Problem of file copy in Windows 7 on USB

I installed windows 7 64-bit professional original... copying files to usb cling on 5 seconds left... for a while but then suddenly copy is complete... How to fix it please help me?

File transfer speed is governed by various factors include speed supported by the USB device, the speed of the internal hard drive (HDD), USB port workshop, the size of the file, the number of programs accessing HARD drive internal and USB device (the more, slower port speed), the number of programs to the copied file free space available in the USB and the amount of free system resources available (such as the RAM and processor). If none of these factors are affected, the problem occurs. Therefore, it is recommended to use safely remove hardware feature, to ensure that no program can access the USB key. In addition, if the USB device is indicator of activity, until it ceases all activity, it is in use. Analyze the cause of the issue is not recommended because the reason will be different each time the analysis is made. Provided that the files are copied perfectly, the USB device and the computer works fine.

Always there are people who use Windows Xp, the problem is that when I copy the files in my USB and use it in my friends house, then Windows XP said 'pen drive not formatted ".

How is the "pen drive" formatted - with what the specific OS file system?

This is more likely to be a file system - do not operating system (although related, not as much as you might think)-problem.  Another possibility is a problem hardware or bad driver on the machine Windows XP itself.  It could also be, although rare, an incompatible 'USB key '.

What is the 'pen drive' is formatted with the file system is essentially - the first question to ask.  Then - if I were you - I everything on the 'pen drive' copy on a computer which can be read - if committed to the machine more common denominator (in this case the Windows XP machine) you will use and FORMAT this 'pen drive' using this machine.  One of the few possible things will happen no doubt...

    (1) you'll find you format it with a version of NTFS that will work in all areas - all the machines that you can use with Windows XP or more on them.  Then this problem will disappear.

    (2) you will find there * is * something wrong with the Windows XP specific in question and this machine is not a problem easily solved this and your "pen drive" probably will work on someone elses machine Windows XP very well as it existed before.

    (3) you will end up with a FAT32 formatted "pen drive" that should work on most any system - as long as you don't need to transfer * really * large individual files.

  • Problem of file sharing between Windows 7 and Vista using a working group

I use a working group and have a shared folder on a computer that is running Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm trying to access the file from a computer on the same workgroup that is running Vista Business. It requires a username and password that I turn off password protected sharing on both computers and tried all combinations of accounts and passwords on both computers, but can not get access to the file. Installation of Windows Xp from a usb key involves a lot more than simply copy the files from one windows on a USB disk. It is much more difficult than don't imagine most (but not impossible). I did it a few times. Read the instructions on the two links below. The first link below is your best bet. You are not likely to do things immediately. It's ok, we are here...

Windows has encountered a problem, try to copy a file... why?  MikeW

There are many possible reasons.  What you have tried to do over time?  Is there additional information printed with this message?  A few possible reasons come to mind:

    • The file was opened exclusively by the operating system or another program
    • The full path to the file from the C:\... contain more than 256 characters
    • Permissions problem: you have read permissions for the file or permission in writing to the destination
    • The file entry or damaged directory disk sector. (Run the command chkdsk with the /R option to this address)
    • The file is larger than 4 GB and you try to copy it to a disk formatted with a FAT file system.

I'm sure that there are more reasons, but need more information.

  • "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine" after several teething problems

Well, a few days ago, I had repeated problems where after my machine has started, things were not running right.  Several programs that start automatically at startup were suspended, others were not run at all and I had to reboot several times in a row until I was a session that would normally be.  This last day, he won't even be me a normal session.

And then I got the dreaded error "this copy of Windows is not genuine" and it starts just a black screen and I do not get any further.  (I started this time in Mode safe mode with networking).  I have a disc of Win7 Pro DVD bought Age of return and progressed through several machines with it.  Always a machine at the same time, of course.

  • Problem importing files Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail in Windows 7__

My new computer has Windows 7 and, of course, Windows Live Mail.  My old computer has Windows XP and Outlook Express.  I copied my file OE that contains all my USB key *.dbx files.  On the file menu of WLM, I then selected "Import Messages" and then indicated the location of my OE files on the USB key.  When I clicked to import the files, a small window with a green status bar that showed all the imported files.  I then clicked on "Finish."  My problem is even if the import seems to be successful I don't think the imported files or folders in Live Mail.  I tried twice with the same results.  Did I miss a step?  My just OE files seem to have not gotten in my Windows Live Mail program.

Look in the imported folders under storage folders. If you do not see the storage files, in the Menu bar: view | Page layout | The folders pane. Check: View the storage folders.

Missing Menu bar? Click the menu button to the left of the help button and activate the menu bar.

If still no joy, copy the database messages OE of the USB on the desktop and try to import from there.

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

  • Corruption in large file copy to USB - Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1

I have seen other people have reported this problem, but I have not found an answer.

When I copy large files (1 GB +) from one hard disk to another (connected to the same computer), and the destination hard disk is on a port USB3 (also maybe USB2), sometimes the file is damaged somewhere towards the end.  Usually, the copy is fine for 60 to 80% of the length but the rest seems so be given totally random.
If I copy the file even over and over again between the same two discs, usually, I keep getting corrupted copies (but not in the same place).
If I copied the files to a different destination drive, usually the problem goes away.
I tried to use the command COPY to command prompt, same problem.
I tried putting the drive source on a USB2 port, so the copy goes much slower, still get corruption.
I ran a test of the RAM for 6 hours with no problems found.
I tried to run a "Linux" operating system on the same computer with drives connected to the same ports, and copies were all good!  But much more slow (about 30 MB/sec instead of 100 MB/s).
Because Windows checks the accuracy of copy of file, it would be a big problem, even if it is not reproducible - but since it is "all the time" and "over and over" with the same files, it's all just crazy!
I have another question strange memory.  I have two 4 GB DRAM sticks in my computer, but the properties shows my memory as:
"GB 8.00 installed (3.98 GB usable)" and right it says "64-bit operating system" - so why can't we use half of my memory?
    Processor: AMD FX-6100 3.3 GHz not overclocked-card mother ASRock 990FX Extreme 4
Note that I have no problem with other programs of writing large files on the same hard drive, for example the output of a video editing software has no problem.
    Suggestions?
    Thank you
    -Gary

I THINK I FOUND THE PROBLEM!

This is the X - Fast USB program supplied with the motherboard ASROCK.
If you have X-Fast USB running (and you know), UNINSTALL IT, reboot and this problem may disappear.  So if please contact ASRock and let them know that their program is ruining your life.

  • Problems accessing the HP Recovery Manager after the installation of new copy of Windows 7.

I have the HP Pavilion dv6 (2043us) originally with Windows 7 Home Premium. A recent storm crossed in my area, which seems to me to be the cause of a corrupt hard drive file that prevented Windows startup. My extra fathers using copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (is a prominent IT guy for his company, he has a lot to lose) I decided to install it from that rather than using the HP Recovery Manager in order to save my files (Windows Startup Repair and system restore failed, and to restore the default factory was not desirable) as I mentioned it because of my desire to save my documents) I have installed on the same partition as the original windows, allowing files to be viewed in Windows.old.

However, after all that, I came to the will to restore the default settings. However, after you press (esc) and (f11) to access the Recovery Manager, it is bring up the Windows Startup logo and the login screen. Is it possible to access the Recovery Manager and restore the default settings? If so, how should I do this? As I said, I left all the original parts intact, so I do not think it is possible after some research, but I'm not sure how to start the process.

This method to get the active recovery partition was first introduced to me by Cheryl here on the site. It may or may not work.

Right-click on computer and click Manage > search in the list on the left, and then open disk management. You should see the recovery partition it. Click right and whether it is active and the next time that you start it up, it should boot into the recovery partition and restore back to the factory.
