  Has) clean boot

  To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  The following link has steps showing how to perform the clean boot.

  (1) perform the clean boot

  i. Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

  II. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

  III. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

  IV. click the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box and then click Disable all.

  v. click OK.

  VI. When you are prompted, click on restart.

  VII. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

  (2) enable half the services

  (3) determine whether the problem returns

  (4) enable half of the startup items

  (5) determine if the problem returns

  (6) repeat the steps above until you find out which program or service is causing the issue

  After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.

  Note: Please make sure that the computer is configured to start as usual by following step 7 of article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 .

  Reset the computer to start as usual

  When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

  (i) click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

• Problem launching programs on my computer

  So, last night, I got the Vista Antivirus 2010 virus, and I used ESET to locate and delete the infected files.  the virus seems to be over for now, but now I can't start any program that is not Internet explorer.

  When I try to run something like World of Warcraft, for example, he brings up a window 'Open with', with internet explorer as the recommended program.  When I have select it and click OK, it evokes "File download - security warning" Launcher.exe (the file that displays the Blizzard launch window) for.  If I choose "run", it brings up the window Internet Explore - security for the Launcher.exe warning.  If I choose Run on which he returned to the open with window and runs continuously in a loop.

  What happens with all programs I've tried so far, including ESET.  I restarted my computer, which does not solve the problem, and the system restore will not start because of the same issue.  Any help I can get with this would be much appreciated.

• Problem launching software adobe digital editions and the administrator password

  I'm trying to download adobe digital editions to my pc, so I can transfer books to read on my iPad 2.  However, when I click on "launch", appears a message "run as" and this must be done by "Administrator".  The problem is, it won't take my password.  The password works every time I log in.  Why not do it now?  Thank you.

  Do you have any other user accounts on the computer? If so, is there another account with higher privileges to user you can log in and check if your account privileges is set to administrator or limited user level?

  I would like to uninstall the software and reinstall.

• Problem launching of a document (PDF) on a slide.

  I am launching a PDF by a button on a blade of CP. I made this a million times before and now it doesn't seem to work.

  I put the path to the doc I want to open A./pdf/docname.pdf on an action URL or a document open for a clickbox. Normally, when I got out I have just make sure that the folder PDF containing my .pdf file is located in the folder and the action takes place to open in a new window - no problem - I out and opens the PDF with the click of mouse.

  Now what I get is an alert saying that the doc will not open because it can not find the path to the file - incorrectly tries to create a 'mish-mosh' path of my custom path and an absolute path from my C drive.

  ...:/Users/username/desktop/development - you get the idea.

  Any thoughts?

  I have a weird problem with Oracle Data Integrator installation in Vista. Hope someone could help me.
  
  I installed ODI (10.1.3.5.0) as well as the quality of the data and profiling. The installation was successful, however, while trying to launch the quality/Metabase database server, etc., I get an error: "admin.exe is not found" / "discovery.exe not found." In addition, the bin folder of the oracledq folder is empty. I was just wondering need 'something' at least in the bin directory if the installation was error-free!
  
  Could you please let me know if something is wrong with the installation or is it a Vista problem? Do I need to install anything else as a sine qua non?

  What happens when a user attempts to open a Word doc is, a new IE6 window flashes open then close, never showing the user the document. They can do a CTRL + left click on the document to bring up the options menu. Will they save the file and open it from their desktop, it works very well. If they try to select open, the same as mentioned above occurs.

  I use ThinApp 4.7.2 to create virtual applications to IE6, and we are currently migrating our users Windows 7 SP1 of XP. We have Office 2010 SP1 installed on all workstations. We still have XP systems in use and they are not affected by this problem, everything works fine for them.

  Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
