Problem of dictation and Siri on cellular data network

Whenever I have try to use dictation or Siri in 3G or 4 G, on my iPhone 6 using the last iOS 9.3.2,and this does not work, and after a while, Siri informs me it's has problems with the network connection. Navigation works the next second and I had received e-mails while Siri was trying to connect to the Apple servers.

Of course, everything works fine ofer wifi. I didn't notice this behavior after a certain update, since I have been using Dictation and Siri daily, after the last update. Other services such as FaceTime and iMessages work on cell phone.

I've already wiped the phone and reinstalled from a backup to iCloud.

Needless to say, it's very annoying.

Welcome KSamuel,

From what I understand, your iPhone works very well except with Siri in 3G or 4G cellular connections. While on these connections, everything else works but Siri. You have erased the iPhone and restore a back up with no results.

The resources below provide some specific troubleshooting steps for issues with Safari.  I know that you have already tried some of them, but try these steps once more in the order presented.

Use Siri on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

If the problem persists, restoring the iPhone is a step of great to solve many software issues. This leaves him restore the iPhone again to make sure that the question is not a file that is damaged on the back upward. We will make a new backup of your iPhone and then reinstall it to the factory settings using this article: use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

Once done, does not restore the back upwards immediately but set up as new iPhone. Then test Siri. If the problem is resolved, restore back upward and test again. You can restore your back ups using this link: restore your device from an iCloud or backup iTunes let us know how it goes.

  • Why my cellular data close and return on regularly while I use my phone?

Thank you for taking the time to help me!

For about two months, my iPhone 6 has this odd thing where the symbol of cellular data (LTE) at the top left of my screen turns off, and a notification will appear saying "Could not activate cellular data network". But then some 30 seconds or more, the symbol will reappear and my data will resume working properly. When I use the data for an extended period, this happens over and over again and at regular intervals. I have iOS 9.3.1 and I don't know if it of related or not, but my phone is never able to download 9.3.2. I tried several times with the trendy phone and wifi, but after some time, my phone will say "iOS 9.3.2 could not be installed." I don't know if there is a problem with Verizon, but whatever the problem, it's, it's just weird. If you have taken the time to read all this and carefully examine the problem, I appreciate really! Thank you!

    Hello.

As a first step, try restarting your iPhone: shut it down and restart.

Cellular data before you turn off and turn it on again: settings > cellular > Toggle Off > toggle again.

You can also try to overthrow on during flight Mode about 30 seconds: Open Control Center > press the icon aircraft > after 30 seconds, shut off again.

If this does not help, reset your iPhone: go to settings > general > reset > reset all settings. You won't lose any content in this way.

  • iOS 10 cellular data broke

My daughter has an iPhone 5 c she's had for about two years and it has worked very well. She has updated to iOS 10 and mobile data has not worked since. I had a Verizon technical support check the account, and two different Verizon stores have changed the SIM card with no luck. They say it's a matter of Apple. The strange thing is, if I swap the SIM card from my iPhone in the 5 c 6, it works perfectly.  Did not work with it's original SIM or to one of the two new Verizon SIMs.

I reset the network settings again and again. Cellular data do little to 3G or not on LTE. I even went as far as do a DFU restore on it for new firmware and software and set it up as a new iPhone, just in case it was a software problem. I'll take it to the Genius Bar at my local Apple store, but it'll be a couple of days until I have time to do... so any ideas on how to solve this problem?  I tried all the solutions I can think or even randomly as I find on the net.  Nothing has worked so far. The only error message I get is "could not activate cellular network' when the phone tries to connect and fails.  Texts and phone calls work well and the wifi has either no problem. Simply not cellular data at all.

    Thank you!

  • Cellular data doesn't work only if connected to the intranet wireless

  • iTunes with cellular data problems

iTunes is not online when I travel, the cell data box is checked in the settings, but still it says I am offline, some answers anyone?

    Hi Noreple,

Looks like you have your cellular data settings allows iTunes to use your data, but it continues to tell you that you are not connected. I would start by first quit iTunes and apps settings:

Force an app to close the iOS

    1. press the Home button twice quickly. You will see small glimpses of your applications recently used.
    2. slide to the left to find the application you want to close.
    3. push upward on the overview of the application to close.

When you have done that reboot the device and test again the question:

iOS: switch off and on (restart) and reset

If the problem persists, I would then reset your network settings:

Go to settings > general > reset, and then choose an option:

    ...

    • Reset network settings: When you reset the network settings, the previously used networks and VPN settings that have not been installed with a configuration profile are deleted. (To remove the VPN settings installed by a configuration profile, go to settings > general > profile, select the profile, and then tap on delete.) This removes also other parameters or the accounts provided by the profile). Wi - Fi is turned off and then on again, disconnect from any network you're on. The Wi - Fi settings and "Ask to join networks" are lit.

  • Blank apps and icons for the use of cellular data

Under settings > cellular, "Cellular data for usage" list, the first two rows are for some unknown applications, lack of title and icons. I guess they are vestiges of the apps that I deleted, but I fear that they are malicious software or a another bug. I tried to reset my phone and made sure it was sync properly with my apps on my mac, but these missing apps are still there (see photo). Any suggestion on what these empty applications can be, and if I should disable cell phone use just in case? Thank you.

It is not malware. I think that your proposal about it being the remains of the applications that you may have deleted would be closer to what past. I saw the same thing on all of my iOS devices. This icon is the 'framework' all the app icons based on. In other words, if you stripped the face from the application icon, you will see which frame.

It won't do harm to turn off cellular data for these applications. It could even lead to a discovery about what applications they are, if you try to use with cellular data off the coast and they don't work. I just think they are icons that are not displayed correctly.

  • Cellular data opens, but may not use the network have to reset net work every time

    Hello everyone

    My problem is:

When you use the cell data, after several hours, the net is not available

I have to reset the network every time

    and this happens every day

    I'm so sad!

    Hello

If you have not already done so, it can help to upgrade your iPhone to the latest version of the software:

Also, follow the steps detailed here:

  • Cellular data are on, but does not?

This problem has been who is rampant in me for these days. So I come home from a study of the year abroad to the Japan, and put a new SIM card in my iPhone 6 when I got home. I saw the bars, and LTE. Data cell was lit, I never turned it off. But every time I want to try to use internet or anything requiring internet, my phone there is no link, and I had to activate cellular data or connect to the Wifi. I went to Verizon, they said, they didn't know what to do. I went to Apple, and they did not either.

The strange thing is my phone doesn't work if I restore it. If I connect to my computer, ti go iTunes and hit "Restore iPhone" and start over, the internet works. So I backed up my phone before I do, only to find out that if I restore the backup and then my internet stops working again. Now I don't bother me restore my phone. It is updated to 9.3.4, and most of my stuff comes back via iCloud in any case, I'm pretty sure. (Notes, contacts, etc.) Honestly I don't know if it's iCloud because I don't really know what's on my iCloud or how to check, either, but if I restore my phone these things all still return.) The only problem with that is, if I do I lose all my photos. I have about 10,000 photos and videos on my iPhone I need to upload them to Facebook, some I want to keep my phone without worrying. I saved in a file with Capture of Image; I couldn't use iPhoto because she kept finding problems with my photos and refusing to back them up, so it turned out to be useless. I backed up, wiped my phone and put the photos that all back, except that now they are in an album subtitled "on my Mac" and NOT in my Camera Roll. They also not be deleted, and I can't put them all on Facebook; Facebook goes back only to my last 5,000 for a reason, not completely backward through the 10,000. If they are all on my Camera Roll, however, then it will come back completely without problem.

With respect to the data cell phones/Internet, I tried everything with Verizon and walk in Apple Store. Reset Factory Reset network settings, and restart your phone, put in another new SIM, I don't know what the * happens. I'm not even good with phones or anything Apple related so I was hoping someone here could help me.

I just need to get 2 things: my photos and my Internet connection. It seems that I can't have one without the other lose. I'm at the end of my absolute roll, and this isn't what I want to spend my time doing when I came right home. I had no such problems at all when I was abroad, they began as soon as I put the new SIM card in, but Verizon and Apple have both claimed that the SIM card is not the problem. I really hope that someone can help me here. I'm looking for a way, if possible, to restore internet on my phone backed up, or a way to restore my film on my phone restored photos, basically. Thank you for reading!

More than likely, it is possible that the use of the foreign SIM card installed a profile on your device. When you restore the unit to the factory, you delete the profile, but restore your backup restores the profile. Many foreign SIMs for this.

Go to settings > general and see if there are all the profiles listed. It may also have to with a carrier day missing on the device. With the full backup, you can check in settings > general > about and see what is listed under the carrier. If it is not Verizon, then there is a problem.

  • No cellular data on iPhone 6

It seems that there is no cellular data on AT & T iPhone service 6, but 4G icon is displayed. The phone can place and receive calls, send and receive text and connect to WI - FI. I reset the network settings and updated iOS software but still no cell data. Can you please help me on this?

    Thank you

Have you checked with AT & t. depending on where you live, there may be problems. I'm in the Chicago area, and last week, they were doing maintenance tower which created havoc with the iPhone of my son 6 s. I do not seem any problem with my phone, but it's OK now. However, AT & T should be able to answer your question. Also, make sure the cell data are lit it parameters.
