computer came bundled with "drag n dro cd" but I had to install Roxio and even tried the cd writing software provided with windows XP are done everything to nothing. I checked the 'advanced system info-error log' and the report there is 'the device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block'; I don't know what that means.

    Cheers.

    Hello

In my opinion, it's probably caused by software. In my opinion, you should remove all burning software and verify all burning functions with windows option. After deleting some software, it can happen that, in the registry editor it is a lot of waste that will not be removed completely.

In any case, delete all the burning software, and you can also try to remove the device from Device Manager DVD. Restart the laptop and DVD should be detected and installed correctly. Try using the option of engraving of Windows and if there is still problem writing once again please.

  • Problem of DVD on a Satellite 1950 801

    Hello

DVD player (Mat * a UJ - 810) of my Toshiba Satellite 1950 801 recently stopped recognizing any DVD inserted media (rewritable, registered or manufactured). However, it seems to work correctly with the CD, CD - r and CD - RWs. everything also seems normal in the control panel (I'm under Win XP Home, btw).

I wonder if it's probably a software problem (a driver or a program that must be running) or a hardware store. I need to replace the DVD drive?

Thank you very much in advance for your answers.

    Hello

Optical drive needs to change the phase of laser reading/writing DVD from the one he uses for CDs. It is possible that he can no longer do this properly.

Before you replace it, attempt to remove the optical drive from Device Manager, and then restart your system. The optical drive should be detected and re-installed with drivers, etc.. If she is still unable to properly read the DVD then it's a pretty safe bet that the unit should be replaced.

    Kind regards

  • I run windows xp on HP Pavilion 750, in the past, I have not had a problem writing to the pictures from my computer to a disc

I run windows xp on HP Pavilion 750, in the past, I have not had a problem writing to the photos from my computer on disc.

It now written up so I get a message cannot keep any body can help please.

    original title: problem writing Photos...

I'm sorry, but I don't have a solution for you.  You can check the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK) to see if there are warnings next to your CD burner.  If there is a caution icon, double-click the entry and see what it says under "device status".

I don't know how you use picture & Fax Viewer to burn a CD.  The usual method, except if you have 3rd party CD burning software, is to use Windows Explorer.  This is what Windows XP Help & Support has to say on this topic:

To copy files and folders to a CD

    1. Insert a blank, writable CD into the CD burner.
    2. Open my computer.
    3. Click the files or folders to copy to the CD. To select multiple files, hold down the CTRL key while you click the files you want. Then, under file and folder tasks, click copy this file, copy this folder, or copy the selected items.

If the files are located in my pictures, under management of images, click copy to CD or copy all items to a CDand go to step 5.

    4. In the dialog box copy items , click the CD player record, and then click copy.
    5. In my computer, double-click the CD burner. Windows displays a temporary area where the files are held before they are copied to the CD. Verify that the files and folders you want to copy to the CD appear under files ready to be written on the CD.
    6. Under CD writing tasks, click write these files to CD. Windows displays the Assistant burn a CD. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

    Notes

    • To open my computer, click Startand then click my computer.
    • Do not copy more files to the CD that it will hold. Standard CD hold up to 650 megabytes (MB). Large capacity CD contain up to 850 MB.
    • Don't forget that you have enough disk space on your hard disk to store the temporary files that are created during the CD writing process. For a standard CD, Windows reserves up to 700 MB of available disk space. For a high-capacity CD, Windows reserves up to 1 gigabyte (GB) of the available free space.
    • After you copy files or folders to the CD, it is useful to view the CD to verify that the files are copied.

  • Problem writing in cache file

I get the error message "there was a problem writing to the cache file... beacause of an error of dick." The cache will now be replaced?

    What does that mean?

I hit ok and it goes away. Fortunaely stay of my labels.

"There was a problem writing to the cache file... beacause of an error of dick." The cache will now be replaced?

I think the exact words for the points you leave is the path of your user account and end with "stamp"?

If so this is caused by the preference you set for ' export automatically hides files when possible.

And it's not nice to say, but I'm glad that you have this problem because I started to think I was the only one in the world who had seen this message

If you go to the bridge preferences Cache section and uncheck this option, you will probably not see this message again. There is no cache files written in your records, but I saw no advantage in the fact of the bridge still needed a lot of time to read this cache file

Unless you use a third-party DVD authoring program you can not burn a DVD of any kind using Windows XP burning capability.  It will be the author only CD.  By buying the new DVD player you should have received a disk with a certain type of DVD software of engraving.  Make sure that you use it to create your data DVD.
  • Satellite A30 - problem writing to DVD

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba A30 (PSA 33F) satellite some time ago and have just tried to burn on a dvd, but it is not being seen by the dvd-r/rw. So, I get a message that there is no cd in the drive.
But I can burn CD but not dvd.

It will play dvd movies, but the play/stop/pause buttons ETC don't work.

I tried deleting the Device Manager but has not solved the problems.

Search the Toshiba web site that says I must install the driver ram dvd but who did not.

    Any advice welcome.

    Hi William,.

Can you confirm that your A30 has a DVD burner? My Satellite A30 came only with a CD burner (a TEAC DW224E) so I had to replace it (with a CARPET * A UJ825) in order to burn DVDs.

  • Satellite P200-1EE - problem with writing DVD

Had a problem with a disc that would not eject from the drive. The drive light flashes and a rattling noise coming from the command.
Windows then did not recognize the drive at all!

After leaving from one day to the next, the disc came out at the start.
Everything seemed normal, DVD plays no problem.
    However, I can't burn a DVD using Nero 6.

I get an error message "Abandoned SCSI command". It never imagined before.
Is that what I can do to fix this?

There may be dust on the lens? Try to clean with a Microfiber cloth.

You can also try to remove the CD/DVD filters in the registry.
When the associated CD/DVD (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), the software is installed, they install filters in the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.

    (1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
    2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    (4) restart.

If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).

This utility can remove the filters for you:

  • Problem writing A60-672 DVD with nero express 6

I have a SD-R6112 dvd burner and you have installed Nero express 6 software, the system recognizes the material and can see the drive DVD - RW preforms formatting, burn data but no data is transferred and the disc remains empty, I received the following error message
    help "cannot mount the drive.

    Hello

had the written DVD burner has / this document to the DVD - RW format before this error message appears?

Do yu have the opportunity to try an other DVD - RW another provider for testing? It may be that some DVD writers have problems with some DVD providers! In this case you will need to test what media is the best for your burner.

Otherwise, you can also see if you find any means recommended to http://www.toshiba-europe.com/storage/index.asp?nav=HOM&page=HOM&frame=home

    Hello

What applications did you use to write on DVDs?
I m using Nero. It s a wonderful application that allows to burn with different media.

In addition, I found a driver DVD-RAM v5.0.2.5 on the European driver Toshiba page.
Install it and check what is happening with the laptop.

Otherwise, it might be a hardware problem

  • Problems with DVD/CD-RW on Satellite Pro M series

After searching the Forum questions / answers, it seems that many users have problems with the carpet * a 841 s UJ which is equipped with several types of Toshiba portable computers and I wonder why someone from Toshiba has not been able to intervene and to produce a final solution.

In my case, I can not format a CD - RW or a DVD + RW because the message "D:\ is not accessible" and also "incorrect function".

If DLA is selected in properties, can be as much as to be shown to a format selection window, but "Format failed due to general failure" happens.

Toshiba installation CD will work OK (I did this several times after losing data on the hard drive) but the writing seems to be beyond the capacity of the disc.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

BTW, the deletion of "Upper and Lower Filters" registry that I have seen offered as a solution will not work because there is only one entry for low filter - no higher.

You try to format the two supports using Windows option or using an application like Nero?
I can't imagine that there is a serious problem with ODD. Test it with Nero. I'm sure it will work properly.

  • Problem reading DVD (SD-R6112) on the Satellite P10 804 under Xp Pro SP2

My Toshiba DVD SD-R6112 (P10-804) now reads no DVD-r it just to burn with Nero 6.6
    The sysmtoms/anamnesis is therefore
    (1) it used to work fine. That is, that I never had a problem with playing on the P10 DVD, that I burned on the P10
    (2) DVDs burned before (before a few weeks ago) on the P10 continues to be readable on the P10
    (3) BUT DVD burned recently (5 or 10 last burned on 2 different types of media and two different burners) can be read in the drive of P10. The DVD is not yet recognized - it sometimes changes shape explorer DVD - RW CD - R, but that's all. No file, no nothing.
    (4) these same (unreadable by P10) DVD is very well played on two other DVD players I have (Freecom USB and divx standalone player). The drive can read the DVD (USB Freecom) CDFS file system reports, no free space (Nero 6.6.0.14 was said to not to allow future sessions) and all appear normal.

The DVD driver is Microsoft 5.1.2535.0 1/7/2001. The DVD 1031 firmware revision.

Nero was the only program running when the DVD is burned (no file to add). The verified OK after burning DVD.
I can't find an update of the firmware on the Toshiba site so I'm a little stuck on what to do next
    Any ideas?

    Hello

I read in several journals, computer and on some sites that not all drives are compatible with all media. Sometimes, readers cannot read the media burned because of the 3rd party software that prevents access to the media or files.
Generally, it is not easy to say why some readers read and write media and some readers cannot handle the same media. There are many factors.

Sometimes, the firmware update will help you resolve problems with reading or writing.
I found this SD-R6112 page with a driver for this device and the latest firmware version.

    Hello

You can differ if it is hard or software problem when you perform a full recovery. After that your S2410 recovery is to default settings and should work fine unless your CD drive is broken!

If the CD drive is damaged, you must contact a Service partner and they must check that they drive!

    Hi wizzrince,

have you checked if the Toshiba homepage provides a new firmwareupdate for your DVD player? It could be that the problems will be solved after an update!

    Go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

or see if you have a player of 3rd party manufacturer and google for the site of the manufacturer.
